Yeah, the kids went out of their way to get watermelon in October to send to a mostly black school -- they had to include watermelon gum to get "enough" watermelon in there to make their point.
Personally, I would have spoken to the school and said this "sportsmanship" thing just needs to be called off. If no adult is supervising the gift giving then it's stupid to keep doing it.
