Answer to your query lies in why so many straight men, women and couples use surrogates; they want children genetically related to themselves or at leas their spouse.

Surrogacy is booming for gays and straights because it is a finite business transaction. Straights and gays from all over the world come to the USA for surrogacy due to our strong contract laws.

Sunday New York Times Magazine a few months ago did a cover article on surrogacy in the USA. It was supposed to be about the business in general but as with many other NYT pieces focused mostly on gays both in the USA and those who come here to use such services.

I read the article and I don't think it is NPH because he started and had huge success as leading man or kid, in Doggie Houser, this guy gave up the leading man idea and found success as a character actor, it wasn't someone who switched from lead to character, he never was lead.
