Gay-for-pay porn is...real or fantasy?

Well?

by Anonymousreply 58December 7, 2021 12:47 PM

Fantasy. They are really gay and not bi or straight.

by Anonymousreply 1October 11, 2015 7:31 PM

You are who you fuck for free.

by Anonymousreply 2October 11, 2015 7:31 PM

Oh my R2.

by Anonymousreply 3October 11, 2015 7:32 PM

Mostly marketing to make the product (the performers) look more desirable to a part of the audience, which may or may not have self loathing tendencies, aching for a (straight acting) alpha male to join their gay ranks.

by Anonymousreply 4October 11, 2015 7:39 PM

The gays like Non-flaming gay porn stars

by Anonymousreply 5October 11, 2015 7:44 PM

Are guys who claim to be "gay-for-pay" sane? A lot of them seem to end up in prison or dead.

by Anonymousreply 6October 11, 2015 7:44 PM

So problematic.

Is there the opposite? Homosexual guys doing Straight4Pay?

by Anonymousreply 7October 11, 2015 8:06 PM

I don't think so. There are "straight" male pirn stars who escort with men but they did gay porn prior to straight porn.

by Anonymousreply 8October 11, 2015 8:09 PM

Sometimes a fantasy...

by Anonymousreply 9October 11, 2015 8:17 PM

Fuck, I always hated that song

by Anonymousreply 10October 11, 2015 8:37 PM

Well, it's real porn.

by Anonymousreply 11October 11, 2015 8:43 PM

Good point R11

by Anonymousreply 12October 11, 2015 11:17 PM

Can we call it a gray area?

I am sure a lot of these guys believe themselves to be fully hetero and just having gay sex for money. Whether that's true or not, whether they are bisexual (and to what degree) is something we can't determine without knowing them.

And R7, you could argue that all the closeted guys who married a woman for the social position and notion that it would help them career-wise, are straight-for-pay.

by Anonymousreply 13October 11, 2015 11:21 PM

Many gay men have come out because they knew they were not going to be able to get an erection to have sex with a girlfriend. How do some do to get one when they don't feel attracted to women? Perhaps they are not entirely homosexual, perhaps they are bisexual just more inclined towards men, but at least having a minimal attraction to the opposite sex is enough for them to get hard with women...

It would be interesting to read any studies on this topic.

by Anonymousreply 14October 11, 2015 11:35 PM

Porn is acting. There are lots of behind the scenes stuff that can get a guy hard. From pills to shots to fluffers. The problem arises when that straight has no chemistry with another guy- straight or gay. There the scene itself fails to be exciting. So I'd saying you are gay for pay is working for you great. But you are probably a lousy porn actor with that moniker. And you can't act chemistry. That is the erotic center. That's what heightens the sex from being boring.

by Anonymousreply 15October 13, 2015 10:56 PM

Gay Porn sites that "recruit" straight guys are very good at their jobs.

1) Start with a solo. Have them meet a few of the other cool straight "bros" who do gay porn and talk it up. Easy Money

2) Have the straight guy get sucked off. (just close your eyes or watch the straight porn) A mouth is a mouth. More Money

3) Have the straight guy fuck one of the "bros" that they've bonded with. (no big deal, we all do it. It won't make you gay) Even More Money.

4) Have the straight guy bottom. Maximum Money.

The straight guy has now been "turned out" much the same way a hooker is.

5) The Closer. There are 2 types of people in the world. Those who have made gay porn, and those who haven't. You already have. Nobody cares if you have made 1 scene or 100. Might as well keep cashing those checks.

by Anonymousreply 16October 13, 2015 11:06 PM

It would be interesting to know if there are or have been homosexual men who have done straight4pay. Technically there shouldn't be any problem for a homosexual guy to perform sexually with women just for money if we are observing the same phenomenon from heterosexual men...

by Anonymousreply 17October 14, 2015 4:16 AM

He basically calls same-sex prostitution "dark side" of bodybuilding.

I wonder if he would call heterosexual bodybuilders doing heterosexual prostitution (which also exists in bodybuilding) the dark side of bodybuilding...

These men never address the topic of heterosexual prostitution among bodybuilders so you can safely assume they see it as not morally questionable.

Gay men who belive in gay pay are usually the most self loathing out there. Usually, in HS, some dumb straight jock rejected them and since then, the only way to overcome that, is to land a dumb straight jock.

