He really needs to send his resume to the "Game of Thrones" people.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 25, 2015 2:47 AM |
He hasn't sucked the right cock.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 25, 2015 2:56 AM |
I guess he was never serious about acting as a career.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 25, 2015 2:58 AM |
I was wondering the same thing R4? Does he actually want to act?
I have no idea, but he signed up for this damn movie when he was 6, who knows if he gives a damn about acting anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 25, 2015 3:02 AM |
On one of the red carpet interviews in the part couple weeks I saw him say that he wants to try to make a career out of acting now.

Patrick Fugit
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 25, 2015 3:24 AM |
Let me state the obvious: he is TERRIBLE. Audiences watched him grow less and less appealing before our eyes in BOYHOOD. He was, in fact, the least attractive and involving performer in the movie.
I predict BOYHOOD will remain an interesting cinematic footnote but we won't see or hear from this guy again.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 25, 2015 3:47 AM |
I'd like to cast him in my Alan Turing biopic.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 25, 2015 3:49 AM |
R8 Lots of terrible actors have had successful careers in Hollywood. Maybe he'll wind up in some ScyFy shows and a couple of slasher movies.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 25, 2015 3:50 AM |
Not surprised. If he were a better actor he could've easily landed an Oscar nomination. Plus, he proved the theory that cute does NOT age well.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 25, 2015 3:51 AM |
Not everyone can hace a career like me bitches.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 25, 2015 4:06 AM |
He looked cute, cuddling up with his dad during Patricia's Oscar speech.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 25, 2015 4:41 AM |
There was discussion of this on the Oscars thread.
I think he was snuggling against Patricia's boyfriend when she was giving her speech. He had walked up the aisle to get some love from her - she dissed him inadvertently and walked up on stage.
Then they showed him seated and leaning cozily against a beaded man while she spoke. I {and others} believe he was in Patricia's vacant seat being loving {in a friendship way} with her man.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 25, 2015 5:02 AM |
I'm sure at the very least Linklater will employ him in his films in perpetuity.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 25, 2015 5:06 AM |
He has behaved like a sullen, petulant brat the entire awards season. He rivals Kristen Stewart in being Just. So. Over. It.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 25, 2015 5:15 AM |
I'm thinking that Ellar Coltrane is a introvert and suffers from stage fright.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 25, 2015 5:32 AM |
R13, I believe that was Patricia Arquette's boyfriend, not his father.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 25, 2015 9:00 AM |
He reminds me of Nick Stahl.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 26, 2015 2:37 AM |
He could be kind of cute. Has decent dick-sucking lips.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 26, 2015 2:51 AM |
[quote]He really needs to send his resume to the "Game of Thrones" people.
You're right. He has dwarf-face (yes, dwarf-face is a thing just like gayface). He could play Peter Dinklage as a kid in flashbacks.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 26, 2015 2:59 AM |
Did he cost Boyhood the Oscar (in person, not the film)? He seems so glum in the promotion.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 26, 2015 3:05 AM |
I think he's pretty cute, and will grow into his looks a bit more. I mean, I'd fuck him. And yeah, those lips were made to suck cock.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 26, 2015 3:08 AM |
Also, isn't he gay? He sure seems like it.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 26, 2015 3:09 AM |
As he got older, he seemed to become more self-conscious and lost the naturalness to his acting.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 26, 2015 3:11 AM |
He is a cutie, so the gays are hoping he's one of them. Who knows? Perhaps he doesn't know yet. Sometimes it takes a while for a man to figure those things out.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 26, 2015 3:12 AM |
Linklater just announced he's doing a boyhood sequel called Manhood. "At first, I said we're done with the story. But as time went on, I kept thinking that your 20's are such an important time in your life with so many things happening. It really shapes your life."
So he's going to be employed for the next 12 years.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 26, 2015 3:15 AM |
I'm okay with that.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 26, 2015 3:27 AM |
He made a beautiful and very articulate speech accepting the BAFTA for Best Picture. He's a very smart and very sensitive kid. Whether or not he will develop into a good actor or even want to - who knows?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 26, 2015 3:49 AM |
Linklater should try to achieve the Thomas Cole painting cycle Journey through Life.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 26, 2015 3:53 AM |
What is up with his boar nose piercing?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 26, 2015 7:22 AM |
Why isn't anyone recognizing that the kid needs to be on anti-depressants stat.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 27, 2015 1:05 AM |
I saw him cuddling up to this bearded man at the Oscars. I don't know who the bearded man is and can't find pics online of it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 27, 2015 1:48 AM |
how about rosco p. coltrane. lol
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 27, 2015 1:55 AM |
This isn't a very long thread r33.
Both r14 and r18 point out that was Patricia Arquette's boyfriend he was nuzzling against while she was giving her speech.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 27, 2015 1:56 AM |
It's lined up, not lined-up.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 27, 2015 1:58 AM |
R33 it was his father who is an Austin musician
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 27, 2015 3:45 AM |
[quote]Plus, he proved the theory that cute does NOT age well.
How can you say that about someone who is barely out of his teens? Are you saying that no cute kid ever turned into a cute young man?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 27, 2015 7:30 AM |
I hope he continues to act.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 27, 2015 11:44 PM |
He's not an unattractive kid, he's just clearly in the end zone of his awkward stage. He has fairly strong features; I could see him growing into his looks in his late 20s/early 30s. I thought he gave a very natural performance in "Boyhood" and had good chemistry with both Patricia and Ethan.
Plus, how can anyone say he was the worst actor in Boyhood when the Linklater spawn mugged, mumbled and simpered her way through it for 12 straight years?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 28, 2015 12:04 AM |
Unfortunately as an adult he looks too much like Michael Shannon.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 28, 2015 12:10 AM |
Nor should he. He's awful.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 28, 2015 12:15 AM |
[quote] I hope he continues to act.
When did he start?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 28, 2015 12:18 AM |
His father is a sort of troubadour:
"His father, Bruce Salmon, grew up in a conservative, wealthy New Orleans family, according to New York. He later became a traveling musician, Coltrane told Mother Jones magazine, even playing in one of Austin’s most popular bands, Joe Rockhead, when Coltrane was young. His mother was a dancer who did performance-art pieces, and a painter. Now she works with autistic people through a company that provides horse-riding lessons and equine therapy, Coltrane said, according to Mother Jones."

