Has he ever said?
So what was Barry Diller's side of the Joan/Edgar feud?

I think being Phyllis's husband he'd have supported Joan the fellow-ette comic.

Why would Joan feud with her husband?

Because he pushed her to do a talk show which failed spectacularly and ended her friendship with Johnny Carson permanently. Joan was hell on wheels and drove Edgar to....

What was Edgar before he met Joan? He should have had his own career -- he'd be alive today, maybe.

He was a TV and film producer. He met Joan when he hired her to help him re-write a script.

Edgar Rosenberg was a sick man. He had heart bypass surgery following a massive heart attack Even though the surgery saved his life he was never again a healthy man, Every few weeks he would be admitted to a hospital for some problem or another. When he realized that he would never recover fully he chose to kill himself. He lived his life on his own terms.

He was also very bad with money and left Joan with massive debt.

Oh so she said. She was a crazy spending nut and she blew the Fox deal by refusing to kick her horrible husband off the show and her cash flow halted and the bills came due.
But Joan became an expert at creating "I'm a survivor" stories so the gays would flock to her with even greater loyalty.

Joan was a bogus fag hag. Worst than that she was a card carrying Republican.

She was doing more for gay men who were dying of AIDS before Reagan or even Liz Taylor said or did anything about it. If Rock Hudson had been one of the first to die, maybe then they would have done something sooner.

R10 she was not that altruistic. She was hurting financially and hooked up to the AIDS cause to align herself with influential gay men to get her career rolling again.

So the contract was 15 mil for five years - when she was fired how much did she get paid out?

Stop talking about Joan rivers . No one under 55 cares about her. Only reason she led newscasts on her death was that all evening news viewers are 60 plus

He hated that fag Edgar.

Edgar was a miserable businessman as well. He sold Joan's name.. in perpetuity I believe. She worked like crazy to buy the name back.

It was pretty much Edgar's fault her show on Fox halted. Every producer and exec thought he was a controlling asshole and refused to work with him. Ultimately cost Joan the deal.

Edgar was British. He was like Lane Pryce on "Mad Men": doomed in America.

Three years later and no one has answered the OP's question...

But the syndicated talk show after he died ran four years. Explain that.
