Leaked emails reveal Hillary Clinton has always supported LGBTI rights
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 27, 2020 1:04 AM |
Hmm a convenient revelation after the SCOTUS ruling.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 2, 2015 3:52 PM |
Wow, so she supported the right of gay Iraqis not to be tortured to death. She's basically Larry Kramer in a skirt!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 2, 2015 4:04 PM |
r2, that makes what she's about even better. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in power to give a shit about Middle Eastern gays.

R3 It's extremely easy to find people in the West agitating for Mideast gays. Even those who oppose gay rights at home, people who would not think twice before throwing us in jails, do that. Cf. Santorum, Rick. He's had things to say about gays in Iran. Perhaps Gay Star News can have an article about how he's always supported LGBTQIADBZ rights, too. Neocons, Zionists and the like love using Mideast savagery as a lightning rod for the left-wing impulses of gay people and feminists, so they will promote change abroad and neglect transformation at home. There's nothing brave about doing that - there's nothing courageous about denouncing human rights abuses in other countries, especially in Third World countries, and the Mideast on top of it, the most easily criticizable piece of land in the world (though Africa is not far behind).

I'm voting Republican!

OP doesn't know the definition of "always."
"I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman." - Hillary Rodham Clinton
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 2, 2015 5:32 PM |
And she has changed her mind, as have millions of people in the last five years. Have the grace to allow people to evolve, as Obama did.

If we elected her President in 2008, she would have gone into office opposing same-sex marriage. She is a politically opportunistic follower rather than a ethically-driven leader on gay rights issues. That is a distinction that we need to keep in mind.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 2, 2015 6:07 PM |
Obama was opposed to same-sex marriage in 2008. As I recall, he dodged a LOGO debate during his campaign which Hillary and other candidates attended. There were no "ethically driven" candidates supporting SSM in 2008. They all "evolved" - well, at least the Democrats did.
If we elected her President in 2008, she would have gone into office opposing same-sex marriage. She is a politically opportunistic follower rather than a ethically-driven leader on gay rights issues.
As did Obama. Please cite something to support your claim she is "a politically opportunistic follower rather than a ethically-driven leader on gay rights issues." Here's my refutation, in advance.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 2, 2015 6:12 PM |
Um, for those complaining about Hillary changing her mind about gay marriage, when will the GOP candidates change their minds?
R9, your reasoning should be why we should not vote for any GOP candidate.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 2, 2015 6:19 PM |
Who cares if Hillary is a true believer or an opportunist--at least she says she supports gay rights. I don't care why she does. She just does.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 2, 2015 6:20 PM |
Now there's a fucking "i" on the label. For fuck's sake just put every goddamned letter in the alphabet and throw in a couple of Chinese characters and be done with it. The sad part about this story is that gays everywhere will lap up every drop when you know that cow faked this.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 2, 2015 6:23 PM |
For you, R11:
Hillary in her 2000 Senate campaign: "Marriage has got historic, religious, and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time, and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman."
Hillary describing "bedrock principles" in 2004: "I believe marriage is not just a bond but a sacred bond between a man and a woman. I have had occasion in my life to defend marriage, to stand up for marriage, to believe in the hard work and challenge of marriage. So I take umbrage at anyone who might suggest that those of us who worry about amending the Constitution are less committed to the sanctity of marriage, or to the fundamental bedrock principle that it exists between a man and a woman, going back into the midst of history as one of the founding, foundational institutions of history and humanity and civilization, and that its primary, principal role during those millennia has been the raising and socializing of children for the society into which they are to become adults."
I am not saying the Republicans are better. They are worse, of course. But Hillary once declared her opposition to same-sex marriage as a matter based on "fixed principles" to which she pretended to adhere ten years ago. Today the wind has changed and her attachment to those "moral foundations" is not as firm and unyielding as she once declared them to be, in very certain terms.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 2, 2015 6:25 PM |
R15 And how is that any different from any other democrat? You're clearly avoiding that question. Why can't you answer it?
I am not saying the Republicans are better. They are worse, of course.
Yet you're treating Hillary worse than any of the Republican candidates. Most of whom are still against it.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 2, 2015 6:42 PM |
Not defending the Republicans exactly, but at least they are consistent. Hillary and many Dems "evolved" when the social tide was changing. They in no way drove any change in opinions on gay marriage.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 2, 2015 6:44 PM |
R16, I am not saying she is worse than any other Democrat. I am reminding you that for a long time she presented herself as the defender of a "fixed bedrock foundational principle" that marriage is strictly between one man and one woman. I am not comparing her to anyone but herself.
Her own words and deeds show her to be driven by opportunism rather than fixed principles. No one else's actions have any bearing on it. She blows with the wind. She is a flip-flopper just like Mitt Romney. She supports us only when it's to her benefit to support us. Keep that in mind. That is who she is.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 2, 2015 6:47 PM |
So, you're problem is consistency? Again, Obama evolved, as did Hillary. Joe Biden wasn't for it 10 years ago either.
I detect a troll.
Leaked emails reveal Hillary Clinton has always supported LGBTI rights
Her public statements say otherwise.
So she's a liar? A coward? A flip-flopper?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 2, 2015 6:48 PM |
R19, Obama is not running for President any more and Biden isn't running at all. A woman President is going to give us all a lesson in never taking accountability for anything you said or did, even in she did it a hundred times in front of a hundred witnesses. Hillary will be as Teflon-coated as Reagan. Nothing will ever stick to her but money.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 2, 2015 6:51 PM |
Obama is not running for President any more and Biden isn't running at all
And yet Hillary was for same sex rights before either of them voiced their approval.
A woman President is going to give us all a lesson in never taking accountability for anything you said or did
Hillary Clinton doesn't owe you a thing.
You're not foolish enough to think you have a leg to stand on in this next election? Or are we still pretending that Sanders has a chance? In which case you don't get to call others out on peddling bullshit.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 2, 2015 6:59 PM |
Yes, r19, call me crazy but I prefer someone who actually believes what they say and don't "evolve" spontaneously when it will get them votes. A visible enemy is much more preferable to one who is hidden.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 2, 2015 7:02 PM |
R23 There is no Presidential candidate that fits your criteria, then.
So go write your hurt feelings in a diary, precious.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 2, 2015 7:04 PM |
R22, I assume our elections are charades that are not actually decided by anyone other than the elites. Hillary is a One Percenter who will not trouble the One Percent any more than necessary to throw a few crumbs at the 99% while she and the other Capitalist Pigs go on banqueting at the trough. She's better than a Republican but not nearly better enough.
The USA won't rise again until after it all collapses. The corruption is too entrenched. Nothing will save us before destruction overtakes us. It's a sad view to have but I honestly don't think we can count on the Plutocrats to restore a fair and just society when they have worked so hard to create their New World Order, to which the Clintons are as devoted as the Bushes .

