Matt Bomer TAKEN ABACK when asked what it's like being in bed with Mark Ruffalo

He was on the red carpet at the premiere of The Normal Heart.

He seemed very stiff in these interviews.

He says he is not a gay icon, and just tried to be true in his life with his husband and family and just live his life

I'd love to know, I'm infatuated with MR

by Anonymousreply 1May 29, 2014 12:46 AM

But ya ARE, Blanche!

by Anonymousreply 2May 29, 2014 1:00 AM

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 3May 29, 2014 1:01 AM

He has ZERO sense of humor. I know this is a serious piece but he seemed so stiff and humorless.

Now I can see why some would say he is an abused husband.

The good looking ones always are.

by Anonymousreply 4May 29, 2014 1:04 AM

I'd be very stiff if I were in bed with Mark Ruffalo.

by Anonymousreply 5May 29, 2014 1:17 AM

OP He always is like that, that's how the Aspergers rumors started

by Anonymousreply 6May 29, 2014 1:19 AM

Mmm, Mark Ruffalo. I love his dark, curly hair...

by Anonymousreply 7May 29, 2014 1:21 AM
He says he is not a gay icon, and just tried to be true in his life with his husband and family and just live his life

Said the man who ordered a baby and then pretended he was not its father

by Anonymousreply 8May 29, 2014 1:21 AM

The interviewer was an idiot.

Gay and Lesbian newspaper? Yeah, right.

by Anonymousreply 9May 29, 2014 1:25 AM

I agree; the interviewer was an idiot.

Bomer was being kind to this novice.

by Anonymousreply 10May 29, 2014 1:30 AM

He was even saying to the kid at the end: 'try to grow up' it seemed.

by Anonymousreply 11May 29, 2014 1:31 AM

I love Mark Ruffalo. I used to get my hair done by his brother Scott (a skinny, more hyper version of Mark). I met Mark a few times over the years when he would come in for a haircut/hang out with brother session. What great guys. Scott was murdered by this Iranian girl, a drug dealer. Boy, I miss his smile.

by Anonymousreply 12May 29, 2014 2:38 AM

How'd they get all boys? It seems like the ideal family. I'm afraid to have children. What if we get stuck with a girl? Can you leave them by a river or is that a felony?

by Anonymousreply 13May 29, 2014 2:41 AM

Sorry, but part of being a celebrity is dealing with dumb interviewers. If Matt Bomer wants to be a bigger star he needs to learn how to be more personable and charismatic in interviews. He too often comes across as dull and forced. Lighten up.

by Anonymousreply 14May 29, 2014 3:29 AM

R14 - No it's not.

The kid asked versions of the classic "When did you stop beating your wife" question.

I think Bomer did a great job staying on message.

After all he was talking about his performance in a serious drama. Not a drag show.

by Anonymousreply 15May 29, 2014 3:59 AM

What was wrong with those responses? The questions were amateur and immature.

by Anonymousreply 16May 29, 2014 4:05 AM

The interviewer was obviously trying to get Matt to be 'taken aback' but he failed. Matt was absolutely professional in his responses. Kudos to Matt for not just rolling his eyes and walking away after the first question.

by Anonymousreply 17May 29, 2014 4:06 AM

Come on, the interviewer was just treating Bomer as a gay brother, nothing wrong with that. The questions were bit different but he probably tried to avoid the most common ones. The question about Ruffalo was obviously more joke-y one but Bomer didn't want to play that game. I don't think Bomer was stiff at all, he seemed very professional.

by Anonymousreply 18May 29, 2014 4:43 AM

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 19May 29, 2014 4:46 AM

Maybe Bomer is just a little socially awkward. He kind of frowns at the questions probably because he is a little embarrassed. I remember being taught not to frown like that by a therapist. I used to do it a lot out of awkwardness.

by Anonymousreply 20May 29, 2014 4:51 AM

I think Matt did great. The interviewer is a dick. I mean half of their scenes in bed were when Matt's character was dying from AIDS. Are you really going to ask what was it like to be in bed with someone? It's not a romantic comedy. It was a dumb question and a really dumb question to ask first. Then he followed it up with more stupid questions. So I think Matt did great in not revealing how he really felt about this idiot or walking away.

