Hillary When Asked if She Wiped Her Server

A real pro would use canned air.

by Anonymousreply 1August 19, 2015 12:57 AM

OP probably thinks Donald Trump is the smartest person ever

by Anonymousreply 2August 19, 2015 12:59 AM

One, she is nearly 70. No one that age is that savvy with technology.

[quote]This is the smartest woman in the world?

What?! Says who?

When I think of the smartest people in the world I don't think of ANY politicians. Try mathematicians, physicists, scientists.

by Anonymousreply 3August 19, 2015 1:02 AM

When I read the thread & your comment - I had to think for a second myself...and I've been using computers since 1986. You wipe the memory... the "server" sounds physical...in my head... i'm not sure - but it took a second.

by Anonymousreply 4August 19, 2015 1:07 AM

Is anyone at all enthused about the prospect of Hillary as President?

Voting for the Iraq War should disqualify her from any serious person's vote if nothing else.

by Anonymousreply 5August 19, 2015 1:07 AM

I know. Hilarious. Like she even knows what a cloth is, let alone used it to wipe anything. That's what the little people are for.

by Anonymousreply 6August 19, 2015 1:08 AM

An orange pantsuit? Good Lord.

by Anonymousreply 7August 19, 2015 1:09 AM

"Voting for the Iraq War should disqualify her from any serious person's vote if nothing else."

Yeah, I guess the serious people all prefer war hawk Repugs.

by Anonymousreply 8August 19, 2015 1:09 AM

I don't care who wins. Whoever feels like it should vote tomorrow and let's be done with it. They can rule forever if I never have to watch anymore media coverage on politics ever again. It doesn't matter who wins. They are just the figurehead.

by Anonymousreply 9August 19, 2015 1:10 AM

She's a lying cunt.

by Anonymousreply 10August 19, 2015 1:11 AM

R8, Sanders, Paul, Trump were all against it.

by Anonymousreply 11August 19, 2015 1:12 AM

At least she has the orange pantsuit already. Now all she needs is the cankle chains and a commissary acount.

by Anonymousreply 12August 19, 2015 1:13 AM

On what earth is she considered the smartest woman?

by Anonymousreply 13August 19, 2015 1:15 AM

She needs to go back to the blue. This orange trend in general needs to go away. No one looks good in orange.

by Anonymousreply 14August 19, 2015 1:18 AM

Except the great pumpkin.

by Anonymousreply 15August 19, 2015 1:19 AM

She is smart, in an evil cunning way. Her answer was to deflect from the truth. Everything is collapsing around her. I kid of feel sorry for her. Someone even noted in another thread that she should be on suicide watch.

by Anonymousreply 16August 19, 2015 1:20 AM

Put me on Hillary's team. When I read that sentence I thought OP was talking about whoever waited on her.

by Anonymousreply 17August 19, 2015 1:22 AM

Libs think she is smart because she is a "strong woman". In fact, she is not all that smart. She is second behind Bill in everything, no matter how either one of them tries to play it.

by Anonymousreply 18August 19, 2015 1:22 AM

She is so distasteful. Such a repulsive cunt. No not what she said but what she is wearing. She is a fashion disaster of the highest order. Where the fuck is Mr Blackwell when you really need him?

by Anonymousreply 19August 19, 2015 1:23 AM

Yeah, r11, thinking people love Trump and take him seriously as a candidate. Btw, he didn't risk anything by saying he was against it since he wasn't an elected official at the time and still isn't

r18, your idea of a smart person is a kook like Rand Paul, so what the hell are you doing judging Clinton?

by Anonymousreply 20August 19, 2015 1:23 AM

OP is too simple to realize Hillary was being sarcastic. I saw the interview, too. One reporter was asking repetitive versions of similar questions and was taking-up a lot of everyone's limited time to question HRC.

When people criticize Hillary for nonsense as if it's a big deal, it's evidence that there is little to truly criticize.

by Anonymousreply 21August 19, 2015 1:28 AM

R18 source? Or is that just your opinion?

by Anonymousreply 22August 19, 2015 1:31 AM

Was the question about how she treats the butler's ass?

[quote] Having a war criminal as president isn't nice

It served us well.

by Anonymousreply 30August 19, 2015 2:38 AM

I think she's just great. She's been held to a different and higher standard than any other candidates, especially all men. She was wrong on her vote allowing GWB to go to war if he chose to (It was NOT a vote "to go to war"), and has discussed her vote since. At the time it was clearly the vote millions if not the majority of her constituents wanted here in NY after 9-11. Plus, it was a DOZEN years ago, and her voting record and actions since have been great as far as I'm concerned. I've met her at small events number of times and was more than impressed. She came prepared having done her homework. She also treated ALL of the help like VOTERS and not "the little people". I am happy with her policy positions.

