Most witnesses said they didn't mind the shots at first because they sounded like simple firecrackers. Plus they couldn't really see where they came from well.

And the uncensored version of the 'dangling girl' video is also scary as hell. It's hard to imagine something like this can actually happen to you in real life.

i wonder what happened to the guy in the other window, the other victims being pulled away, and the ones lying near the door.

i feel like the world is so desensitized due to violence in the movies and video games. some of the survivors said that it didn't seem real. it seemed like a movie.

well, it's not a movie. it's real and this is what happened in paris.

i guess i'm just trying to understand how human beings can do this to other human beings.

watching the back alley footage gave me hope that people were able to escape death.

that said, i can't watch any of the beheading footage.

I can't even begin to imagine what the Parisians who were working that Friday afternoon felt like. On the one hand, fleeing to go home puts you in even more danger because you have to navigate the city streets, but staying put in lockdown makes you just as vulnerable. Then, there also is the matter of frantically contacting loved ones. I haven't felt this way since 9-11. I think the worst part about it is how numb I am to all of this already, to the point where I even find myself scoping exits when I am at in large crowds.

i think what it shows is that jesse hughes' girlfriend was videotaping the band with her cell phone but then releases that her battery is cutting out. you hear her say something about 4 left. the band had been playing for 40 minutes. videotaping runs out a battery faster than taking stills.

then, it looks like she starts walking down a corridor to go back to the green room or to go to side of the stage and is walking behind one terrorists who is about to enter the main floor. he is dressed in black and has a backpack.

i just saw on sky news that one of the terrorists at the bataclan was a white european guy with blonde hair.

The guy with the beard (Dave Catching) stands still in shock, the drummer ducks down, and Jesse Hughes (lead singer) runs off immediately. It's interesting they reacted so differently.

In the "dangling girl" video the way everyone just walks over the bodies is creepy although obviously understandable. The people dragging who I presume are their friends are heartbreaking. The whole thing was hard to watch.

I feel like I sound aspie or something. I always think I can handle watching these types of videos and then I realize I can't.

This always trips me out. You're so used to Hollywood special effects and sounds that you expect gunfire to be BOOM but it often sounds like fireworks.

I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008, and on my second night there was a firefight about 100 feet from my tent. What struck me is how it took at least 10-15 seconds for my brain to acknowledge rapid fire popping noises aren't normal at 7pm. That's what's particularly heartbreaking...people heard the noises but gunfire doesn't sound like what you expect from movies and video games.

I really wish we could go back to a simpler time when the only person dangling out of a window in Europe was Blanket Jackson.

Regarding fireworks. It's been non stop in London for the last month now (Halloween, Guy Fawkes, Diwali), but last night in Wood Green/Alexandra Palace the fireworks went on for hours, just 24 hours after the Paris atrocities. It is unnerving. Show some fucking respect.
