While I like her I don't think this is going to get me to see Tomb Raider.

They should've cast an unknown or maybe Camilla Luddington who did the voice of Lara for the game.

First they cast an anorexic as Wonder Woman, now they're going to take this tiny woman and strap a couple of volleyballs to her chest. She's going to look like a tiny woman with a couple of volleyballs strapped to her chest, not like Lara Croft.

OP is showing her age and irrelevancy. Tomb Raider has been successfully rebooted for over 5 years now with a new concept. Young 'relatable' Lara Croft in a more realistic grounded world.

Alicia will be great for playing a young inexperienced Lara Croft. She doesn't need to have the physicality for it, at least not yet.

The tombraider reboot from 2013 sold arounf 10 million and has a 87 on metacritic. This is a bige deal.

Didn't the first try with Jolie fizzle pretty quickly? I think the first movie did well - shifted her from being the strange woman with a creepy relationship with her brother to a sex symbol - but by the second movie it had already lost steam and did not do as well as hoped.

I imagine they'll get her in shape before they start shooting, Angelina wore padded bras to make her boobs look twice the size btw.

Despite it being an origin story they still should have picked someone with a bit more muscle.

Angelina had biggish boobs when she was younger, you can see them online if you like, but they weren't big enough for the Lara Croft role. At the time, she was quite open about the ample padding in her costume.

R12, Angie was not rail thin when she did the Tomb Raider films. But even with a smaller frame, Angie is very good at portraying formidable characters. Not many actresses, particularly very attractive ones, can convincingly play an action heroine.

What a frustration. I thought Alicia Vikander was a serious actress. By choosing a part like that she proved that she just wants to be a celebrity. She shouldn't accept that part. Supporting that kind of films suppresses the art of making movies.

Jesus, I didn't expect to dislike the trailer this much. It's been edited so weirdly that you don't know what you're looking at. They are obviously going for a game like trailer but it just doesn't work. And judging by the trailer Vikander was not a good choice for Lara. The effects do look nice, especially at the sea, so you never know the film might end up being good enough.

After reading some more reviews... don't go in with high expectations and you should be fine. The production values are lacking a bit (it does *not* look like a $90 mil movie) and Walton Goggins does the same schtick he always does. Alicia's playing Lara differently, which is upsetting to some. Otherwise, it's a fun flick.

I want to see it for the gorgeous Daniel Wu. Should be a hit in China because of him.

No dumb elder gays, angelina could not pull of a 21 year old. And the video game which both angelina and alicias movies were bassed off were rebooted in 2013 which sold 12 million copies and was critically acclaimed. That version is the version alicia is playing.

Jolie sucked in the Tomb Raider movies. I'm glad they're remaking them. The Angelina fangurls are usually straight girls who always name her as their "girl crush" or a specific group of lesbians that have no taste.

Well, Jolie is more believable as an action heroine than Vikander could ever be, and I don't even like Jolie. At least Jolie has a tough/crazy vibe about her, Vikander is too bland.

Gal Gadot isn't exactly a hulking beast of a woman but she was great as Wonder Woman. Vikander is fine. She's as much action hero material as Harrison Ford was when he became a very similar character, Indiana Jones. At least she looks like she can move without losing her breath.

Alicia Vikander is such a good example of how the Supporting Actress category has diminished. I mean for my first supporting nomination I was up against the likes of such greats as Maggie Smith and Maureen Stapleton.

So I thought the movie was meh (I played and LOVED the reboot game it was based off of) but everyone else I spoke to, including the person I saw it with, adored it

So I saw this since It was this or that giant robot movie and I pleseantly enjoyed it, I was shocked to see kristen scott thomas in it. She was fab. Alicia was good too and thought she was likeable, would watch a a sequel if it's made.

Without Harvey Weinstein and his push, she's just another forgettable starlet.

She has had some very classic and lively outfits on the red carpet. She usually even manages to oull off the more avant garde garb.

I like her as an actress. She was excellent in Tribute of Youth and I was surprised she didn't get nominated for that. I've also like her on other things. I find her very interesting and it makes me want to see Tomb Raider. I realize it's a a different approach and that may be interesting. She isn't bland to me.

I made the mistake of paying money to see Tomb Raider. I was bored to tears, she was terribly miscast and just lacked in presence on screen. I couldn’t imagine her fighting off a fiver year old let alone a full size man. The storyline was shit the lead-up, the twist all were lackluster. The only smidgen of brightness came from the Kristen Scott Thomas. If another actress was cast as Tomb Raider and the sequel gave KST a more interegral role I would give it another shot.
