Last tv show you watched

What was the last tv show you watched?

by Anonymousreply 60002/07/2018

France 24's "The World This Week" where European journalists discussed what they think about the American election and Donald Trump (it's in English and free online)

by Anonymousreply 103/06/2016

The Flash

by Anonymousreply 203/06/2016

KillerText, an Investigation Discovery type show on Oxygen. I can watch pretty much any ID type show once.

by Anonymousreply 303/06/2016

KillerPost, actually.

by Anonymousreply 403/06/2016

The People vs. OJ Simpson

by Anonymousreply 503/06/2016

Parks and Rec

by Anonymousreply 603/12/2016

Real Time with Bill Maher.

by Anonymousreply 703/12/2016

Grimm, just finished watching the latest episode. I almost gave up on it last season but I'm liking this season a lot, even if certain elements annoy me.

by Anonymousreply 803/12/2016

by Anonymousreply 903/12/2016

The Haves & The Have Nots

by Anonymousreply 1003/12/2016

The Beeb's Happy Valley

by Anonymousreply 1103/12/2016

S2 of Bosch on Amazon Prime. LA Noir detective story starring Titus Welliver, formerly of Deadwood, as Harry Bosch. There are a couple of former actors from The Wire on the show as well.

by Anonymousreply 1203/12/2016

Slasher. Loving it.

by Anonymousreply 1303/14/2016

Luther, as we speak. I'm scared.

by Anonymousreply 1403/14/2016

by Anonymousreply 1503/14/2016

The Great British Bake Off.

I know: Mary!

by Anonymousreply 1603/14/2016

Lucifer. I wish Mr. Morningstar would be more devilish but I like the show a lot.

by Anonymousreply 1703/15/2016

Damien. Satan is very strong on tv this season.

by Anonymousreply 1803/15/2016

Watching NCIS' 300th episode just killing time waiting for the People vs. OJ Simpson. Too depressed to watch the Primary results

by Anonymousreply 1903/15/2016

Watching "The Tudors" now

by Anonymousreply 2003/15/2016

Bosch, season 2. Don't know what I'm going to do with Amazon Prime for a year, but I'm cray for Bosch.

by Anonymousreply 2103/15/2016

Star Wars Rebels. Love the show just like I loved its predecessor The Clone Wars. Don't mind it's a kids' show, the themes are quite adult.

by Anonymousreply 2203/17/2016

Criminal Minds. Shemar was pretty last night.

by Anonymousreply 2303/17/2016

House of Cards S4E5

by Anonymousreply 2403/17/2016

The People vs. OJ simpson. Not a regular watcher but I caught a few episodes on FX the other night. I had to laugh at the fashions and decor, they nailed the mid-90s.

by Anonymousreply 2503/17/2016

Season 3 of the Americans on Amazon prime. Really excellent series.

by Anonymousreply 2603/17/2016

Daredevil season two. I'm only one episode in since I've got stuff to do but things seem more or less the same as they were on season one. However since Jessica Jones was such a letdown after a great start I'm now fearing I'll end up hating DD as well.

by Anonymousreply 2703/18/2016

Doctor Blake Mysteries.

by Anonymousreply 2803/18/2016

R16 I watched the entire season of the Great Australian Bake Off! If you're a Mary what does that make me?

by Anonymousreply 2903/18/2016

I binged season 2 of Happy Valley on Netflix last night. It had at least one major sour note but the rest was pure bliss.

I watched season 2 of Bosch the night before last.

[quote]There are a couple of former actors from The Wire on the show as well.

Titus Welliver is adequate in a role that doesn't have much range and could be played by any number of other actors, but Lance Reddick and the other non-leads make Bosch worth watching.

by Anonymousreply 3003/18/2016

R30, who did you imagine playing Bosch all these years?

by Anonymousreply 3103/18/2016

An Original "L&O"---the marathon is on Sundance now.

by Anonymousreply 3203/18/2016

I watched Scandal last night, but it was boring, so I kept looking at Blue Bloods on ION TV, and not just during the ABC commercials.

by Anonymousreply 3303/18/2016

by Anonymousreply 3403/18/2016

Hey, Rayna.

by Anonymousreply 3503/18/2016

R31, I've read that Connelly wanted Billy Burke and he would have been good. There are so many good choices, but I think Clive Owen is one who would have fit the role. I picture Tim Olyphant when I read the books. I definitely imagined someone who was better looking than Titus Welliver and could actually move his face.

by Anonymousreply 3603/18/2016

If you literally mean "the last show you watched," it would be today's episode of Judge Jewdy.

