Stephen Collins -- who played the pastor/dad on "7th Heaven" -- confessed to his estranged wife he was a child molester, and it's all on tape ... a tape obtained by TMZ. And the New York Police Dept. is now conducting an active criminal investigation involving sexual contact with multiple children.
Collins -- who is in the middle of a nasty, prolonged divorce with actress Faye Grant -- revealed to her in 2012 he had molested and/or exposed himself to several underage girls years before. Collins and Grant went to a therapist where she peppered him with questions about the incidents ... and he not only answered, he was specific.
Here's what Collins didn't know at the time. Grant taped the therapy session. We're told her lawyer advised her it was legal to secretly record the conversation because in California you're allowed to secretly record conversations to gather evidence the other person committed a violent felony ... and molesting a child under the age of 14 qualifies.
We have protected the names of the victims Collins mentions on tape. As you listen ... you will hear Collins refer to a "disclosure" and a "list." This refers to a confession Collins had already made to his wife ... which triggered the therapy session.
You hear Collins flatly confess to molesting an 11-year-old New York girl -- a relative of his first wife -- saying, "There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis." He also acknowledges exposing himself to the girl "a couple of times" ... he says when she was 11, 12 and 13.
Grant asks, "When you exposed yourself ... did you have an erection?" He responds, "No, I mean, no. Partial, maybe I think."
Grant then inquires about other girls. Collins mentions an L.A. girl who lived in their neighborhood, but says he tried righting the wrong by apologizing to her years later.
And then they talk about yet another girl. It's incredible ... Collins has trouble keeping the girls straight, but then he gets clear and confirms the incident. We're told this girl was also from New York and was between 12 and 13 at the time.
TMZ has learned ... the NYPD is in possession of the tape, and last Wednesday 2 NYPD detectives from the Special Victims Unit flew to L.A. to interview Grant. We're told they asked her about the tape and about other potential witnesses.
An NYPD official tells TMZ ... there is a current, active investigation. The official says there are "at least 3 victims" and the nature of the investigation is "inappropriate sexual contact with minors."
Law enforcement sources tell us ... one alleged victim in the investigation is the relative of Collins' first wife, who we're told first reported the molestation in 2012. One law enforcement source tells us ... although decades have passed since the molestation, they believe the case can still be prosecuted because the statute of limitations runs from the date of reporting.
Collins -- who is on the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild -- frequently interacts with young actresses. In addition to "7th Heaven," he was also on the ABC Family show "The Fosters," about a bunch of young kids being raised in a foster family. And he had a role in the recent show, "Revolution" ... which also had underage actors.
We contacted Collins' reps ... they had no comment.

It's estimated that 1 and 10 men are pedophiles. While most of those men don't act on their urges, you'd be shocked to discover who in your own life struggles to hide their true nature on a daily basis. In my case, a brother-in-law who everyone loved turned out to be sexually abusing my two young nieces (6 and 9). I just remember being shocked that a clean cut Marine could be capable of doing something so reprehensible...but it opened my eyes to the fact that most pedophiles aren't creepy fat guys who drive vans.
Although I have issues with a therapy session being recorded and released to the public, but at least now his victims can see their abuser brought to justice (even if most of the trial will take place in the court of public opinion).

