Canada's New Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Is Super Hot
Well, hello there! Canada’s new prime minister, Justin Trudeau, has sent the Internet into a frenzy.
The 43-year-old was elected as the next prime minister after winning the majority vote over incumbent Stephen Harper on Monday, Oct. 19, and Americans took note of the tall, dark, and handsome man.
“My girlfriends and I are all moving to Canada because GOD DAYUM,” one eligible bachelorette tweeted, while another added: “Congrats to Canada for electing the first edible prime minister.”
In case you’re wondering, Trudeau isn’t just the hottest PM to be crowned. Once he’s sworn in next month, at 43, he’ll be the second youngest person to hold the title, as well as the first son of a former prime minister to hold the position. He’s also put those good looks to work before and starred in a two-part CBC miniseries titled The Great War, and also successfully competed — shirtless — in a charity boxing event in 2012.
And, sorry, we hate to break the news, but he’s been married for a decade to a woman named Sophie Gregoire, and they have three children together.

He's too politically dangerous to the good people of Canada to be "hot". Speak out there and you get in trouble. He's just there to do what the Queen of England wants. He is one of her prime ministers. And look what trouble GB is in. She supposedly has 33 Trillion dollars too. [quote]Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to make history by marching in Toronto Pride Parade
23 February 2016
Justin Trudeau will become the first sitting Canadian prime minister to march in the Toronto Pride parade, organizers said Monday (22 February).
Trudeau, 44, is a passionate advocate for LGBTI rights who had already marched in the pride parade before his ascended to office last October.
‘Very much look forward to being there again, this time as PM,’ Trudeau tweeted.
The parade is scheduled to take place on 3 July. Toronto’s first-ever Pride Month will launch on 1 June and will have the theme of ‘belonging and inclusion.’
In his 2104 memoir, Common Ground, Trudeau said gay marriage, abortion and legalizing marijuana were his ‘core principles’ and that he would not ‘simply pander’ to his opponents but had to ‘adhere to my own views.’
During his campaign, Trudeau pledged to introduce legislation to add gender identity to the Canadian Human Rights Act and the hate crime provisions of the Criminal Code, and end a ban on gay blood and organ donations, which was expanded under Canada’s long-time Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
It was last October that Trudeau ousted Harper in a surprise victory after his Liberal Party won 54% of the seats in parliament.
The son of former PM Pierre Trudeau is the second youngest leader in the country’s history and has vowed to appoint more LGBTI people to government.

The Prime Minister is the head of the Government in a Parliamentary system (eg. Canada, UK, Australia, etc.) whereas a President holds a different Constitutional position within a Presidential system.

by Anonymous | reply 65 | March 3, 2016 6:17 PM

R60 In the United States the President is both the Head of State and the Head of Government. In Canada (which inherited its political system from Britain) the roles of Head of State and Head of Government are two separate offices. In Canada Queen Elizabeth II is the Head of State and the Prime Minister is the Head of Government. The Prime Minister is responsible for the running of the country while the Queen - who is rarely actually in Canada and is therefore represented by a Governor General - is largely the symbolic head of the country who performs all the ceremonial functions of a Head of State like receiving ambassadors or inspecting troops or cutting ribbons at new hospitals.
There is really no American equivalent for a Prime Minister besides saying he is half of the President.

[quote]Harper let Sussex Drive go to pot
To give that sick, twisted shit of a human being due credit, Harper didn't personally cause the damage. There have been problems for a long time.
Around the time it was announced that Trudeau would move into Rideau Cottage, his mother was interviewed regarding the issue. She said that 24 Sussex was falling to bits when she lived there over 40 years ago. The problem has been that our Prime Ministers, one after another, haven't wanted to be inconvenienced by moving to accommodate the repairs that were needed.
Of course, in Harper's case, there was probably a good measure of "this is MY house and I'm not leaving SO THERE!" thrown in.

R132 The mini covered soup tureens (in Hawaiian Blue colors) were acquired by the White House in Spring 2015. They couldn't use them for the China State dinner in September .2015 because In Chinese culture they prefer bowls.
I think the mini covered soup tureens are a first in the White House china collection. Unfortunately, they are rather plain looking. It would be nicer if they had a more intricate design rather than just a blue band around it.
They probably will have limited uses. They are too big for soup and too narrow and deep for use of fork and knife.