If you mean the last show I was invested in, it would be Impastor, starring the studly Michael Rosenbaum, and Hardcore Pawn, featuring the Gold family of pawnbrokers in Detroit. Alas, Hardcore Pawn seems to be no more, and I'm waiting for the return of Impastor.

by Anonymousreply 3703/18/2016

R36, I would probably have liked Billy Burke, too, though I find him too good-looking to play Harry Bosch. Bosch isn't a character who's gotten by on his looks, while Billy Burke is, well, just the opposite of that. I like the suggestion of Clive Owen, and I'm not that familiar with Olyphant. I know who he is, but not much more.

I started reading the books when they first came out, 1992. Harry was supposed to have been born in 1950, so I've always pictured someone age appropriate, e.g., Michael McKeen, Michael O'Keefe, and especially, Robert Clohessy.

by Anonymousreply 3803/18/2016

R38, I could see O'Keefe and Clohessy but not McKeen. I read a site ages ago that suggested Kyle Chandler. I didn't outright reject that idea and I'm still mulling it one over in my mind along with Kevin Bacon.

by Anonymousreply 3903/18/2016

The Ed Sullivan Show.

My television broke in 1966 and I'm waiting for them to perfect color before buying a new one.

by Anonymousreply 4003/18/2016

R39, when did you start reading Michael Connelly's books?

by Anonymousreply 4103/18/2016

by Anonymousreply 4203/18/2016

Survivor on Wednesday.

by Anonymousreply 4303/18/2016

Happy Valley. Series 2. I watched it on BBC, thought it's on Netflix now.

by Anonymousreply 4403/18/2016

by Anonymousreply 4503/18/2016

I also watched some awfully slow Icelandic crime series called Trapped. Very unsatisfying ending.

by Anonymousreply 4603/18/2016

Soon after it was published I had a transatlantic flight and bought a few paperbacks to fill the time. Among them was Black Echo, and I was hooked.

How about you?

by Anonymousreply 4703/18/2016

R47 was directed at R41. Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 5204/02/2016

Marathon of "Last Tango in Hallifax" - seasons 1-3. I read that this year we will only get a 2-hour Christmas episode, then the 4th season (to air in 2017 or 2018) will likely be the last.

by Anonymousreply 5404/02/2016

Sundance's HAP and LEONARD starring James Purefoy and Michael K. Williams.

Peeps vs OJ

by Anonymousreply 6204/02/2016

Jesus Christ, i think we're reaching total saturation: i love tv shows but nowadays there's just too much offer... it's pretty impossible to keep in touch. I've never heard of at least 30% of the shows you're talking about. I'm sure i'm missing out on a lot of good stuff, and it makes me sad. Anyway, I'm hooked on American Crime Story and The Americans. Great stuff!

by Anonymousreply 6304/02/2016

r47, I think it was Nine Dragons, much of which took place in Hong Kong. I remember thinking Eleanor was Chinese until I read some more of the Bosch books.

by Anonymousreply 6404/03/2016

The Real O'Neals

by Anonymousreply 6504/03/2016

Banshee. I've watched episodes here and there but never got committed. For some reason I almost hated the show at first but there's something fascinating about it. Season 4 just premiered and it will be the last apparently. I loved the premiere and will absolutely watch rest of the season.

by Anonymousreply 6604/03/2016

Just finished watching season two of The Knick. I only watched watched the pilot from season one when it first aired but I had no problems getting in when I started watching season two last week. This is a gorgeous show. Beautifully made and so nicely balanced.

I'm glad Steven Soderberg made the move to television. I never really liked his films but he really shines here. He apparently wants to do six seasons of The Knick and talked about making the show in two season blocks, which means we're possibly going to get something different next fall.

by Anonymousreply 6704/04/2016

This morning - The Today Show. Rossen Reports did a story about how much liquid beverage you actually get in a Starbucks Grande Latte. Turns out, of the 5 or 6 stores he went to, none gave the advertised (?) amount of 16 ozs. Two were close but the others were waaay under; one was at about 12 ozs. They reached out to Starbucks which gave their usual crap response and added, "if you're not happy with your beverage, we'd be more than happy to serve you a new one."