It's now in the Business Insider:
OCT. 7, 2014
NYPD Investigating Reported Child Molestation Charges Against '7th Heaven' Actor
The New York Police Department is reportedly investigating Stephen Collins for child molestation after the actor, best known as the father on "7th Heaven," allegedly confessed on a secret recording to molesting three girls, TMZ reports.
The NYPD confirmed to TMZ that it was looking into at least three possible victims.
TMZ obtained the tape, which the gossip website says is from a therapy session with Collins and his estranged wife, actress Faye Grant. Sources told TMZ that Grant's lawyer advised her to record the conversation.
On the tape, which TMZ posted on its website, Collins admits to having sexual contact with three minors over several years. He admitted to inappropriate touching with one girl and exposing himself to others. Grant and Collins are in the process of getting a divorce.
One girl lived in Collins' neighborhood in Los Angeles, and another girl from New York was a relative of his first wife.
The NYPD has interviewed Grant and is reportedly in possession of the tape, according to TMZ. The relative of Collins' first wife reported the incident in 2012, and the NYPD is reportedly in the midst of an active investigation into the charges.
When Collins and Grant announced in 2012 that they were getting divorced, Grant told E! News: "Stephen's filing for divorce is a surprise. I am devastated. I wish him the very best in whatever path he chooses to take. Twenty-seven years of marriage in Hollywood is the equivalent of 189 dog years. I was exhausted." The couple got married in 1985.
Collins' is best known for his role as a pastor and father on the family TV drama "7th Heaven." He played a Christian father to seven children. Since the show ended, he has taken other TV and movie roles.
7th Heaven Actor Stephen Collins Being Investigated for Child Molestation: Report
10/07/2014 AT 10:50 AM
Stephen Collins, the actor who played the pastor Eric Camden on 7th Heaven, is being investigated by police after allegedly confessing to child molestation, according to multiple news reports.
Collins, 67, made the alleged confession during a 2012 therapy session that his wife, the actress Faye Grant, secretly tape-recorded. A version of that recording, edited to protect the identity of the victims, was posted to TMZ.com.
The investigation into "inappropriate sexual contact with minors" involves at least three victims, police believe, including one who is a relative of his first wife, Marjorie Weinman.
On the tape, Collins appears to admit to several incidents, and even gives some details of the sexual contact involved. The alleged incidents happened years ago, but authorities believe they may still have a case for prosecution.
Grant filed for divorce from Collins in 2012.

by Anonymous | reply 114 | October 7, 2014 4:07 PM |
I always thought there was something wrong with him. He could have had a successful film career but opted to play theatre and TV instead. A lot of stars who are thrusted into the spotlight and opt to fade away voluntarily often have some sort of 'defect' which they want to keep doing without the glare of fame. They want to remain under the radar but still work in the industry. I guess my gut feeling was right.
It wouldn't surprise me if he has done more than he told the wife and therapist.
I was about to comment that abusers tend to minimize the level of abuse perpetrated, like alcoholics say they drink less than they do and domestic batterers minimize the violence.
That he was as forthcoming as he was suggests that he was cornered with some type of evidence. Maybe his ex-wife talked to Faye? Or were there rumors in the industry? Who knows.

"his word against theirs"
So? People are more likely to believe "he said/she said" evidence when there are multiple victims. There could be other evidence as well that might emerge.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | October 7, 2014 4:16 PM |
R117 but if the tape suppressed, all the the other evidence would be suppressed because it comes from the poisoned fruit. That being the tape.

r118, that's not how it works. Even if the tape is suppressed it wouldn't stop people from coming forward - apparently someone already has.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | October 7, 2014 4:25 PM |
R119 is that person mentioned on the tape? If so that is poisoned fruit.
If not her word against his, and if the tape is suppressed it won't be introduced as evidence. As it would taint the jury.

It looks pretty simple:
Law enforcement sources tell us ... one alleged victim in the investigation is the relative of Collins' first wife, who we're told first reported the molestation in 2012.
One would assume the victim came forward, Grant learned of it from law enforcement and decided to do what she could to help the authorities when she realized it was true. The year the victim came forward is the year Grant left Collins after almost 30 years of marriage.

The language in the TMZ article is (unsurprisingly) fuzzy, so it could turn out that the victim came forward to her own family first, which caused Collins to discuss the issue in therapy, and then she spoke to police months or years later.
It seems like a lot happened in 2012. That it has taken this long to emerge isn't completely shocking: maybe the victim was afraid to go public, maybe Grant didn't want a tabloid kerfuffle since she has a daughter with Collins.
They've been squabbling over financial matters since divorcing. Maybe Grant pushed to get more money last year because she knew potential lawsuits would erode his wealth. There are a lot of questions here the tabloids will have a field day addressing.

