Life has no dreams to offer me. Only nightmares.

I love The Canteen! Now I know the backstory. So nice to know it's a labor of love. And they are adorably handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 14, 2015 9:12 PM |
Anything to do with food service is a long-ago nightmare I shall never recreate.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 14, 2015 9:30 PM |
Do they do threesomes or orgies? Most of the couples in Ptown do, you know.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 14, 2015 9:55 PM |
i think I've had the guy on the left...
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 14, 2015 10:17 PM |
I wonder how much their restaurant makes each year?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 14, 2015 11:13 PM |
Have any of you eaten there? How was the food?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 15, 2015 12:29 AM |
It's so sweet. I love sweethearts opening businesses together. It's so optimistic.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 15, 2015 12:34 AM |
I hope people don't abuse the "Once Around the Garden" salad bar.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 15, 2015 12:48 AM |
Good shoes, I wish the whores only the best.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 15, 2015 12:55 AM |
The hot lobster roll is simple New England perfection (ask for some lemon). Frequently have lunch there in the mid-afternoon when it is quiet on the beach seating area.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 15, 2015 1:31 AM |
The crispy brussel sprouts with fish sauce are addictively good. They had a special lobster mac 'n' cheese that was also delicious. And the lobster rolls are excellent. It's a casual place, place your order and take a seat or in the garden out back. Alone, or with other people, it's a great little place to eat.

Shame that they couldn't muster more ambition in life than a gay diner in Ptown. Lets check back with them in 10 years m'kay?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 15, 2015 1:49 AM |
In ten years, you'll be purchasing artisanal soap from their gentleman's farm, r13.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 15, 2015 1:54 AM |
I loved their food. But I farted.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 15, 2015 2:27 AM |
R13 couldn't be a bigger asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 15, 2015 3:11 AM |
Went there a month ago. So Gross.

I have never had the money to start any sort of business. Or to buy a place. Never had the cash to buy a car, but being a city person, that's been ok.
At least I made it to the status of reasonably secure middle class salaried renter.
I had friends from college who managed to have the down payments for real estates, for starting up businesses. I can assure you, this was NEVER their own hard-earned money.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 27, 2015 3:07 PM |
At least it's not a cupcake joint
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 27, 2015 3:22 PM |
Now we know what happens to print media journalists who've been made redundant.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 27, 2015 3:31 PM |
I know it's a commercial, but I think they're swell!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 27, 2015 4:05 PM |
I hope they're still happy together. I wonder if their business survived.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 2, 2020 12:48 AM |
lol
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 2, 2020 12:49 AM |
R22: Takeout only, closes at 9 pm. I don't know how they're surviving but they're still hanging in there. Current menu below.
It's a good place - no idea what this summer, let alone the future holds, though.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 2, 2020 12:58 AM |
Well, they had a good run. Sweet guys though.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 2, 2020 1:07 AM |
Looks like the dream is over. But agree, nice guys.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 2, 2020 1:13 AM |
The whole thing is a car commercial!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 2, 2020 1:13 AM |
Bit of twinning happening with those lads ...
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 2, 2020 1:18 AM |
R22 yet another dimwit dredging up a 5 yr old thread.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 2, 2020 1:18 AM |
Sad ending.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 2, 2020 1:23 AM |
It's a lovely ad for a CAR.

Opening your own business and have it be successful is a huge victory, even if it doesn't last forever.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 3, 2020 2:52 PM |
A gay couple in business together? The meth? The threesomes that ended in tears? Now Coronavirus and potential looting? This will end in murder suicide.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 3, 2020 3:19 PM |
There is nothing more exhausting in life than realizing the popular dream of opening restaurant. What doesn't get eaten or stolen by the staff will rot, and the details are endless. I've worked in successful restaurants as a server and bartender and I was always taken aback at how much work was involved to make it a success.
I like their menu a lot and the prices aren't outrageous for a remote seasonal summer resort town, but I wish the cold fried chicken wasn't just thighs.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 3, 2020 3:44 PM |
Sounds like even P-towners are difficult when it comes to social distancing.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 3, 2020 5:09 PM |
I LOVE The Canteen. It stands out in a town of generally crappy food
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 3, 2020 8:19 PM |
R37 why does P-Town have such crappy food when it is bustling with big fat bottoms?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 2, 2021 6:33 PM |
Bump.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 21, 2022 5:05 AM |
R39 Yet another account for Muriel to redtag , hideous tubbo.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 21, 2022 7:10 AM |
Wow, he’s aged badly. I didn’t even recognize him. I was wondering who the old fat lesbian was. Compare to the video in the OP.
