late 60s, no spouse, no kids. Gay?
Teller of Penn & Teller

The silent one is gay. The loud one is so obnoxious no one will touch him, man or woman.

Yes, Teller is gay.

Penn acts like a perverted child molester. Looks like one, too.
Right-wing douchebags. Think Sandy Hoax was real. Idiots and cuntz.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 19, 2015 6:21 PM |
Yeah the loud one wishes he could be gay, but even man whores give him the brush off.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 19, 2015 6:33 PM |
Penn thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Always.

He once passed me a note "I can make your dick disappear in my ass."
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 19, 2015 6:38 PM |
I wonder if he makes a noise when he blows a load.

Teller should go by Won'tTeller.

I met Teller at the Vegas AIDS walk. Penn & Teller are always the captains of the Rio Hotel's team, which usually wins the fundraising trophy - yes, he talks. He's also very nice. Yes, he's gay. No secret.
Penn is straight and married with kids. I see him and his wife at Lotus of Siam (really good Thai restaurant in Vegas) on a semi-regular basis. Yeah, he's actually toned down in public and seems to be a friendly guy. Always stops to chat with people who recognize him. Never talked to him myself though.

Love Teller, who has no public political views outside the act that I know of.

Know them both. Penn and his wife are great people. Very caring and friendly and like r9 said very willing to speak to people in public. Teller is gay and open. Single last I knew.

[quote]Single last I knew.
I find that kind of sad. He seems like he'd be a nice boyfriend.

Sorry to revive a three year old thread however since 2010 and after more TV appearances here in the UK Penn and Teller have really taken off in popularity.
Having become a fan since 2010 especially of Teller who appears nice. I've wondered if he is gay like others have said throughout DL, his little mannerisms are quite cute and initially made me wonder. That said being a silent performer maybe his actions and little quirks have to be a little over the top and comical for him to stand out. His demeanour actually makes me think of a British band Placebo who have gay members and their lyrics from their song Nancy Boy 'comes across all shy and coy just another nancy boy'. That's how I'd some up his vibe though could be wrong. I noticed Teller has a lot of gay friends though again this doesn't have to be so transparent it is the entertainment industry after all.
If he is self closeted as others have said elsewhere in terms of not mentioning in print interviews etc and in public if not in denial privately I wonder why this is the case? As a 70 year old man who appears to have a nice personality is charming, talented and intelligent it seems a real shame.
Then again there was an episode of their show Fool US and a female magician had Teller perform the trick with her back to back and he lapped that up so is quite confusing.
I notice Penn doesn't refer in any way to Tellers sexuality either way when normally double acts over years can often make little private jokes about such things etc. The only thing Penn said in an interview I saw regarding sex was when they started out if either one wanted to have sex after cruising the area in their car once back at the motel/hotel the other person would have to walk the car park or go to a petrol station before coming back. This however was only quite vaguely spoken and the sex of the person wasn't mentioned.
Could it be a generational thing like Barry Manilow or Kevin Spacey if he is gay and keeping quiet about it in public? (In his case without the Spacey sleaze factor obviously just the secrecy in public element)
What are your thoughts?

Another thing I forgot to mention in my above post is I once saw one of their shows (not Bullshit) talking about virginity where they asked the crew and each other ages and though I can't remember Penn exactly though it was in his teens Teller flashed up 21 with his hands which Penn seemed initially taken aback by before saying this with a minor hesitation and Teller nodding at him before Penn moved onto other crew members.
This also makes me think he may be gay as it's often the case or it was in previous generations that some gay men lost their virginity later than heterosexual men for various reasons. It could be denial, religious guilt, lack of opportunity/want etc etc so this was another thing that made me wonder about Teller being gay.

So why is he so closeted then? Any ideas? I have wobdered this.
If so many claim to have spoken to him and say he's open in private. Why not publically? He is 70 years old for crying out loud not some young boyband member with a screaming girl demographic.
I now some will shoot back because it's nobodys business but I just don't understand secrecy, I suppose that's what I struggle with. Everyone should be free and open in life.

Two of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 5, 2018 5:12 PM |
I've heard that and I believe it.
However, I just don't understand the concept of being so open privately (if true) and not publically? It seems a bizarre and confusing way to live your life.
Especially at such an old age.

I love their series from a while back called “Bullshit” where they debunked charlatans and criticized stupid cultural practices like keeping green lawns in semi-arid climates. And yes - Teller is fantastically witty and erudite IRL, as the quiet ones often turn out to be.

First saw them live about 30 years ago at a small theater in NYC. Ended up sitting in the first row. They were very personable and shook people's hands as we exited the theater. One of my favorite live acts ever.

[r15] He’s not pretending to be straight, and he keeps his personal life private (smart man that he is) - so what exactly should he do? Swish around and incorporate camp into the act? Pull a bouquet of roses out of his ass? Maybe he doesn’t want to be known as “the gay one.” Also, flaunting his sexuality would not go over very well in the flyover states that made “Fool Us” a hit show.

Teller is gay and has had a long term partner called Gene. They look really happy in this picture!

Their stand on Catholicism and their support of atheism is great. I never heard they denied Sandy Hook. If that's true that's repugnant but I'd like to see a link.