Last night - Quantico but I fell asleep before the episode ended.

by Anonymousreply 6804/04/2016

Mr. Robot. I watched the whole thing this weekend. My brain still hurts.

by Anonymousreply 7004/09/2016

NBC's new show GAME OF SILENCE. It didn't suck.

Oh, and then MARTHA BAKES on PBS. I am loving this show.

by Anonymousreply 7504/13/2016

Last night I watched the Merv Griffin Show in GetTV, with guests Tallulah Bankhead and Willie Mays.

So many laughs, and so good to see an intelligent raconteur such as Miss Bankhead in full throttle.

by Anonymousreply 7604/13/2016

Peaky Blinders. Amazing show!

by Anonymousreply 8304/16/2016

Finding Bigfoot

Oh, I mean, 'I am Cait'.

by Anonymousreply 8404/16/2016

Blue Bloods. I love Will Estes. How come his character never has sex with anyone? And where does he live?

Last night, they gave "48th and Columbus" and "41st and Amsterdam" as locations, which every New Yorker knows are *not* locations. Below 59th Street, Columbus is called 9th Avenue, and Amsterdam is 10th. And this show is shot in NY. Do the writers live in LA and have never been to NY?

by Anonymousreply 8504/16/2016

by Anonymousreply 12911/16/2016

The Real O'Neals

by Anonymousreply 13011/16/2016

I don't mind the new one, I think they wanted a new short one to lesson the odds of people changing the channel. It's probably doomed. I've liked about everything except Josh's song in 2, which might've been purposely bad, but we still had to hear it. Like some shitty band the Saved By The Bell kids put together.

by Anonymousreply 13111/16/2016

R146, how is the gay storyline on Conviction, has anything new happened?

by Anonymousreply 14711/22/2016

I like Outlander too and Poldark and no, not a frau. But the best series on is an Australian one, A PLACE TO CALL HOME. Some PBS stations show it; ACORN has it. Great writing and some oof the best acting you will ever see PLUS some very handsome men and one of the storylines is about a gay young man...set in 1952, so you can imagine what he went through. Try it.

by Anonymousreply 14811/22/2016

The Sonny and Cher Show on Get TV.

It was the premiere episode with guest star Jimmy Durante,

Boy, did it blow.

by Anonymousreply 14911/22/2016

Upstairs, Downstairs. My tele has been on the blink so I'm a bit behind in the episodes but I hear there are plans for Lady Marjorie to travel to New York and then on to Canada to visit that train- wreck, Elizabeth, hopefully to drum some sense into that impudent, directionless disappointment of a daughter.

by Anonymousreply 15311/22/2016

A Lifetime rerun of Grey's Anatomy on DVR, watched this morning while having breakfast. Will watch another with dinner. There was some kind of GA marathon yesterday. Love that show only up until Christina leaves. Then it fell flat, IMO.

There are almost no current shows on the air that appeal to me, once in a while believe it or not that Mom show because I love the actress who plays the younger woman's mother. I also still watch SVU but it's so boring I usually ff most of it. I just can't give up the last L&O show on the air. Even if I don't really watch I must record.

by Anonymousreply 15411/22/2016

Judge Judy

by Anonymousreply 15511/22/2016

Timeless. I sort of enjoy the show but the story is pretty tedious. I'm always wondering whether to stop watching it but part of me enjoys the time travel aspect quite a lot.

by Anonymousreply 15611/22/2016

R146, it's barely there.

by Anonymousreply 15711/22/2016

R147, it's barely there.

by Anonymousreply 15811/22/2016

Conviction will be over before they resolve that situation.

by Anonymousreply 15911/22/2016

Maybe if it were more of an ensemble than a Hayley Atwell starrer, it would have drawn more of an audience. Her "Me! Me! Me!" antics are the only thing I don't like about the show. I wish they hadn't hired the First Daughter, and gone with whichever Ashmore was supposed to get the job. He's like a ghost on this show, and I'd so much rather he were the center of attention (particularly if he and Eddie Cahill were having a thing).

by Anonymousreply 16011/22/2016

I don't watch TV and do not own a set

It's Howdy Doody Time, 1951 or 52. I was quite young but I didn't like the violence and wrote off watching TV after that. Someone must have beat up Clarabell pretty bad because he couldn't speak and only honked his horn when he attempted to communicate. What a horror.

I watched a few episodes of Season 1 of Baskets. Well I commend the originality, writing and performances.

