I was a moody kid. This was old and in syndication when it played really early in the morning on Nickelodeon. I was up early because I was an insomniac and I loved it. Spartakus and The Sun Beneath The Sea (looking at the lead, it explains my Keanu Reeves fixation):

In retrospect, Hobo Kelly was a terrifying horror show, but as a toddler it was just a program about a funny lady who dressed as a clown, poured garbage into a machine, and made toys come out.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 17, 2015 7:14 PM |
Hobo Kelly! I think she lives in Idaho now.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 17, 2015 7:19 PM |
Thundarr the Barbarian! He's HOT HOT HOT
Also, immediately before or after Thundar, a cartoon about a (blonde?) astronaut that got lost in another galaxy/dimension. He, too, was HOT HOT HOT
I'd wake up from Friday night college hangovers to watch the shows
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 17, 2015 7:19 PM |
I'm R24. The astronaut was BLACKSTAR. He had black hair, not blonde. And was HOT HOT HOT.
Did anyone notice his friend Mara, the magic user. She had rather perky upright tits for a Saturday morning cartoon. (I wasn't into tits. It was just my justification to my roommate why I watched the show)
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 17, 2015 7:27 PM |
I was obsessed with the Transformers, She-Ra and Jem and the Holograms.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 17, 2015 7:32 PM |
The Flintstones (always on at lunch time); Bugs Bunny (Saturday nights); Spider Man; Scooby-Doo, Walt Disney (Sunday nights)
Sesame Street everyday in my pre-school days and during summer holidays
60s re-runs after school (The Monkees, Gilligan's Island, Beverley Hillbillies, Brady Bunch, Dick Van Dyke, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Eddie's Father etc.) and early mornings during the summer

My most favorite at the time was Sharon, Lois, and Bram's Elephant Show.
Heathcliff, David The Gnome, Muppet Babies, Eureeka's Castle, Tiny Toons, Noozles, and basically the whole Disney Afternoon programs. I was a very sick kid for a few years, if you can't tell.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 17, 2015 8:55 PM |
Didn't we all, R12? I also wanted to be one these kids, when I was 10 years old. (DL fave Lisa Whelchel in green pants, maroon top!)

The Flintstones (important!)
Scooby Doo
Saturday Superstar Movie
Speed Racer
Johnny Quest
Kimba the White Lion
Josie and the Pussycats
I also loved the one or two season oddities like Sabrina and the Groovy Goolies, Gilligan's Planet, Will the Real Jerry Lewis Please Sit Down?, Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space, The Brady Kids, The Batman/Superman Hour, etc.

Scooby's still watchable, and Looney Tunes rock, but I look at Speed Racer now and wonder what I saw in it. It's terrible.

I loved Davey and Goliath for its twitchy stop motion animation. The religious message was pretty soft sell, and as a little kid it got weirdly mixed-in with the fact that the dog talked, or didn't really talk, or talked only to Davey (although sometimes everyone in the family seems to understand him?) or maybe the dog was God talking--very confusing to a 4 year old, and still not something I've completely resolved.

I was never much of a cartoon kid, but remembered live action stuff like HR Pufnstuff and that thing where future DL legend Dee Dee Halls played some kind of Wonder Snatch.
I remember the old basics like Scooby Doo, and something called The Schmoo that was on for a second in the 80s.