The LAPD is reviewing the tape AGAIN to see if it missed something? Who bought them off?
TMZ has learned ... the LAPD actually launched an investigation into allegations of molestation involving Stephen Collins in November, 2012 and then closed it ... and now we're told the department is "revisiting" the investigation after we posted our story ... to determine if they missed anything.
An LAPD official tells us ... they received the audiotape posted on TMZ Tuesday morning back in 2012 and conducted a formal investigation. We're told there was "no verified victim," insinuating the probe was triggered by a tip.
As TMZ reported ... one of the victims is a relative of a neighbor in the L.A. area. As you hear in the audio, Collins confesses that one of the victims is the niece of an L.A. neighbor.
The LAPD official tells us ... they are now collaborating with the New York PD and are "re-listening" to the tape to see if they "missed anything."

Since then the burden of proof for these type of cases are much more higher in a court of law.

Which means they have nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | October 7, 2014 6:28 PM |

r167, you do not need a "bulletproof" case to charge someone with child abuse, if by bulletproof you mean tons of supporting evidence. Sometimes prosecutors will bring a case to trial solely based on the word of the victim, without much supporting evidence, if the victim is very credible.
Again, your "they have nothing" comments assumes that all the evidence they have was gathered as the result of the tape. That is not necessarily true. You do not know what evidence they have against him.

R167, The McMatin case was different as it was a classic "satanic panic" scenario. It started when a schizophrenic mother accused a male teacher of stabbing her son in the eye with a fork. She later accused him of being a Satanist. She then quickly died and was seemingly forgot. People weren't aware that she was mentally ill and took her insane accusations and ran with it. Parents grilled their children the wrong way and actually instilled within them the believe that they were sexually molested in satanic rituals. The children's stories were so absurdly bizarre that supporters censored most of them for fear that the public would not support them if they knew the full extend of the accusations. Some of the accusations included: teachers being able to fly, either by their own satanic power or with the aid of a hot air balloon, that students were flushed down toilettes into a secret room underneath the school where the satanic rituals and abuse took place, that strange animals one would see in a zoo where sacrificed, and that the children were forced to eat each shit and drink blood and piss.
During the course of the investigation they did discover the carcass of a sea turtle. However, analysis of the carcass indicated it was planted specifically on the site to lead credence to the children's accusations. There was also a "space" found underneath the school. Supporters claimed it was a room but to the unbiased it was just a hollow. It was later revealed the school was built on top of a trash dump.
All of the accused had their lives destroyed by false accusations. They sued and were only awarded $1 in compensation. If that wasn't a major slap in the face I don't know what is. It's obvious they were innocent and were the victims of fucking insane Christians.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | October 7, 2014 6:43 PM |