I've never had sex w a woman but during my college years I escorted and did the gay pay thing. It was great, since as a "straight" guy I wasn't expected to do anything except get my dick sucked. Meanwhile the gay escorts got paid less and had to do anal and kiss and give head. Most of my clients claimed to be married but as sessions went on, I'd find out they werent. Most would eventually also reveal some sad story about how the HS jock they knew traumatized them and that being with me resolved those issues.

I never did porn but know lots about the industry, and there's so much bs fantasy, I'm still surprised how many people buy into everything they say despite people constantly calling the shit out for what it is.

by Anonymousreply 19October 17, 2015 5:59 PM

All porn is fake.

by Anonymousreply 20October 17, 2015 6:22 PM

I usually have to watch gay porn with the sound turned off. ..... because once they start in with the gayoice it ruins the whole thing. And you know it's true.

by Anonymousreply 21October 17, 2015 6:27 PM

Tell us something more concrete, R19

What have you witnessed?

by Anonymousreply 22October 17, 2015 6:28 PM

Why won't anyone create a gay porn company featuring ONLY gay men? With so many people being sick of the gay for porn sh*t, watching guys who are not really into what they're doing. I'm sure a REAL gay porn company would be a huge hit.

by Anonymousreply 23October 25, 2015 8:18 AM

Yes r7 there are gays doing heterosexual porn

by Anonymousreply 24October 25, 2015 8:25 AM

Name a few, R24

by Anonymousreply 25October 25, 2015 10:52 PM

It's close!

by Anonymousreply 26October 27, 2015 6:59 PM

Bump!

by Anonymousreply 27October 27, 2015 8:33 PM

Bisexual erasure.

by Anonymousreply 28October 31, 2015 12:57 AM

Apparently all the HOT lesbians are in Porn.

...or they're hot straight girls who get paid to perform lesbian sex on camera.

by Anonymousreply 29October 31, 2015 1:00 AM

It's close. There are a lot of gullible (or self-loathing) or both....gay men on this site.

by Anonymousreply 30October 31, 2015 1:15 AM

It's real but the majority of g4p porn actors are still not straight, It's a very tiny subset of those I would consider straight

by Anonymousreply 31October 31, 2015 10:29 AM

It's funny how gay people weaken heterosexual men so much :P

by Anonymousreply 32October 31, 2015 11:01 AM

Why wouldn't they be bisexual R31? Why straight?

by Anonymousreply 33October 31, 2015 1:12 PM

Zeb Atlas says he's "sexual". I guess that's code for "I like boths genders but I'm afraid to state it explicitly". :P

I once watch a video of him doing it with a bald muscle guy and Zeb was really turned on by his partner.

by Anonymousreply 34November 1, 2015 4:36 AM

He's bisexual.

by Anonymousreply 35November 1, 2015 4:40 AM

Zeb Atlas: "I don't care for labels"

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 36November 2, 2015 3:19 AM

That's what so many gay or bisexual men say. You never hear a straight person saying such things. It's always the complete opposite.

by Anonymousreply 37November 2, 2015 3:34 AM

R6 fucked up mentally messed up sex is sex most end up and ARE GAY!

by Anonymousreply 38November 2, 2015 4:45 AM

"I don't like labels" = Not straight and afraid to admit that they kind of like men.

True cowards!

by Anonymousreply 39November 3, 2015 12:03 PM

That poll is close and that is scary.

by Anonymousreply 40November 3, 2015 12:46 PM

It is not hard to believe a man is heterosexual if what he does doesn't involve penetration.

by Anonymousreply 41November 3, 2015 1:39 PM

Cue "a hole is a hole" gay guys. ^^

Yet, "a hole is a hole" doesn't apply to gay men, just straight guys.

by Anonymousreply 42November 3, 2015 1:55 PM

I know a top who once had sex with a woman and he didn't like it. He's totally in love with a man's butt.

by Anonymousreply 43November 3, 2015 2:26 PM

For those questioning if there's ever been Straight4Pay actors, in the '70s there were several actors that did both gay and straight porn and were able to move back and forth without any real controversy. Some, like Jamie Gillis, were just plain openly bisexual. Some used different names for gay and straight porn (and of course you didn't have internet snooper-stalker-snitches like you do today) like Dennis Parker/Wade Nichols. Generally after the industry became aware of HIV, the only actors who had done gay porn that were still cast were those no longer doing gay porn. For what it's worth, busty blonde bombshell Seka apparently said in her biography that gay men were not uncommon in straight porn of the era for the fact that they could keep going a lot longer before hitting the money shot than a lot of the straight actors, that they would just have a gay porn mag just out of the shot of the camera. Yes, I know you're all saying "just a picture?!?" but people were nowhere near as desensitized to porn back then as they are now and most of the movies she's referring to were shot on film, meaning they generally would only pay to rent one 35mm camera, so whenever they went in for the closeup shots, he could be thumbing away through the pics with no one the wiser.

