Don Lemon, what's his deal?

Top, bottom? Did he ever have a black boyfriend? How bad are his issues?

by Anonymousreply 31505/04/2021

Very appealing guy. Looks way younger than his age of late 40s.

by Anonymousreply 102/21/2014

Hawt.

by Anonymousreply 202/21/2014

I think he's single again

by Anonymousreply 302/22/2014

So handsome!! anyone got a shirtless pic?

Who has he dated/slept with?

by Anonymousreply 402/22/2014

[quote]Top, bottom?

He's a versatile newsman.

by Anonymousreply 502/22/2014

Snow queen.

by Anonymousreply 602/22/2014

[quote]How bad are his issues?

BAD. I love to help him work them out in the bedroom!

by Anonymousreply 702/22/2014

If you aren't white, he's not interested.

by Anonymousreply 802/22/2014

He thinks he's important and he's only a pain in the ass.

by Anonymousreply 902/22/2014

He's like all of the news readers on CNN: no depth, arrogant, thinks he's a celebrity, more focused on entertainment than news. Don Lemon and the other nitwits (are you listening Carroll Costello), are the reason newspapers will never die.

Besides Jason Carroll is infinitely hotter.

Don's current guy is very hot. I saw them skiing and looking very cozy comfy back in January. His first name is Will.

by Anonymousreply 1802/22/2014

Let me guess...will is African-American!

by Anonymousreply 1902/22/2014

SO WRONG, R19.

by Anonymousreply 2002/22/2014

r18, Will is white?

by Anonymousreply 2102/24/2014

Once you are famous you get to drop the black partners and get a white one.

by Anonymousreply 2202/24/2014

so what if he likes white cock? That's his right. most brothas are on the downlow anyway so it's probably hard to meet a decent successful gay black man.

by Anonymousreply 2302/24/2014

R22 Watch out, Gayle!

by Anonymousreply 2402/24/2014

Gosh, r22. It's so hard to find a black man who speaks well and picks up after himself like I do.

by Anonymousreply 2502/25/2014

Don just needs a well endowed brotha to smash it one good time!

by Anonymousreply 2602/25/2014

Should've married Yvonne Lime and started a line of soft drinks.

by Anonymousreply 2702/25/2014

He's a faggot racist for not dating blacks.

by Anonymousreply 2802/28/2014

He's a seriously obnoxious cunt on CNN, who has misguided and moronic opinions in place of facts. Of the Anderson Cooper mold in that he wants to be famous more than he wants to be a newsman. He should be let go.

by Anonymousreply 2902/28/2014

by Anonymousreply 3903/07/2014

I bet Don has and would date a black man, but other black gay guys (r38, ahem) have put him in a box and would never approach him. Don touched on this subject in his book. It's the same reason black athletes usually date white women, black women are to busy turning up their faces because they assume these guys are only dating white.

by Anonymousreply 4003/07/2014

He actually admitted that he was molested at a young age by another man, so he is probably still dealing with that today (you asked how bad are his issues).

by Anonymousreply 4103/07/2014

Wait - Jason Carroll is gay?

He used to only do sports reporting.

I know he moved to more network based stuff - but he was sports only for a long time.

by Anonymousreply 4307/18/2014

The word for gays who like white guys is "potato queen". At least that's what Asians call them.

by Anonymousreply 4407/19/2014

Don thought that putting down black folks would get him a primtime show on CNN, well, he got one for a minute but now they've paired him with a former Fox blonde and his dream of being a solo anchor in primetime has been dashed.

by Anonymousreply 4507/19/2014

R43 - Jason Carroll's been gay and out since he was a local reporter in NYC at WPIX twenty years ago - before he went to CNN.

He likes to date ugly drag queens, as seen at link:

Yes yes, it has nothing to do with Lemon being a self hating looser. Lemon is the victim of a community of very cruel and angry black. They absolutely refuse to approach him, thereby maliciously denying him the pleasures of their big black dicks. Mr. Lemon of course would never think of approaching any man himself. Thankfully, hoards of white men approach him all day everyday.

[quote] There are no celebrity gay black men who date other black men as far as I can tell.

As far as out gay black celebs, You're talking about a very short list of people.

by Anonymousreply 4807/19/2014

[quote]Or do you prefer to hear the same kind of defensive crap from Rev Al and Jesse over and over again?

YES, because THEY tell the real honest truth and Don is just making racists like you happy by blaming racism on black people.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Keep in mind though that Sharpton, Jackson and Lemon were not elected by the black community to be it's national spokes people. Last time I checked none of them had been elected to do anything. Its silly to even attempt to assign any large community, rich with diversity, 1 or a few spokes people.

by Anonymousreply 5107/19/2014

Don is having a fabulous time in NYC, based on his Twitter and Tumbler pics.

Why exactly does anyone need a television show to disagree with Lemon? When you express your ill informed opinions publicly, as Mr. Lemon often does, you should expect criticism. Which Lemon does. He seeks the negative attention that his commentary brings. Negative attention is better than no attention.

by Anonymousreply 5807/19/2014

He and Richard Quest should be shipped to a deserted island no report the news that literally is transmitted nowhere. Such utter buffoons.

Well if most of the people here posting disparaging comments about Don are actually other gay black men, then that is indicative of his dating options. Guys like Don usually don't date other brothers because most of the guys that approach him probably can't handle dating another black man who has managed to become successful. There might be sexual attraction at first, but jealousy then starts to settle in. Ask Kerry Rhodes and Mantasia!

by Anonymousreply 6007/19/2014

[quote]Yes yes, it has nothing to do with Lemon being a self hating looser.

You only think that because you're a self hating "looser" yourself. It's LOSER you jackass. You only dislike Don because he's gay, and you hate that about yourself. There are plenty of your kind here that cut down other gay men.

Thank you for that wonderful bit of flawed logic. I believe that someone here stated earlier that Don claimed that black men don't approach him; which is probably due more due to the fact that he's an asshole.

by Anonymousreply 6207/19/2014

I read his book r62. He didn't say anything about his relationships in the book, so no one really knows that for sure. He did have issues with race growing up in Louisiana, I'm sure all black people have. But his issues were kind of unique because he went to predominately white schools. Don's father was a lawyer if I remember, and his step-dad was also well off. He did not have the typical upbringing of most black children, especially in the south.

Don's is the caliber of loser who deserves an extra O, thank you very much. My opinions of Don have nothing to do with his sexuality. I'm not sure how or why you reached that silly conclusion. I disagree with many of Mr. Lemons opinions and I believe that his motives are often questionable. I also have would describe most anyone who dates exclusively outside of their own race as self hating. Now calm down sweetie; Don is not your boyfriend and he never will be.

by Anonymousreply 6407/19/2014

Lemon had a different outfit for everyday of his senior year of high school.

r64, you think Don Lemon has been denying himself black dick all this time? Ha!

by Anonymousreply 6707/19/2014

Don is very handsome and looks much younger than his age but his body is SUCH a letdown! He admitted on his instagram that he doesn't work out. Nothing hot or cute about an average body, especially when you're over 35.

by Anonymousreply 6807/19/2014

[quote] But his issues were kind of unique because he went to predominately white schools. Don's father was a lawyer if I remember, and his step-dad was also well off. He did not have the typical upbringing of most black children, especially in the south.