"Are One In Ten Men Sexually Attracted To Children?"
So say Colorado-based researchers Sandy K. Wurtele and collegues in a new paper in the journal Sexual Abuse:
Nearly 10% of males and 4% of females reported some likelihood of having sex with children or viewing child pornography.
The study is an interesting attempt to probe the darkest depths of human nature, and raises questions about self-awareness.
Wurtele et al recruited 435 participants who completed a fully anonymous online survey. They were either undergraduate psychology students or came via Amazon’s MTurk (handy for research).
The lucky volunteers got to answer a range of questions about their sexuality and childhood experiences, and were then asked to rate their agreement with three statements:
I am sexually attracted to little children; I fantasize about having sex with a child; I masturbate to fantasies about having sex with a child
Here, 4% of men gave some degree of endorsement to each question (see below).
Other items asked how likely participants would be to commit various crimes “if you were sure that no one would know and that you would not get caught or be punished.”
40% of men said that they might rob a bank For buying sex, 34%; for sexual assault of an adult, the percentage who might was 16%; 13% for murder, 9% for viewing child pornography, 6% for actually having sex with a child and 5% for zoophilia.
For women, all of these rates were lower. Still, 2% of females said they might engage in child sex.
Rather worrying. But it turns out that these percentages are the result of a “you’re either with us, or you’re with the terrorists” approach to psychometrics.
The authors classed people as ‘endorsing’ or ‘admitting an interest’ in a particular behaviour if they gave any answer other than “Strongly Disagree” on a 6-point scale. That is, those who said they moderately disagreed were lumped with those (if there were any) who “Strongly Agreed” and all the other answers from the 5 options above absolute zero.
I’m not sure that makes sense.
The selection of the sample is also a concern; the authors note that the title of the study (“Sexual Experiences and Attitudes”) may have attracted a certain kind of person.
The authors acknowledge four limitations, but don’t address the biggest one – the fact that the survey is entirely self report. The questions assume that people can accurately introspect and to predict their own future behaviour, yet this is far from assured.
For example, if you ask people whether they would ever electrocute someone with 450 volts as part of a psychology experiment, they would say: never; I’m not that kind of person. But about 65% people put into that situation do, in fact, do that as Stanley Milgram showed.
Yet if we can be so wrong about whether we’d torture someone, can we trust our own beliefs as to whether we’d ever rob a bank – or have sex with a child?
And half a dozen expert witnesses later who knows what a jury will think of a tape that may or may not be doctored.
Except, he has yet to allege that it's been doctored. If it had been me and the tape was fake, that would be the first statement I made once the news started breaking. He doesn't seem to be denying the authenticity of the tapes.
Also, who exactly leaked the tape - the ex-wife or the doctor? It's not clear to me how TMZ got the tapes - not that it matters, just curious.
What is wrong with people. I realize there is no correlation, but an extremely handsome and relatively wealthy man like Collins (even in his 50s or 60s) could find a nice young twenty-something willing to do whatever.
While there is no excuse, they really need to study this and get a better understanding about both the impulse and lack of impulse control associated with this behavior - without all the hype or hysteria.

I read elsewhere that one of the victims told Faye that Collins had done this to her, and Faye didn't believe her at the time. Since he made these confessions, she has contacted the victim to apologize for not believing her.
Also I read that the husband of a victim (now an adult, since as has been stated, this conveniently happened over ten years ago, according to Collins) berated Faye for not reporting him.
If true, perhaps these incidents prompted her suspicions.

I just reported this filth on the One Million Moms website. Oh, I hope they do snap to action and now have to boycott the show that they probably grew up humping their pillows while watching.
The guy who played the father on 7th Heaven is a confessed child molester. He molested 3 young girls, none older than 13 at the time. On this show he plays a man who is shown as the trustworthy father figure and is is often alone with young children in scenes on that show. In those scenes he speaks gently and lovingly to them in order to gain their trust. This television show provides a confessed child molester with a platform to train pedophiles how to gain the trust of young children. How to speak to them in order to gain their trust. How to get them used to the feeling of his touch, so he can later cross the line while being seen as a trusted authority figure. He is also teaching children to respect and honor the authority of the seemingly kind-hearted father figure who later drops his towel by "accident" and gently puts their small hands places they simply never should be placed. This is a horrible, awful show that must never air again. I only hope it's not too late. I mean, no one actually watched that piece of shit show... did they?

