They've heard rumors or seen other evidence a male actor has slept with men, and when it's shown the actor in question has slept with women, they suggest both things are true because the actor might be bisexual. My own experience with Hollywood actors is that only a sizable minority of them are baseline gay (which always surprises people because the kids big in drama in h.s. were often gay). However, sexuality, as we all know, is a fluid thing, and actors are almost invariably narcissists, and narcissists want to bew anted by everyone. So I would guess more actors have experimented than most people (and the number of people who experiment is high).

My educated guesses based on years after wasted years of reading gossip blind items and gossip sites like this one, and the like is this:

1) There are a few male actors who are mostly gay who have children even still in 2019, and John Travolta is proof of this. But there are to be sure not many of them.

2) Vin Diesel is just too campy to be 100% straight. I have no idea about how active his gay sex life is, though. But he is raising the children alone, and he "dated in Europe."

3) Lee Pace and Richard Armitage were pretty definitely a couple. Pace has spoken of interviews that he is not straight, and Armitage has never been paired with a woman.

4) There are men in Hollywood who had affairs with older gay men (like Lee Majors) or who tricked (like Thomas Jane, who admits it) for cash before they hit it big. Tom Cruise almost certainly belongs to these categories, which is why there are so many non-specified rumors about him. But I do not think Tom Cruise is mostly gay. I believe Colin Farrell slept with men early on to advance his career, but I don't know if he's bi or mostly straight: he is absolutely a pussyhound, whatever he is.

Young naive me always thought Stanley Tucci was gay.

I thought Jonathan Lipnicki was gay for the longest. But he’s been with his gf for some time now, and is a pretty publicly supports gay causes, which a closeted guy probably wouldn’t do.
