Tasteful friends, this is what 3+ million will get you in St. Louis

What say you?

Are we sure picture 21 of 24 is from the same house? Completely different vibe / design aesthetic of every single other room.

Does the furniture come with it?

by Anonymousreply 2December 1, 2015 4:30 AM

Frankly, for St. Louis, I would think one would get a HELL of a lot more!

by Anonymousreply 3December 1, 2015 4:54 AM

It's almost $4 million, not 3+million.

by Anonymousreply 4December 1, 2015 5:00 AM

Does the pool come with the water?

by Anonymousreply 5December 1, 2015 5:54 AM

I love the house and mist furniture, but there are too many different decotating styles going on. The decoraor was going for an eclectic style, but misses on putting various patterns and colors together. Also, I'd have to live in St. Louis, so no, not for me.

[R6] here. Sorry for all of the typos above. I really can spell. It's very late, and I should be asleep.

by Anonymousreply 7December 1, 2015 8:37 AM

What a strange mix. There are some sophisticated decorating choices thrown together with really ugly kitschy stuff.

by Anonymousreply 8December 1, 2015 9:41 AM

Low ceilings.

Meh grandeur.

by Anonymousreply 9December 1, 2015 9:43 AM

In fairness, it actually does look like one would expect a four million dollar house to look (although I agree with r3 that you'd have to pay someone that much to get them to move to St. Louis).

Even the decor is all right except for that nasty overdone dining room.

by Anonymousreply 10December 1, 2015 1:59 PM

I agree with R1 and R3 and R9 but it looks beautiful. I was wondering how many employers the owner needs to keep it clean and in shape?

by Anonymousreply 11December 1, 2015 2:27 PM

I am guessing only one employer, R11: the owner.

by Anonymousreply 12December 1, 2015 2:51 PM

I think the design is all done by a staging company. They probably had godawful gilt crap in there.

by Anonymousreply 13December 1, 2015 2:55 PM

The rooms are "eclectic" but I don't understand the dining room in context of the rest of the house. How odd. The Ikea curtains and pillows in the wood paneled room at #10 are also very odd. Why no pictures of the bathrooms or kitchen?

by Anonymousreply 14December 1, 2015 3:19 PM

It's in St. Louis. I'll pass. Anything similar in Tajikistan?

by Anonymousreply 15December 1, 2015 3:58 PM

At least it's not Detroit.

by Anonymousreply 16December 1, 2015 7:48 PM

In Detroit it would be 300K tops.

by Anonymousreply 17December 1, 2015 7:53 PM

R12 Meant to write employees.

by Anonymousreply 18December 1, 2015 9:50 PM

In Altoona it might be $50,000 max.

by Anonymousreply 19December 1, 2015 11:07 PM

Good lord people it's HIDEOUS! A tear-down! The staging company obviously had to drag it out of the nineteenth century with a few contemporary 'pieces' but in the end it's just comes off as a train wreck. A green ceiling! Green!

by Anonymousreply 20December 2, 2015 12:09 AM

The photo that doesn't belong is of the building by the tennis court, not the main house.

by Anonymousreply 21December 2, 2015 12:20 AM

They probably call it the "pavilion"

by Anonymousreply 22December 2, 2015 12:21 AM

Strange to have all those vastly different decorating styles in one house.

In the photo looking down toward the pool, it looks like someone left an aerosol can of something in the shot.

by Anonymousreply 23December 2, 2015 12:26 AM

I quit looking at the photos after the third or fourth one. The entrance hall is awful and the whole thing looks too dated.

by Anonymousreply 24December 2, 2015 12:27 AM

Ladue is hardly St. Louis as it's thought of by the coastal media elites. It's West St. Louis County, and several billionaires and a handful of billionaire families live there. The median net worth of Ladue residents is well over a million dollars. I know, I protest too much.

Also, the photo at r1 is the pool house.

by Anonymousreply 25December 2, 2015 12:31 AM

Does ot come with #blacklivesmatter?

by Anonymousreply 26December 2, 2015 1:02 AM

Is it Ferguson-adjacent?

by Anonymousreply 27December 2, 2015 1:32 AM

Gorgeous.