Don is not the first or the only black person to come from an upper middle class background. Nor is he the first or the only black person to attend a predominantly white school. Outside of those who attend historically black colleges and universities; any black person who goes to college will attend a predominantly white school. Being only 12% of the population blacks will often find themselves publicly in the minority.

by Anonymousreply 6907/19/2014

by Anonymousreply 7908/23/2014

I've known Don Lemon professionally for quite some time. In addition, I see him out semi-regularly at social events.

Don has no romantic or sexual interest in non-white men. He also has this passive-aggressive disdain for other black men, especially those who he views are "not like him". There is a lot of internalized racism, self-hatred and deflection going on there -- which has obviously bled into his opinions and his "politics of respectability" when expressing his viewpoints of issues involving black men (refer to his on-air tirade last year insinuating that young men like Trayvon Martin wouldn't be stalked and killed by murderous vigilantes / law enforcement officers if they just pulled their pants up, listened to more palatable music, and didn't act so brutish.)

I have no issue with someone from a minority or marginalized group who is attracted to others from a different race or ethnicity than he -- as long as he does not exclude others from their own group in their dating pool. Don, however, is exclusively not interested in other black men.

A poster above claimed that Don has stated that he is open to dating other black men but none every approach him. If he really did claim this, this is total bullshit. Don lived in Atlanta (a black professional and black gay Mecca) and now lives in NYC (another multicultural haven with many gay men of color). Don chooses to associate only with other gay men, even lolly gagging with groups of white gay guys at notoriously white gay establishments with very little diversity (and the diversity in those establishments are men who are also only interested in white men), when there are many other diverse social options in these cities.

The truth is that he proactively seeks out and singles out white guys because that's what he is into. I'd have much more respect for him and other snow queens if they wouldn't use excuses and rationalization, such as black men never approach me / they're intimidated by my success/ outness/ overall fierceness / whatever", "my interests like snowboarding / whitewater rafting and polo just aren't the things that black men do", "I grew up in an all white neighborhood/on a farm /raised by 2 white celebrity parents who adopted me from Malawi, so I am comfortable with what I know" "I am open to meeting a black guy but I just can't find a good one" or "you can't help who you fall in love with / get hot for!", and just speak their real truth: "I am only into white guys so black men don't even bother looking my way!" Just he honest and own your snow queenness.

by Anonymousreply 8008/23/2014

I'm shocked that he's 48. I thought he was around 40-41. He's a good looking guy but his face changes dramatically when he smiles.

by Anonymousreply 8108/23/2014

I saw him at Matinee (outdoor dance party on governor's island) this past June with some DUSTY ass old white dude who was obviously on drugs. Old white dude had a pretty good body tho.

And r80, I'm a black man who generally does date all races but pretty much ends up with white dudes most of the time, and if I were to walk down the street with my white bf now you'd just deem me a "snow queen" and have no idea that I dated a Jamaican guy for a year not too long ago. Which is the problem I have with black queens who are so worried about other blacks who sometimes date interracially.

Black gay men are the LEAST likely out of every group to be partnered or in a relationship and yet we're supposed to shrink our dating pool even further? GTFO.

by Anonymousreply 8208/23/2014

@82:

I can't speak for others, but personally, I would never presume that you or any other black man were a snow queen just because I saw you/him walking down the street arm-in-arm with a white BF. Some get labeled a snow queen (by me, at least) when he shows a persistent, regular pattern over time of dating/sexing white men to the exclusion of black men, and/or if he makes a claim or statement that he prefers dating/sexing it with white men for whatever reason.

It would be pretty hard to come to that sweeping conclusion by just seeing you or any one black man with his white boyfriend on the street. I have made those conclusions about Don Lemon, as I said, after knowing him, seeing him and observing his behavior and patterns over a number of years in both Atlanta and New York City.

Regarding your comment about Don Lemon's "dusty" white companion, snow queens generally will date and socialize with white guys who aren't as attractive (physically and/or socioeconomically) as they are, just because (1) in the snow queenish black guy's psyche, that white guy becomes more attractive to him just because of his whiteness, and (2) white men in general have a privileged (even if it is just subconscious) presumption that they deserve the best black men, no matter what the white guy doesn't bring to the table, simply because of his whiteness. This is why you often see a black guy who rates as an 8 or a 9 with a white guy who is a 3 or 4.

by Anonymousreply 8308/23/2014

@82:

I would also like you to cite your source for the following claim you make:

"Black gay men are the LEAST likely out of every group to be partnered or in a relationship..."

Where is the evidence of this? Are we only going on anectodes and personal observations? If so, I will have to contradict you, as I know plenty of black gay men that are in or have been partnered or in relationships. I'm in my early 40s and I've been "in the life" since I was 16, and I've met many over the years. Maybe you're just not looking in the same places I am?

by Anonymousreply 8408/23/2014

[quote]The truth is that he proactively seeks out and singles out white guys because that's what he is into. I'd have much more respect for him and other snow queens if they wouldn't use excuses and rationalization, such as black men never approach me / they're intimidated by my success/ outness/ overall fierceness / whatever", "my interests like snowboarding / whitewater rafting and polo just aren't the things that black men do", "I grew up in an all white neighborhood/on a farm /raised by 2 white celebrity parents who adopted me from Malawi, so I am comfortable with what I know" "I am open to meeting a black guy but I just can't find a good one" or "you can't help who you fall in love with / get hot for!",

But r80, Don has never used any of those "excuses" you've listed.

And I also don't believe Don didn't hook up with ANY other black men while he lived in Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta and New York over the past 20 years. Yeah he might only publicly date and socialize with white men presently, but come on now. Im sure he's been an undiscriminating slut at some point.

[quote]I'd have much more respect for him and other snow queens if they wouldn't use excuses and rationalization

You know, I'd like to believe that you would, but the tone of your posts suggests you wouldn't. And let's be real, we make rationalizations for a LOT of our dating decisions.

[quote]I know plenty of black gay men that are in or have been partnered or in relationships. I'm in my early 40s and I've been "in the life" since I was 16, and I've met many over the years.

no r87, let him keep on. He is providing tons of evidence to prove my point that 99% of black gay men that come here to make disparaging comments about one of the few out gay black men are just bitter.

by Anonymousreply 8808/23/2014

R85:

I'm not going to attempt to copy and paste your comments here in the same format that you did (which looks great, btw, I wish I could do it as well), so I'll just provide yours in quotes and give you my response.

"Don has never used any of those "excuses" you've listed."

I didn't say that ONLY those excuses were unacceptable. There are plenty others as well as variations of them. Also, one poster above stated that Don has said in the past (either in his book or an interview about his book) that black men do not approach him (assuming he means because they are somehow intimidated by or disinterested in him). So yes, that qualifies as one of those unacceptable excuses.