by Anonymousreply 21May 29, 2014 5:00 AM

So sad that a guy so hot has to have the personality of a fucking rock. I wonder if the fact that his husband is in PR has anything to do with the fact that he's so disingenuous/guarded.

by Anonymousreply 22May 29, 2014 5:06 AM

Halls is kind of bland too.

by Anonymousreply 23May 29, 2014 5:30 AM

anyone else?

by Anonymousreply 24May 29, 2014 12:44 PM

Why would Matt Bomer be a gay icon? I don't understand this at all. Larry Kramer, I get it. Harvey Milk, I totally get it. But Matt Boomer?

by Anonymousreply 25May 29, 2014 12:47 PM

I don't think Larry Kramer and Harvey Milk are gay icons. They are notable gay individuals.

Gay icon is usually used to refer to pop culture camp figures like Cher, Madonna or Tinky Winky.

by Anonymousreply 26May 29, 2014 12:55 PM

He was fine. Some of the questions were stupid. He was not "TAKEN ABACK." I am TAKEN ABACK that some moron started this stupid thread.

by Anonymousreply 27May 29, 2014 1:09 PM

It's probably the same moron who has started countless threads just for the purpose of attacking Matt Bomer and carries on about he denied his own biological kid and has Aspergers.

I know some people think it's a frau, but I think it's a deeply closeted gay man who can't handle seeing successful, out gay men, so he looks for ways to tear them down.

by Anonymousreply 28May 29, 2014 1:33 PM
I know some people think it's a frau, but I think it's a deeply closeted gay man who can't handle seeing successful, out gay men, so he looks for ways to tear them down.

I'm with you, R28. But I'd add "crazed." And "lunatic."

by Anonymousreply 29May 29, 2014 1:41 PM

No, I am the person who criticizes Matt Bomer for ordering a baby and putting him in the closet, and I didn't start this thread.

by Anonymousreply 30May 29, 2014 1:46 PM

R28 I was the one who simply enquired about the Asperger's in another thread. Not the bag of oranges troll, or whoever else you want to lump me in with.

And "tear them down". Man, can we throw the pity parties for rich white men! I doubt Matt Bomer gives a fuck about anything that is posted here (including your constant, rabid defenses). You come across like an ignorant asshole given everything else that happens here to others FAR less fortunate than a Hollywood millionaire. The rich actor victim shit is getting tiresome.

by Anonymousreply 31May 29, 2014 1:52 PM

Apparently it's mixed-race sjws who haven't decided on a gender yet, R28. What a bunch.

by Anonymousreply 32May 29, 2014 2:03 PM

It's not about feeling bad for a rich Hollywood actor. It's about supporting an out gay actor and supporting his career so that Hollywood can see that people will watch an out gay actor on the screen. It's about someone who seems to be intent on making as many people as possible dislike Matt and hoping that he has a shitty career.

by Anonymousreply 33May 29, 2014 2:40 PM

R27 you need glasses

His facial expression when he was asked that question.

You need to watch the video again.

by Anonymousreply 34May 29, 2014 2:47 PM

No, I don't need to do anything, R34. I don't have your ridiculous agenda of bringing down Bomer.

by Anonymousreply 35May 29, 2014 2:50 PM
I don't have your ridiculous agenda of bringing down Bomer.

It is not bringing him down, it is him knowing how to deal with the media.

OMG not only do we have AC defenders, but we have Matt Bomer defenders.

Should of known.

by Anonymousreply 36May 29, 2014 3:01 PM
Should of known.

How to spell.

by Anonymousreply 37May 29, 2014 3:07 PM

What spelling mistakes R37

by Anonymousreply 38May 29, 2014 3:09 PM

R33 no one is making you dislike Matt Bomer. If you choose to dislike him because he ordered a baby and pretended he wasn't his father, that's up to you. I'm just telling you the truth, is all.

If saying he might have Aspergers makes you dislike him, then you're just prejudiced.

by Anonymousreply 39May 29, 2014 3:10 PM

The Bomer fangurls are unhinged lunatics.

R37 That was your last post on this thread. We're done with your stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 40May 29, 2014 3:14 PM

I guess it shouldn't surprise me, R38. It's "should [bold]have[/bold] known," not "should [bold]of[/bold] known."

by Anonymousreply 41May 29, 2014 3:15 PM

You need to follow directions R41.