The one that I find the most interesting of all, though, is Zebexy Colt who was totally openly gay stage actor, and did do some gay porn but mostly did straight porn under the same name, for the reason that he said the scripts were better. And he was right, as well as bigger budgeted, shot on 35mm instead of 16mm, so not as cheap looking, and far more widely distributed. These were actual movies, though, not just a collection of "scenes", so some acting was required, and much like Jamie Gillis he played some very intense characters rather well, certainly by porn standards. He also wrote, directed, and acted in several straight films that were certainly nothing that the supposed "squeaky clean" porn studios of today would touch with a ten foot pole because they would give all the Disciples of Dworkin a stroke. He was clear that he was gay, not bisexual and he apparently was in a very long term monogamous relationship in his private life, did not succumb to HIV, and lived well into his '70s.

Before the shrieks of FOSSIL!!, I'm a Gen X'er interested in straight, gay, and bi adult films before everything devolved essentially back into loops.

by Anonymousreply 44November 3, 2015 3:01 PM

What year were you born GEN Xer? 1970?

by Anonymousreply 45November 3, 2015 3:17 PM

Fantasy of course. At best they're straight-identified, but they are not straight. Many of them are actually gay (some quite openly), closeted and/or genuinely bi, and in varying degrees on the spectrum of denial/acceptance.

Even if some of them are actual straight men who are only performing due to dire financial reasons...they're still a little bi. And there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of us object to the "gay for pay" porn because it glorifies a gay/straight binary and assumes "straight" men will only have "gay" sex for money. I'd much rather watch an openly bi performer enjoy sex with men on its own merits. If we'd drop all these labels and just promote male-on-male sex as an enjoyable pastime for all, none of this would matter.

by Anonymousreply 46November 3, 2015 4:06 PM

R45 I'm 43. I gave an answer that was at least part of the picture for those that were asking- that yes, historically there has been some degree of Straight4Pay in porn, though much more so before HIV became a real issue within the porn industry. You didn't really care about the answer, though. I'm old to you, so what? I'll leave it to someone who knows better than I do to give a perspective on current straight porn.

by Anonymousreply 47November 3, 2015 11:07 PM

You are who you have sex with for free.

by Anonymousreply 48November 3, 2015 11:18 PM

I guess that after gay porn, bodybuilding must be second industry where gay4pay is very common.

I would never discard the possibility that gay4pay is in many, many cases the way in which men explore their non-heterosexual identity without having to deal and accept their non-heterosexual nature. The perfect excuse is that there is money involved so you were just "doing a job". After that you recover your heterosexual identity.

by Anonymousreply 49November 4, 2015 12:16 AM

[quote]Why won't anyone create a gay porn company featuring ONLY gay men? With so many people being sick of the gay for porn sh*t, watching guys who are not really into what they're doing. I'm sure a REAL gay porn company would be a huge hit.

I, for one, would love that.

by Anonymousreply 50November 4, 2015 8:34 AM

Perhaps there aren't enough openly homosexual and bisexual men who would ike to work in porn and that's why they resort to hetero men...

by Anonymousreply 51November 4, 2015 8:00 PM

Yes, Blu Kennedy, Jack Wrangler, Blake Harper and Blake Riley are just a few of the gay-oriented, gay-identified stars who've done straight-for-pay porn.

by Anonymousreply 52November 4, 2015 8:13 PM

There have been dozens of studies on this topic, r14. Google the ones on bisexuality by Northwestern University.

Stop presuming that every gay men is stuck with your weak abilities. Truth is, the hormones and equipment we're dealing with are all different.

Many gay men have higher testosterone levels, higher blood pressure and stronger, more sensitive cocks than you. It's not just different attractions that enable other men to perform better than you.

by Anonymousreply 53November 4, 2015 8:19 PM

People like you have poor social skills, R53

by Anonymousreply 54November 4, 2015 8:24 PM

Mostly fantasy. There are a couple real ones where the pornographer got arrested. "Straightboyz" is one if you can tolerate the gross bottom troll that ran it.

in interviews he has always stated sexuality is "fluid" and he doesn't like labels? okay, then but in all seriousness, what is his sexuality and label?