The divorce papers are out! Faye Grant and Stephen Collins’ divorce papers surfaced on Oct. 7, following the release of audio where the ‘7th Heaven’ actor allegedly admits to molesting underage girls. In the papers, Faye reveals how ‘disgusted’ she was after her husband ‘admitted that he had sexually molested three underage girls.’
Actress Faye Grant, 57, recorded her husband Stephen Collins, 67, in 2012 during a therapy session admitting to molesting multiple underage girls. However, now that the audio has leaked, both NYPD and LAPD are investigating, and Faye has spoken out in an official statement, as well as legal documents.
Stephen Collin’s Confession On January 19, 2012, just a month after Faye and Stephen separated following 27 years of marriage, she learned he “had been living a secret life,” the papers obtained by TMZ state.
“In the presence of his therapist, Stephen admitted that he has engaged in a long term pattern of sexually abusing minor children, including sexually molesting three young girls over a decade ago,” she wrote. “Stephen’s therapist subsequently disclosed to me that Stephen has narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies. I believe that Stephen used his celebrity status to engender the trust of the families of the children he molested. I further believe that there have been other victims, but he has thus far only confessed to those three girls.”
She went on to admit that the husband of one of Stephen’s victims called her and berated her for not going to the police. After his admission, she reported the acts to both LA County police and NYPD/ She believes all victims are now over the age of 26, and were from the ages of 10-14 when the incidents occurred.
Stephen’s Wife Speaks Out “I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press,” Faye told E! News. “I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media.”
This comes just hours after TMZ released the audio tape where a man (believed to be Stephen) reveals a string of incidents to his wife at the time and therapist in 2012. In the audio recording, which the 7th Heaven actor was unaware of, he confesses to inappropriate behavior with multiple underage girls — from the ages of 11, 12, and 13.
It is legal in California to secretly record conversations in an effort to gather evidence if the person is believed to have committed a felony.
[italic] Odd then, that in May of 2012 she said this when he filed for divorce from her: "Stephen's filing for divorce is a surprise. I am devastated," she tells E! News. "I wish him the very best in whatever path he chooses to take. Twenty-seven years of marriage in Hollywood is the equivalent of 189 dog years. I was exhausted." [/italic]

How often have we heard about abusers having been horribly abused themselves in childhood? Yes, 325, it is, but I think penetrating a child's vagina with your finger or penis is even worse and is probably more traumatizing and painful.
I don't condone child molesting, but I think at some point, society has to recognize that there are different degrees of damage and different degrees of evil. As disgusting as what Stephen Collins did, he's a saint compared to my mother's stepfather.
I don't think what Stephen Collins did is something he deserves to have the rest of his life destroyed over or what he should be remembered for in the long run. Should he be publicly humiliated? Should he do some jail time? Yes, I believe so.
But the more we recognize the different degrees of harm from an act, the more safe we can make potential pedophiles feel about coming out of the closet and talk about their problems, and perhaps prevent abusive acts against children from happening.

But R329, as R327 says, there may be additional offenses that we don't know about. These are only the ones that he admitted to in the therapist's office on the audio tape.
There could be others he has kept hidden so far.

R329 No one gives a fuck about your mother's stepfather. Molestation is molestation. Ask his victims if Collins deserves a career. You don't even know if the ones we know about are the only ones. Go to some pedophilia forum to spout your bullshit because you don't belong here.
What's amazing is that one of the 3 girls he admits to abusing is a relative of his first wife, Marjorie Weinman.
I guess you don't know how pedos operate, they usually abuse those closest to them. Nieces and nephews are very convenient to these pervs.
There was a pedo in my family, a relative through marriage, he sexually abused a young boy his wife babysat as well as a few nieces. He was obsessed with sex, he might have even fucked his dog, his urge to be sexual wasn't just towards children. He was beyond creepy.
He also once grabbed my elderly grandmother by the breast, I was very young at the time, but I remember my grandfather seeing what he did. My grandfather beat him to a pulp. The problem was, years ago, there were no sex offender laws in place. This bastard died without being prosecuted. We did not know at the time he was abusing his two nieces, but there was a rumor about the boy his wife babysat, because the kid no longer wanted to go there any longer. She would run out to do errands and he was alone with the boy.
I know a woman whose brother-in-law was sexually abusing his three sons! The wife caught him one night in one of the son's bedrooms. She filed for divorce immediately.
In this situation, the wife was a stay-at-home wife who gave up her job to take care of her small sons, the pedo was a successful businessman. I think you know the rest, she didn't press charges because he threatened there would be no money to support his sons until they were out of college, not if he was in jail. He basically got away with it because the wife and sons needed his money.

