There was this Steve Martin movie called Bowfinger. In it a young wannabe actress fucked anyone who might advance her career and ended up dating Hollywood's biggest power lesbian. Two minor characters were the Whatever brothers who lived in their parents' basement and were the new kings of Hollywood. They were the biggest geek/nerd/dorks eer (never know which, not American) and they were clearly based on the W brothers.

You know who the young wannabe actress was.

In hindsight, Bowfinger is especially brilliant. Daring.

Bowfinger is a damn great and very funny movie. Eddie Murphy gives two great performances in it. He deserved an Oscar nomination and more. His talents are so unappreciated. He's not underestimated - just continually unrecognized. No wonder he's so pissy. A great comic actor - one of the GREAT comic actors. Only a bit of what he does is on the page. What he did in films was often genius, always surprising. He's endlessly inventive and versatile. Cute sexy dude too in his time. The thread doesn't interest me, but Steve Martin made a wonderfully satirical loose kind of film with Bowfinger. With Murphy, Christine Baranski, Heather Graham and everyone having great silly moments to shine. Everyone should watch that film. It will make you laugh. Eddie is hilarious. And the allusions to scientology are delicious.

I thought they tied up the Matrix series in the last film. What nonsensical plot hole in the story are they going to use to this time? Is Keanu in this one? Have the machines finally won? This is just like when Jason Vorhees dies violently at the end of each movie yet (surprise!) he still comes back for another movie. The Jason sequels probably numbered in the double digits by the end of the run. Even then, I don’t think they’ll keep him buried. The Wacko Sisters’ transformation would have been seen as career suicide just twenty years ago. Now, it’s hardly even progressive or all that shocking to hear about. I hope this means they’ll put their fame and money to good use for the trans community instead of becoming a media whore who only seeks attention and money-making opportunities like that self-serving big-footed ‘man in a dress’ Caitlyn “Fuck Her Ugly Ass and Her Ugly Ass Family” Jenner.

Yes, well it's not uncommon for identical twins to both be anorexic or heroin addicts. It's a shared psychological problem and behavior that allows for just enough competition. As does being trans.

R1 Cloud Atlas is one of those novel that were not written thinking in the film adaptation. It used to be on lists of novels impossible to make a film about.

The trailer is amazing, the film is simply awful. I loved the novel but after five minutes of film i was completely lost

There are only psychologically troubled people suffering from gender dysphoria who have created the modern definition of "trans" as a form of self-delusional treatment for their condition. Ghost in the Shell is much better than The Matrix. Watch that one instead of the latter.

R42, hell no. The original 1995 movie as someone posted above. The Matrix "borrowed" from it. But Ghost in the Shell is so much more thought-provoking.

I still believe the story of the black woman who sent them her script that The Matrix was based on-they took her idea without crediting/paying her. Apparently The Oracle is based on her. She sued them twice, unsuccessfully. The only reason I believe it is because all their other movies are shit.

Sense8 was fun though, except for the dire finale episode *shudders*
