Wit and Wisdom is for when someone is witty, funny or clever; Flames and Freaks is for when someone is way out of line.
You tap the respective buttons when you see fit.

W&W = wit and wisdom. The equivalent of Facebook's "like" button. It's a way of telling someone you enjoyed their post - usually for their, well, wit and wisdom. The poster gets a little pop up notification whenever someone W&W's one of their posts. No one else sees the notification. Use sparingly or it loses all meaningfulness.
F&F = flames and freaks. This is the opposite. Use it to mark a troll - someone who is perhaps being racist, homophobic or unusually nasty. Keep in mind, this is (was?) a gossip site where bitchiness is expected - if not outright demanded. F&F should really be used for posts that are in appallingly bad taste, not just for people who have differing opinions or who get a little bitchy. The poster does NOT receive a notification that you F&F'd them. If a lot of people F&F the same poster, the admins (apparently) get notified.

It used to be that the best "Wit and Wisdoms" were on the left side of the page when you arrived at the DL, so you could see which threads were funny.

W/W = Wet & Wild FF = Fist Fu*K

Is W&W also for when someone makes a very wise and helpful reply or is it just for funny, clever comments?

Why promote "bitchiness"? That's the feminine stereotyping of rudeness,, complaining, and being unreasonably contrary. Why is this characterization an aspiration for this site?

As one may infer from the name, Wit & Wisdom, it's supposed to also be for wise comments, but it's mostly used for funny, clever, bitchy and, well, witty comments.

You are in the wrong place, R6. Just leave.

R8, this is a safe space.

Too bad there is not a like button, as well as the WW button. Some posts are very touching.

WW = Weight Watchers
ff = future farmers

There is a helpful Help page to tap or click. There is another thing called settings to tap or click. It's the round icon with pointy edge. It looks like a flower or the sun with a black dot.

R6 - Stop trying to mold this site to fit your desires. Find your own tribe.

Why don't I have these button? I use Chrome
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 6, 2019 6:46 PM |
When using Chrome here’s another icon lower right of each post (on phone right now and can’t remember what it looks like) that will bring up the ww/ff/block icons when you want them.

Never knew about the pop-ups
What about the "Greyed out" posts? DOes that mean a certain number of peoplel FF'd them?
And what about when a post has red text saying "the _____ Troll?" Who is doing that?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 6, 2019 7:25 PM |
I've been here for a while and have similar questions.
When I hit W/W both it and F/F tabs go off. I never F/F posters. Am I doing that anyway?
If people are crazy or just assholes I just bock them.
Also the grey line thing. You can still read it so what's the point?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 6, 2019 7:36 PM |
You can't W&W and F&F the same post (makes sense). So if you hit one or the other, both go off.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 6, 2019 7:38 PM |
You don’t get notifications on the phone
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 6, 2019 7:39 PM |
How do you turn on notifications?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 5, 2019 11:18 AM |
Go to the address bar, r23, and click on the green lock. A dropdown will direct you to "Permissions." From there, select "Send Notifications."
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 5, 2019 11:21 AM |
W/W is for Weight Watchers and ff means French Fries... it's an in joke... when you like a post, you hit ff, because everybody likes French Fries, even though they're not very good for you.
But please keep your recipes to the recipe subform. Welcome! Have a blessed day!

r23 Depends on which browser you use. But generally, it goes something like what r24 described. Also, you're automatically prompted the first time you receive a WW if you want to enable notifications, so you don't even need to do that in most cases.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 5, 2019 11:23 AM |
Thanks, r24.

Receiving W&Ws from you gurls is one of the highlights of my day. The other is my breakfast martini.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 5, 2019 11:26 AM |
I thought WW stood for witty Whore and FF for fucking fuck

What if I hit the wrong one by mistake? Can I undo it?