R329, you're accepting his version of the events as fact. IMHO that's unlikely to be true, if that's what he was willing to tell his wife during therapy, the truth was probably far worse.
I also wonder why the hell you want to be so nice to pedophiles, and encourage them to come out and talk about it. Fuck that - therapy doesn't cure pedophilia, and letting them talk would only encourage them to act like a persecuted minority. No, if they ever touch a child, throw them in prison and cut off their dicks.

The people who are saying Collins was very nice and beloved and they're shocked about this news don't surprise me. It seems pretty common that predators will develop a popular social persona.
Our high school band teacher was a serial molester -- he ended up having to marry the 16-year-old student he knocked up after diddling her since she was 11 -- but he is still, to this day, beloved. Professional former A-list bands recruit him for modern recordings, colleagues talk about how ultra cool this guy is, his Facebook is full of former students falling over themselves to suck up to him.
Meanwhile, the boys and girls he groped (and worse) are all conspicuously absent from this lovefest. None have come out and named him, for obvious reasons.
Collins is famous and firmly B list, so I can't imagine how tough it would be to come out as one of HIS victims.
by Anonymous | reply 349 | October 8, 2014 7:50 AM |
Per the divorce papers, HIS therapist told Faye Grant that he has a "narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies," which explains the charming, nice guy exterior. People who work with him on the set or who are not part of his personal life are not likely to see these qualities.
I noted above that the Daily Mail is reporting that he reveal the abuse to Grant in a written confession. (Yes, I know it's the DM.) But if his disclosure is true, her presence at his therapy session makes me wonder if he was trying to salvage the marriage. It had to come at his invitation. It is awfully narcissistic to think this...
Now, the quibble I have is the therapist disclosing this to Grant unless Collins signed a release of information.

Looks like Collins has finally responded through his lawyer:
My Wife Peddled Tape to Squeeze Money Out of Me
Stephen Collins' lawyer is putting his client's estranged wife Faye Grant on blast, claiming she has been trying to use the audiotape for years to extort money out of the actor.
Collins' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, tells TMZ, "Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled."
Kaplan goes on, "When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted -- without success -- to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape -- not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled."
Kaplan then says he'd like to address the audio confession but can't, saying, "Though we would like to address the tape itself, the circumstances dictate that we must regrettably refrain from doing so at this time."
And a source close to Collins says the incidents on the audiotape occurred between 20 and 40 years ago.

Stephen Collins‘ lawyer is breaking his silence following the release of an audio tape in which his client confesses to allegedly molesting children.
The lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, says that Stephen‘s estranged wife Faye Grant has tried to use the tape in the past to extort money out of him.
“Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled,” Mark said in a statement to TMZ.
“When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted — without success — to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape — not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled,” he added. “Though we would like to address the tape itself, the circumstances dictate that we must regrettably refrain from doing so at this time.”
Police were called to Stephen‘s home on Tuesday evening after false reports of a single gunshot and suicide attempt were reported.

The thing is, while it may be true that his wife is trying to extort money out of him, it doesn't change the fact that he's on tape admitting to sexually abusing girls.
by Anonymous | reply 354 | October 8, 2014 8:47 AM |
Riiight. Because it took her years to find a gossip outlet that would take the tapes.
Besides, what good does it to her now that the tapes are released? She has no blackmail material anymore and now he's at risk of losing all his money in civil suits -- he's already lost a lot of income. It doesn't do her any good to release these tapes, and any lawyer would have told her that.

