Occult Hollywood and Mary Astor's Weird, Horrible Family

Mary Astor's Moorcrest home looks like an Illuminati shrine. Her greedy parents kept her there to live off her wealth until she escaped and married at 22. A family friend from the Theosophical Society tried to convince her horrible parents to give her a $5/week allowance from her own money, which would be about $50 today.

Hollywood: The pre-programmed children from cults companies can't wait to exploit, the stage parents selling-out, the casting couch hierarchy, the Illuminati symbols, everywhere. As a long time film buff, I have a love/hate relationship with this place.

Discuss.

I knew there something not quite right about her.

by Anonymousreply 1August 12, 2015 11:48 PM

R1 Give her a break, Katie. She had to climb out a window of her own mansion, in the middle of the night, to get away from her wacko parents.

by Anonymousreply 6August 13, 2015 12:01 AM

R6 Well, she was a fake Astor but an odd stage name choice, just the same. I'm sure it was chosen to make it seem like she was tied to the famous, Astor bloodline, which was also known for being a major Occultist family.

by Anonymousreply 7August 13, 2015 12:03 AM

Yeah, you're right, R5. That was Winchester.

by Anonymousreply 8August 13, 2015 12:03 AM

R7 ...but I think it was chosen to make her look like an elegant, rebellious heir.

That's not an Oxford comma after "famous" in r7, and it shouldn't be there ("famous Astor bloodline" is correct). All of r7's other commas, however, are fine—examplary, even!

I'm not sure I believe in the mystical aspect of this stuff. Hollywood does, though.

by Anonymousreply 48August 13, 2015 1:03 AM

For those who like their celebrities social and/or political, here's Gloria Steinem throwing an Illuminati sign.

Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, was a genuine Eugenicist. Eugenics was a fascination of the period, obviously most famously associated with The Jesuit Templar, the supposed inspiration for Hitler. I'm not saying Steinem supports Hitler but her admiration of Sanger may have lead her to develop a respect for the Occultist origins of Eugenics.

Many intellectuals are fascinated by the search for knowledge associated with Occult belief systems and Luciferism, even if they don't respect the Christian interpretation of the figure of Lucifer. Middle Eastern Yazidis also have a different interpretation of the figure of Lucifer, based on similar mysticism. Rockefeller center showing Prometheus is an Occultist ode to Luciferism, the "light bearer of knowledge". Rockefeller was a follower of it and believed society should be socially engineered based on its principles.

Back to movies: Hitler also loved "Metropolis" for its Occult imagery but he seemed to have missed the entire point of the film, where elites abuse regular workers and bully people with rare talents and beauty, to manipulate the masses for them.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 49August 13, 2015 1:15 AM

R49 "Metropolis" was actually a warning against people like Hitler.

by Anonymousreply 50August 13, 2015 1:17 AM

I'm not saying this is a master plot, as much as a belief system that is attractive to those who work in mass media.

by Anonymousreply 51August 13, 2015 1:18 AM

It's also important to note, that romanticism of ancient mythology and mysteries was a popular theme in Edwardian pop culture and that lead into early cinema.

by Anonymousreply 52August 13, 2015 1:28 AM

R51 People who work in mass media arts, work in the language of symbols and Occultism is heavily dependent upon symbolism and symbolic interaction-ism, which is probably why there is such a following of it in the arts industries.

by Anonymousreply 53August 13, 2015 1:30 AM

R53 Some believe in the figurative magic of symbols to influence the masses; some believe in the actual magic of it.

by Anonymousreply 54August 13, 2015 1:31 AM

Newsflash -- the occult is fake.

That's right, kids.

Just like Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Greek and Roman mythology, Druidism, Satanism, Zoroastrianism, Shintoism, Jainism, Aztec and Mayan mythology, Slender Man, Boogie Man, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and the Perfect Wave, occultism is made-up shit.

It can't hurt you. Unless you are a paranoid schizophrenic who thinks occult people are stalking you. If this happens to be so, then --- don't let them get you! Just take matters into your OWN hands and kill yourself now.

by Anonymousreply 55August 13, 2015 2:00 AM

R55 You think I'm worried about The Occult? I don't believe crystals have powers (none that register for humans, anyhow). Human beings, however, do.

by Anonymousreply 56August 13, 2015 2:05 AM

Clean up your act, Hollywood. Stop the initiation ceremonies.

by Anonymousreply 57August 13, 2015 2:09 AM

Hollywood is full of so many dummies that if you told them that throwing a few diamond and one-eye signs would help their careers and look "cool" to those in the know they'd follow in droves. Just like they do

by Anonymousreply 58August 13, 2015 2:18 AM

R58 Sad. They should explain to them what these signs represent. Just as actors, stars should have the choice to be associated with certain brands or organizations before signing a contract, so should they be informed about what signs they are being told to make.

