If he's actually gay, and is just testing the waters as it's been rumored, he needs to nut up and just come out already.

by Anonymousreply 1July 20, 2015 7:55 PM

No, he is not gay. He is marketing.

by Anonymousreply 2July 20, 2015 8:55 PM

gay.com is a shit website.

by Anonymousreply 3July 20, 2015 9:08 PM

Am I the only one that doesn't mind he is marketing to gays? I love that he performs at gay clubs and pride events. That is a good thing to me, not a bad thing.

by Anonymousreply 4July 20, 2015 9:28 PM

I'm with you r,4

by Anonymousreply 5July 20, 2015 9:32 PM

Me too

by Anonymousreply 6July 20, 2015 10:08 PM

I agree with R4 - if he's straight and marketing to Gays well good for him - he's smart. But of course it seemed to me that he's inching towards coming out. And that would be awesome - we need a hottie to come out.

by Anonymousreply 7July 20, 2015 10:30 PM

"marketing to gays" = playing the gays

Some people don't mind being played. I am not one of them.

by Anonymousreply 8July 21, 2015 12:17 AM

I want to be chained up & whipped by a hot Daddy!

[quote]Nick Jonas Embraces S&M For Gay Club Performance, Is Literally Chained To Stage

I see bondage... Not S&M. Gay.com's headline is clickbait enough without having to resort to lies.

by Anonymousreply 11July 21, 2015 6:52 AM

Bondage, S&M . . . What's the difference at this point?

by Anonymousreply 12July 21, 2015 9:36 AM

R2/R8 is an idiot. He has more to lose by courting a gay audience than to gain by it.

But I forget, this is DL and the worst thing a celebrity can do is be gay friendly.

by Anonymousreply 13July 21, 2015 9:51 AM

There's a difference between gay friendly and pandering. Nick Jonas is pandering, and it's insulting.

by Anonymousreply 14July 21, 2015 9:56 AM

But don't forget we had the OP of the Real Gossip Thread predict that Nick Jonas was going to gradually take steps towards coming out.

by Anonymousreply 15July 21, 2015 10:09 AM

And that it's happened pretty much exactly like he said it would.

by Anonymousreply 16July 21, 2015 10:22 AM

Bette Midler played bathhouses, Grace Jones played gay clubs. Why is it that these days the only singers you'd find playing the gay club circuit - if such a thing exists - are completely devoid of talent and relying upon (a). solely their physical attractiveness and/or (b). being completely washed up irrelevant, washed up singers who had one bit hit in the late 20th c. I'm not a snob. I like lots of pop music. I couldn't name a Nick Jonas song if I had a gun to my head.

by Anonymousreply 17July 21, 2015 10:32 AM

I hate the shaved head look.

by Anonymousreply 18July 21, 2015 10:33 AM

[quote]And that it's happened pretty much exactly like he said it would.

True.

Although obviously we still can't be sure what's happening just yet. We'll have to await further developments.

by Anonymousreply 19July 21, 2015 10:44 AM

He's much hotter with hair. He seems like a nice guy and is attractive, though I watched a few interviews with him on youtube and the poor guy has no personality at all. Probably from working in the biz since he was a kid, his answers to everything seem very calculated and rehearsed.

by Anonymousreply 20July 21, 2015 10:49 AM

More than selling his music to homosexual guys he is selling his body, his looks to us.

His music is mostly thought and meant to be bought by girls; portrayals of his semi-nude body are meant to be bought by gay guys. That's why he has made so many cover for different magazines.

But still, if he gets some of us to buy his music that's even better for him, but the main way in which he attempts to get money from us is by exhibiting his body for us.

He might as well be an ally, but also this is marketing. The music industry is not the land of roses that it used to be. Piracy everywhere so new ways to collect money must be exercised.

by Anonymousreply 21July 26, 2015 4:19 PM

Has he come out yet?

by Anonymousreply 22July 26, 2015 4:22 PM

Well im glad he is marketing the homosexual, BUT why would he target such a "small" audience when he already had the biggest market available to him (the heterosexual female)? It doesn't make sense, especially since he started gunning for gays since practically the beginning of his solo career.

by Anonymousreply 23July 26, 2015 4:28 PM

I like him too. But, I wish he would smile.

by Anonymousreply 24July 26, 2015 4:35 PM

10% or more of the human population is not small.

by Anonymousreply 25July 26, 2015 4:35 PM

We might be a small fraction of the entire human peoplulation but still we are millions of people and you have also to consider bisexuals who increase the amount exponentially.

Also, being and LGBT supporter is seen as morally correct these days. Women tend to like guys who support oppressed minorities, it makes them look like someone to look up to and creates that superhero-like vibe around them that girls love.

by Anonymousreply 26July 26, 2015 4:38 PM

Gays, I said "small" because if you read further down I compared it to the het female market, which is bigger. You also have to take into account the gays that won't like his music, don't know who he is or just plain don't care. Further reducing his market. But I have no problem with him doing this, I was just wondering why change like that. By all means Nick present hole if you want, I love that bubble butt of yours!

by Anonymousreply 27July 26, 2015 4:43 PM

Why can't we just celebrate that a young, up and coming singer is attempting to make himself available to the gay community and in so, is showing respect? I don't care if he's gay or not, and if he's closeted, he should come out. But he's indicated he is not, so why does the gay community have to nag and harass the guy, especially when he's attempting to be inclusive and show respect? Christ. The fucking American gay community grows more pathetic by the day in its obnoxious double standards.

by Anonymousreply 28July 26, 2015 4:50 PM

I just want to know the size of his biceps. Is Nick ever going to tell us? :P

by Anonymousreply 29July 26, 2015 5:09 PM

Yo, I'm cool with him and all, but I hate how he keeps saying he is advocating that straight male artists go out and reach out to gay fans. That is not new nor revolutionary. He is acting like he is a trailblazer.

by Anonymousreply 30July 27, 2015 4:19 PM

[quote]Has he come out yet?