Anyone who thinks Bernie can do even as well as Michael Dukakis did in 1988 is OUT OF THEIR MIND. The Bernie crowd seems determined to turn the country over to Scott Walker or Jeb Bush. I am not so suicidal.

by Anonymousreply 31August 19, 2015 2:40 AM

If it is any of your business, I only wipe with Cottonelle.

by Anonymousreply 32August 19, 2015 2:45 AM

Some "mistakes" you don't just get over. Yes it bloody well WAS a vote to go to war, R31. Everyone paying attention, everyone, knew this, we knew the claim Iraq was a threat to the US and had WMD was a lie. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. I was out in the streets protesting along with millions of others around the world.

Either Hillary is stupid, which she isn't, or she simply went along with Bush's lies out of expediency and the desire to look tough. How the hell can you be satisfied with "I was wrong".

Hillary voted to invade a country that had not attacked the US, on false premises. As a result, millions of Iraqi people are dead or displaced and ISIS threatens the Middle East. This shouldn't just disqualify her from office, it should land her in jail for war crimes. And that's the same standard I'd apply to every single one of them. Blaming her constituents because they were lied to is even worse.

by Anonymousreply 33August 19, 2015 2:51 AM

Agree with Reply 33. I also, for some very strange reason remember an outburst she hac in front of reporters - this was when she was newly appointed Secretary of State. The question made some oblique reference to what Mr Clinton would have done wrt some policy stance. And there she was in all her glory in the Middle East on stage in front of international journalists having a rather unbecoming meltdown "who cares what Bill would have done, I'm the Secretary of State now." I thought she was emotionally unequipped for that job and as for POTUS job, if the best response she can summon is wiping her server, she has never ever struck me as having the emotional fortitude and authentic demenour to carry that level of responsibility. Hillary's time is up. Go play with the grandkid and leave Bill alone with his blonde babe. She just seems stuck and you can see the stress is just starting to show through.

by Anonymousreply 34August 19, 2015 4:18 AM

Great r33 and r34. You are both helping Jeb(!) or Scott Walker be our next Bush President they way so many did in 2000. Talk about unforgivable!

by Anonymousreply 35August 19, 2015 4:22 AM

R34, What a chauvinistic statement to make about the most qualified person, male or female, to ever run for the presidency. You just don't like women.

by Anonymousreply 36August 19, 2015 4:22 AM

Nah, Trump's the man.

by Anonymousreply 37August 19, 2015 4:24 AM

by Anonymousreply 38August 19, 2015 4:43 AM

Jeb is comatose. He's just missing his favourite pillow when on the road that's all.

R34 - A bit hard to be "chauvinistic" when the writer is a woman. Hillary thinks she's being funny, clever, but she's also copping some serious heat over "wiped confidential" electronic messages.

by Anonymousreply 41August 19, 2015 5:01 AM

[quote] Trump may not be everybody's cup of tea, but his opinions are strong reality checks for any citizen concerned about the future.

Yes deporting 11 million immigrants and building a wall for which Mexico will pay are realistic.

Trump appeals to bigots because he's a bigot. Plain and simple. Just like the homophobic bigots who voted for G. W. Bush. Bush spoke out against gay marriage and that was all a certain segment of the population needed to hear. Twice they voted their prejudiced and cast their ballots for GW. They too were concerned citizens. Unfortunately, they weren't concerned enough about their own futures. Instead they were concerned about punishing gays and limiting future prospects for gays. Trumps bigot supporters have the same mindset. We know all know how things panned out with G.W. . The bigots couldn't stop progress and by twice electing Bush, they harmed themselves with their attempts. Left to their own devices Trump supporters would do the same thing. I just wish the Trump supporters would stop trying to spin, dress up and disguise their reason for supporting him. It's so tired.

by Anonymousreply 42August 19, 2015 5:21 AM

R35 perfectly sums up the 'lesser of two evils' mentality that means there isn't a cigarette paper's width between D and R.

by Anonymousreply 47August 19, 2015 10:46 AM

She was being facetious. Besides its a technical question that she may not actually know the answer to.

by Anonymousreply 48August 19, 2015 10:46 AM

[quote]there isn't a cigarette paper's width between D and R. Except for on the issues of progressive taxation, immigration, reproductive rights for women, gay rights, healthcare for all Americans, a safety net for low income Americans and foreign policy, you're exactly right!

by Anonymousreply 49August 19, 2015 11:00 AM

Both parties support mass illegal immigration, lowering taxes, both of them hate universal healthcare, both of them attack welfare, and both of them love Israel. Both of them are in the pockets of the banks and hedge funds. Hillary will bomb Iran the first chance she gets.

So what's the difference? Maybe gay rights?

by Anonymousreply 50August 19, 2015 11:09 AM

"smartest woman in the world"

Ahem.

by Anonymousreply 51August 19, 2015 11:09 AM

R42, thank you. I agree everything you said (and you said it perfectly). Donald Trump should only be President in a world in which Kim Kardashian is Secretary of State and NeNe Leakes is Speaker of the House. People have truly lost their fucking minds.

by Anonymousreply 52August 19, 2015 11:40 AM

[quote]Both parties support mass illegal immigration, lowering taxes, both of them hate universal healthcare, both of them attack welfare, and both of them love Israel. Both of them are in the pockets of the banks and hedge funds.

Pure bullshit. You clearly don't know a damn thing about American politics.

