Newly Released Poll Proves Bernie Sanders Can’t Win In 2016 (CHART)

The Jewish thing proves to be an asset; the Atheist thing proves to be political suicide.

A similar analysis in 2006 would have proved that Barack Obama could not win.

The public are fickle AND you can't trust polls.

by Anonymousreply 1July 14, 2015 11:31 PM

Bernie Sanders is NOT Barack Obama.

by Anonymousreply 2July 15, 2015 1:54 AM

Like I said now Hillary for the win!

If he makes it clear that he is supportive of all practitioners of religion and supports religious freedom while standing firm about separation of church and state, he should be fine. But he would need to repeat ad nauseam for it to sink into all the thick headed Americans who enjoy being offended on behalf of their religion.

The life expectancy of a man in the United States is 76 years old. Bernie will be 75 next year.

by Anonymousreply 5July 15, 2015 3:26 AM

I don't understand the bernie fans who stubbornly think he has a chance. He has zero chance. He's a socialist and calls himself one. Americans will never vote for a socialist. He's already over 70 so he's already too old to run and to be taken seriously. But he's probably the type to run as an independent and suck the votes from Hilary. That's one way to get a GOP president.

The idealistic left wing (many of my friends) are simply delusional about Bernard's chances in a national election. It really is like a fairy tale "if the media gets behind Bernie, he will ride a wave of reform into Washington!" If, if, if... If I had a dollar for every time I heard "if."

R1 Obama was different. The Dems had 4 years to groom him. His breakthrough year was in 2004, when he unexpectedly won the Illinois Democratic primary for Senator, and then went on to win the election in November by a landslide. In between, his 1995 memoir DREAMS FROM MY FATHER was reissued and became a bestseller, and in August he gave the keynote speech at the DNC for Kerry/Edwards., for which he was praised in the media and started speculation about a presidential future. By February 2007, when he announced his candidacy, he'd already made strides within the party. It wasn't as spontaneous as some people think. He was young (46), charismatic, and affable -- the seemingly ideal candidate.

Bernie is none of those things. He's 73 now (75 during the election) and looks ancient, and though he can be an eloquent speaker, he oftentimes comes across as a grumpy old man. He also hasn't been preparing for his run for four years. In fact, it looks like HIS was spontaneous. His candidacy was announced two weeks after Hillary's and after Warren had made it clear (for the umpteenth time) that she wasn't running. Bernie also won't likely get the bulk of moderates that make up the Democratic Party. The only thing that he and Trump have in common is that they appeal to the extreme sides of each party. Trump has no chance of winning; why do you think Bernie does?

It's strange in a way. In Australia, our first female Prime Minister was a) not originally appointed via an election b) in a de facto relationship/unmarried c) no children d) atheist. That in itself wasn't really much of an issue with the wider electorate at least initially. However, other things (namely how she got the job as opposed to the orderly progression into the job most people expected to happen) did in the end and of course we definitely have a lot of our own political problems now with the people in charge.

Sanders will be 75 in 2016. Jesus. Those who think HRC is already too old should think about this: she can finish the first term and still be younger than how old Sanders is now. Even if he wins, he will probably only serve 1 term as he will be almost 80.

Damn, those Bernie fanatics are vile, and can't see the forest for the trees:

[quote]suck some more koch cock you traitor baby boomer your generation will be remembered for your greed vote bernie or kill yourself thats what millennials have to say

[quote]Curtis, here's the thing: I don't want Hillary. If Bernie Sanders isn't the Democratic nominee, I'm not going to vote.

[quote]If it turns out to be Bush VS. Clinton I will vote Libertarian... Go Bernie

[quote]He CAN win. All Bernie has to do is tweet out a location and 10,000 people show up. I don't think he ever thought he would win, but his message is strong and is about the America I believe in. He'll win and he'll do it without dark money.

[quote]Go ahead, vote Hillary. Usually our presidents wait until they become president to commit war crimes, but what the hell, she got that out of the way early. Go ahead and support state sponsored genocide. It's OK if it's blue, right?

by Anonymousreply 11July 15, 2015 4:41 AM

How do you go from voting for a Socialist to voting for a Libertarian?

by Anonymousreply 12July 15, 2015 4:47 AM

The nanosecond Sanders becomes a serious candidate for POTUS, bigoted American will in no uncertain terms remind him who and where he is.

by Anonymousreply 13July 15, 2015 5:04 AM

Polls don't 'prove' anything.

Especially polls published 19 months before the election.

We know that at least the smart one's! Bernie retire and enjoy the last couple of years of life!

Nobody currently obsessed with Bernie will ever admit that Hillary Clinton is not a crypto-Republican. The fact that she was determined to be the 11th most Liberal member of the Senate from 2000-2008 means nothing to them. I really like Hillary a lot, have met her three times, and believe she can win handily. With The Supreme Court entirely at stake I'm not going to tolerate these typical Democratic circular firing squad members who will destroy America, because their candidate simply cannot win more than 6-8 states.

by Anonymousreply 18July 16, 2015 5:58 AM

I wish the Sanders fanatics had enough self-awareness to admit that one of the main reasons they can't support Hillary Clinton is that she's not the shiny new toy that can excite them. She's been a household name for nearly twenty-five years and many people can't even remember a time in which she wasn't one of the most famous women in the world.

Sanders is the 2016 Dennis Kucinich.

by Anonymousreply 19July 16, 2015 6:09 AM

R11 is the typical DL Hillary fangurl with her fingers in her ears who shouted "La La La I can't hear you" every time someone questioned Queen Hillary's electability.