Grant, who is in the middle of divorce proceedings with Collins, makes an extremely disturbing claim about another one of her husband's confessions – this time, involving their own child.
According to TMZ, Grant sent the following email to Collins a year after his taped confession in 2012:
The comment you made just before I gave birth to our daughter when you said you hoped we didn't have a little boy, because 'you just didn't know if you could keep his little penis out of your mouth' was indication enough that you were sick ..."I should have followed my gut then, and then again 14 years ago, and kicked your ass to the curb. However, the site adds that a source close to Collins calls the email and its allegations “absolutely untrue.”

It's not the taping, it's the point of it. She doesn't care he molested anyone. She just wants to use the crime so she can get something on him. If she could have gotten him by him say, stealing a million dollars, that would've been enough.

She immediately gave the tape to law enforcement, for reasons that had nothing to do with their bickering over a divorce settlement. If he'd been arrested and brought up on charges, his fortune would've gone to lawyers and not to her.
Regardless of the personal animosity between the two of them, and her rage at feeling her spousal support was inadequate after she gave up her career for their marriage, she clearly cared about the fact that he was an admitted criminal more than she cared about cash.

Not to mention one of his victims reached out to her years ago, at which time Collins made excuses to Grant that she apparently accepted. It was only when he finally came clean to Grant that she chose to leave him and go to law enforcement.
I can't claim to understand what makes someone stay with a sick partner, or the tortured rationalizations she must've made to herself to sustain denial for so many years, but the 2012 timeline does indicate that once her worst fears about him were confirmed Grant didn't hesitate to contact the police, even knowing that it might destroy him financially.

Pretty much everyone lets such an off the wall comment slide. On the first date of course it's a deal breaker. 9 month pregnant very few will run because of one weird comment. Most will just ponder it a bit, some will raise a stink that will end with the guy explaining how it was just a tasteless joke and he's sorry and no break up. Maybe 1 in 1000 would actually waddle out of the likely newly purchased home with the already prepared nursery, telling everyone how their marriage failed because he made that really off the wall comment...

I don't think Grant is at fault for his molestation at all.
She recieved an anonymous letter years ago, which caused her to question her [italic]husband[/italic] - her life partner and father of her children.
Of course he's not going to just come clean with her. He probably hedged and withheld info.
They were in therapy, people -- she was looking to repair their relationship because she was bothered by the anon letter and his bullshit lies.
So he confessed "the truth" in therapy thinking that would somehow "heal" the relationship...but...well, child molestation is a boner killer. She probably was sexually repulsed by him after his confession.
She recorded it because nobody would believe her. He's rich and famous...they usually skate without evidence. Like someone mentioned, just look at Woody Allen and Mia Farrow. Had she had a confession on tape, then that would be the end of the speculation. But Grant does have it on tape, and yet she's sill being blamed as a scorned woman here.
I listened to the confession, and the wife was DEVASTATED and freaked out. I don't think she enabled him AT ALL.

Uh, where's the evidence that she withheld anything? You want to believe the worst about her because she's female. There is no evidence that she is the one who leaked the tape, either.
by Anonymous | reply 417 | October 8, 2014 5:36 PM |
R417, The tapes were turned over to the cops two years ago. She could have gone public then but didn't. She wanted the cash. He's still a monster but she's a greedy cunt that only cares about getting his money.

I feel so sorry for this man. This happened a while ago and he is a human being. This disgusting woman is just looking for a payday it's so obvious. She's ruined his career and his life. Hasn't she done enough? Now she had to release questionable emails to further drag his name through the mud? I hope she gets zip.