One party supports healthcare for all, women's reproductive rights, raising the taxes of the 1%, finding peaceful and diplomatic solutions to the middle east problem, gay marriage and easing the burdens of the middle class. The other one actively works against every single one of these positions.

by Anonymousreply 53August 19, 2015 11:48 AM

by Anonymousreply 54August 19, 2015 1:49 PM

She wasn't being serious. However she's really annoying me with her comments on this issue. These are the comments I want her to have ready.

I did the same thing Colin Powell did but you never heard the Republicans worry about it, did you?

The FBI, an independent, non-partisan organization, is handling this and I will be completely cleared of any wrongdoing. (She could have deflected this question with this comment)

I employed this mom-and-pop operation to run my server because I wanted to help small business.

R27, there are some Rethuglicans posting in this thread, they are terrified of Hillary because she can (and will) beat anyone they nominate. She also won't take any of their shit or try to be "nice" to them, the way President Obama was for (imo) too long. They know President Clinton always beat them at their own game and Hillary will do the same.

We also have one, maybe two, wannabe "socialists" who post here. Once Occupy Wall St. got shut down they were at a bit of a loss as to what to do. Instead of something useful, this moron spends his time here, ranting and raving at gay people. Like most of our truly batshit posters, he's probably been kicked off of other, more politically specific, websites.

I am looking forward to voting for Hillary Clinton for president - again. This time she'll win.

When sarcasm eludes someone, that someone is on the path to dementia or Alzheimers. Hilary's comment was hilarious...too bad she couldn't have said "What? How? You mean 'front to back'?"

by Anonymousreply 61August 19, 2015 5:40 PM

Hillary has known for a long time that she was going to run for POTUS. She seems like she doesn't know how to answer any of the questions put to her. She's had plenty of time to craft a logical response to everything that is thrown at her. And yet she stumbles with every response.

by Anonymousreply 62August 19, 2015 5:46 PM

Chris Hayes said on his show the other night that, as a member of the media, he can just feel those in his own industry rooting for her to fail. Though hardly a surprise, I still thought it a startlingly honest thing to say.

She's so incredibly careful not to say anything the teeny-tiniest bit potentially, maybe, possibly controversial or capable of being misconstrued as even hinting at a position (ask Teri Gross), and yet she's comedy good for not giving a fuck about what the cameras catch.

If I were running against her, I'd keep an ever-changing stack of cue-card like blow-ups of photos of her looking buffoonish, haughty, like a rabid jackal, like a Macy's Parade balloon about to burst... and just say "Oh, Hillary." as I flipped through the photos at random.

It's like she's Damian from The Omen. The right wing media (which BTW is practically ALL of it) is sitting with their daggers ready to stab Hillary! Nothing has changed in almost 25 years. Nothing.

The Republicans have nothing and nobody, so of course they're going after her to keep people at home. That's the way they win. Funny how John Ellis practically did the same thing as governor including purging voter rolls and the right and the so called liberal media have nothing to say...

by Anonymousreply 74August 19, 2015 6:29 PM

R74 Poor, little Hillary! The opposition is...opposing her! Reporters are reluctantly asking questions! It's all so unfair!

by Anonymousreply 75August 19, 2015 6:34 PM

R75 The 'opposition' (I call them what they are idiots but I digress) isn't asking her about anything relevant to her being in the White House. They certainly aren't asking the same questions to everyone else WHO DID THE SAME THING! Again see Jeb! for more details.

Notice they always ask if HRC is trustworthy, while giving EVERYONE ELSE a pass. And they're just as bad if not worse!

Flinging bullshit and opposition are two totally different things. But by all means, we have to kill her or else! Let the right take the election and Watergate, the Iraq war and the economic collapse of 2008 will seem quaint!

R76 She is a Presidential candidate. Of course she's being asked questions about her past choices in leadership roles. Of course Republicans are getting it, too, as they well should. Jeb isn't being asked the sorts of questions Trump is because Trump is polling higher. No on is asking Sanders the hard questions.

Clinton bouncing between victim posing and displaying smug arrogance is not going to help her at election time.

R74, you think the media is right wing? I'm starting a cult and you will be my first subject.

by Anonymousreply 100August 19, 2015 9:04 PM

The media is VERY right wing, always has been. The big Fixed News Rethuglican whine fest over the left wing media was nothing but bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 101August 19, 2015 9:28 PM

R101 Obama, himself, when discussing his personal view that importing people to thin-out the natives, changes Americainto a more Progressive (Left leaning). He said there are now 600 media channels, versus the big 3 or 4 there once was and one Conservative one "that all the conservatives watch". He made the statement himself.