How much longer until someone mentions Illuminati and the lizard people?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 2, 2015 7:11 PM |
How much longer, R26, before you realize that Globalism benefits the very rich at the expense of everyone else?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 2, 2015 7:14 PM |
And while you mock the existence of an Illuminati, can you at least tell us what people this financial consultant is referring to when he mentions "Hank Paulson and the Illuminati of the country, if you will" on this CNBC program.

" I detect a troll. "
BINGO R19!!!!!!!
He has ONLY commented many times over on THIS THREAD.
TROLL!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 2, 2015 7:23 PM |
I am not a troll, just interested in this discussion. But I'd rather be troll than a Lady Gaga fan, R29, speaking of Illuminati Lizard People.

R17 Obama in fact DID drive the change in national opinion on gay marriage.
When he stated he was for it, numerous prominent prominent black organizations immediately said so too, which convinced the black population--this is what tipped it over 50%.
Look at the polls just before and after his announcement. HE made the difference.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 2, 2015 7:36 PM |
Party on, R31. The jig will be up sooner than you know it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 2, 2015 7:37 PM |
No, he didn't, r17. He took advantage of an opportunity when the mindset of America was changing. He didn't influence a damn thing.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 2, 2015 7:39 PM |
@R17 Are you saying we would be better off if everyone who was once against gay marriage and has now evolved into supporting it, was consistent in their original opinion.? You sound stupid. "At least Republicans are consistent" - yeah that is a real plus for us moron.

If Hillary is so great why did Little Rock not get gay pride until after the Clintons left.

Because it's a Southern conservative state that took many years to become progressive?

Non-answer R37. Other equally horrible places had them.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 3, 2015 3:43 AM |
I think the real measure of support goes to whether or not a candidate runs for president with a publicly declared stance in favor of equal rights or not. Obama's done it it once already, now Hillary will too.

Little Rock has a Gay Pride? I guess the Clinton's loosened up those old goats after all.
They should make Hukabee the Grand Marshall.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 3, 2015 5:12 AM |
Gee, I didn't realize it was the First Lady of a state rather than the gay community that organized Pride parades. I must send Nancy Reagan a fruit basket!

Exactly. I think she'd go Republican in a heartbeat if she thought it'd get her into the White House.
I'll vote for the Deocratic candidate whoever it is, I just hope it's not her.
Hillbots, please explain her appeal.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 3, 2015 5:34 AM |
I'm liking Sanders. Not sure how I'll vote, though.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 3, 2015 5:39 AM |
I'll vote her since I know sight unseen that the Repub nominee will be a huge sack of shit. Though, I have no doubt that she hasn't always supported gay marriage since 20 years ago was a fantasy to most of us. But, she's smart and vicious when crossed, so she might get something accomplished.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 3, 2015 6:04 AM |
Who cares. She is a demon.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 3, 2015 11:55 AM |

Agreed; but Oscar Wilde was also a Socialist and an Anarchist. He'd be mortified to know that his words were being used to argue the cause of a politician; much less one as far to the Right as Hillary.
[italic]"I adore political parties. They are the only place left to us where people don't talk politics."[/italic]
[italic]"How marriage ruins a man! It is as demoralizing as cigarettes, and far more expensive."[/italic]
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 3, 2015 12:24 PM |
Can she "leak" the ones about where all The Clinton Foundation money went? Or what deals her brother was making with Haiti, while she was negotiating a US aid assistance package? How about the ones with The Russian Government confirming Billie's paid, speaking spot, right after the botched US uranium deals, bounced through Canada? Thanks!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 3, 2015 2:50 PM |
I'm confused. So was she just lying all those years when she said she didn't support it? Because she said her opinion "evolved." It's hard to understand what the old bat really thinks about anything since she talks out of both sides of her mouth so much.