Give him some time.

He only broke up with his girlfriend about a month ago.

This is a gradual process.

by Anonymousreply 31July 27, 2015 4:32 PM

R31 So you think he gave the vagina a chance and realized it wasn't for him? Now he slowly walking towards the penis?

by Anonymousreply 32July 27, 2015 4:34 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if he's walked back into a penis several times already.

by Anonymousreply 33July 27, 2015 4:36 PM

Nick's penis will never stimulate another guy's prostate. Stop dreaming.

by Anonymousreply 34July 27, 2015 5:55 PM

So he is a bottom then R34? With an ass like that, I can't blame him.

by Anonymousreply 35July 27, 2015 5:58 PM

Nick's prostate will never be stimulated by other guy's penis. Stop dreaming.

by Anonymousreply 36July 27, 2015 6:12 PM

Nick is straight and pandering for the gay dollar, if you are ok with that by all means support him.

by Anonymousreply 37July 27, 2015 7:13 PM

R20 is correct- he has no personality. At least Grace Jones and Bette Midler had that. And he wouldn't pander to us if he could really make a name for himself off his talent. So far his talents are looking good, being sexual, and talking in a positive way about the gay community. He really can't sing and his songs are cotton candy. The problem is that his other market is teenage girls. And their money is being used up by Taylor Swift. At some point the gay community is going to have to ask itself if being pandered to based on positive , sexualized actions is worth the insult. And it is an insult to pat me on the back, show me your ass, continue to tell me how straight you are, and offer nothing of substance to the field of culture you are pursuing. If he was a real talent and came to us because gay men have a history of promoting real talent I would be in for a penny , in for a pound. But right now he is only a lap dance. Don't we deserve better for our dollar?

by Anonymousreply 38July 27, 2015 7:30 PM

"you have also to consider bisexuals "

No, we don't. You're all fuckin' invisible and lazy, except in porn.

by Anonymousreply 39July 27, 2015 7:59 PM

r38, dude can sing.

by Anonymousreply 40July 27, 2015 11:40 PM

It is always good to embrace minorities nowadays, people see it as something admirable. The benefit is not only monetary but also your reputation as an artist and individual benefits from this.

Now, I haven't seen much about him supporting the cause froma political stance, it seems to be more about pandering, flirting, letting the guys see his muscles.

by Anonymousreply 41July 28, 2015 3:40 AM

Is he out yet?

by Anonymousreply 42July 28, 2015 4:28 AM

Are people going to ask that question every hour, R42?

by Anonymousreply 43July 28, 2015 4:47 AM

[quote]But I forget, this is DL and the worst thing a celebrity can do is be gay friendly.

True. It would be so much better if stars never mentioned their gay fans, totally ignored our community, and deflected any questions about gays.

by Anonymousreply 44July 28, 2015 4:57 AM

R40 sorry but he can't sing. The people that pass for talented these days. There was better music in 1880. Real singing requires more than a voice manipulated by a computer.

by Anonymousreply 45July 29, 2015 12:43 AM

But that ass R45... oh he sings too? Never noticed.

by Anonymousreply 46July 29, 2015 12:53 AM

R45 On the contrary, Jonas has been singing live, no autotune, since he was a child. He's actually better than most pop singers currently working.

I don't really understand what's up your ass with accusing gay-friendly stars of "pandering," but that's your agenda. However, when you try to disparage his singing, you just sound foolish.

by Anonymousreply 47July 29, 2015 12:54 AM

Why would an adult gay man care about this shit performer?

by Anonymousreply 48July 29, 2015 1:18 AM

I have to say that for as long as the Jonas Brothers have been famous, I still can't name one of their songs. But when Nick started promoting this album and his song "jealous" was climbing the charts, I decided to check out the rest of the album. And it is surprisingly very good! It's pop music - not social justice folk, genre fusion, re-invent the wheel sonic soundscapes - just well written, well performed pop music, which imho is in short supply these days. I choose to see his marketing towards gays as a compliment, because I'm old enough to remember when a pop star would squirm uncomfortably or run in the other direction if the word "gay" was brought up around him. It's just a sign of our progress that we are now seen as a group that a (supposedly, theoretically) straight male pop star should be marketing himself to.

by Anonymousreply 49July 29, 2015 1:27 AM

It isn't just trying to maket his music to a gay audience (not that there is anything wrong with that). He is playing a gay character on "Kingdom" and if some rumors are to believed is also going to be playing a gay character on "Scream Queens".

by Anonymousreply 50July 29, 2015 2:17 AM

R49 = the vouce of reason

[quote]I choose to see his marketing towards gays as a compliment, because I'm old enough to remember when a pop star would squirm uncomfortably or run in the other direction if the word "gay" was brought up around him.

It's the self-ghettoized gays who hate gay acceptance. They're still in the 1970s, living in the Castro or Key West, shunning the rest of the world with their bunker mentality.

by Anonymousreply 51July 29, 2015 2:17 AM

Voice, of course, not vouce.

by Anonymousreply 52July 29, 2015 2:19 AM

Nick needs to show more of his ass on "Kingdom" this season.

We only got a brief glimpse last year.

by Anonymousreply 53July 29, 2015 5:57 AM

Nick seldom swallows, but he never spits, so you decide how out he is. He has openly admitted his sphincter is quite tight as it has ripped condoms off of his sex partners more than once, for which he profusely apologized.

by Anonymousreply 54July 29, 2015 7:32 AM

Nick keeps his bush & his asshole naturally hairy.

by Anonymousreply 55July 29, 2015 8:52 AM

He's all mine now.