by Anonymousreply 102August 19, 2015 9:33 PM

She pisses me off because she often appears to abandon Democrat principles in order to get things done. And she does so at the expense of her authenticity. Which is why many people don't trust her. It may be the way things work in Washington but some people manage to get along without losing their souls. Joe Biden works that system to the benefit of the American people but he does have a line that he will not cross. Obama has refused to play that game and we all know how that's worked out for him. Still, he held his ground, has had some spectaculaor wins, and will probably go down in history as not only the first AA president, but one of the greats. Hillary dug herself this hole by trusting younger, more tech savvy aides, who probably told her that it was perfectly fine to use her HOME IP server to conduct official gov'ment bizness. She's to blame because she handed her enemies the means to fuck her, and I don't mean just the Republicans, who never give up trying to put a Clinton in jail. No. I'm talking about the rumors that Valerie Jarrett leaked the e-mail story. Which means Obama is not feeling Hillary. At all. And is going to wait to see if she's the last one standing to endorse her. I hate bullies. Of any kind. I have to admit that she is starting to win my sympathy. She needs to push back and hard. Stop hiding behind campaign aides and the secret service. The more she tries to pretend that this isn't a major problem the more people think she has something to hide. Start swinging and don't worry so much about where those punches land. That's the first step.

by Anonymousreply 103August 19, 2015 9:58 PM

Good thing the Bitch likes to wear orange.

by Anonymousreply 104August 19, 2015 10:01 PM

R102, are you under the impression that I am President Obama or that I share every view he has down to the last detail?

There is more to right-wing media that Fixed News. The Nation is left-wing, Mother Jones, some websites, some of the shows on MSNBC (some not). The rest of the media is decidedly right-wing with some of it (like Fixed News) being extremist right wing. They count on corporate advertising for their money, what else would they be? It's not shocking in the slightest.

I'm not sure that you have a reasonable perception of what "right wing" and "left wing" actually mean. (Hint: Presenting facts that show the right-wing as the lying sacks of shit they are is not left-wing, it's simply accurate journalism. Sack up or get the fuck out of politics and media, ladies.)

She was joking, but this is a very important point not yet discussed. Hillary is not tech savvy, hell most of congress still uses paper instead of email. She personally did not wipe the server clean. She did not set it up; I'm sure she had no idea now secure it was or wasn't.

I want to know who the IT person was. I want to know why the State Department did not inform her that the rules had changed.

by Anonymousreply 107August 19, 2015 10:14 PM

[quote][R85] That's the kind of arrogance that's turning The American People off to Democrats.

How dare they support their own candidates! You'd never see a Republican do such a thing.

by Anonymousreply 108August 19, 2015 10:17 PM

I don't care who the IT person was, I don't care what was on the fucking server. It's already been established that there was nothing terribly compromising, it's a non-issue.

This is the Benghazi non-issue all over again. Sorry, Rethugs, we didn't care about that, we don't care about this and we won't care about the next thing either. You think you can pick off enough Independents to make up for the fact that Hispanics hate you. It won't work. You're toast in 2016 so wrap your lips around saying President Hillary Rodham Clinton for at least four years.

Good times.

If only someone had asked Bill that question after Monica visited.

by Anonymousreply 110August 19, 2015 10:27 PM

Who's Monica?

by Anonymousreply 111August 19, 2015 10:34 PM

R105 No. I'm just stating that there is no basis in reality for your claim that mass media overwhelmingly favors Conservatives, Republicans and Right Wingers. It has nothing to do with your personal opinion. You are simply wrong.

by Anonymousreply 112August 19, 2015 10:39 PM

No, actually R112, you are completely wrong but that's all right. We already knew you were either ignorant or lying. You remind me of DUMBvida and her endlessly stupid right-wing talking points pronouncements.

NAILED IT.

by Anonymousreply 114August 19, 2015 10:49 PM

R113 Have you been paying any attention, at all? The Progressive Cynic starts of with assumptions about what critics of Progressive media are actually saying: He controls the conversation from the very beginning. It's not just who's financing these outlets but what they are actually promoting and how much airtime is given to what; particularly, relative to importance (as weighed by power balance, sort of like the 40 mins. CBS gave to the affair between two Conservative House members this past week, vs. the 15 mins. given to investigating why the FBI has decided 300 of Hillary's emails contained classified information ).

He gives no links, no resources, nothing supporting that Soros financing certain outlets is somehow not factual (because he is financing these outlets). He calls out 5 different Conservative leaning news sources as proof of some "bubble"; this would actually confirm the overwhelming imbalance that those patrons believe exists. The "alphabet" networks nearly all own the cable news networks, respectively, so it's not extreme to think the management managing one network and the investors investing in a parent company, might have influence on what content is culled and the stories curated.

The rest is just opinion. Just speculative opinion.

Keep fucking that chicken, R115.

by Anonymousreply 118August 19, 2015 11:48 PM

r94, and neither Hillary or Colin are the war criminals that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are. Two ran their emails through the DNC, the other, presumably, through the Pentagon.

by Anonymousreply 119August 20, 2015 12:50 AM

R119: what does any of that have to do with the current campaign? If it makes you feel better, bush, Powell, and Rumsfeld can be assigned to the same chain gang, and then Hillary needs to be fully vetted on this issue. Pointing to other's bad behavior from the past shouldn't absolve current candidates from answering important questions about their record and their character.

WHY r120? Because YOU and her other enemies say so? Meanwhile in the real world outside of you and your right wing friends (and DON'T even bother telling me you're a Dem or Independent because YOU would be lying), NO ONE REPEAT NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THAT SERVER!!!

