Scores of cutie patooties that I look up on IMDB to see what happened to them or what they look like now.

Well, one of the hottest, the wheelchair guy from Part 2, was gay and died of AIDS.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 13, 2016 11:26 PM |
Here's a recent semi-recent video of Andy from Part 3 who gets sliced in half walking on his hands. He's a doctor now.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 13, 2016 11:27 PM |
Thank you 4! Hard to believe how much he's changed.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 13, 2016 11:47 PM |
My favourite is part 3

How many actors and actresses from the series were also soap opera stars? I think EVERY final girl also did soaps.
Even the creator of the series, Victor Miller, would go on to become a big Emmy's winning daytime soap opera writer. Writing for Another World, As The World Turns, Guiding Light, One Life To Live, General Hospital and All My Children.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 14, 2016 12:20 AM |
The final girl in the first film was Tenielle from Captain and Tenielle.

FriGAY the 13th The New Blood with Carrie ......... I mean Tina ............ and her gay final boy, his gay cousin and the gay black friend who got his head squished outside the van (I think) ,,,,,,,,, not sure if there were others in that sequel.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 14, 2016 2:15 AM |
R12 yup! Kevin Blair Spirtas who played the male lead Nick in Friday VII was Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives from 1997-2003.
Larry Park Lincoln who played the telekinetic final girl Tina, was on the nighttime soap opera Knots Landing as the villainous Linda Fairgate from 1987-1991.
Betsy, Mrs. Voorhees, Palmer was also on Knots Landing during the same time as Lar, from 1988-1990.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 14, 2016 2:20 AM |
Tom McBride who played the wheelchair bound victim Mark in part 2 died of AIDS in 1995.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 14, 2016 2:22 AM |
Renee Jones (ex Lexi on Days of Our Lives) was in Part VI: Jason Lives
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 14, 2016 2:26 AM |
R15 yup. And Jennifer Cooke, her costar and the final girl of Part VI Megan Garris, had already found some fame on the "soap scene" playing Morgan on Guiding Light from 81-83, she even made the cover of Soap Opera Digest in 1983 with her GL love interest John Wesley Shipp.
Adrienne King the final girl from part 1 was on Another World and The Edge of Night, after F13 opened and was a big hit she signed a contract role for another soap opera All My Children, but quit after a crazed fan stalked the AMC set in NYC.
Amy Steel from part 2, she played Ginny, was on All My Children as Peggy Warner and Guiding Light as Trudy in the 80s.
Dana Kimmel, Chris from part 3D, was Dawn Marshall from 80-82 on the Now canceled soap Texas and from 83-85 played Diane Parker on Days Of Our Lives.
Kimberly Beck from The Final Chapter played Julie Clegg on the Now canceled soap Capitol on the early 80s. She later showed up in a recurring role on the huge 80s nighttime soap opera Dynasty as Claire Prentiss from 86-87.
Melanie Kinnaman, who played Pam in Part V was a regular on General Hospital for 2 years in the late 80s and also had roles on Another World and Santa Barbara

Scott Reeves (DOOL and YR) survived when Jason Took Manhattan.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 14, 2016 3:01 AM |
The original soap opera victim was Kevin Bacon who was on GL.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 14, 2016 3:02 AM |
Estelle Parsons was originally offered the role of Mrs. Voorhees but she turned it down. That would've been a hoot.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 14, 2016 3:14 AM |
I LOVE the first three. Early 80's goodness.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 14, 2016 3:19 AM |
Betsy Palmer only did it because she needed money for a new car and she thought no one would ever see it. Wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 14, 2016 3:19 AM |
Betsy Palmer used to go conventions to make money off horror nerds.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 14, 2016 3:21 AM |
Betsy and her lip liner were the best part
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 14, 2016 3:22 AM |
There was lots of tension on the Final Chapter set between the director and actors and the guy who played Jason and Corey Feldman. In the scene toward the end when Jason breaks through the window and grabs Corey, that's a real scream. Corey thought the stunt didn't work and was genuinely scared when Jason finally grabbed him. The guy who played Jason did it to get back at Corey. I don't remember what the actual problem was between them though.

I have a book on the F13 series and Barry Moss, one of the casting directors of the original, said that they PURPOSELY went after soap opera actors from the NYC soap opera scene to cast because "soap actors can memorize a lot of dialog in a short period of time, know how to hit their marks and have a bit of a fan base since the producers couldn't afford big name actors".
Soaps were HUGE back in the late 70s/80s.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 14, 2016 3:27 AM |
I know the series wasn't known for its good acting performances, but this atrocious scene with "Chili" from part 4 always makes me laugh because of her awful acting.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 14, 2016 4:01 AM |
I thought Ned the wise-ass prankster from the first installment was cute. I would have liked to see him in just those tighty whities, but still cute with all the wrapping. He was played by Mark Nelson who is a gayer and I think pretty handsome still.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 14, 2016 4:03 AM |
R26, it's actually from Part 3. They had to shoot that scene like 25 times because of that horrible actress. I can't imagine what the earlier takes were like if that was the best they could get.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 14, 2016 11:49 AM |
I didn't know Mark Nelson was gay, R27.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 14, 2016 11:52 AM |
Her trot through the house when she's supposed to be terrified...hilarious!!!