"And I also don't believe Don didn't hook up with ANY other black men while he lived in Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta and New York over the past 20 years. Yeah he might only publicly date and socialize with white men presently, but come on now. Im sure he's been an undiscriminating slut at some point."

I hope you realize that someone CAN be an indiscriminate slut and still exclude a certain race. For example, plenty of indiscriminate white sluts of both genders have never been with a black person, and plenty of indiscriminate black sluts have never been with white person. It's not really about being slutty; it's about preferences in dating or sexual partners. Just because someone lives in a town with a large percentage of black people in it, does not mean that they had developed an interest in dating them. Atlanta, for example, has lots of black men who prefer to date each other, as well as lots who date interracially as well as intraracially, and also plenty of snow queens who wouldn't even think of having sex with or dating another black man, EVER (and they will openly say this, too!).

Even if what you posit is so, just because a gay black man had sex or dated another black person in their distant past, it doesn't necessarily mean they couldn't be a snow queen now -- especially if the opportunity and circumstances to act on their primary interests are more present than ever.

"You know, I'd like to believe that you would, but the tone of your posts suggests you wouldn't. And let's be real, we make rationalizations for a LOT of our dating decisions."

Actually, I wouldn't. You (probably) don't know me, but I mean what I say and I say what I do. I've gotten along pretty well in life by making careful observations, and I wouldn't presume to know what anyone is attracted to simply by seeing them just one time on the street with someone that looks to be their current boyfriend. Actually, unless it were someone I found really attractive, I probably wouldn't notice much or pay much attention. I would have to observe someone over time or have interactions with them in order to make the kind of assessment I've made about Don Lemon.

"Why aren't you partnered yet, in your early 40s?"

Why did you presume that I have not been partnered yet? I've been in two serious exclusive long-term relationships, and I've also had some great single periods. I am currently seeing someone now and we'll just see how it goes, but I'm comfortable with the current status. However, I'm just perplexed about why you would assume that in 25 years, I've never dated anyone seriously. That's a huge leap you make. I don't understand how you made it. Please explain.

(BTW, having a boyfriend/relationship is not some magic validation. You don't get some prize for it. Just like anyone can make a baby, anyone can have a boyfriend.)

by Anonymousreply 8908/23/2014

R87 needs to learn the definitions of "racist" and "black nationalist" as well as "troll."

by Anonymousreply 9008/23/2014

R88:

What particularly would I have to be bitter about?

by Anonymousreply 9108/23/2014

[quote]Also, one poster above stated that Don has said in the past (either in his book or an interview about his book) that black men do not approach him (assuming he means because they are somehow intimidated by or disinterested in him)

I actually read Don's book. He never mentioned his personal relationships with men in the book, not one iota. He only talked about his adolescence, that he was sexually abused at a young age, and how he primarily socialized with whites because the high school he went to was predominately white. He felt like the world had many social labels that people had to fit themselves into, and he didn't like that. One might conclude that he might have had a difficult time in his relations with other black men, for a number of reasons: he might have been abused by one, didn't grow up around a lot of black people. But Don's never actually addressed or confirmed that publicly out of his mouth or in writing. So that can't be an "excuse".

[quote]However, I'm just perplexed about why you would assume that in 25 years, I've never dated anyone seriously. That's a huge leap you make. I don't understand how you made it. Please explain.

I wasn't assuming that you'd never been a long-term relationship. I was just making a point that you are on here refuting that a lot of gay black men aren't single, when you don't have a partner yourself. Don't take it personally, I'm just saying. ITA with you about relationships not validating your happiness. But I think you'll find yourself doing a lot more rationalizing about who you end up dating as you get older.

But Don's never actually addressed or confirmed that publicly out of his mouth or in writing. So that can't be an "excuse"."

It wasn't in the book, but as the poster above said, it may have been in one of his interviews around the time of the book's release when he was doing the circuit. I will add, though that, as I stated before, I know the guy professionally and have been with him in more than enough social and professional settings to conclude that he is exclusively into white men, and has a tacit disdain for black men who do not behave like he does.

BTW, the "I grew up around mostly white people and went to predominantly white schools, and was raised in a two-parent household with well-mannered professional black parents" as a reason that you do not date or 'click with' other black men" is quite frankly, a total bullshit excuse. I, like a lot of my black straight and gay friends, grew up in almost all white neighborhoods in a two-parent professional household, was the only black kid in many of my classes, and went to some of the top tier 1 colleges and universities in the country, and, unlike snow queens like Lemon, I and most of my friends have never excluded black men from our dating choices at all. In fact, most of us (gay and straight) date intraracially. In general (of course, there are exceptions to every rule), In complete contradiction to this notion, I find that most gay black men who exclusively date outside their own race grew up in all-black, poorer communities and were not as exposed to others growing up. I'm speaking of the ones who date exclusively outside their own race, not those who are open to dating other races and still also date their own.

You said: "I wasn't assuming that you'd never been a long-term relationship. I was just making a point that you are on here refuting that a lot of gay black men aren't single, when you don't have a partner yourself. Don't take it personally, I'm just saying. ITA with you about relationships not validating your happiness. But I think you'll find yourself doing a lot more rationalizing about who you end up dating as you get older."

Someone could be single now but recently out of a long-term relationship, or have had one in the past. Or another person could have a short-term boyfriend and call it a relationship, or could be a serial monogamist, dating many different people exclusively over a long period of time and saying they always have a boyfriend. I still don't get your point. A lot of black gay men are not single; many are in or have been in serious relationships. I am still waiting for you to support your earlier claim that "black gay men are the LEAST likely out of every group to be partnered or in a relationship." If that is just your personal observation or anectode, then just own it and say so. That's fine for you if so, but my experience and interactions with the community over 25 years shows me that things are markedly different than what you have observed on that subject.

by Anonymousreply 9608/23/2014

I would love to turn him into my little bitch-fuck.

by Anonymousreply 9708/23/2014

R95, I really don't think it's all that fair to label R82 a snow queen just because he admits to having a white boyfriend currently. A snow queen is a black gay man who is exclusively or primarily interested in white men. He hasn't provided any evidence that he prefers not to date other black men; in fact, he stated that his previous boyfriend was a black Jamaican.

Yes, someone from a marginalized / minority racial or ethnic group who has no romantic or sexual interest in others from that same racial or ethnic group is exhibiting some deep-seated self-loathing, but it is entirely possible for someone to be attracted to and open to dating people of other colors without excluding those from his own racial background. I think they key to being a real snow queen is whether they exclude (whether consciously or not) black men from their dating pool, or in the very least, keep them in "last place" or use them as a "last resort" when dating / sexing.

by Anonymousreply 9808/23/2014

Now how come the thread about this got deleted? Are we hitting a little to close to home about Don?