Chilling to think r416 might not be a troll... Leave the poor child molester alone! Fry his wife because she married a child molester and then turned against him! Wow.
by Anonymous | reply 420 | October 8, 2014 5:42 PM |
Shit, this thread is taken over by pedos.
by Anonymous | reply 421 | October 8, 2014 5:45 PM |
Ignore the obvious trolls. Anyone expressed sympathy for this man or anger towards his wife is obviously trolling and trying to provoke. Ignore them.
by Anonymous | reply 422 | October 8, 2014 5:49 PM |
It's not being a pedo to see gold diggers for what they are. Collins does not deserve what this horrible woman has unleashed on him.
by Anonymous | reply 423 | October 8, 2014 5:55 PM |
R422 can't handle that not everyone feels that Collins is the bad guy here.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | October 8, 2014 5:58 PM |
R375/R419/R423/R424, tell me a thread you've posted on before today. If you're not a troll, trolldar will show you on other threads being sane.
by Anonymous | reply 425 | October 8, 2014 6:07 PM |
r416, you are the biggest moron around. SC ADMITTED THE MOLESTATION, and was tape-recorded doing so.
How's THAT for GUILTY?
by Anonymous | reply 426 | October 8, 2014 6:08 PM |
R422, He's a monster. But so is his wife. She sat on it for 2 years. Why are you giving her a pass? How many kids did he molest in that time period all because she refused to go public.
by Anonymous | reply 427 | October 8, 2014 6:09 PM |
Faye Grant said the 'baby boy' email is fake.I believe it.If he couldn't get away of little boys penis, why did he abused little girls?
by Anonymous | reply 428 | October 8, 2014 6:10 PM |
IGNORE THE TROLL
by Anonymous | reply 429 | October 8, 2014 6:14 PM |
R425, you are the troll for refusing to believe that not everyone shares your opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | October 8, 2014 6:14 PM |
Agree with r430. People like r425 are ruining DL.
Stop telling people what comments are and are not acceptable.
by Anonymous | reply 431 | October 8, 2014 6:17 PM |
r416 is totally projecting.
Snap out of it!
by Anonymous | reply 432 | October 8, 2014 6:20 PM |
I have a question to lawyers. Can his wife and shrink be summoned as witnesses to a confession/s? Is that hearsay or not?
by Anonymous | reply 433 | October 8, 2014 6:22 PM |
Since woman hating is the norm for the DL, I'm not surprised at fucktards like R430.
by Anonymous | reply 434 | October 8, 2014 6:23 PM |
As a young boy, I would have broken my piggy bank and PAID Stephen Collins to let me touch his dick.

So I'm trying to decide if freepers have discovered this thread and are trying to implicate Datalounge as a misogynistic pedo-loving site? They're probably posting links to this thread as I type. You want to get it closed down?
You do know that the dumb fuck freepers really do think we like and approve of pedophilia and they want to shout it to the world. If you're not freeping trolls, then, well, I'd say the trolls are self-hating cunts (no "f" word from me).

I wonder what's up with this guy. Will he be on the 7th Heaven reboot? He is white, so he will be forgiven.
by Anonymous | reply 437 | November 19, 2018 10:30 PM |
I’ll always love him - sorry, but even when I was underage I would have never refused him
by Anonymous | reply 438 | June 22, 2019 12:03 AM |
Gross.

There's no way. And is anyone asking for a reboot?? I know that there was supposed to be a spin-off back in the day, but the actor turned it down.

He will eat a gun.
by Anonymous | reply 441 | June 22, 2019 9:14 AM |
R437 Eh I don't think that will happen in this case. I think if he were accused of sexually abusing adult men or women he would be given a partial pass because he's an attractive wasp guy. But kids? He's done for career wise. So strange that he was famous for this wholesome family friendly image . Who would have guessed?

He is??

Certainly not Bill Cosby.

Zero legal consequences right?
by Anonymous | reply 445 | June 22, 2019 10:46 AM |
WEHT? Is he still alive or did he off himself like Mark Salling from Glee?

Pretty sure we would've heard something if he'd killed himself.

So what is surprising me is that I was not at all surprised by this headline. I've read this on datalounge multiple times over the years that Collins was a pedo. It's been brought up in multiple gossip threads. Not one post out of 400 seems to remember this.
