Anyone Tried One Of Those Clothing Optional Gay Resorts ... ?

I've stayed at clothing options resorts in both Key West and Palm Springs. The one in Key West (Island House) I wouldn't go back to but the one in Palm Springs (Santiago Resort) was great and I'd totally go back. I enjoy sunbathing nude once and a while so for me that's the allure. Sure, there's plenty of opportunity to hook up while there, but you also can do that over the web with Grindr. It's what you make of it.

When I was a young stud around 1990 I went to a hotel that looks pretty like much the one in your link, OP. Maybe it is that same one. Back then you could nude sunbath or fuck in the hot tub. It was not like a bath house really it was like a sleazy motel.

Key West is pretty boring but its a good place to do drugs, its pretty and soft at night. You aren't chained to your hotel! There was no restaurant for instance.

We were young and snotty and deliberately "slumming" and being around so many tacky gays and being tacky with them is a bit depleting, even though we had a lot of fun buying the campiest trashiest and sluttiest outfits in the thrift shops of Georgia and Florida, to wear in "the trashy gay resort".

I had hot sex with Dutch and South American tourists who were gorgeous.

r6 that is just how that whole thing works so great post. i had that period as broke college student in my early 20s and really thought i was so fabulous at the time. Enjoy those times but see it for what it is and is not. If you're like most of us at some point you'll look and think oh god really id did that.

We stayed in a clothing optional one in Palm Springs as well. Mostly it was just guys sunbathing and swimming/ hot tubbing in the nude. I kept my shorts on while on the deck but dropped trou to swim which was nice. At night things got a little frisky in the pool and there was some couple swapping but nothing crazy. There was another resort nearby where you could buy a day or night pass. It was basically a bathhouse with a back room/ sling area and plenty of sex in the hottub. It was fun to visit but I definitely wouldn't stay there.

I abhor Key West. It's for hoity toity gays who think they're cool going there. It's a tourist trap ripoff. Everything's over-priced there. And most of the men are snotty snobs. It's the ultimate in phony. Don't waste your money going there.

Key west has always been overrated. It's good for a weekend in your early 20s is about it. Actually really anyone that has money doesn't bother with Key West. It's not the Hamptons or Palm Springs or even Miami.

I've been to the San Vicente Inn in Los Angeles and a few Palm Springs resorts.

Palm Springs resorts are only worth it when they're throwing a special public party, which they do every month or so. They hire porn star/escorts for these events; some even come of their own accord. So there's always somebody worth hooking up with if you can attract the porn stars or afford them.

Otherwise, Palm Springs is entirely made up of ugly, old trolls. There's nobody there under 65, everybody has HIV and few of them stay in shape. It is a retirement community where any hotness is hired and rare.

The San Vicente Inn actually had attractive, young men sometimes. Hustlers, users and sluts all hung out there on day passes or favors from the staff. Hookups with hot or halfway decent men could be had there.

The problem was, the hotel service was deplorable. Local access TV only, no housekeeping, no toiletries, no central air and heat, few towels and paper walls — you'd be listening to a bunch of screaming meth addicts fight or party all night instead of sleeping.

One time, I was given a towel almost entirely stained in blood. It was the most disgusting, cheap treatment I've ever experienced. I immediately turned the towel into their communal bin for cleaning and asked for a new set of towels.

By the time I got back that night, the same blood-stained towel was folded nicely and hung back in my room!

They didn't get rid of it after bleach didn't work a second time. WTF?!?!?!?

You know it's time to throw in the towel when there's more blood in the towel than towel.

Now, the San Vicente Inn has a new owner who cleaned it up, requires clothing and serves straight people, so the party's over.

It's unfortunately true the only attractive ones in Palm Springs are the for hire ones in some fashion or another. Now if you have the cash and want to indulge your fantasies of banging your favorite porn star it's a great place to be. That's just how it goes there.

There was a gay motel on Western Avenue in LA that was always sleazy and clothing optional. Last time was there was 1989 as I was a budget traveler. Always fun, but dangerous.