Bye!

by Anonymousreply 42May 29, 2014 3:22 PM
How to spell.

R41 so now you are talking about grammar? Before it was spelling. Last time I checked spelling and grammar are two separate things.

by Anonymousreply 43May 29, 2014 3:23 PM

Oh, now I get it. R42 is the one I called mixed-race and gender-undecided.

And R43, "should of known" is wrong no matter what excuse you give.

by Anonymousreply 44May 29, 2014 3:26 PM
"should of known" is wrong no matter what excuse you give.

Then you should HAVE said it was a grammatical error. And not a spelling error.

by Anonymousreply 45May 29, 2014 3:29 PM

Questions like this are so stupid. What was Bomer supposed to say? Did the dope who did the interview expect him to say "it was HOT! My dick was throbbing the whole time!"

by Anonymousreply 46May 29, 2014 3:31 PM

To me, it is a spelling error, R45.

by Anonymousreply 47May 29, 2014 3:33 PM
Questions like this are so stupid. What was Bomer supposed to say?

Celebs get asked this question all the time. Especially ones that are married.

How difficult is it to do a love scene?

How does your spouse feel seeing your love scenes on screen?

What should he have said?

"Love scenes are awkward, despite how they are portrayed on film. It is very technical and there are so many people on set. But Mark made it very comfortable, and I think you see that on-screen"

R46 is that okay with you>

by Anonymousreply 48May 29, 2014 3:34 PM

R46 Bomer needs more media training on how to deal with the media.

For instance Hugh Jackman was asked this same question about being in bed with Nicole Kidman

"My wife is an actor," Jackman, 40, tells PEOPLE. "They both get it. But I don't think they want to be on the set watching the monitor."

Still, filming love scenes with Kidman, 41, "couldn't have been better or easier," he says. "We spoke of setting boundaries."

So did Jackman wear anything for the steamy scenes?

"I won't tell all the nitty gritty," he says coyly. "But [director Baz Luhrmann] treats love scenes like choreography. The camera is like a dancer. If you watch any of his movies, visually, the love scenes are like poetry."

by Anonymousreply 49May 29, 2014 3:38 PM

R48 you're reasoning with crazies who aren't very bright, and obviously can't follow directions when told to do something.

Matt Bomer is not Rosa Parks. He's an actor who courted the closet for years before coming out to some decent B list success. He was married to his agent for years before telling the public that he was even in a relationship, much less married. The childish tantrums his fans constantly have on these threads over gossip are ridiculous. All actors are scrutinized.

And the attempts to portray him as some victim of homophobia over gossip that every celebrity gets is shameful. There are plenty of gay actors out there who are truly discriminated against. Who don't have the easy connections and could use the support but don't get it.

Priorities, people.

by Anonymousreply 50May 29, 2014 3:46 PM

R50 NAILED IT.

Best post I've read on here in ages.

by Anonymousreply 51May 29, 2014 3:54 PM

Guys, put yourself in his place at this moment in time. He is an openly gay actor married to a man and not hiding it at all. I personally see no awkwardness in his actions but if you see some there it most certainly makes sense. Comparing a straight actors answers to this type of question is like comparing apples to oranges. Being out and open is one thing, but Bomer certainly is not going to go to the 'gay sex' talk because the straight fans would melt down. Knowing he is gay is one thing, but they would freak if they actually thought he has gay sex! Ha.

by Anonymousreply 52May 29, 2014 3:58 PM
Knowing he is gay is one thing, but they would freak if they actually thought he has gay sex!

He just had simulated gay sex on HBO four days ago, you freaking dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 53May 29, 2014 4:05 PM

Fuck you asshole that was a role he was playing. In case you didn't notice, Ruffalo was also along for the ride. Dumbass. Guess I should have added "IRL" for the fools around here who have poor reading comprehension.

by Anonymousreply 54May 29, 2014 4:10 PM

The interviewer didn't ask what it's like being in bed with Simon *shudder* He asked what it was like being in bed with Mark. Straight actors get asked this question all the time.

by Anonymousreply 55May 29, 2014 4:16 PM

"Celebs get asked this question all the time. Especially ones that are married."

