This is a good example of the fact that these are people that work together, not necessarily close personally. Most fans seems disappointed that they may not be as close as the characters they play.

That was a good documentary, OP.John Ritter was great as narrater. I like Bea's funny comments,also.I wonder if John had done any others like this.

I googled as I should have in the first place.Here is a list of the " Intimate Portrait" episodes.They have one on Jackie O and another on Rose Kennedy.They do a good job explaining the story without unnecessary information.

It's sad,but other than Bea and Rue,I don't think they all liked each other very much.I know Bea called Betty the C word,but why? It's a bitch to not like your coworkers. I think Estelle and Rue had no enemies. Betty and Bea were the hard ones to get along with.

Bea is a nice lady, I think that Betty is clearly the bitch. This is why Marty Tyler Moore only had her on a recurring basis.

Betty does come across as a bit passive-aggressive IMO.

I watched an interview with Rue, Betty and the writers and Betty often makes cutting little comments disguised as witty remarks which clearly piss Rue and others off.

R5 I’m confused, this video wasn’t Intimate Portrait (which I’ve seen). Sound-a-like Valerie Harper narrated Estelle’s so I guess she didn’t mind the GG jokes. Alex trebeck narrated Betty’s. No one narrated Beas, but that was because they had gotten rid of celebrity narrators by then — not because she had no friends.