I've said all along Don fools around with thugs behind closed doors. And yeah they are black for all the people who insist that he's a snow queen

LMAO @ "Hennessy-fueled, blunt-filled, back blowing thug passion nights"

by Anonymousreply 10111/26/2014

Don looks 35. I'm sure some of it is because of makeup. I've seen pics of him where it looks like he doesn't have a lot of make up on and you can see the uneven skin tone which comes with age. His demeanor gives off a much younger vibe too.

by Anonymousreply 10211/26/2014

Im late 20s and I want him so badly. If I ever meet him in ATL or NYC, it's over bitches. I will be decorating his new deluxe NY apartment in my draws after we get done smashing!

by Anonymousreply 10311/27/2014

R99 I want that guy to release his evidence then. Don doesn't seem like he's into guys who aren't clean cut, and we've only seen him with whites.

by Anonymousreply 10411/27/2014

R80 seems closest to the truth about Don but I can also see him being a big hypocrite as the post @ R99 implies.

by Anonymousreply 10511/27/2014

I know someone he dated in Atlanta. Whitest, preppiest-dressed guy you could possibly imagine. The interesting part is, the minute this guy pulled out a bag of weed one night and offered to roll a joint for them, that was it. Done. Don told him something along the lines of, "No way. I don't tolerate that stuff. I'm on air. I respect my career." They never went out again.

by Anonymousreply 10611/27/2014

r106 I believe that. But Im still not buying that he doesn't spread for the brothers. If he doesn't spoke weed then how else does he unwind after long hours at CNN? Im sure he has one or two "urban" dudes that he flies around to take care of his needs!

Don doesn't seem religious, but he reminds me of the gay black men that you find in the Baptist church. They are sanctimonious one minute, but the next they are out there giving up their ass to any n*gg*.

by Anonymousreply 10711/27/2014

For all we know the guy could be lying or someone could have given him pics of a guy who looks like Don. Don just doesn't seem like the drug & thug loving type. If he were to go black I think he'd be with clean cut black guys

by Anonymousreply 10811/27/2014

He would have to be a self-hating hypocrite to do what he's doing. On the WRONG side of history.

by Anonymousreply 10911/27/2014

Don has a type. Very Ivy League, Jewish and Italians. He doesn't really go for the WASPy type, like Anderson Cooper wouldn't be his flavor. He goes for what we call "polished-ethnics". If he's doing thugs on the dl, then he wouldn't be the first, but I would find it very surprising.

by Anonymousreply 11011/27/2014

by Anonymousreply 11111/27/2014

by Anonymousreply 11211/27/2014

What bores me to tears with these black gay hypocrites obsessed with who Lemon is dating etc, is would YOU date him???!

No you wouldn't. So why THE F*CK do you care??!

I get people getting upset with Derrick Gordon because he seems, very, African American and somewhat typical black guy. Not majorly keen on education and bigger on conformity then anything else. So to me, that personality works insync with all these black guys who whine about snow queens.

But some of you who claim you went to mainly white schools like Don and are Ivy League educated? Really? You wouldn't be so narrow minded and stupid. In fact you would question the ridiculousness of race and culture; intellectually questioning who its used to create diversions and conflict in society.

Yet, you guys are acting basic.

You know as an educated person, the first thing you learn in university is the social constructs of class, religion and race in modern society. The issue is NOT race but class.

Why would you want to date someone of a lower class then you if you have nothing in common? For what? To sanctimoniously make yourself feel better? That you're 'Right On'? So other black people can superficially judge you and then...what? Are they paying your bills? Are they there to pick you up when you feel like nothing?

I've far as I've seen Lemon goes out with men who I think he is very suited to-smug, educated climbers. I don't care if they are white or black.

I have not seen any black people who fit that description, though I'm sure they exist but they tend to be right wing and Lemon is on the left. Well center left.

It's so sad that you would go out with someone based on the superficiality of race and culture, instead of common interests.

Also, don't black people HATE Lemon because of his respectability politics? Soooo again....which black men would go for him!?

Like I said, pick your battles because you guys just sound like insane whiney hypocrites.

I get people like Derrick Gordon-but to me more then anything, it's a case of access and those older white gay men in the gay scene have definitely made themselves available to him, especially someone who seems to crave an older support system that clearly left when he came out to his Dad.

SMDH. This is why so many black women and gay men are single. Why don't you actually demand more from your black brothers? Why don't you go out with someone you have shared common interests instead of always being so superficial?

You're race defines you but what are you guys doing to actually make changes for black culture? It seems all you guys do is complain, whilst the rest of us who keep quite are busy at the front lines-lobbying or getting up at 6 am to volunteer at Parliament for an equality policy. (FYI I am black British, hence parliament.)

by Anonymousreply 11311/27/2014

You've written an interested post R113. But in America, unfortunately, race and class are tightly intertwined and will take awhile to come undone from the other.

by Anonymousreply 11411/27/2014

r112

Don Lemon is angry he is black because he hates how blacks are obsessed with victimizing themselves and never taking responsibilities to change, grow or actually be progressive.

There is no greater oxymoron then a black person who seeks to be taken seriously but in the same breadth mentions Jesus or Allah; two leaders from the two religions that were used to oppress, rape and dehumanize them.

How can you even be a healthy person of the mind when in one breath you complain of the white man but in another you irrationally obsess about the tool he used to enslave you?

And the way African Americans treat gay men? Black gay men are really succeeding at the moment in Entertainment, yet they are rarely mentioned and black men like Keith Boykins rarely take them to task.

Is is a surprise these men seek companionship with white men who at least have a spine? And don't make excuses for the f*ck ups in their culture all the time?

Funny thing is that if Don did meet a black man like himself,he'd marry him. Mark my words. That's why he's still single at his age-he's waiting for that mythical black gay American gay man.

But I don't know. He needs to widen his pool and attend UN events etc. There some out gay black men of high caliber but they are from all over different countries....

Still, I think he wants an African American man because race is a major issue for him and he isn't as enlightened as he thinks he is.

He is very angry. Very hurt by the black community.

Love and Hate. Two side, same coin.

by Anonymousreply 11511/27/2014

r113 hell yes I would date him!!! Not only because I find him attractive but because I understand his issues with other black men. He is likely sexually attracted to the same things that he feels keep black men from prospering in American society.

Yeah, a lot of us gay black men live in that same state of mind, please don't deny it. I see posters here on sexually explicit threads, who simply say they are exclusively attracted trade aka street hoodlums aka thugs. I dont think there is anything wrong with that. But when you are black and over 40 like Don, and Im assuming he wants a lasting relationship, you usually have to make trade offs in what turns you on and what is realistic in terms of a life long partner.

by Anonymousreply 11611/27/2014

R113 any points you tried making are nullified by the racist generalizations you made about what YOU think black people are like. GTFO with your "very African American" and "not keen on education" among other ignorant comments

by Anonymousreply 11711/27/2014

He's very light-complexioned. Obviously he's at least as white as he is black. Who care who he fucks anyway? Isn't that his business?

Does anyone watch that "Finding Your Roots" show on PBS? The host himself (ostensibly black) discovered that he is actually more euro than African genetically.

by Anonymousreply 11811/27/2014

Ever notice how all the openly gay black male celebs have serious self-hate issues and only date white men? It's sad.

