Samsung Note 3

I'm so disgusted with the OS updates since Jellybean I'd almost consider a Windows or Apple phone.

by Anonymousreply 3July 5, 2015 5:33 AM

Don't carry one. Life is great. Not a Luddite. Wealthy.

by Anonymousreply 4July 5, 2015 5:34 AM

Landline.

Mobiles are for automatons.

by Anonymousreply 5July 5, 2015 5:37 AM

Even very wealthy people have cell phones, R4.

My mother loves the "simple" old Vertu phone she has but she'd never be without it.

LG flip phone. I'm quite happy with it.

I got rid of the landline about a month ago. Don't miss alone telemarketers.

by Anonymousreply 15July 5, 2015 12:49 PM

The idea that not carrying a phone is a sign of being wealthy is as outdated as the idea that not carrying a phone makes you a luddite.

While it may have been true that not carrying a phone suggested a level of autonomy and self-determination by not wanting or needing to respond to other people on their timetable, today smart phones are more than mere communications devices.

With the entertainment, informational, and educational access available through ebooks, podcasts, internet access, not carrying a phone is just clining to the silly pretension of old ideas.

iPhone 6 Plus. No land line.

by Anonymousreply 17July 5, 2015 12:52 PM

My "people" carry my smartphone.

I am told everything I need to know when I ask for it.

by Anonymousreply 18July 5, 2015 1:28 PM

iPhone 6Plus.

No landline.

by Anonymousreply 19July 5, 2015 1:30 PM

Iphone 6+ and a landline I will never give up.

Galaxy Note 2, and a landline.

by Anonymousreply 22July 5, 2015 3:25 PM

I don't understand the people who say they still have a landline, like it is some badge of honor. I lump them in with the people who still write checks. Adapt and move forward.

by Anonymousreply 23July 5, 2015 3:29 PM

they sound better, the fidelity on my landline is better than on any cell phone in any area of reception. you ever try to make a call in NYC on a cellphone? it's cuts out most of the time. My landline is crystal clear any time of day or night. it's cheaper too

by Anonymousreply 24July 5, 2015 3:31 PM

R23 There's nothing wrong with having a landline. It's much better for emergencies because of 911 and because it rarely goes down. And I mean a REAL landline, not VOIP.

by Anonymousreply 25July 5, 2015 3:32 PM

How many emergencies are you having R25?

by Anonymousreply 26July 5, 2015 3:37 PM

If you live in a hurricane-prone area, your electricity will go out much earlier than your landline telephone.

by Anonymousreply 27July 5, 2015 3:38 PM

Hey, in NYC they still ask for cancelled checks to prove you paid rent regularly at a previous home. I had to explain what they meant by that to my non-native friend.

by Anonymousreply 28July 5, 2015 3:44 PM

Z3

by Anonymousreply 29July 5, 2015 3:46 PM

R26 It only takes one.

by Anonymousreply 30July 5, 2015 3:48 PM

You didn't answer the question R30. But that's okay. I'm not judging you and your landline, I just don't understand why you're so proud of the fact that you have a landline. It's a phone.

by Anonymousreply 31July 5, 2015 3:56 PM

I have a landline. Don't like the high-pitched Tone Ringer. I connected my old Western Electric black rotary phone so when the phone rings, I hear a bell.

by Anonymousreply 32July 5, 2015 3:58 PM

iPhone 5

I also have a landline. I should probably get rid of it, but I just feel secure with it.

by Anonymousreply 33July 5, 2015 4:00 PM

[quote]Landline. Mobiles are for automatons.

Who needs a cellphone when you never go out?

Ditched my landlines 11 years ago. I understand that some people may need one for emergencies but I live in a large city. I've never needed a landline. I have used my cell phone to call AAA and 911 (not for me).

by Anonymousreply 34July 5, 2015 4:06 PM

It's hard to dial a cellphone with a pencil.

by Anonymousreply 35July 5, 2015 4:12 PM

iPhone 6S.
