I have most of Cadinot's oeuvre. He does have guys who appear to be over 25 occasionally, though not often enough. Although the overall look is usually great (apart from an overly set-bound middle period) and the cast is usually also great, purely as a director he has faults. Scenes are often too short and very jerkily edited, with no sense of flow. He overuses some performers and underutilises others - nice-looking though he is, did anyone seriously want to see another Lucien Lebrun scene after his 8 or 9 in Les Gamins de Paris? Cadinot also has a weird way of appearing to set up ongoing plots and then abandoning them quite randomly, and the films can just peter out, without the big final scene that the plot seemed to be setting up. Individual scenes are teased and even begun, then not completed, often with one of the underused guys, which is frustrating. There is usually a sort of cold-heartedness present, with rape scenes common and betrayal routine. Still he is a distinctive porn director and by some margin the best ever from France.