Carry on.

by Anonymousreply 125August 20, 2015 9:24 AM

The "Democrat" versus "Democratic" thing really needs to go. Sure, some of them are rightwing concern trolls who forget to use the correct term, but in this day and age with autocorrect issues and general lack of caring about grammar on informal websites, it seems really bizarre to use that one single criterion as justification to derail a whole thread.

Especially nowadays when you can just ignore someone. BLOOP. Ignored. Add them to all the Freeper fucks you ignored and go on with your day.

by Anonymousreply 127August 20, 2015 12:00 PM

R123, Democrat is a noun. Democratic is an adjective. Now think as if you were back in fifth grade.

by Anonymousreply 128August 20, 2015 2:22 PM

Who entitled people who entered the country illegally and have further broken laws on employment, entitlements, taxation, and declared them immune from deportation? People whom have lived by the rules are suppose to embrace those that don't? The 14th amendment was intended to address another situation, not the proliferation of anchor babies and their kin. Fine the hell out of employers of illegals, and shame on the Roman Catholic Church, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, CEO busselguts, pig bankers, and politicians that have allowed and promoted this horrible mess in moving the USA towards the third world. You tell 'em Donald!

by Anonymousreply 129August 20, 2015 2:59 PM

I hate presidential elections because there so much time wasted on "scandals" like this one.

The Presidency is about policies. The discussion should be solely about which policies you support and which you don't.

Everything else is a distraction.

by Anonymousreply 130August 20, 2015 4:11 PM

R129 Sure the 14th Amendment was used for one situation but the writers specifically did not list that one situation--so it's meant for all situations. Read the words.

If it were only to recognize only blacks as citizens, it would have said so.

by Anonymousreply 134August 20, 2015 4:46 PM

Hillary is a criminal! Not only guilty for the email negligence but also responsible for the deaths of the 4 Americans in the Benghazi attack. She should be in jail and not running around as a presidential candidate. What an alibi to evade prosecution?

by Anonymousreply 135August 20, 2015 5:54 PM

I really hate the new DL format but I love the hell out of that ignore feature.

Buh-bye Freeper scum!

by Anonymousreply 136August 20, 2015 6:03 PM

It's absolutely laughable that this would be considered a "scandal." Nothing illegal or inappropriate occurred. The only reason it's being called that is because the right wing propaganda machine has infected what used to be "objective" media sources like the broadcast networks, CNN, MSNBC who've completely abandoned fact checking in favor of sensationalism. We have a corporate media. Scandals, however fake, drive ratings, which drive corporate profits. Period. Donald Trump gets big ratings so they obsess on him too. They don't want to talk about the candidate's policies. It doesn't make them money.

by Anonymousreply 137August 20, 2015 6:05 PM

"Wiped? Who found out about that?! All I'll say is that he knew he shouldn't have been clearing dishes while our special 'donor discussion' was going on. The server was warned. That is all."

by Anonymousreply 138August 20, 2015 6:09 PM

R124: you are ridiculous. I don't think you are capable of holding an original or independent thought. The fact you are incapable of either facing anyone who doesn't think exactly like you or accepting that you don't have to be a 'right wing nut' to think Hillary Clinton is not the be all end all candidate disqualifies you as someone to be taken seriously.

On its merits, the email server issue shouldn't be that big a deal. It's too bad you can't see how ineffective Hillary has been in dealing with the issue. Her answers are smug and slippery. If she had the ability to be straightforward and honest, the whole thing would have probably been left in the dust by now.

A truly effective leader would have realized that and made the whole thing go away.

I hope you grow up one day and realize that anyone who wants to be president should be put to the test over everything. It's what is best for everyone involved (including the candidate).

by Anonymousreply 139August 20, 2015 6:16 PM

[quote]responsible for the deaths of the 4 Americans in the Benghazi attack

Explain in detail how she is responsible for these deaths and why she should be jailed for it.

by Anonymousreply 140August 20, 2015 6:17 PM

[quote]A truly effective leader would have realized that and made the whole thing go away.

A truly effective leader would answer all questions and cooperate with any investigations while biding her time for the answers to come, secure in the knowledge that she didn't do anything illegal or actionable.

And that's exactly what she did.

by Anonymousreply 141August 20, 2015 6:22 PM

I think you are conflating an effective politician with an effective leader.

by Anonymousreply 142August 20, 2015 6:26 PM

The fact that they can't find any of her Benghazi emails is a suspect. She wiped out evidence regarding Benghazi, that she abandoned those 4 poor Americans.

by Anonymousreply 143August 20, 2015 6:27 PM

[quote] Clinton bouncing between victim posing and displaying smug arrogance is not going to help her at election time.

After nearly 25 years of outrageously false allegations about her, Clinton has every right to react as she chooses. As it is, the future President has been gracious and forthright and responding with the respect and gravitas it deserves - which is actually none.

by Anonymousreply 144August 20, 2015 6:29 PM

Exactly so, R144, the anti-Hillary clowns are so tiresome. She is, without question, the most qualified candidate running for president. She has my vote. The End.

by Anonymousreply 145August 20, 2015 6:35 PM

by Anonymousreply 146August 20, 2015 6:37 PM

I don't get you Hillary supporters, r144 and r145 . Why are you so voraciously against The Public pointing out what they see as her weaknesses, what messages she might not be getting across to the general public?