Justin Trudeau, the man/boy, seems to have never had an original idea in his life nor any discernible vision of the country that drives his politics. No matter how long he is on the scene as a potential PM I cannot get past reacting to him as if he is an MC at a high school prom.
He is all artifice. More than any Liberal party leader in the past 35 years Trudeau is an empty vessel with little choice but to be filled up by his party’s corporate brain trust.
Bay Street desperately wants back into the game and the Liberals are their only option. While they have been given lots of goodies by Harper, they have been cut off from their historic role as the principal source of federal policy making. (Harper doesn’t care what they think.) In addition, the federal bureaucracy has been made to reflect the ideology of pro-business “efficiency” to such an extent over the past 20 years a genuine small-l liberal would have to replace most of it to get any advice contrary to the status-quo.
Justin doesn’t have a chance. The promises he makes will not be his to keep.

In R199 again, Trudeau leans-in, I see. He's got charisma. Not great looking, really. But he has "it".

I believe that usually, a big shot will stay at their own embassy. I believe the Queen (Liz of the U.K.) stayed at her embassy, not at the White House as stated up thread. She's been here a lot, so perhaps she did both?
Presidents, PMs, other grand poobas have to be cautious of listening devices and such, so it makes sense for most to stay on home turf. Canada is like family, though, so they can safely stay anywhere, maybe. Or maybe they figure we already have listened-in on everything, so it doesn't matter where they stay.

R280 I have a friend who is an on-air reporter for one of the networks here in Canada -I will not name this person- who has told me several times it's well know that the Trudeau marriage is fairly open and that Trudeau's interests aren't exclusive to women. There's been hints in the media before that Trudeau isn't elusively hetero but those disappeared when he ran for Parliament. The Canadian Media is very hesitant about reporting on politicians private lives.

There were certainly rumors about Justin's orientation a decade or so back before he got married to Sophie, and there were a couple threads here last year where guys claimed to have had oral sex with him, but there's never been any proof.
With Justin & Sophie living a high-profile life and having 3 small children, I find it hard to believe that their marriage would be quite as open as your source claims.

The thing is, he's a bad actor. I mean he's not Prime Ministerial material, but everyone know s that and doesn't care because you don't necessarily have to be deep to be the leader of a country, you just have to be a puppet for the party, which is fine, and the Liberals needed to win so they went with the Trudeau name in a desparate reach for power. But now, he's on the world stage, and he's just so transparently phoney all the time. He needs to become a better actor. Not a better politician or leader because he doesn't have that in him, ever, but he needs to be a better actor and oh, learn how to dress, my god! I want to follow up on the topic early about Justin Trudeau's possible bisexuality, his marriage and his cheating. My ex-boyfriend was and continues to be very involved with the Liberal Party - in fact he is on a shortlist of possible future candidates to run for MPP in Toronto for the Ontario Liberals (in fact that is one the reasons we broke up, he wanted a trophy husband for his future political life). It was always known Justin was going to eventually become the federal Liberal leader, and hopefully Prime Minister, but no one expected it to happen so soon. It largely happened as a result of the decline of the Liberals starting with Paul Martin followed by the disastrous leaderships of Stephane Dion and then Michael Ignatieff. Trudeau was seen as the man who could re-brand and save the Liberal Party and try to recapture the magic surrounding his father. When the 2015 election started most people within the Liberals believed the best outcome would be becoming the official opposition no one ... I think even Trudeau himself... expect him to become PM with a big majority.
My ex is close to people working for Trudeau and back when were dating (this would have been 2010 to 2014) most people knew or at least had heard the gossip that Trudeau has a wondering eye and that it included men too. Members of the media are aware of this but like others have said most media in Canada never reports on a politician's sex life...that has to do with money and lobbying. Also Trudeau's wife is not popular among his staff and people within the party. She is a former model and TV personality who loves the limelight her marriage to Trudeau while authentic serves them both very well.

I think they're both bearding for each other. There have been rumors about her also. At least she admitted to his cheating in a roundabout way. You'd never hear of such honesty in the States and other places. The rumors have been rampant about him. I see him more with a man than a woman. If true bisexuals exist then he is the poster child. It's not a big deal up there. They don't call it Queerbec for nothing, you know.

Considering how much Harper seemed to hate Trudeau, I think if there was any gossip to be found, Harper would have ensured it was made public.
Hillary must be using Trudeau's election notes. In her rally today she said that diversity is a strength, not a weakness. Isn't that what Trudeau said, word for word?

R415 As much as Harper hates Trudeau, there is no way he would air Trudeau's dirty laundry in public because it would mean he'd have to be prepared for his own dirty laundry to be aired in public too. Like others have said, the mainstream Canadian media rarely reports on the personal lives on politicians largely because the mainstream media in this country is owned by organizations with strong ties to all parties in Ottawa. I remember when Norman Spector published an article in the Globe&Mail that touched upon the state of the Harper marriage, it was pulled within an hour of its publication and all traces of it deleted from the GM site.
I have no idea if Trudeau is bi but all I know is there have been rumours following him long before he entered politics.

