When she died, a light in America's soul went out forever. This flickering light of beauty and grace was in turn enlarged by the Eternal Flame of her husband, reunited after 30 years apart.
I burst into tears of grief and anguish just thinking about Jackie Kennedy Onassis' death.

MARY!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 7, 2015 6:22 AM |
I laugh.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 7, 2015 6:23 AM |
Are you wearing a caftan and earrings while you forlornly sob, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 7, 2015 6:36 AM |
If any post deserved a "Mary!" it's this one. Glad R2 was on it.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 7, 2015 6:38 AM |
Yes R3, in my custom made pillbox hat replica
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 7, 2015 6:41 AM |
We must get you some big, round black sunglasses, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 7, 2015 7:17 AM |
Sounds like OP needs some assistance tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 7, 2015 7:50 AM |
OP, You must get away to Hyannis Port immediately. You needs some rest and relaxation. A little sailing, perhaps?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 7, 2015 7:58 AM |
I have a friend who claims that he cried for FOUR DAYS when "Zhackleen" (as he insists on pronouncing it) died. I believe it too.and mock him for it.

I suppose the OP is trying to be funny. He isn't.
I couldn't have cared less when Jackie O died. She was a snotty, stuck-up wildly materialistic ice queen.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 21, 2015 2:45 AM |
She sure saw the extent of human cruelty that day. She must have re-lived that event in her sleep for a long time. If I can still re-live or be haunted in my dreams over an incident (forced move to another continent) that happened 25 years ago, she sure as heck must have had a few true-to-life nightmares. Dreams are the one area where you are forced to yield to your subconscious as it tries to process that which you 'successfully' repress during waking hours.

Did you know her personally? Why would a grown man cry over a public figure from decades ago? It must suck to be on SSD, not mobile and require home health assistance. I could maybe see occasional reminiscent thoughts when your chair is rolled to face the window. But bursting into tears and grief?
Go volunteer in a burn unit in a hospital one day a week. You'll then better understand tears and grief.

I admired the work JBKO started as First Lady. The rest is her own business.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 21, 2015 1:13 PM |
Her death at that time was a blessing of sorts, can you imagine if she had lived to see her son die also?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 1, 2016 1:45 AM |
I wonder if her bush was full to the end, or if the chemo necessitated a merkin.

In that entire extended family I find that the interesting one was Athina Onassis de Miranda, the step-grand daughter. Reputed to be worth 3 Bil now.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 1, 2016 1:54 AM |
OP How long to it take you to come up with this unamusing piece of fiction?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 1, 2016 5:16 PM |
I still can't believe JFK had the nerve to bleed all over that gorgeous pink suit!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 1, 2016 10:05 PM |
I bet Jackie would have divorced JFK after the White House. Her kind can never make do with 1 husband and she wanted more more more more money. Her mother poisoned her that way. Plus she was a LOT more sophisticated than the Kennedy's.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 1, 2016 10:23 PM |
R2 is a dick.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 19, 2020 1:00 AM |
No, R20, they may have led separate lives, but, as she recognized when she decided to be buried next to JFK, her place in history was as the wife of Pres. Kennedy.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 19, 2020 1:42 AM |
Fuck off R22 for digging up a dumb thread with an even dumber reply.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 19, 2020 1:44 AM |
Oops, meant R21. Sorry R22 - typo!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 19, 2020 1:46 AM |
2015, you’re back!

[quote] reunited after 30 years apart.
Reunited? Hell JFK is probably cheating on Jackie in the afterlife if that is at all possible.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 19, 2020 2:23 AM |
R16 Looks like she was a member of the law firm Bush and Mullet
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 19, 2020 2:33 AM |
How coincidental; I just watched the entire Princess Diana funeral today on Youtube.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 19, 2020 2:36 AM |
How could you feel grief over someone who cared nothing for anyone but herself? All that money and no activism whatsoever. Not even for wildlife or the environment. Sure she was well dressed but so were nearly all of the wealthy women and men of Jackies' era.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 19, 2020 2:45 AM |
Jackie got her millions from the Onassis estate and lived a nice quiet life.
Nothing wrong with that.
