How far an age spread do you use when trying to get a hookup on the internet? I'm 49, but when posting an ad or replying to one, I tell them I'm 38.
Real age vs. Internet age

34/26

Oh you're one of THOSE. Stop the nonsense. It's not like you can hide an 11 year difference. Are you pics 11 years old too?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 10, 2015 1:05 AM |
76/52
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 10, 2015 1:07 AM |
61/49. A friend, at 67, says he's 45 (oi.)
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 10, 2015 1:10 AM |
Irrelevant to me as I don't do internet hookups but I usually shave five years when directly asked my age (unless it's anything official of course). I'm very lucky to have good skin, nothing that I've done to make it good just genetics but everyone in my family looks younger.
Why I take off five years I don't even know myself, it's just something I started doing a while back and my partner thinks it's hilarious. He never outs me as a big fat liar but he always pokes fun when we get home.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 10, 2015 1:11 AM |
I have an internet birthday and a real birthday. When I started going online, a friend told me never to tell anyone my birthday and my zip code. If I did, they could access my credit report. So I made up a date that is ten years and four months different.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 10, 2015 1:13 AM |
Saw an acquaintance on Grindr today, a fellow I know to be three years older than me (I'm 57) and average height, perhaps 5'10". it claimed he was 48 and 6'1"! I guess you do what you have to do to get laid.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 10, 2015 1:18 AM |
And I bet you're one of those that believes, "but it's different.. I really do look like I can pass for that age, nobody knows!!!"
Newsflash... no, you don't. And yes, they do.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 10, 2015 1:19 AM |
To each his own but if someone like that was ever that far off in their profile they certainly were not getting laid by me. I couldn't stand the blatant misrepresentation in my internet hook up days. Couple of years or a few pound here and there fine that can be a legit haven't updated the profile. That far off that was just a blatant lie that turned me off.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 10, 2015 1:22 AM |
Is this thread for reals? You gals are pathetic.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 10, 2015 1:24 AM |
Ew. I am in my early thirties and am routinely mistaken for being college student aged (sometimes even high school age), but I would never misrepresent myself by any more than two years (and then more to prevent internet tracking companies from having accurate stats on me, not so much for the purpose of getting younger guys on dating sites). Seeing the answers on this thread is making me reconsider internet hookups altogether. People are so pathetic and gross.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 10, 2015 1:34 AM |
Personally, it is a HUGE turnoff when a guy doesn't post his age or weight. Or is clearly lying about it. I'd rather go out with a 48 year old who claims to be 48 than a 47 year old who claims to be 39. I wouldn't trust the guy who claimed he was 39.
Younger guys can tell the difference between a new pic and a pic taken on a cell phone five years ago. There's nothing sadder than an old guy who treats his profile like a "greatest hits" photo album. If you do that, make sure it's the greatest hits of last year. Old pics (anything more than 1 year old) suggests you are hiding something and haven't aged well.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 10, 2015 1:35 AM |
I always claimed my real age. I'm 44, now, but never had an issue posting my real age. My boyfriend, however, always shaved 4 years off his age. When I met him, I thought he was the same age, but he's actually 48. If I had known from the start, I probably wouldn't have gone out on a second date with him. I know another guy who's been online for years - grindr, etc., - and I think he changes his age every two years or so. He claims he's 40, now, but I know he's 45. He's been 40 for awhile - it took him ages to hit that age. He was 39 for the longest time. It's a smaller community, so it's not as if most guys don't know. It looks ridiculous to continue with it.

Ditto R12. Single buddy and i were just having a good laugh a couple of days ago when i was over at his place and we were checking out profiles and most of the dishonest ones were incredibly obvious. Things haven't improved since i was doing that thing a few years ago..lol. But it worked out he found a hottie 40 something and apparently it was so good he's back for more tonight.. Good for him. Apparently had him screaming for joy and guess he needed it since he hadn't gotten laid in a few months.

Internet hookups always end in gin, regret, tears, and ritual dismemberment.
For the internet, I'm a hirsute bigboned latina named Yolanda and I'm ageless.

