Buy Sean Hayes's's House For 8 Million Dollars

I usually don't like a lot of houses, but I love this house especially the front and back as well as the yards.

Sean, are you on DL? Can I move in?

The pool seems smaller than preferable. He could afford any size pool, so why not a roomier one?

by Anonymousreply 1August 18, 2015 4:01 AM

It's sure a LOT of house!

by Anonymousreply 2August 18, 2015 4:13 AM

Nice place. Doesn't compare to my one-bedroom condo.

by Anonymousreply 3August 18, 2015 4:17 AM

Nice. The staging is bland and boring.

by Anonymousreply 4August 18, 2015 4:30 AM

Ceilings are low.

by Anonymousreply 5August 18, 2015 4:31 AM

Nice home. Nice guy.

by Anonymousreply 6August 18, 2015 4:39 AM

Why would anyone spend $8 million to live in Hancock Park?

by Anonymousreply 7August 18, 2015 4:43 AM

sweet n cheap me likey

by Anonymousreply 8August 18, 2015 4:54 AM

It's an old house with all the character erased. Boring beige and grey. I can't imagine puttering around a big house like that alone, I think I'd rather live in some small ultra-modern place, or some high-rise condo, and I love old houses, and live in one myself. Dull.

by Anonymousreply 9August 18, 2015 6:00 AM

Looks like it belongs in Cleveland,

by Anonymousreply 10August 18, 2015 6:19 AM

It's so awfully beige.

by Anonymousreply 11August 18, 2015 6:24 AM

Isn't there a drought in Cali? He should be ashamed.

by Anonymousreply 12August 18, 2015 6:24 AM

Nice house, very serene. Hancock Park looks like it has a very traditional vibe.

by Anonymousreply 13August 18, 2015 6:57 AM

A little Thomas Kinkade but it's nice overall. The staging went a little too far by making sure there were perfect screen captures of Indiana Jones and Star Wars on the TVs, though (or photoshopping them in).

by Anonymousreply 14August 18, 2015 10:48 AM

Maybe they think Harrison Ford's in the market for a house.

by Anonymousreply 15August 18, 2015 1:25 PM

I think it's Beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 16August 18, 2015 2:11 PM

I like it, though I wish he'd gone more modern with the renovated white woodwork and cabinetry, which screams "McMansion." The fauxlonial look he chose doesn't really go with the house.

by Anonymousreply 17August 18, 2015 6:12 PM

I agree in it's current state it does scream mcmansion.

With what kind of candy is that jar filled. It looks like maybe Starburst. However, I will kindly refrain from making jokes about fruity flavor.

by Anonymousreply 18August 18, 2015 6:28 PM

My home had good bones.

by Anonymousreply 19August 18, 2015 6:29 PM

It's nice but I can't help thinking that all that ivy means lots and lots of very big spiders.

by Anonymousreply 20August 18, 2015 6:40 PM

Nice, but the pool is small.

by Anonymousreply 21August 18, 2015 6:46 PM

I wish all the woodwork hadn't been painted white. Why not buy modern rather than '70s Tudor-style if that's what you want?

by Anonymousreply 22August 18, 2015 6:51 PM

It's nice.

The real home of my dreams currently (recently?) on the market is Patrick Dempsey's Frank Gehry Malibu house. I love everything about it. Everything.

Yeah, and if it doesn't work out, you can always turn it into a 30 minute oil change place.

by Anonymousreply 24August 18, 2015 10:18 PM

What do you know. Sort-of-trolldar sort-of-works. I'm talking to you, R24 (and r 29 in the Patrick Dempsey thread). And what I'm saying is that your joke isn't any funnier the second time around.