R103 I hope you're white because that's all he dates.

by Anonymousreply 11911/27/2014

What if Don Lemon, like Barack Obama, has a white mother, so interracial relationships seem normal to him and YOU are the one who is racist not him?

I think it's so funny those of you who say that if any famous black guy dates anyone non-black he is automatically self-loathing and any white guy who dates a black guy has a thug fetish and you have no idea how racist YOU are.

You people are way more racist than the people you claim victimize you. If you want racism to end maybe you should quit being so racist about interracial couples.

by Anonymousreply 12011/27/2014

He has replaced Rick Sanchez as the single stupidest person in television news.

by Anonymousreply 12111/27/2014

[quote]What if Don Lemon, like Barack Obama, has a white mother, so interracial relationships seem normal to him and YOU are the one who is racist not him?

But he doesn't have a white mother...

Plus, nobody is saying that you can't be in interracial relationships, but when you deliberately won't date your own race, then yes, you do have some self-hate issues.

by Anonymousreply 12211/27/2014

[quote]Ever notice how all the openly gay black male celebs have serious self-hate issues and only date white men? It's sad.

A lot of times white men are the only guys available, because lord knows the black men will turn you if become successful, as we can see in this thread and how those guys when off on him on Twitter. Just like how black athletes end up wifing white chicks.

[quote]Funny thing is that if Don did meet a black man like himself,he'd marry him. Mark my words. That's why he's still single at his age-he's waiting for that mythical black gay American gay man.

You say that like it's something particular to Mr. Lemon. Most gay men seek and end up with partners that are similar to them. And that also is not unique to gay relationships either, most straight people enter relationships with similar interests and beliefs. And why does the black gay American man have to be a myth?

Don is probably like the gay version of Halle Berry when it comes to dating. Im sure he started out dating black men, but after failing in that dating pool he transitioned to white men.

I do agree that he is a little angry. I find that most black men that become successful think their route to success is the only way there is. Like Spike Lee and Bill Cosby, both very angry. Don can't continue to be frustrated that other black men don't want to do the things he did to have a great career. He needs to realize that everyone is not going to have the same experience he did. If I knew him as a friend or if I was dating him that's what I would say.

by Anonymousreply 12311/27/2014

I only date white guys and I'm not ashamed of that. Black guys never ask me out or check me out at the club, so whatever. I'm not going lose any sleep over it. I'm not the type of black guy that other blacks guys are into and that's okay.

by Anonymousreply 12411/27/2014

"I'm not the type of black guy that other blacks guys are into and that's okay"

So then what type of black guy are other black guys into?

Seriously, I find this puzzling.

Now while I know this is by far a "normal" example, but porn star Diesel Washington, by far, gets incredibly vicious tweets from black men - which he will then re-tweet. One guy even called him "an Oreo", lol!

Don Lemon, in particular, y far received the most negative tweets on the night of the Ferguson shooting from other black people. I was shocked!

by Anonymousreply 13011/29/2014

I think David Muir would be the perfect boyfriend for Don. He's a little younger than Don, he's white, in the media, the things he seems to seek in boyfriends. David is a boss.

by Anonymousreply 15301/25/2015

R149, I'm a black guy who has only dated white guys. I'm not self loathing in the least bit. I like being black. You just happen to date people who are connected to your friends and your social circle and who have similar interests. So far, at least for me, that has only been white guys. Don is probably in the same situation.

I went to a black gay club once, and it just wasn't my thing.

by Anonymousreply 15401/25/2015

They do, R149, But you're right, just not to your face.

by Anonymousreply 15501/25/2015

[quote]Why are black people who date white folks always described as "self hating?" I'm white and I like black men(and white men) and no one describes me as self hating. Well, not to my face.

The term self-hating is often used to describe people (black or white)who date exclusively outside of their own race. It is an adequate description for anyone who claims to find most all members of their own race to be unattractive or undesirable.

[quote]You just happen to date people who are connected to your friends and your social circle and who have similar interests. So far, at least for me, that has only been white guys. Don is probably in the same situation.

You will never know how many black guys share your same interests because you've automatically disqualified them based upon their skin color. People who date only one race are first and foremost concerned about skin color, not common interest.

by Anonymousreply 15701/25/2015

by Anonymousreply 15801/25/2015

[quote] You said you like being black, but you went to a black club and it wasn't your thing. How often do you hear white gays say they went to a white club and it "wasn't their thing"? Never.

1. Lots of white gay guys are not into gay bars.

2. There are no "white" gay bars. "White" gay bars don't exclude anyone. You will find all races and ethnicities there.

3. Black gay bars are way more hostile to other races. Black guys at black bars definitely make it clear whites are not welcome there. There is a huge difference in vibe between a black gay bar and a "white" gay bar. It's not racist or self-loathing for a black guy to not like the vibe at a black gay bar. Especially if everyone is calling him self-loathing for being attracted to a white guy. It's shocking how some black people can be so blatantly racist and be completely ignorant to it.

Maybe R154 realizes a lot of black people are more racist than white people. Maybe he wants a boyfriend who doesn't sag his pants or wear doorags, has a college education so they have things in common to talk about, has good credit, doesn't do drugs, doesn't talk during movies, doesn't wear an afropick in his hair, doesn't have gold teeth, isn't overly confrontational and start fights about nothing all the time, is respectful to other people and doesn't blame everything on racism, and make everything about racism and seeing how many people he can call racist every day by acting out every stereotype just to provoke a reaction. It gets exhausting.

Some black guys just want to live their lives and not go out of their way to piss off white people and race bait to look tough and prove all the racist white people right. And by doing that they get called self-loathing. It isn't self-loathing to act civilized and not be an embarrassment in public. It is more racist and self-loathing to say a black man can't be educated and responsible than it is to date a white guy who you get along better with.

by Anonymousreply 16101/26/2015

There is nothing more hostile the argument that you built out of a collection of nasty stereotypes, bigoted generalizations and idiotic assumptions.

The term self-loathing has nothing to do with a vibe at a bar. As I stated before, the term self-hating is often used to describe people (black or white)who date exclusively outside of their own race. It is an adequate description for anyone who claims to find most all members of their own race to be unattractive or undesirable.

You are implied that you have not only intimate knowledge of every gay bar in the United States (black and white) but you also implied that you have intimate knowledge of the majority of the black men in this country. Whom you've reduced to nothing more than an offensive stereotype. You believe that productive black men are somehow the exception, instead of the rule. Basically what your commentary boils down to is that you believe that blacks are inferior. You are willing to give R154 a pass because he believes blacks are inferior too.

You sir are a nasty card carrying bigot. Like many who post here, you're just looking for a platform from which to spread ignorance and hate. Kindly take your stereotypes, generalizations and white supremacy and shove it.

Did anyone see Miss Lemon roving around NYC in the CNN Blizzardmoblie in utter defiance of the curfew/travel ban? he wasn't even wearing a seatbelt!

by Anonymousreply 16401/26/2015

R162/R163 I was not quoting R154, I was quoting R156. Read what was actually quoted and it will make sense. R156 said white guys don't say they don't like going to white bars, and there are white guys who are not into the bar scene. There are people of every race who are not into the bar scene.