[quote]Canada's golden boy - the emergence of Justin Trudeau
The boy(band)ish good looks, the wispy curling locks, the down-to-the-pavement charm, Canada had known all of that for many years now. But the relentless optimism, the renewed openness, the Sunny Ways slogan that his Liberal Party trumpeted throughout last autumn's campaign struck a new chord with the country as Trudeau went from last to first in a whirlwind triumph that bore more than a few similarities with Barack Obama's 2008 breakthrough.

[quote]Internet abuzz after quantum computing lesson by Canada's Trudeau
Reuters
April 17, 2016
TORONTO (Reuters) - The Internet was abuzz with praise for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Saturday after clips showing him schooling a reporter on quantum computing went viral.
While political opponents learned a lesson about underestimating the photogenic Trudeau, 44, during last year’s surprise electoral upset, the unnamed reporter fell into the same trap during an event at a Canadian research institute on Friday when he jokingly tested the former teacher's knowledge.
Trudeau’s explanation on quantum computing generated cheers and applause from the room and set social media abuzz.
"I was like YEAHH I voted for this guy," said a Twitter user with the handle @smoakoverwatch.
Canadian writer Anakana Schofield tweeted about the reporter's experience: "This is what teenagers call 'getting owned,'" using a colloquial expression for utter defeat.
The exchange began when the reporter told Trudeau: “Morning, sir, I was going to ask you to explain quantum computing" but quickly added a question on when the prime minister expected Canada to resume its mission against Islamic State militants occupying parts of Iraq and Syria.
Trudeau immediately shot back with an explanation on quantum computers, explaining how they do not operate on the principles of conventional physics and are more powerful than current mainstream computers.

He is going to legalize pot soon! Damn Canada really is a liberal paradise. They just legalized doctor assisted dying for those who suffer from illnesses and want to die in a dignified manner. It's THEIR choice, it's not up to us to deny them that choice. We have no idea how it's like for them. If we can allow to put our pets down when they are ill, humans should be able to have that choice as well when it comes to their own lives.
I like that Canada has very respectful and thoughtful stances on many issues, like pot, doctor assisted dying, universal health care etc. The only thing I disagree with them on is forcing French on English speakers and shaming them because they don't know French when the French people themselves refuse to speak English, and actually deny English services in Quebec, even report them to the fascist language police if they just see an English sign in a restaurant. An "open/closed" sign is not allowed, neither is naming a dish "fish and chips", you see it must be in French! All menus, signs etc all over Quebec must be in French. They never signed the constitution though so they are perfectly allowed to deny English people service in their preferred language. Oh yeah, and remember that time a father was denied buying his daughter a doll, because the doll was only in English, and not in French! They were NOT allowed to sell ANY English items! Ah, good times. Oh, and btw.. before you give me that "they need to preserve their language". There's thriving French communities all over Canada, in for example Winnipeg, the rest of Manitoba and Edmonton to name a few. They didn't need some archaic language laws to thrive, so using that argument on Quebec just won't fly. It's offensive and unnecessary. You do not get a point across by forcing people to comply, sorry it just won't work. It should be possible to promote and preserve French culture without banning English, Ottawa for example are mostly bilingual.

[quote][Oh yeah, and remember that time a father was denied buying his daughter a doll, because the doll was only in English, and not in French! They were NOT allowed to sell ANY English items! Ah, good times.
If they're not allowed to sell any English items, why was there an English doll for sale?

They might not have as close a relationship as Trudeau & Obama, but I certainly think Trudeau would prefer Hillary over Trump.

Quebec language laws give French predominance.
English products can be sold as long as there is an equivalent product in French.

Why does he always have such great chemistry with guys? Seriously.. sometimes I'm baffled this guy is completely straight. He comes across as bisexual to me, or at the very least heteroflexible.

R555 & 556 I've posted about this before (might even be on this Thread) but my ex-partner is a big player in the Ontario Liberal Party - in fact he's being considered as a possible 2018 election candidate for Toronto Centre as Glen Murray is standing down in 2018, or Toronto-Danforth. My ex said that it was a known fact within Liberal circles that Trudeau swings both ways and that the media - which in Canada doesn't like to report on politicians private lives - knows it as well. My ex also said that Trudeau gets around and wouldn't be surprised if there was ever a Bill Clinton like scandal involving him down the road - that theory seems to be bolstered by the fact his wife has all but confirmed that Trudeau has cheated on her at least once.

It wouldn't surprise me, R558.
Trudeau comes from a sexually liberal family.
Plus he is hit on by thousands of women (and probably some men) every day.

I don't know if this guy is still around, there is a guy who posted on a couple Trudeau threads that he is friends with a now Anglican Priest who has told him several times that he made out with Trudeau at a party in Vancouver when Trudeau was getting his Bachelors of Education there.