You probably think "earrings caftans" is the hilarious answer to anything and everything.

by Anonymousreply 25August 18, 2015 10:26 PM

You even made five really bad Ginny in Billing jokes, R24.

by Anonymousreply 26August 18, 2015 10:29 PM

Hey Inspector Clouseau is it really that serious?

by Anonymousreply 27August 18, 2015 10:30 PM

R26, PRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEDDDD!

by Anonymousreply 28August 18, 2015 10:31 PM

Troll-Dar is dead. Long live Troll-Dar!

by Anonymousreply 29August 18, 2015 10:31 PM

That is one nice house.

by Anonymousreply 30August 18, 2015 10:56 PM

Wait - how does one access sort-of trolldar?

by Anonymousreply 31August 18, 2015 10:57 PM

R31, one puts someone on "ignore" in one thread, then checks either the same thread or another thread to see if the ignoree is ignored in both places. I got one right today, and one wrong. And I discovered I'm ignoring about 100 posts on one of the DOOL thread, all by the same moron.

by Anonymousreply 32August 18, 2015 11:04 PM

The gays (and Ellen!) love HP, but I don't get it: why spend millions to live in something that you can get in Kansas City for 1/20th the price? I'd be somewhere on the beach or with ocean view: that's the point of being there.

by Anonymousreply 33August 18, 2015 11:57 PM

It's a nice house. It's not an architectural or fashion statement, it's not edgy or whatever, but it is a good house with lots of space and I like the color scheme. I like the white woodwork, heavy dark wood colors can smother a room. With basic neutrals on the walls you can go wild with the artwork, you can dress it up or down depending on season, you can change the whole look and feel on the cheap just by changing accessories. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I like that the pool isn't too large, it's not showy or glitzy just a very nice addition to the space. And no piles of books or horse statues anywhere!

by Anonymousreply 34August 19, 2015 12:04 AM

Did he repeat the Midwest golf widow decor of his last house?

This phone hates photo sites.

by Anonymousreply 35August 19, 2015 12:33 AM

But who decorates an 8 million dollar home "on the cheap".

by Anonymousreply 36August 19, 2015 12:46 AM

It's very nice, the pool is just right....

But a TV ABOVE THE FIREPLACE??

I draw the line.

by Anonymousreply 37August 19, 2015 12:47 AM

Is there...plaid?

by Anonymousreply 38August 19, 2015 12:56 AM

You are sick R32. Get a life for God's sake!

by Anonymousreply 39August 19, 2015 1:09 AM

It needs some earrings. Maybe a caftan or two.

by Anonymousreply 40August 19, 2015 1:41 AM

Did any of you catch the episode of "Who do you think you are" with Sean Hayes? He had a rough background and a long family history of crime and dysfunction. Good for him for becoming so successful!

by Anonymousreply 41August 19, 2015 1:52 AM

R22 All the white is so bright that it hurts my eyes.

by Anonymousreply 42August 19, 2015 2:32 AM

But as another poster said, it's great for hanging art.

I still find most of the ceilings to be low. They're a lot higher in my little 1920s apartment.

by Anonymousreply 43August 19, 2015 2:37 AM

I love the exterior, front and back, but I don't care for any of the interior. It reminds me of the house I grew up in in Greenville, De. Minus the pool of course. Back in the 70s only the nouveau riche in Wilmington had swimming pools(or so said my mother.)

by Anonymousreply 44August 19, 2015 2:52 AM

R36 seasonal changes don't involve redecorating the whole house.

by Anonymousreply 45August 19, 2015 10:21 AM

Anastasia Beaverhausen may be interested.

by Anonymousreply 46August 19, 2015 10:44 AM

Really nice house. Too many TVs; too few pieces of art. And the "art" over the sofa looks like it was chosen just for the colors.

by Anonymousreply 47August 19, 2015 12:55 PM

[quote]seasonal changes don't involve redecorating the whole house.

So true! From September through February, you can fall/winter up any home by placing pinecones on every table!

by Anonymousreply 48August 19, 2015 12:58 PM

Lovely. It's not some flashy, impressive art piece but it has the comfy feel of a home.

by Anonymousreply 49August 19, 2015 1:32 PM

Yer a whore, Debbie.

by Anonymousreply 50August 19, 2015 1:32 PM

Is this the "Heathers" house? It looks like it.

by Anonymousreply 51August 19, 2015 1:35 PM

I like it. It’s a great space for hosting parties.

by Anonymousreply 52February 10, 2021 4:07 AM

Since this thread is five years old, are there photos out there of his new house?

by Anonymousreply 53February 10, 2021 4:15 AM

This is the House that Jack Built, y’all.

by Anonymousreply 54February 10, 2021 5:28 AM

The house is about as interesting as she is. Nice pool and backayd terrace.

by Anonymousreply 55February 11, 2021 2:50 AM

All that closet space!