I'm sure most are just told to "hold your hand over your eye" or whatever, while industry heads enjoy their inside joke or signal that the minions are all in line.

by Anonymousreply 59August 13, 2015 2:24 AM

More than half of the posts in this thread are missing for me. I only opened it because I figured it was yet another stupid fucking thread from that monumental cunt - DUHvida Witchiepooshoes. Her quest to lose herself in fantasies, delusions and lies is never-ending.

Oranges poranges

by Anonymousreply 61August 13, 2015 2:26 AM

R60 No, I'm not "Witchipoo" nor do I know who that is.

Seeing Hollywood and the entertainment industries use these signs, does not mean I believe they have mystical power. It's like people who throw gang signs, having no idea what they mean: Are these stars informed, willing participants or innocent people being tricked into doing something they don't realize they're doing?

by Anonymousreply 62August 13, 2015 2:28 AM

R62 These are not random, ambiguous signs; these are very, specific symbols associated with a particular ideology. It's like if someone makes The Sign of The Cross; you'd probably assume they're Catholic or Christian, right?

Do you think it's ethical to possibly trick someone into making the sign of the cross in videos, stage performances and photos? What if they had no idea it was religious messaging and it meant something specific to a religion? Shouldn't people have the choice -- of their free will -- whether or not their image is associated with something like that?

by Anonymousreply 63August 13, 2015 2:31 AM

Someone upthread mentioned Nickelodeon--and lets include Disney too. Producing shows and movies and theme parks--all with these signs scattered throughout. I never believed in subliminal suggestion--but when you're young, who needs sublimation? Just copy the kids on TV and movies you like. Wear what they wear (the sexuality of some of these kids is scary), and do what they do.

Even if you don't believe in the occult, or the "Illuminati", or any of the topics upthread--you can't deny the corruption of today's kids via these channels. Think about it--was any of what's standard today even around for teens 20-30 years ago?

by Anonymousreply 64August 13, 2015 2:40 AM

It reminds me of a Terry Pratchett book, Carpe Jugulum, where the vampire family is merrily going about their business without being injured by religious symbols until Granny Weatherwax puts it into their heads that symbols have power and they are everywhere. What used to be just a four-paned window is suddenly a cross etc., and they are defeated by the idea that symbols are powerful even though the symbols themselves are just everyday things. Headology.

If you look hard enough you can see a face in the flames and a conspiracy in the awkwardly "cool" poses of attention seeking famewhores.

by Anonymousreply 65August 13, 2015 2:45 AM

R64 "Bratz"! Even the name was awful. I get that it could be joke, "Easter Eggs" put in by creators but I don't like that kind of mocking manipulation. If you saying you're making something for kids, at least stay honest about it.

(I don't really buy the 6's on the Disney signature in the image below, though)

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 66August 13, 2015 2:46 AM

R65 No. These aren't clouds or a burnt pancake, these are symbols created by human beings who are also graphic artists and mass media experts. Some might think it's a joke -- look, outsmarting the mindless masses! -- but some do take it seriously.

by Anonymousreply 67August 13, 2015 2:47 AM

[quote] Are these stars informed, willing participants or innocent people being tricked into doing something they don't realize they're doing?

Why do you care? These "signs" are meaningless. They have no power, any more than V for victory or the peace sign or the sign against the evil eye.

"Ass clown" is another TV euphemism for asshole. These words were made up by TV writers to get past censors and were picked up by TV viewers who thought they were actual words.. It's a case of life imitating "art." Like when Rowan and Martin said "You bet your bippy" instead of "You bet your ass." It entered into the vernacular for a while and then disappeared, while the original "you bet your ass" is still around.

by Anonymousreply 88August 13, 2015 5:10 AM

Hey asshat, you must really really be bothered by the occult or stalking the Op because this is the only thread you are posting in and you are doing nothing but shitting all over it.

You can ignore whole threads if they are going to trigger your insanity or is it that you just like to piss on things?

by Anonymousreply 89August 13, 2015 5:10 AM

Asshat is traced to Raising Arizona, City Slickers and That 70s Show.

by Anonymousreply 90August 13, 2015 5:23 AM

There is absolutely no, justifiable reason why I should have been banned from responding and it's incredibly immature that a handful of you are running around, getting people booted just because you personally don't want to see their threads.

I'm not "witchiepoo" or whoever else you think I am nor is there anything particularly offensive or horrific about this thread. Eye-rolling to some, perhaps but we're just discussing the topic not purposefully abusing DL. Cut it out.

by Anonymousreply 91August 14, 2015 11:10 AM

Some of the most innocuous/inane posts on this thread are being FF'd, what gives? Yet one up-threader exhorted someone to kill themselves, and it's allowed to stand?

by Anonymousreply 92August 14, 2015 11:38 AM

R92 I don't get it. It's become a real problem on here. If someone thinks a thread is silly or distasteful, why can't they just ignore it? If enough people just ignore it, no one will be discussing on the board, anyway and it will just fade away.

I don't understand this. FF makes no sense. It only takes a couple of control freaks to ruin things for everyone. DL is resembling a totalitarian state.