[quote]If he were a better actor he could've easily landed an Oscar nomination.
I didn't think he was that bad. He reminded me of some teens I knew growing up. Rather laid back and seemingly uninterested in life; shortsighted.
Anyway, even if he had given a phenomenal performance (if the script had called him to be more emotive), he still wouldn't have landed a nomination, easily or otherwise.
The Academy hands out nominations like candy to female actresses. In the past ten years, they have nominated 7 for Best Actress who were under 25, three of them barely out of their teens, one just turned a teenager, and one a child not even double digits: Quvenzhané Wallis (9 for BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD), Jennifer Lawrence (20 for WINTER'S BONE & 22 for SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK), Carey Mulligan (24 for AN EDUCATION), Ellen Page (20 for JUNO), Keira Knightley (20 for PRIDE & PREJUDICE), Catalina Sandino Moreno (23 for MARIA FULL OF GRACE), Keisha Castle-Hughes (13 for WHALE RIDER).
On the other hand, they haven't nominated an actor under 25 for Best Actor since John Travolta (24) for SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER in 1977. And in the past ten years, only 3 actors in their twenties have been nominated: Jesse Eisenberg (27), Ryan Gosling (26), Heath Ledger (26).
Coltrane just turned 20 last August. After Travolta, the youngest nominees are Mickey Rooney twice (23 for THE HUMAN COMEDY and 19 for BABES IN ARMS) over 70 years ago, and Jackie Cooper (9 in SKIPPY) over 80 years ago.
He had no chance.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 1, 2015 2:24 AM |
Coltrane was excellent in Boyhood, but it's unclear whether he wants an acting career. I also thought the young woman who played his girlfriend was excellent, and it turns out she's appearing in an upcoming film alongside Julia Roberts. Hopefully Roberts doesn't eat her with her velociraptor mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 1, 2015 2:54 AM |
I hope he gets a role soon.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 1, 2015 5:35 PM |
I think he is pretty hot actually! Would bet good money he has a great cock. He should do gay porn to open his horizons!

by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 17, 2015 3:14 PM |
I have mixed feelings about Michael Shannon. He's a great actor when playing psychos like in Take Shelter, but otherwise he's so off-putting. Couldn't accept him playing a hero for example.
I kinda hope Coltrane doesn't try to pursue an acting career unlike the little girl who got an Oscar nom for Beast of the Southern Wild and showed up in the godawful Annie remake.
Some child actors could actually go to college and get jobs as accountants. The moviegoing public would be better off.

Hollywood already has a glut of Aspie types: Jesse Eisenberg; Ansel Elgort; Michael Cera...
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 17, 2015 11:33 PM |
I hope he continues to act. He's really handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 17, 2015 11:38 PM |

Ellar's becoming a model. Plus he became friends with RJ Mitte in Milan.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 30, 2015 6:16 AM |
you know who else has no projects in the waiting wings so in the meantime he decided to start a motivational speaking tour.
None other than the Red Ranger Andrew Gray from Super Megaforce. After Power Rangers he faded away into obscutiry land.
Now he's attempting a career as a motivational speaker.
Now this sounds familiar, The last time some one attempted a motivational speaker career after their bread and butter had ran out, they ended up marrying an attention seeking whore of a wife and ended up having two kids with her plus playing parent to said whore's other kids from that whore's previous marriage which she fucked up by cheating on the previous husband, then sticking around for 23 years married to her, then divorcing her ass, then turning himself into a woman. Now who could this have been? I have no idea but any ways Andrew Gray needs a job.

Same here, especially when he's playing the typical role of crazy, unstable, dangerous. He scares me but also turns me on.

The nostril ring he's wearing on his cover shoot is disgusting.

They are still working according to IMDB.
I say "they" because according to Coltrane's Wikipedia page, they have preferred pronouns.
