When she married Melcher (her 3rd husband), Melcher adopted him and gave him his last name. A bit odd since Jorden was still alive. Anyway, here is pic of Doris and Jorden. You can see some resemblence to Ryan.

Basically Doris's grandson looks okay. He doesn't have to look like a movie star - most people don't. His father wasn't a stunner and he takes after his father and his mother. Terry Melcher (Doris's son) divorced his first wife, who bore him his son, married another woman, and it tore the family apart. Doris and grandson drifted apart.

Ryan definitely has Grandma Doris's beautiful blue eyes.
