Re: Jack's confession to his mother, this is actually something that bugged me about the show because I thought Seb was kind of wasted there. His relationship with the secret boyfriend was far too underdeveloped for the scene to have the impact it could have achieved had the story actually allowed it. I mean he acted his little heart out, so of course he was convincing enough. But we never saw much of them together for it to really ring true and had to just take his word for it. All the talk about him being 'the only real thing he ever touched', how this guy saw The Real Jack... but who the hell was that really, y'know? I think the blackout episode would have been the best time to have explored that. But of course that wouldn't have fit with what they were trying to accomplish plotwise in that particular episode, so again, the story didn't really allow for it. It's unfortunate that an opportunity for furthering the development of the show's more interesting character had to be sidelined so David could take fucking nudies of Jack's sister.

And I definitely blame the never ending runaround that was the David/Michelle romance for dragging the rest of the show down. I think poor writing in general was it's biggest weakness.