A short interview with Bill Randolph from Part 2. He mentions Tom McBride.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 14, 2016 8:39 PM |
Marta Kober, that played Randolph's girlfriend Sandra in part 2, has had one of the saddest lives after becoming a heavy meth addict. She's only 52, but looks much, much older.

I sent Melissa to camp when she was a kid.
Camp Joan Crawford.
Where, instead of short-sheeting, they tie you into the bed.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 14, 2016 9:52 PM |
The acting in the first 2 Friday films was actually pretty good for low budget horror. I think partly because they were shot on the East Coast in New Jersey and Connecticut and they were able to cast actors from the NYC theatre scene and NYC soap opera scene as well.
Even Leonard Maltin, who panned the original, praised Betsy Palmer's performance.
In part 3D the series moves out to the West Coast and it suddenly gets really cheesy and the acting becomes pretty bad
No more NYC theatre actors being cast.

Mark is totally going to be turned on by my poop brown panties!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 14, 2016 10:30 PM |
The best thing about part 3 was the wonderfully cheesy disco theme song.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 14, 2016 10:35 PM |
They had some actual character development in the first two also. Starting around part 5 they usually had several characters killed within a few minutes of being introduced.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 14, 2016 10:39 PM |
Whoever made this video of Demon and Anita from part 5 is a genius. Always get a laugh out of watching it.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 14, 2016 10:42 PM |
While part 5 is considered one of worst sequels, it had a few very memorable characters. Character actress Carol Locatell is hilarious and makes the most her small part of backwoods redneck Ethel.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 14, 2016 10:50 PM |
Betsy Palmer (Mrs. Voorhees), Jeanine Taylor (Marcie) and Peter Brower (Steve Christie) were all cast members of the NYC taped Proctor and Gamble soap opera As The World Turns from 82-83.
Palmer played hot to trot divorcée Suze Becker. Taylor played Maureen Durfee and I don't know the name of Brower's ATWT character
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 14, 2016 10:54 PM |
I agree, R34. The group in the first film is a rather likable group of people (per-archteypes) set against a backdrop that does feel isolated (Note how black those woods are- no blue lighting.) You really can tell when it switches over to California.
Tom McBride was so hot and they stuck him in a wheelchair.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 14, 2016 10:54 PM |
Marta Kober is frightening looking. She was squatting in empty apartments several years back in Hancock Park stealing people's mail and writing bad checks.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 15, 2016 1:58 AM |
Bill Randolph looks like Jim Bob Duggar.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 15, 2016 2:32 AM |
I love that quiet, post credits sequence when the first modern day victim is walking through the quiet town. It's not a great movie but not as bad as critics made it out to be in 1980.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 15, 2016 12:42 PM |
I like the opening to the Final Chapter - the aftermath of part III with all the police activity. Then they all leave and it's pitch black for like 5 seconds. So creepy.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 15, 2016 1:49 PM |
I loved that part 3 theme song.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 15, 2016 4:27 PM |
So, is Victor Miller gay or something, r9?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 15, 2016 6:43 PM |
Parts 6 and 7 were two of the best movies in the franchise, OP. Much more than "watchable."
So go machete yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 15, 2016 6:47 PM |
r2 would enjoy Crystal Lake Memories, the epic, 7-hour documentary about the making of the franchise, with interviews of over 150 cast members!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 15, 2016 6:54 PM |
Susan Blu, the spritely actress who played Tina's mom in Part 7, has voiced numerous cartoons, including Finding Nemo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and my favorite: Arcee from The Transformers!
@ the 12:10 mark:
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 15, 2016 7:19 PM |
I don't find the Part 3 theme song "cheesy" at all, r36.
I consider it most bangin!'
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 15, 2016 7:42 PM |
I love Kevin Bacon's belly flop in the first film.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 15, 2016 10:13 PM |
R50, she was also the voice of Stormer on Jem!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 15, 2016 10:17 PM |
Nearly, if not all of the guys in Part 7 were supposedly gay.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 16, 2016 12:11 AM |
How many actors and actresses of the series are gay?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 16, 2016 12:21 AM |
Kevin Spirtas is now an openly gay man. He had a recurring role in Sebastian La Cause's "Hustling" series, which isn't half bad.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | May 16, 2016 12:31 AM |
R57 rumor has it that Kevin is also returning to Days of Our Lives as Dr. Craig Wesley. His daughter on the show, the big boobed Chloe and wife Nancy, played by zatfig character actress Patrika Darbo, have already been CONFIRMED to be returning to the soap.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | May 16, 2016 12:35 AM |
I was just a 14-year-old, virgin gayling when Kevin Spirtas walked on to the silver screen and stole my breath away:
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 16, 2016 5:06 PM |
I think he's the only final girl who hasn't made a horror movie convention yet.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 16, 2016 7:40 PM |
FYI, the Mortal Kombat franchise keeps adding '80s movie monsters to its video games.
You can now fight as Jason or Freddy:

by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 18, 2016 2:13 AM |
The entire franchise has been put on hold because of a lawsuit between Sean Cunningham, the original producer, the studios and Victor Miller, the original writer.