You can like gay bars and not like black gay bars. The vibe is very different. Different music etc. You must be white and have never been to a black gay bar or you would understand the difference.

It's not self hating to be physically attracted to a particular race. That's like saying a man should only be able to date a woman. You can't tell people who they can and cannot be attracted to.

A black bar is more racist because it explicitly segregates. Regular or "white" gay bars allow everyone. Again you must not even be black and have not even been to a black bar. Black gay guys who are not racist and do not conform to all the stereotypes you say you have to conform to to not be self-loathing can find each other at the regular "white" gay bars that are for everyone.

[quote] you also implied that you have intimate knowledge of the majority of the black men in this country. Whom you've reduced to nothing more than an offensive stereotype.

Not true. Racist black guys who call black guys who do not conform to offensive stereotypes or date other races self-loathing are reducing themselves to stereotypes by saying black guys have to be a certain way or they are wrong. I am saying black guys should not have to conform to all the stereotypes to be a true black person that you have someone unilaterally decided what is and is not acceptable. You are saying anyone who does not fit the stereotype is self-loathing. Why are you trying to control everyone else and call them self-loathing if they do not fit your racist standard?

[quote] You believe that productive black men are somehow the exception, instead of the rule. Basically what your commentary boils down to is that you believe that blacks are inferior. You are willing to give R154 a pass because he believes blacks are inferior too.

Nope, not true. I am saying you are racist for trying to make all black men fit into your racist little box and if they don't you call them self-loathing. By calling successful black men self-loathing and saying they are not really black and trying to be white you are the one being racist.

You should be happy when a black man succeeds, not try to bring him down to your level and make him exactly like you. People are different leave them alone. Targeting interracial relationships is racist. Period. It's shocking you don't understand how racist you are and how your thinking only perpetuates stereotypes and drives people apart.

by Anonymousreply 16501/26/2015

What if two successful and professional AKA "self-loathing" and "white acting" black guys dated each other but still did not conform to stereotypes? Are they still self-loathing then because they don't want to be associated with racist stereotypes?

Look in the mirror. You are the one who is self-loathing and racist trying to control everyone else and who/what qualities they are attracted to.

Are you going to date super fat black guy with bad hygiene that you have nothing in common with when your soul mate is a super hot Asian or white or Latino guy just because you are worried someone might call you self-loathing for not picking the black guy? You are self-loathing and racist if you are that worried what other people think.

by Anonymousreply 16601/26/2015

The long-winded troll has an awful case of white self-reverence. That it thinks a successful black man must necessarily date white men, lest he be perpetually single, is pure lunacy. That it seems to imagine all of those trite stereotypes it trotted out reflect actual reality, is just more evidence of its ignorance. Just shut the fuck up, long-winded troll.

by Anonymousreply 16701/26/2015

Nope you should date who you want not bully other ppl into dating only who you think it's acceptable for them to date.

by Anonymousreply 16801/26/2015

What the fuck are you even talking about? You've thrown up a veritable field of scarecrows in this thread, and you're too stupid even see it.

by Anonymousreply 16901/26/2015

Shut up n#gger at r167. You are tiresome.

by Anonymousreply 17001/26/2015

What you are referring to is called a straw man, but you are not even using the term correctly.

I call out ppl who want to trash interracial relationships and call successful black guys "self-loathing" or "white acting" because they don't fit the stereotypes and don't understand it's hypocritical to call other people racist.

I have been the target of racism in an interracial relationship like lots of people. You don't get to decide who other people date.

I know it's hard for you to accept because you like calling other people racist, but you are the racist here.

by Anonymousreply 17101/27/2015

r170, doesn't think he's a racist.

by Anonymousreply 17201/27/2015

First of all, I know what a straw man is. Maybe you'll figure it out one day and stop building them. Secondly, I haven't called anyone a racist. Though with those asinine stereotypes and generalizations you threw out with such ease, or the fact that you seem to think "success" and dating a white guy are essentially the same thing, or that your hypothetical black guy is "fat" and has "bad hygiene," while other potential mates are "super hot" and, most importantly, not black, or... I'm not saying... I'm just saying.

This, though,

[quote]I call out ppl who want to trash interracial relationships and call successful black guys "self-loathing" or "white acting" because they don't fit the stereotypes and don't understand it's hypocritical to call other people racist.

is the problem, and what YOU don't seem to understand. No one is doing that. That is something you’ve conjured up in your own head. The thread was about a news anchor’s serial interracial dating, not successful black men in general and how they're perceived by anyone else. You threw out some inane stereotypes as the reason why a "successful" black man would have to date white guys. People called bullshit.

If you are only attracted to another race, fine. Go for it. It's not my relationship. But if a black guy told me he didn't date black guys, and then proceeded to give me the reasoning that you did in R161, you're absolutely correct that I'd consider him self-loathing. However, his success or lack thereof is entirely irrelevant (what is the stereotype about black men and white women?). His demeanor ("white acting,” an absurd term itself) is entirely irrelevant. But you, for some reason, conflate “success” with being ostracized by black people, and the necessity of interracial dating.

To reiterate, I don't care if people date interracially. I don’t know why Don Lemon does, and frankly, I don’t actually care. A couple of my oldest best friends are in interracial relationships, and I do not "trash" them in any way. In fact, I love them like brothers, and I am beyond happy that they’ve found love. I didn't choose to date interracially, but that was simply a personal preference. And I certainly don't call successful black men "self-loathing" or white acting.” From where exactly did you get these ideas? They certainly did not come from me, since the first six words of your post @ R166 describe me, and more than a few black men I know, to a tee. As a second-year resident who will marry his equal this May, I can say that neither "self-loathing" nor "white acting," describe us. Successful, however, is quite apt. I will absolutely let you have that one.

Anyway, it’s late, and my insomnia is finally cracking. I’ll look at this later.

by Anonymousreply 17301/27/2015

[quote]What you are referring to is called a straw man, but you are not even using the term correctly.

I'm not trying to decide who other people date. I personally date all races and ethnicities. I find beauty in them all and I have little patience for people who don't. Unlike, people who date exclusively outside of their own race; I don't discriminate. Unlike the people who date exclusively outside of their own race, I don't hate the people who look like me. Hence, the term "self-hating" or "self-loathing".

[quote]I know it's hard for you to accept because you like calling other people racist, but you are the racist here.

You trotted out every ignorant stereotype and bigoted generalization, of which you could think, in order to prove how racist everyone else is. In every paragraph that write you include a new laundry list of reasons why you believe black people to be inferior. Your commentary is beyond offensive and your ignorance is beyond astounding.

by Anonymousreply 17401/27/2015

ugly stuff here

by Anonymousreply 17501/27/2015

r164, why do you try to project femininity and effeminize gay/bi men? IT is okay if you do that to yourself, but projecting it on others is offensive and regressive.

by Anonymousreply 17601/27/2015

[quote] Unlike the people who date exclusively outside of their own race, I don't hate the people who look like me.

