Tina Belcher was just voted Entertainment Weekly's #1 best character on television.
Gene is a total mo. He already announced that he was a top.

It just won an Emmy for Best Animated Program last week.

John Roberts as Linda is hilarious. His "My son is gay..." youtube that showed how mothers come around from being upset to "Hey, my son is gay, watch it!" is hilarious.
The show also has a pretty big guest cast, including Megan Mullally, who's on frequently.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 23, 2014 7:34 AM |
Roberts also did this one before Bob's about how his Mom would react at the Emmys....
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 23, 2014 7:36 AM |
But the title is so....distracting.

I really enjoy NOT watching this lousy show.
Will be glad when it's canceled, just as I was when The Cleveland Show was canceled.
I'd rather have Robot Chicken move to prime time.

I didn't like it at first but it's become my favorite Sunday night animated show. r5, don't be a boob punch. Give it another chance.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 23, 2014 8:16 AM |
H. Jon Benjamin hits gay piano bars with best friend John Roberts. They're hilarious together. Benjamin's not gay, which makes it even funnier.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 24, 2014 11:03 PM |
r5 did you actually ever see it?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 24, 2014 11:04 PM |
I'm not actively championing its cancellation like R5, but I tried watching it and was very disappointed. So many people had said it was hilarious and it was just dull. If you've seen "Home Movies" or even "Metalocalypse" you've seen "Bob's Burgers."
All the jokes were the desperate-to-be-edgy kind of stuff. Ooh, someone's gay! Ooh, molestation jokes! Ooh, necrophilia jokes! Boring.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 24, 2014 11:13 PM |
I will watch anything H. John Benjamin is in.
But this show is great regardless. My favorite animated show on TV now, except for maybe "Venture Brothers".
It's anything but boring. It's got great characters, great writing, great voice acting... it's awesome.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 24, 2014 11:24 PM |
I love it used to watch on occasion now I don't miss it and record it on DVD...
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 24, 2014 11:27 PM |
Tina is awesome. Gene is hilarious. Louise is a fantastic comedic invention voiced by one of my favorites, Kristen Schaal. She's awesome... fell in love with her on "Flight of the Conchords".
The mom is great, but in smaller doses.
Love the landlord guy (in all white), he's brilliantly portrayed.

I fucking love this show. Those characters, all instant classics.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 24, 2014 11:48 PM |
I tried to get into it, but I found myself more annoyed than amused. Too much of those annoying voices screaming at each other.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 24, 2014 11:50 PM |
I hate this show sooooo much, hate this and home movies. This shit ruins adult swim for me, well this and Cleveland show.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 24, 2014 11:53 PM |
R5 and R15 I use to agree with you. But they both grew on me especially "Bob's Brothers". Love Linda and Tina, and Gene.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 24, 2014 11:57 PM |
The voices ARE annoying, R14. I love H Jon Benjamin but this trend of having men voice female characters just grates on my ears.
If it's done well like on Venture Bros. or the nun on Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, it's fine, but yeah, Bob's Burgers is just shrill.

I'm another who didn't like it the first time I watched it. But I caught a second once sort of by accident, and by the time I watched a third, I was weirdly hooked. It's a hard show to get into, but once you're there, it's crazily addictive. Best thing on Sundays at the moment. (Sorry MASTERS OF SEX and LEFTOVERS!)

Home Movies was awesome, especially once they got rid of 'squiggle-vision'. In that show, Jason was one of the most brilliant comic inventions .... and voiced by John H Benjamin again.

"Guess who's back on her meds!"
Megan Mullally does the voice of the crazy aunt.
To Bob: "Are you gay?"
Kids: "We wish."

Discovered BB's a month ago, and have been getting square eyeballs getting caught up with the videos on YouTube. Love the wicked humor, the celebrity voices(it's fun guessing who) and even the weird "Daily Special Burger." Louise is my fave, with Gene a close second.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 5, 2014 10:01 AM |
Tina's my favorite.

R29 the burger specials crack me up. "The child molester-- comes with candy!"
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 5, 2014 12:36 PM |
R5 sounds like a snoregasm.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 5, 2014 1:30 PM |
Seriously, the show blows.
I cannot believe you people like it.
The animation style is off-putting. The characters are screechy, idiotic, and unbelievable. The premise is sketchy at best. There is never any reason for characters to be doing what they're doing.
There's not even an allegorical element to save it. No warm feeling, no bad feeling, no lesson learned. Nothing.
Which of course the show wouldn't need any of these things if it was funny .. but it is not.
Just all around bad. Long for the day when it is axed from the schedule. Then you folks can buy the the retrospective DVD and burger out.

jeez R33, Don't have a crap attack.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 5, 2014 1:53 PM |
You're an idiot with absolutely no sense of humor, R33. The show is awesome. Smart, insightful, hilarious, and fun.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 5, 2014 2:03 PM |
Never trust anyone who sounds like a commercial.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 5, 2014 2:13 PM |
Anyone who doesn't like the show needs to watch the episode where Gene goes to baseball camp and Tina is addicted to espresso.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 5, 2014 2:22 PM |
Sometimes it's kind of gross, but it's such a surprising show. The voices are so perfect for the characters. I love when Linda sings her little made up songs.

I am surprised there is no uproar that all the female voices except louise are done (badly) by men.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | December 24, 2018 10:33 PM |
I agree 100% with r33.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | December 24, 2018 10:39 PM |