Do you really think a handful of Hillary skeptics on DL are the only ones asking these questions? There are some very, intelligent people on this site and many are saying "This looks bad for her". If you really support her, why wouldn't you want to learn from this? I would be surprised if you're in politics, advertising or PR. This is freebie information for her campaigners and you are demanding dissenting voices be silenced. I don't get it.

by Anonymousreply 147August 20, 2015 6:49 PM

I just don't see the effective leadership:

She failed to bring about healthcare in bill's first term

She, as a feminist icon, slut shamed the women bill used and abused as a way to protect him

As senator she voted to authorize the war in Iraq

As 2008 candidate, she fanned racial tension when she got desperate to beat Obama

As Secretary of State, she really didn't do anything of note and her big initiative to handle Putin and Russia was a failure.

Those are big time moments when her leadership was absent or a failure that are consistently dispersed over nearly 25 years

by Anonymousreply 148August 20, 2015 6:53 PM

We are fucked! Joe Biden, please save us!

by Anonymousreply 149August 20, 2015 6:54 PM

She doesn't listen and she never admits when she's wrong. She makes poor hiring choices, and her management style is disengaged. Not a good candidate by any means.

When she and Bill were in the White House they really were the poorest people to occupy it since the 19th century. Why they gave that up for questionable associations is puzzling to me.

by Anonymousreply 150August 20, 2015 7:23 PM

by Anonymousreply 165August 20, 2015 8:17 PM

It's ALL about what policies Hillary will support vs. what ANY republican candidate will support, not these made up scandals.

Even GWB came into office as a "compassionate conservative" and he left office with the rich becoming wildly richer and the middle class torn apart. The GOP is NEVER for the middle class no matter what BS they speak.

by Anonymousreply 166August 20, 2015 8:18 PM

It's because she's not suffering from their attacks like they'd hoped, r165.

by Anonymousreply 167August 20, 2015 8:19 PM

R161 The GOP has had decades to actively investigate Hillary. The fact that they only have Benghazi and emails shows they have nothing.

Even the conservative Ken Starr, the special prosecutor who spent millions of tax dollars investigating the Clintons, said he came up with NOTHING.

by Anonymousreply 168August 20, 2015 8:20 PM

GOP shills--please stop pretending any progressive is hoping for Biden to run.

by Anonymousreply 169August 20, 2015 8:20 PM

[quote]A truly effective leader would have realized that and made the whole thing go away.

Sigh... That's the "Green Lantern" theory of politics, that all you have to do is "will" away the problem. We see this shit in discussions about foreign policy, too. It's total bullshit and it doesn't work out here in the real world. Nobody can "make the whole thing go away" so long as have a VRWC noise machine working overtime to keep it alive. Look at Benghazi, for example. Investigation after investigation, all of which have been negative, all of which have cleared her, and yet Congressional Republicans and candidates just will not let it die.

[quote]She is being actively investigated.

Not really. The New York Times completely botched the original story. All that was being investigated was whether the State Department followed appropriate policies for classifying documents and email. That had little to do with Clinton; she simply got caught in the crossfire. All that's happening now is that the FBI is currently looking at her server to verify whether it was configured properly to meet government standards. There's really nothing there, no matter how much screaming is going on.

by Anonymousreply 170August 20, 2015 8:21 PM

Even Rubio at the start of the GOP debate said that Hillary had the most compelling resume of all of them

by Anonymousreply 171August 20, 2015 8:21 PM

Hillary is as responsible for the deaths of the four in Benghazi as GWB is responsible for the 99 US embassy deaths during his 8 years.

by Anonymousreply 172August 20, 2015 8:23 PM

The FBI has to cover up Killary the Terrorist's email scandal because she wasn't the only one in the terrorist government that supports ISIS/ISIL, which is what Benghazi was all about. It leads to the top of the presidency, and to both parties.

See, idiots/morons/sheep, our great terrorist government created, funded and supplied the 'terrorist' Al Kayda and ISISrael, with Britain and Terrorist Bagel Israel.

But you cum drinkers don't care. You would rather vote for Channing Tatum's butthole. Reality is heartbreakingly painful sometimes. It is best, though, to confront the facts that she, like many in our terrorist government, is a traitor and a liar and a war criminal.

Maybe the stupid cunt can explain how she 'killled' bin Laden, who was already dead for over 10 years. Idiots.

by Anonymousreply 173August 20, 2015 8:24 PM

4 GOP-led congressional committees COMPLETELY vindicated Hillary on Benghazi but the GOP ignore those findings and doesn't mention them at all.

by Anonymousreply 174August 20, 2015 8:24 PM

[quote]Hillary is as responsible for the deaths of the four in Benghazi as GWB is responsible for the 99 US embassy deaths during his 8 years.

r128, Democrat is a proper noun and is capitalized. Democratic is an adjective and is capitalized when used as the Democratic Party (a proper noun). More often than not people capitalize democratic when it shouldn't. The democratic process is one thing, the Democratic Party is another while being a Democrat yet another.

by Anonymousreply 188August 20, 2015 11:02 PM

All you have to do is Google:

Is the FBI investigating Hillary Clinton?