These two things have nothing to do with each other though. Being attracted to another race or simply one person of another race, does not mean you hate your own.

Saying this makes you sound bitter that a black guy wanted to date a white guy instead of you and you are insulting him to make yourself feel better.

[quote] You threw out some inane stereotypes as the reason why a "successful" black man would have to date white guys.

Of course I don't think black people are inferior or I wouldn't date them. I'm saying there are other reasons besides skin color why people decide to date who they do. White people are criminals and do drugs, too. You completely missed the point that if a black guy does not do drugs maybe he doesn't want a boyfriend who does drugs no matter what race he is.

Don Lemon dates white guys and complains about the smell of marijuana in the air and he is racist and self-loathing. Why does he have to smoke weed or approve of it just because he is black?

I put the terms "self-loathing" and "white acting" in quotes because these are not things that I say. These are things black men and women who don't like interracial relationships say. No, not every black person, but it's something I've heard and seen a lot over the years. "It's bad enough he's gay, why couldn't he at least date a black guy?" Why does he have to? Why is it your decision?

[quote] I didn't choose to date interracially, but that was simply a personal preference.

lol but if someone else does they are self-loathing? Give me a break. Call me racist all you want but I am the one who dates other races. For me it's not about race but attraction, chemistry, and having things in common.

by Anonymousreply 17701/27/2015

When life gives you Lemons...

by Anonymousreply 17801/27/2015

How can CNN ever top the "Blizzardmobile??"

by Anonymousreply 17901/27/2015

R177 You obviously struggle with reading comprehension so I will keep this as brief as possible. Fucking a few black men does not make you a civil rights leader. No matter what you may claim your dating experience to be; your commentary is beyond offensive and your ignorance is beyond astounding. Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not your ideas are rooted in white supremacy. You are a bigot. Every time you open your mouth. You put your foot in it, revealing what an ignorant bigot you really are.

by Anonymousreply 18001/27/2015

And with his response at R177, he has proved himself to be one supremely dense, clearly confused, and possibly illiterate, homosexual.

I'm done.

by Anonymousreply 18101/27/2015

It's not white supremacy to not want to date a criminal or drug user or someone you have nothing in common with regardless of your race. I wouldn't expect my friends to date a white trash guy on meth just because he's white so that automatically means he must be better than any available black man.

I'm sorry you don't want to admit black people are capable of being racist but look in any thread about Michael Sam or Empire regarding Jussie dating a Latino on DL alone and you will find plenty of proof.

Countless threads all over the internet black people offend interracial relationships: "Oh he done came up and was too good for a black woman." "Oh that white woman is only dating that black professional athlete for his money." "Those hoes will only stick around while you have money." "You only fuck black men because you have a Mandingo fetish." Why is racism ok when it's from black people?

Yes, lots of white people are racist, but do you not see it's BLACK people who associate interracial dating with being too good for black people more than anyone else? It's black people perpetuating these harmful stereotypes.

I never said a successful black man has to date a white/Asian/Latino guy, but it's his choice if he wants to whether he is successful or not. It's racist to say someone has to choose who they date solely based on race and they are self-loathing if they don't do what you say.

Again I'm sorry if the truth hurts but offending anyone based solely on race is racism. I apologize if any of my replies came off strident, I just get sick of the hypocrisy.

by Anonymousreply 18201/27/2015

We need a new CNN thread.

by Anonymousreply 18301/27/2015

The loon @ R182, R177, et al is too stupid to be believed. Constantly repeating himself, apparently unable or unwilling to read what was actually written, and instead choosing to basically argue with himself. I don't even think he's realized yet that he was talking to more than one person. Can't fix stupid that deep.

by Anonymousreply 18401/27/2015

He's got some serious 'grippers' going on down there.

by Anonymousreply 18501/27/2015

Im sure black people here know the more successful you become, the less you run into other black people, and the less you run into other gay people, period. We already are double and triple (if youre a lesbian) minorities, so the chances of us finding a mate that is the same race is not the same as whites or Latinos. It's just statistics.

But some of you say you don't think you'd share interests with other gay black individuals, so you date primarily outside your race. That's perfectly fine. But honestly as black gay men, unless you live in Atlanta or DC, we are so far in between. I doubt we even have the opportunity to meet and socialize with enough guys to even come to those conclusions. It would be more appropriate to say I don't socialize with enough gay black men to have the opportunity to meet and date them.

If you think about how open the dating field is for straight people, that puts our experience in better perspective. Add the closet and homophobia to that, and you see we just don't have big playing field.

by Anonymousreply 18601/27/2015

Why does he HAVE to have a black boyfriend? Sounds like you're pushing your issues onto others to be honest.

by Anonymousreply 18701/27/2015

r187 nobody said he had to. It's just that people can't help but notice most out gay black celebrities have partners outside of their race.

He is attractive and seems "nice" but whoever talks into his ear needs to be fired. I don't know how it works in that business but he has said enough really stupid shit to get appropriately branded an idiot. I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt by suggesting that he is simply poorly "produced". On the other hand, he could be one of those guys who thinks he is smarter than the producer or director and he ignores their suggestions for intelligent comments and questions.

Come on, somebody has the inside scoop. Is he a bonehead or not? When I first started watching, I kept thinking, "Who is this doof filling in at primetime?" When I realized that he has his own show, I was slightly horrified, but I was unable to "look away". Good thing he's attractive.

by Anonymousreply 19001/28/2015

What a joke, driving around in his "Blizzardmobile". White partner, black partner; looks handsome, looks forgettable. Doesn't matter, he just seems dumb as rocks.

by Anonymousreply 19101/28/2015

Don impressed the top brass at NBC years ago which is how he got his start. So he's definitely not dumb. His reporting style is just a little out of place at CNN.

CNN anchors try to be more informative than provocative. Don enjoys ruffling feathers, and he has done this long before he arrived to CNN.

Now that Chris Cuomo guy is dumb.

by Anonymousreply 19201/28/2015

Don has made some gaffes but I'm still glad he's on. Plenty of news anchors are more idiotic than he is.

by Anonymousreply 19301/29/2015

The blizzardmobile thing has really been mocked. Who thought of that

by Anonymousreply 19401/29/2015

Was that Don's idea though? I bet it was CNN telling him to do it.

CNN has been pathetic in recent years with some of their coverage, from this blizzard to the missing Malaysian airlines flight. They're so hungry for ratings they're being idiotic.

by Anonymousreply 19501/29/2015

CNN is going so downhill. They had Don Lemon, who of course is often their main news anchor, covering the fucking vapid Oscars and Oscars red carpet?

How and why did this become so important?

I like Don but it's hard to see him doing both serious news and hobknobbing it with celebs on red carpets.

CNN’s Don Lemon pulled off a rare feat Wednesday night, beating Fox News’ Hannity in the 25-54 demo at 10 p.m. with CNN Tonight. Lemon’s show 203K viewers in the demo, compared to 168K for Sean Hannity and 131K for MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.

