Jeff Lewis' show Flipping Out has not had good ratings for several years now...why does Bravo keep renewing his show?

At one time, he had the highest rated non-housewife show on Bravo, but his popularity has waned in recent years. I attribute it to the show becoming stale, and the addition of his boyfriend Gage, who is very unlikable. Jenny also doesn't seem in to it anymore.

This will probably be the last season.

Gage comes off as a total cunt. Jeff, while plenty cunty, also has a playful side.

I miss that show Million Dollar Decorators. It was a much better show than the insipid Million Dollar Listing shows.

I love Jeff. He's a sarcastic bitch who reminds me of your average DLer, so his personality is exactly what drew me in. With that said, I fell behind (trying to watch less tv in general) & haven't watched it since Gage joined the show. Most of Bravo's newer shows have been godawful crap, so I don't see any reason to drop this one when its replacement would probably be even worse.

Flipping Out and The D-List were the only shows I watched on Bravo.

I love watching Flipping Out. Jenny and Zoila are two of my favorite people on the show.

One of my favorite lines from the show was when a real estate agent pointed out the junior high school down the street and said Gage could walk to school from there.

They need to bring back Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Jeff is much more likable in person. Gage, of course, is way more cunty then you could imagine.

They are dragging this show to the ground because it's the same old rehashed stuff it is becoming very boring. The show can be supremely filthy and it gets tiresome. The only two people I like on the show are Jenny and Zola. Trace was extremely handsome but he was extremely major fem and queen of lispers. That assistant who has been on the show is beyond gross and filthy and he is extremely obnoxious. They should get rid of him UGH!

I watched the last 2 episodes of the last season recently and I guess I didn't know how nasty Jeff's boyfriend is. He was a bigger cunt than Jeff is.

At least Jeff is half-way funny in his nasty remarks...he treats his workers/servants like "bad daddy." He beats them verbally but later apologizes.

Jeff said this week that he'd probably make more money flipping houses than his current design/remodel business brings in, and it would be a lot less stressful. If he only did a couple flips a year, he could easily net $1 million in the LA market. He wouldn't need all the extra employees, either, and that would save over $100k a year. I guess he's afraid the real estate market will crash again and he'll be left holding the bag like he was in 2008. I would take the risk, especially since he also gets a nice income from the show and his product lines.

The former business partner's name was Ryan, and I don't think he threw Jeff under the bus. I believe Gage had a hand in twisting things, because he was jealous of Jeff's relationship with Ryan.

With that said, I do agree the show was better with Ryan and when they were flipping houses. Besides, this home decorating business, gets a little stale to look at, each and every time.

My mother watches the show and she told me she watched Wendy Williams interview Jeff. My mother was really surprised how nice and very mellow and laid back he was. Windy Williams said you say somethings that can hurt people ,and Jeff said I know and I am working on setting up boundaries because I go over the line many times. Jeff said he is starting to get a lot of celebrity clients because they have watched the show. He said Kris Jenner hired him and he asked her a question and she said to him, I have people who answer the questions I don't. Can you believe that loser making that statement as if she is royalty?

For comparison, Tabatha Takes Over (which I think has been cancelled) did well in the ratings until its last 2 seasons. Apparently, Jeff went on Wendy an WWHL to say they are really close to becoming parents. I'm at least glad they are not having Gage's kid.

He said the first child will be biologically his, and he's not marrying Gage. Those two things tell me that he doesn't want to be legally attached to Gage.

California is a community property state, which means that Gage would get half of all assets acquired during the marriage. That's why Jeff doesn't want to marry him. Jeff could get a prenup, but Gage could still contest it in court, and it could potentially be very messy and costly, especially with a child involved. I also think that Jeff wants to leave a portion of his estate to Jenny and Zoila if something should happen to him, and maybe he thinks it's better not to have Gage in control of everything.

If Jeff and Gage are still together years from now, I'm sure Jeff would marry him and make it legal.

It looks like Jeff pocketed somewhere around $700-800k on the house after you factor in remodeling costs and realtor fees. He spent a lot of money remodeling that place.

The prior season of flipping out was so bad that I had decided not to watch it ever again. All the foolishness and pranks were annoying with Andrew making the show unwatchable.

I reluctantly started watching this latest season and it's not too bad considering. At least Jennifer Louise (all her close friends call her that) has calmed down and there is more focus on the business and design. The catalog shoot episode was interesting - gives a better insight to how it all comes together. The passing of Jeff's cat was sad - I recall when Monkie passed several seasons ago. If you've ever had a pet then you know how difficult the passing of one can be.

Little Matthew is kinda cute but doesn't say much although they did have a clip at the end of the 2nd episode where he just rambled on. Maybe it's best he says as little as possible. Hopefully this season will continue on a more structured path and not wander off into any crazy antics as in the past.

Fired from his work for a furniture company

Lets face it.. Jeff is not the easiest guy to work with, he often gets stressed, has obvious add, and doesn't work well with others. Thing is.. if the market is getting better like he says, he really should get back into the flipping business. Sure, it's more risky, but I feel like he'd be happier doing that. This design job is too stressful for him and it just doesn't look like his heart is fully in it. I also feel like he's better at doing the big jobs, than the smaller design ones. Idk.. it just doesn't seem like doing small design jobs for others is really his passion, his passion is flipping houses and that's where it's always been. Maybe that's why he's looked miserable for the last few seasons. He even said it himself.. designing for others is not something he forever wants to do, it was only meant to be temporary until the market picked up again, and it has. It's time to move on.

I never really cared for Gage or found him attractive - until this season. What show are you watching that Gage works to undermine Zoila? Yeah, the first year he was on screen, there was back and forth between them that he seemed to start about half the time and he would make comments to Jeff that seemed to be undermining her, but the last two years - particularly this year - he largely remains silent while she continuously runs her mouth, putting him down. He has laughed at her, but typically waits for one of the others in the room to say something or start laughing. He's been going out of his way it seems to stay silent where she is concerned, but she can't help baiting him constantly. They clearly don't care for one another but at least this year, he's not being the aggressor - she is.