There are articles from the last 2 days sourced to Al Jazeera America, NPR, and the Washington Post discussing the fact that more Clinton emails have been flagged for further evidence of security breeches and that the current investigation of Clinton is about to expand into a criminal one. Up to 12 extra investigators have been tapped to handle the widening investigation.

by Anonymousreply 192August 20, 2015 11:15 PM

R107, you need to remain mute on issues of which you are ignorant. Anybody exposed to classified information is given a course on how to determine what should have a classification and how it should be transmitted and stored. The Secretary of State would have that education. She decided it didn't apply to her. The state department never issued her any type of smart device, but she was pictured with one many times, which means it was not secured. If any standard person with her level of clearance had pulled this shit they would be in jail.

by Anonymousreply 193August 20, 2015 11:27 PM

This is so funny. These morons actually believe that they can do to Hillary Rodham Clinton what they did to Al Gore and John Kerry. Just tell a lot of lies and throw a bunch of wild accusations out there and hope something sticks.

This is Hillary Clinton, morons, she will have your balls for breakfast and we get to watch.

by Anonymousreply 194August 20, 2015 11:44 PM

R194 No one's doing anything to her. She'd done it to herself.

by Anonymousreply 195August 20, 2015 11:45 PM

To the anti-HIl crowd: Hil is a lying phony cunt. Even if they had video of her screwing Huma AND molesting a young boy or girl she would wiggle her way out of it. As fucked up as her reign as Secretary of State was nobody in the Democratic sphere really gives a fuck.

On the other hand, if Biden comes in Hil will have a problem. Democrats would have a real choice there. It's sad that Sanders is not taken seriously but he is not cunted, is from Brooklyn and looks older/disheveled. It's a shame politics are so superficial in this country because a former Republican like Liz Warren gets all the glory whereas the unsexy life long progessive independent, Sanders, is far from a media darling. Though I love the passion from the Bernie supporters.

by Anonymousreply 196August 20, 2015 11:49 PM

Do you seriously imagine that Joe Biden, as likable as he is, actually poses a problem for Hillary Clinton? He doesn't and I say that as someone who has always liked him.

Just wrap your minds around President Hillary Clinton and call it a day, 'tards.

by Anonymousreply 197August 20, 2015 11:56 PM

Biden does pose a problem for Hillary. If he takes 10 to 15 percent of her votes, which will be easy, Bernie wins.

by Anonymousreply 198August 20, 2015 11:59 PM

[quote]that the current investigation of Clinton is about to expand into a criminal one.

Joe Biden is an idiot. He was an idiot back in the 1980s when I had to watch him make a fool of himself in Committee hearings and he remains one. Luckily for him he had a fabulous staff who did great work. So kudos to Joe for hiring a good staff.

R204, you should not weigh in on topics you don't understand, I have clearance, not as high as hrc's but I know what is classified and how to handle it. I would be in jail if I funneled potentially classified information to a non secure steam.

Of course laws don't apply to HRC.

Oh, the irony, given your posts thus far.

by Anonymousreply 210August 21, 2015 11:09 PM

Oops! Trey Gowdy and his fellow Republicans on the Benghazi committee are now in the same boat:

“Just as an aside, for the I.G. to now declare the material as classified, since it was provided by State to the House Benghazi committee earlier this year in unredacted form, presumably that means that members of the House Benghazi committee may have unwittingly handled classified material on unclassified systems within the House of Representatives,” Mr. Fallon said. “Now, I don’t think that anybody here at the Clinton campaign is going to say that members of, say, Chairman Gowdy’s staff should have their computers confiscated for having possibly trafficked in classified material,” he said. “I don’t think we would say that. But that is, fundamentally, the same logic behind the I.G.’s referral to the State Department with respect to Mrs. Clinton’s server, since she was at worst a passive recipient of unwitting information that subsequently became deemed as classified. Let’s raise that as an aside.”

by Anonymousreply 211August 21, 2015 11:10 PM

[quote]you should not weigh in on topics you don't understand, I have clearance, not as high as hrc's but I know what is classified and how to handle it. I would be in jail if I funneled potentially classified information to a non secure steam.

And yet no one has brought any charges against her, there is no criminal investigation, and virtually every expert who has weighed in on the topic has made it clear that she broke no laws. So yeah, I'ma go with "liar."

R206 So? Did she do it or did she not? That's what I care about.

by Anonymousreply 215August 22, 2015 2:03 AM

As far as I can tell, there are no signs that Clinton broke the law or even broke the rules, no sign that she sent or received anything explicitly labelled "classified." All that's being asserted is that she may have received and/or forwarded items that were later classified or that "should" have been classified, where someone in the intelligence community thinks that a particular exchange really ought to have been classified.