The shade thrown at him last night at the White House Reporters dinner was just awful, but the support on Twitter by black people for Cicely Strong's joke was beyond belief.

Don Lemon is a very perceptive journalist who is also unafraid to say his Mom is his best friend. I think people are just jealous because of his handsome looks and ageless complexion.

CNN Tonight also topped Lawrence O’Donnell in total viewers, 539K to 493K, despite the fact that MSNBC beat CNN in primetime, 596K to 534K

[quote]Don seems like a fun-loving guy

He also seems like he has very high-standards for the men he dates, so a lot of you hoes would not make the cut, a la r264.

by Anonymousreply 26507/25/2015

[quote]He also seems like he has very high-standards for the men he dates,

And you came to this conclusion because . . . . . . why? Seems so how?

by Anonymousreply 26607/25/2015

Didn't Don break up with a guy when he discovered he smoked weed?

by Anonymousreply 26707/25/2015

R267 if so I see nothing wrong with that. Only idiots are into drugs. That said, you'd think Don would have known BEFORE dating the guy what kind of shit he was into.

by Anonymousreply 26807/25/2015

Most people would probably prefer not to date someone who has a substance abuse problem. If that indeed was the case; his standards aren't any different than most.

by Anonymousreply 26907/25/2015

R262, I cannot BELIEVE the crap some - OK, most - black people give to Don Lemon both on-air and on Twitter. At least once ever 2 weeks he is pilloried for something he said, or a facial expression he made, which people interpret him as his being anti-black.

My 86 year old Mother always feels sorry for him when I tell her what is said; she says he seems so refined.

by Anonymousreply 27007/25/2015

[quote]I cannot BELIEVE the crap some - OK, most - black people give to Don Lemon both on-air and on Twitter

1. How do you quantify that?

Grief on Twitter? Wow what a tough life he has.

[quote]My 86 year old Mother always feels sorry for him when I tell her what is said; she says he seems so refined.

Understandable. Many people probably confuse the terms refined and retarded. (no offense to the retards here at datalounge)

by Anonymousreply 27107/25/2015

He seems like one tired fuck.

by Anonymousreply 27207/26/2015

by Anonymousreply 28308/11/2015

He has Marc Ecko on right now, who has mad swag

by Anonymousreply 28409/02/2015

Lemon is interviewing James Blake now

by Anonymousreply 28509/12/2015

Wow, Don must have a hard-on under his suit.

by Anonymousreply 28609/12/2015

I don't think Don would get a hard-on for a man like James.

by Anonymousreply 28709/12/2015

James Blake: If I had any form of resistance, I wondered what would have happened.

Don Lemon: You may not even be here.

by Anonymousreply 28809/12/2015

They look really good together, I know James is married but...

by Anonymousreply 28909/12/2015

James is so beautiful

by Anonymousreply 29009/14/2015

He's interviewing Trump right now

by Anonymousreply 29112/09/2015

He looks very hot and masculine with his new Marine haircut.

by Anonymousreply 29201/06/2016

He was drunk new years eve and told Kathy she had a nice rack on live TV. That was funny.

by Anonymousreply 29301/06/2016

The high-top is ok, I think the shaved look is sexier on him though.

I saw him on that Joy Behar show she did from his house. He came across surprisingly silly and shallow.

by Anonymousreply 29501/06/2016

Thanks r295. Apparently he likes masculine guys lol

by Anonymousreply 29906/01/2016

He is Republican, and will be voting for Trump because it is great for his show.

by Anonymousreply 30006/01/2016

Don Lemon being so extra tonight

by Anonymousreply 30107/11/2016

I think he secretly is happy whenever black men are being killed by police because it increases the ratings for his show. Actually, he does a terrible job at hiding his glee.

by Anonymousreply 30207/11/2016

That's an awful thing to say dude

by Anonymousreply 30307/12/2016

Total Oreo--black on the outside and white inside.

by Anonymousreply 30407/12/2016

He's not even black on the outside. Caramel

by Anonymousreply 30507/12/2016

Hmmm

by Anonymousreply 30607/03/2017

Well. Considering all the heated hearsay about Don Lemon, I wouldn't blame him for being cautious. As with all people in the 'public's eye', a false of intimacy or friendship develops between them and audiences. So many comments seem to speak from knowing him...I wonder how many actually do.

My only comment, being a former 'Snow Queen' myself, is I hope for his sake that he will awaken before it is too late. I come from a privileged black bourgeois background, a fourth generation college educated gay black man. Regretfully, my youth frightened me away from black men...thinking they would be inclined to blow the whistle on me and out me...a tragic mistake. Partly, because I wasn't in a city with a large gay black population... I went to Europe first, then to San Francisco. I can only hope that he doesn't make my mistake. Now, I Iive in a city with a large gay black community...it still isn't easy, but there are scores of smart, successful gay black men to pick from...'COMMUNITY' is very important!!

As with any group there are men/people with whom you will have something in common...they will care for you, respect you and not harm you. There are successful, moneyed, black gay men who if given a chance would more than likely make a wonderful life partner for Lemon. Again, I pray he doesn't make my mistake.

I can't tell any of you how many times I compromised myself in the name of homosexuality/ or being gay over seeking a black man. If Lemon is staying clear of black men, I suspect he is acting out of fear.

I'm not against interracial dating in the gay world. I had my share, including a painful crush on a beautiful Dutch, blond flight attendant...someone whose male and Nordic beauty is worshipped. I was never a player, so I only had a few liaisons, I'm unsure what caused me to awaken to the beauty of black men...it may stem from my political sensibilities and concern for the plight of black men in general. I began to look very closely...and that's when I noticed their beauty. For me, I'm hoping it isn't too late, for Lemon I wish the best for him and would encourage him to slow down and look VERY closely at his brethren.

LOL, I always laugh when there's a message that says, " I'm not attracted to or date black men." While some are offended, I am delighted, it gives me greater opportunity...LOL

by Anonymousreply 30707/03/2017

DON Lemon just broke down on air.

@CNN : 👏👏 to Don Lemon for his open letter to #45 and to the widow of Sgt. LaDavid Johnson. It needed to be said.

by Anonymousreply 30810/23/2017

BOom

by Anonymousreply 30910/24/2017

He looks very hot again. Buffer and young looking

by Anonymousreply 31008/29/2018

I have such a crush on him. He makes the news fun. He is so damn cute, wish I could meet him.

by Anonymousreply 31101/04/2019

I love his laugh, I love when somebody makes him break out laughing.

by Anonymousreply 31201/04/2019

I liked his take on the Kevin Hart/Ellen situation.

by Anonymousreply 31301/04/2019

I crack up when he has Michael D'Antonio on there (the author with the white hair/beard) because they always make each other giggle

by Anonymousreply 31401/04/2019

Don Lemon is really in no mood for Chris Cuomo's excuses on Rick Santorum.

"We are not getting anywhere... We got to go because we are not going to agree."

Cuomo: "What’s the solution?"

Lemon: "I got a solution, anyway, not my decision. Thank you, see ya later!"
