Favorite Cocktail
What's your favorite cocktail? How do you make it?
My favorite alcoholic drink is the Caesar. Making a Caesar follows the "one, two, three, four" rule.
1–1½ oz of vodka, two dashes of hot sauce, three dashes of salt and pepper, four dashes of Worcestershire sauce and topped with 4–6 oz of Clamato and served with ice.
Ingredients are poured into a glass rimmed with celery salt or a mixture of salt and pepper and garnished with a celery stalk and lime. Tabasco sauce and horseradish can be added.

Your post just gave me spontaneous diarrhea, OP. Thanks a lot.

I don't usually criticize other people's tastes, OP, but "The Caesar" sounds ghastly. I think I'd rather drink a tall, cool glass of raw sewage.

I don't like celery, nor am I fond of Clamato, but I admire your starting a thread, OP.

Your tipple sounds awfully complicated.
1) 1 bottle of Stoli. Drink.

Thanks for posting, but that's a Bloody Mary, basically. Right, bartenders?

The Caesar is smoother than a Bloody Mary because it uses clamato juice instead of tomato juice, so the drink isn't as thick.. Trust me, you can't taste the clams. It's spicy, and doesn't appeal to everyone, but I like them.

R6 Great! I wasn't criticizing, just asking for clarification.
Still sounds like a take on a Bloody Mary, smoothness aside. F'it, Id drink 2 or 3.

Combining troublesome ex-members with tomato juice could solve a few problems! Thanks for the tip.

In the Summer you can't beat a Pimm's Cup, made with Pimm's #1. It's a bit of a hassle to make, but very refreshing and colorful. See you on the veranda, guys.

A friend turned me on to a cocktail called a Corpse Reviver (she's a mortician, natch): it's one of those old time "hair of the dog" Prohibition era cocktails to cure a hangover. Equal parts gin, triple sec, Lillet Blanc and fresh lemon juice, plus a splash of Pernod or Absinthe. Just shake it all together and strain into a Martini glass.

I shall try this if I ever become mentally ill and wish to be bulemic.

A relative married a South African who loved Pimms but decided to make an American version with iced tea because Pimm's cup was a bit cumbersome to make. It was good.

The N****ni. With orange peel (classic), not lemon. The brand of gin and vermouth you should use leads to arguments.

My bartender has a version of the Negroni called the Niggroni- it’s equal parts malt liquor, watermelon juice and grape soda. Served una Collins glass straight up.

I love fancy, complicated drinks--when someone else makes them. I have a friend who has been reading old James Bond novels these past months since he's working from home, and he has been making drinks mentioned in those books. I can't remember the names of them now. Many of them were super strong and had alcohol and ingredients I didn't particularly care for, but I'll always try at least one drink. (We drink on his patio, socially distanced, FYI)
I mostly make my version of Moscow Mule--diet Ginger Beer, vodka, crushed mint, lots of limes, vodka. Sometimes for the holidays I put cranberry juice and fresh cranberries in it. Last Christmas, I had a few people over and made this vodka Christmas punch that was a big hit. Won't be needing to make that this year!
I had been drinking a lot during the last few months of semi-quarantine and working from home, but I haven't had alcohol in a several weeks now. Just kind of got bored with it, I guess? This thread is making me thirsty, though.

I used to LOVE Crown Royal and ginger ale with lemon. I don't know what happened, but now I can't even stand the smell of Crown. I can handle it in a punch with a lot of other flavors, but that's about it.

My two preferred drinks are a good Bloody Mary and a Kentucky Mule (which gets made various ways, but below is the one I like.)
Kentucky Mule
-Bourbon
-Fresh lime juice
-Ginger beer
-Simple syrup
(I prefer without bitters)

Lately I've taken to Old Fashioneds and Whiskey Sours as long as they're made with a good bourbon.

The last time I did anything remotely advanced with cocktail making was this summer when I made some low cal margaritas with Swerve instead of sugar, and with a jalapeno simple syrup. Very good!

Vodka, ice, frozen blueberries and/or fresh watermelon, top off with water.

OP- Thank you for a sugarless cocktail. I love a spicy Bloody Mary, and next time I'll try your recipe.
I normally drink vodka, soda and roses lime or a Manhattan, in a bar.
In the street, I stumble around with beer in a paper bag or walk to the corner for an airline size bottle of Smirnoff which can be found for a dollar uptown and 3.50 in mid-town. Why waste time in a bar when everything interesting is happening outside.

Dry vodka martini with an olive. A good martini takes the edge off everything.
I also like champagne so wouldn't say no to a bellini or mimosa

Don't waste real Champagne on a Bellini (use Prosecco) or Mimosa (use Cava).