HOWEVER, this is one of those shows where the main character (s) is a nasty misanthrope. It's like Portlandia. Many other shows. Curb your enthusiasm. Crazy ex. etc. TRANSPARENT in a major way.

After a while, I don't want to spend time with these awful characters.

I'm bored to death with TV. News has become entertainment at this point.

I've gone without TV before. Theater movies take on a whole new viewing experience. The run of the mill movies rarely interest me. Thank goodness for the Club movies.

Orphan Black. I still think Tatiana Maslany is brilliant, but the plot has gone completely off the rails (and did a couple of seasons ago). I'm only watching this final season to be a completist.

by Anonymousreply 39307/06/2017

Tatiana is a brilliant actress on par with Davis, Hepburn, and beloved Dame Maggie. Easily the best actress on TV...nobody is even close. I loved her small role in Woman in Gold. I hope her career is full of classy roles and Oscars and Emmys. God, she is a fantastic actress. I am lost this season.

Will. I think I'm the only person watching it. Cute lead, nice production, but it's just roughed up "Shakespeare In Love." And apparently Elizabethan actors could learn all their lines and blocking and put on the first production of "Two Gentlemen of Verona" in the span of a couple of hours. Sure.

I've seen a couple of the episodes of Queers on BBC America. Why is DL not discussing this -- it's got gay themes, gay writers and gay actors. (Other than BBCA did no advertising for the series, apparently.)

Just burned through all 6 hours of Costner's HATFIELDS & MCCOYS in one day.

It's old hat now (came out over 5 years ago on the damn History Channel) and it got critically torn apart on release, but in retrospect it's enormously captivating for a long pulpy period piece. It's not art and it's not even a great dramatic tale - pure silly soap-opera if you think too hard - but it's a Costner Western so it doesn't have to be. I was gasping, grinning, biting my fingers and leaning forward in my seat throughout the series and as a viewer I am typically very hard to please. I'll probably watch it at least once more through on another rainy weekend, or even get myself the Bluray just for the gorgeous cinematography.

Also, those young Hatfield brothers sure were nice to look at in the Virginia sunlight. And Mare Winningham's acting is a dream.

R497 I find Poldark so incredibly boring, but can all those viewers be wrong? What am I missing or failing to appreciate, here?

I was told before 'Poldark' started that it would be akin to 'Sharpe' (which I love) but for me the former just doesn't compare. Perhaps that's why I can't get into it.

by Anonymousreply 50010/30/2017

Twilight Zone's "A Game of Pool" with Jack Klugman and Jonathan Winters

by Anonymousreply 50110/30/2017

I also find Poldark surprisingly dull, R500. (I'd enjoyed the 70s version, if memory serves.) I can't tell if it's the script or the direction (each scene lasts about 30 seconds; people are always meeting by sheer coincidence on lonely, windswept paths and beaches; characters apparently fly to and from houses that are miles apart, they get there so quickly; etc.) That said, the show looks spectacular, both in the natural scenery of Cornwall and several of the male actors. If those actors just rode around on horseback with their shirts open to the navel surely everyone would be happy. (Poldark Drinking Game: Drink a shot each time someone rides or walks along a windy cliff, beach or moor. You'll be hammered by the midway point.)

by Anonymousreply 50210/30/2017

Father Brown > The Durrells of Corfu > Poldark > The Collection.

The acting is weak on this version of Poldark. The original Geo Warleggen was mean but he had a couple of surprising good points (which I forget now, but he wasn't a cardboard villain). This one is petulant.

Yes ^ all the 30 second scenes and constant meetings. Last night, Morwenna sent to her mother's, a minute later she is back.

"Marcella" - when British television tries to create a dark Nordic thriller and does a pretty good job of it. Not that surprising since the show was written by the Swede who created "The Bridge". I really liked Anna Friel in it.

"Doctor Foster." One of the best "scorned woman exacts revenge" things I've seen. The ending was kind of heartbreaking, though. It took me a couple of episodes to figure out where I'd seen Suranne Jones before. It occurred to me that she was on Coronation Street some 10-15 years ago. by Anonymousreply 56601/24/2018

It’s a very different show in Season 3. The first 10 minutes of the first episode have two “you’ve gotta be kidding me” violent events. The Meyerists despite being nearly broke in season two are now inexplicably flush with funds to build a modern new HQ in Brooklyn and less than a year has gone by (going by the age of Cal’s kid). And then there is the S&M. It’s a crazy soap now where I think it was a more thoughtful show before.