So fucking what? It's still a lame, stupid question. And who are you to put words in Bomer's mouth? Maybe he DIDN'T feel "comfortable" with Mark Ruffalo. Maybe he didn't even like him. But he's an actor and he made the love scenes believeable because that's what an actor is supposed to do.

by Anonymousreply 56May 29, 2014 4:34 PM

I agree R56, the reporter should have asked Matt a less flippant question, like why he pretended he wasn't the father of the baby he ordered.

by Anonymousreply 57May 29, 2014 4:42 PM
It's still a lame, stupid question.

So according to your logic ALL interviewers should never ask any actor or actress about doing a love scene with a co-star.

Because it is a lame and stupid question.

Correct?

by Anonymousreply 58May 29, 2014 7:15 PM

R58 - That wasn't the question.

The question was "...what is it like being in bed with Mark Ruffalo."

Not nearly the same question as what is it like doing a love scene with Mark Ruffalo.

If you think they are the same question you're either naive or being willfully obtuse.

by Anonymousreply 59May 29, 2014 11:18 PM
The question was "...what is it like being in bed with Mark Ruffalo."

And Hugh Jackman was asked

"...what is it like being in bed with Nicole Kidman"

And Michael Douglas was asked

"...what is it like being in bed with Kathleen Turner"

And Hugh Grant was asked

"...what is it like being in bed with Julia Roberts."

and so on and so on and so on.

So according to your logic, a question like that should NEVER be asked like that.

Correct?

by Anonymousreply 60May 29, 2014 11:28 PM

It depends what the meaning of is is.

by Anonymousreply 61May 29, 2014 11:33 PM

r12, that was a sad, sad case. I thought it was a man who was implicated, or did the girl set him up?

I love Ruffalo, and I'm glad to see him getting work. I don't know why he isn't cast as a sex/love interest more often. He's an old school, Burt Reynolds type of hot actor.

by Anonymousreply 62May 29, 2014 11:49 PM

And Divine Brown was asked what it was like being in bed with Hugh Grant and she said: Muthafuckah there want no muthafuckin bed. I dids him a hummer in a muthahfuckin car.

by Anonymousreply 63May 29, 2014 11:56 PM

R60 - I don't know anything about your examples.

But I suggest you look up the word "context".

Personally I think it's a idiotic question.

Either way he answered the question and was on message.

by Anonymousreply 64May 30, 2014 5:13 AM

That "reporter" asked a VERY stupid question

by Anonymousreply 65May 30, 2014 9:12 AM

Im surprised Simon posed with Matt at the premiere.

by Anonymousreply 66May 30, 2014 8:03 PM

It was a stupid question because there's nothing hot about Mark Ruffalo.

by Anonymousreply 67May 30, 2014 8:34 PM

Datalounge has become a very, very ugly place. Goodbye!

by Anonymousreply 68June 8, 2014 12:47 AM

He should have not lead with that question. He should have asked another question first. D

I want to know what baby he ordered. I believe that all of the boys in him and Simone's relationship are Simone's. The first boy was born around the time they started their relationship and the twins look like Simone. I do not think Matt has any biological kids. I could be wrong though.

by Anonymousreply 69June 27, 2014 5:26 AM

i meant Simon. i wish we could edit. darn

r69

by Anonymousreply 70June 27, 2014 5:29 AM

Mark had Matt Bomer in his bed and did not know what to do with him. I just wanted better kissing. not much to ask.

by Anonymousreply 71June 27, 2014 5:31 AM

Have heard a lot about this guy but not really seen him in anything. Looking at that interview I can see what some of the fuss is about and boy can some people read a lot into 1 minute interviews

by Anonymousreply 72June 27, 2014 6:29 AM

r72 Watch him in The Normal Heart.

by Anonymousreply 73June 27, 2014 3:06 PM

Matt is hot, Mark is DISGUSTING

by Anonymousreply 74February 15, 2020 11:45 AM

I am not the Bomer Stalker, whose "rich, white actor" comments expose him as a Jealous Bitch.

But Bomer should have been able to see that the reporter was young, family and trying to be funny. He should have been funnier and friendlier before explaining he's a professional and NORMAL HEART is about heavy stuff.

I, for one, think Bomer should have answered "What was it like to be in bed with Mark Ruffalo" like this:

"VERY SLOPPY. You'd think a man of Mark's advanced age would have learned to douche by now, but it was like striking oil."

And THEN Bomer could have explained he was just kidding, that Mark is straight and AIDS is heavy stuff.