As Jeffrey Toobin notes, though, the intelligence community *always* wants to mark things classified. As he writes:

[quote]In one case, according to media reports, one of Clinton’s potentially classified e-mail exchanges is nothing more than a discussion of a newspaper story about drones. That such a discussion could be classified underlines the absurdity of the current system. But that is the system that exists, and if and when the agencies determine that she sent or received classified information through her private server, Clinton will be accused of mishandling national-security secrets.

In short, this is much ado about nothing, so far, precisely as Clinton's supporters have asserted from the very beginning. The only real issue, from the very beginning, is who is deciding what should and should not be classified and are they doing so appropriately?

Hillary is trapped. She cannot go on the offensive against Republicans and other opponents in the media because the Justice Dept. (FBI) is examining the server she used, and the question about how alleged classified information was handled or maintained. Anything she would further say on the matter could be used against her if it later proves untrue. This controversy will drag on for months and chip away at her support. It will be the prime topic surrounding Hillary rather than focusing on campaign issues and distinguishing herself on the issues from GOP and primary opponents. I do feel bad for her due to the dilemma, but she made a stupid mistake in how she set-up her Email format and related structures, which displays poor judgment in this regard. Her secrecy, desire for control, and convenience preferences, have brought her pain. She had to know her opposition would hold her to standards, reasonable or not, beyond what is normally expected of others.

Hmmm....A top Hillary campaign donor is ready to jump ship if Papa Joe decides to run. Other donors and muck-a-de-mucks in the party are becoming increasingly concerned that the e-mail issue is not going away any time soon and no one really knows where the investigation is heading. They certainly don't consider it a non-issue or much a do about nothing. Many are critical of the way she has chosen to address it and how the campaign is being run. r246 got it right. Some power brokers within the party see Biden as the Democratic;) answer to counter Trump's so-called straight talking style of campaigning which is proving to be very effective. Even with people who find him personally repugnant. Voters who do not trust Hillary want a candidate who is going to tell it like it is but who also shares their values and sticks to his or her principles and is not going to sell them out. The people who like Bernie, but know that he cannot win a national election, and who also like Warren, but are convinced that she is not going to run, are going to take another look at Biden. They like and trust Joe. They see him as a decent man who never forgot where he came from and loyal to a fault. Everyone knows he comes with baggage. Are a few potentially embarrassing gaffes from someone who will work for the middle class and the disenfranchised and has the balls to stand up to Putin and the Chinese and who will keep his promises and knows how to WORK with Republicans to get those things done a reason to write him off?. Hillary is someone who hasn't walked it the way she talks it for a very long time. She doesn't have to. Why walk when you can ride in a limousine? Or take that private plane to Martha's Vineyard? Hillary and Bill have acquired Champagne tastes and like rolling with big money. He can still sell himself as a man of the people because no one is better at making people feel like he really cares about them. In part because he does have a big ole heart. But the allure of big ole bucks was too tempting. She comes off as a polished politician who doesn't have a clue as to how to talk with "regular folks" anymore. And would rather be ANYWHERE else than another State Fair rubbing shoulders with the rubes with their fried butter and corn dogs and pie eating contests, side-stepping cowpies in her Manolos. Then there is that little Valerie Jarrett problem. Which means Hillary has an Obama problem. Would she be a better President than any of the Republican Clown Car Posse? Yes, of course. But don't think for a minute she has this shit locked up. Whispers of ABH are going to get louder if she doesn't get her shit together and starts fighting back. I think r246 gives a good analysis of why she might be unable to do that. And she has no one else but herself to blame.

by Anonymousreply 251August 24, 2015 2:27 PM

Doh! My admiration is for r236. Not r246. I think you have presented a rational explanation as to why she seems so bumbling, lost, and out of character in her responses to the e-mail controversy. She's hiding out in Bumfucke and playing rope-a-dope with the press. It worked for Bonnie and Clyde but they weren't seen as "untrustworthy" or "dishonest". Folks liked them. Does anyone working on her campaign actually like this woman?

by Anonymousreply 252August 24, 2015 4:30 PM

I wish Obama would have one of his "grow up" moments and call this out for what it is, complete bullshit. I think that would really help the situation actually. Especially since the Hillary-hating press tries to make the whole thing sound legitimate by saying the Obama Administration is "investigating" her. They are not. That is a Republican talking point not a fact.

by Anonymousreply 253August 24, 2015 5:12 PM

The rumor is Valerie Jarrett leaked the e-mail story. She would never do that without Obama's okay. Does anyone really believe that Hillary chose to use her own IP server because it was just more convenient? Or was she afraid that using a government IP would make it easier for her enemies within the administration to keep tabs on her? And Bill?

Hiding out in Bumfucke on another bullshit "discovery tour" while ducking the press and refusing to sit down and address the issue head on is not helping her image. She acts like a person who has something to hide. Read the writing on the wall. Carville and Jerry Brown are going public with appeals to Biden not to run. You can smell the desperation. And that was BEFORE Obama gave Biden his blessing. If Biden wants to run for President then more power to him. There will be major blowback if it appears that anyone in Clinton's campaign is trying to strong arm Biden into backing down.