Darlings I'm 57 and don't look a day over 35. Ladies at the club are always ask me discretely about my skin care secrets.
I've had anal bleaching and my hands and décolleté laser planed. Very discrete botox.
The boys don't know, can't tell!

by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 10, 2015 1:47 AM |
This is awful. Why are you people lying online? It's immoral.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 10, 2015 1:48 AM |
I've sucked his dick, R17, and he's one brokeass motherfucker who thinks he can pass as a 29yo Cuban.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 10, 2015 1:48 AM |
I'm 58 and I'm honest about my age on my Tinder account. I'm proud of the fact that I'm 58 and look as fantastic as I do. But, younger guys don't believe that I'm 58 and think I'm actually 25-30. I had guy tell me I post "58" in order to get with older men. That was interesting. But, no, I'm not 25-30, I'm 58.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 10, 2015 1:50 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 10, 2015 1:51 AM |
LOL..eh online hooking up can be good and efficient..but like anything you have to know what your doing to avoid the liers/trash. Slightly before my time at it but i've heard caming or Ichat can cut through a lot of the bs. If they say they don't have a camera, they are lying...LOL
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 10, 2015 1:51 AM |
R21 anyone that mistakes 58 for 25-30 is a complete idiot or those were not your pics. I don't care how well preserved anyone is, you can tell the extreme difference between the two. There are just tell tale signs of anyone with a 30 year age difference.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 10, 2015 1:54 AM |
R13 and just think about all the other things he's lied to you about and you never found out about... or all the things he continues to lie to you about!!!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 10, 2015 1:56 AM |
R7, I noticed this too in the past year or so - height misrepresentation has become a thing. Nobody on A4A in my neck of the woods will claim to be less than 6' tall.

Trick mom taught me decades ago the best way to judge someone's actual age is to look at the hands. You can't hide your age there.

by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 10, 2015 2:06 AM |
I'm 33 but always say older, around 36/38 and end up getting compliments about looking good for that age.

The palm or the top, r29?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 10, 2015 2:09 AM |
I don't care about age misrepresentation. I can tell if you're lying, mostly. I DO CARE about lying re dick size. That's pathetic. Someone who's looking for XL isn't going to make do with M-.
Own your age/height/weight/dick.

by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 10, 2015 2:11 AM |
LOL..R33's a size queen love it. I've never cared that much in that department as long as we're not dealing in either micro pennis or huge. They can be TOO big. Had that happen once with a guy i dated..it didn't make for great sex. Hard to even suck that thing
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 10, 2015 2:13 AM |
well, my fuck buds with huge dicks are the ones who took FOREVER to reach 40 and are now handing around 42 even though they are 50+ and they explain that all the boys figure they are not 40 but don't care because they are size queens and WANT the meat. And these 3 I am thinking of are still fit. One says he has two profiles, one age correct and the other "42" and none of the twinks will hit him up on the 53 yo page. It would bother the twink too much, they prefer the fantasy that their big dick daddy is 42.

And this is why I like meeting guys at a bathhouse (I've had many friendships/relationships from there). What you see is what you get. And they're always freshly scrubbed there.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 10, 2015 2:15 AM |
I'm curious if it's true, so let's test it, r29.
What age would you guess here?

R38, 60-75 years old

R58 looks like the hand of a 300 yo vampire to me.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 10, 2015 2:32 AM |
I'd guess well into your 60s there r38. Probably 65+. Now you did ask.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 10, 2015 2:33 AM |
35 year old female R40 - it doesn't have that thin, papery texture, with the wrinkles that old hands on someone 60 to 75 would have.

Which one of you was r29?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 10, 2015 2:37 AM |

They look like some leatherette shit you'd find at Goodwill.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 10, 2015 2:40 AM |
I agree with the vampire analysis. Whether 25 or 65, those talons are creepy
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 10, 2015 2:41 AM |
Im only 12 but tell everyone I'm over 20. Older guys (40 and over) tell me they're only 25, I pretend to believe them. What a actor a boy has to be to get real DADDY cock.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 10, 2015 3:41 AM |
I had assumed the guy who was 58 but is told he looks 25-30 was kidding. I'm not so sure now.
it's sad when guys don't put their ages on profiles. It's just as sad when someone writes "I'm __ but look younger" They almost never do.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 10, 2015 3:56 AM |
Internet liars don't make me sad anymore. My cachét sank at 40 and plummeted at 50 on the meat markets. I'm content I was a stud for 20 years and fuckable for another 10. Now I just slowly adjust to the new realities. Sill have sex but I can't fight, change or ignore the march of time.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 10, 2015 4:06 AM |
Eh a younger husband helps. He's helping keep me stay young at 47 since he's 10 years younger at 37. I don't get to be a lazy ass to keep up with him...and i'm not even talking about the sex.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 10, 2015 4:09 AM |
R31 - that's the way you do it. Those compliments never get old!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 10, 2015 4:10 AM |
Like we don't know those tricks, OP.
Any profile admitting to any age over 30 we know to add ten years to, to get your real age.
Only people under 30 are honest about their age.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 10, 2015 4:18 AM |
R49 - I wish more gay men had your philosophy towards life, and aging. To many men become bitter and angry at not being desirable any longer, and live miserable, lonely lives.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 10, 2015 4:27 AM |
I'm with r31....I always add a few years to my age and wait for the inevitable "oh you look much younger". Good for the ego.
