RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6
by Anonymous | reply 462 | February 25, 2021 12:35 AM |
Looks amazeballs. Already loving one of the queens:
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 23, 2013 5:18 AM |
I'm not going to do what I did last season by looking into each queens performances onlne to predict how far they will go. That partly ruined the fun. It's better to watch the show with fresh, unbiased eyes. I've only seen a little bit not enough to gauge how talented they are of Courtney Act, Adore Delano, Bianca del Rio and Lganja Estranga before I knew they were on this season. The rest of the cast is new to me.
Milk is cute. His name is the dumbest the show has ever had. It's dumb because it's search engine unfriendly. You are not going to type in Milk in a search engine and get results of him. Drag queens should consider how their names affect search engine results. A name like Jinx Monsoon gets the results you want.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 23, 2013 5:46 AM |
SPOILER-isd ................Rumor has it that a contestant is eliminated in the workroom after they all arrive. That would be interesting .... maybe it's the queen who performs the worst at that first photo challenge (or maybe it's just the one that looks like the biggest hot mess when they arrive).
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 14, 2014 10:10 PM |
Starts FebRUary 24th.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 15, 2014 8:05 AM |
I think Adore is going to be the shady bitchy one. If that WeHo Confidential site is any indication, lots of people hate her.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 15, 2014 5:08 PM |
I'm a bit behind the curve: I'm the last person to realize that Adore Delano is Danny Noriega from American Idol a few years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 15, 2014 5:12 PM |
The trailer for the season looked amazing. I'm made we have to wait til the end of next month to finally see it though.
From the "Meet the Queens" clips, Ben, Kelly, Milk, and Courtney were the stand outs to me.
I liked LaGanja at first, but she answered every sincle question with the same inflection, and it sort of ruined her for me. She had some clever answers, but the repetitive delivery made her seem very coached and forced.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 15, 2014 5:18 PM |
Ben seems like a Jinkx knockoff to me.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 15, 2014 5:26 PM |
Several of the queens are cute as boys this season. It looks like it could be a really good season this year. I also can't believe it's still about six weeks away.
Very RUde.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 15, 2014 6:24 PM |
Some very interesting looks in that preview. Can anyone tell who is the one with the big wings ? The one with the kabuki make up look ? And the one with the big, long lampshade-ey thing ??
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 15, 2014 6:29 PM |
Courtney Act is the one with the wings...
I think she may win. Ru LOVES the fishy queens but they always end up relying solely on their looks (ex. Carmen) but Courtney seems fishy AND smart.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 15, 2014 6:36 PM |
Courtney Act is the one with the wings. Lampshadey thing? The umbrella/rain getup? That's April Carrion.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 15, 2014 6:42 PM |
Thanks R15.... when I watched it again, I realized they were carrying it more like an umbrella, ella, ella ........DUH. Sorry
And the kabuki get up ?? It almost looks like Adore, but I don't think she's that creative.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 15, 2014 6:50 PM |
I think the kabuki look is Gia Gunn.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 15, 2014 6:56 PM |
I think the kabuki queen is Trinity K. Bonnet
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 15, 2014 6:57 PM |
If you want to read through a bunch of show addicts tearing apart through the trailer (some spoilers -- I stop reading as soon as something sounds spoilerish), check out this Reddit thread.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 15, 2014 7:06 PM |
Courtney seems like she could be a serious contender. Ru loves pretty queens, and the audience tends to favor funny queens. It looks like Courtney could be the first one to do both.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 15, 2014 7:18 PM |
I thought the trailer was pretty spoiler-ish as well. At least one of the queens featured has soooo many different looks in the preview, you would expect they make it pretty far (at least to the mid point, if not further)
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 15, 2014 7:22 PM |
Yeah, I only watched it a couple of times because these queens are pretty amazing. The talent bar has been raised. There are no queens here I consider "filler" like Jiggly or Alyssa Summers or Stacey Lynn.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 15, 2014 7:29 PM |
One month to go !!!
"Bring back my girls !"
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 27, 2014 12:35 AM |
CoverGurlz videos w/ Audition tape highlights released! Absolutely in love with Ben and April as boys ;)
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 29, 2014 12:57 PM |
I'm watching the season 6 "Meet The Queens" special I downloaded right now. I imagine it aired on LOGO, but I have to download the episodes so I have no idea. You can probably stream it on LOGO's site if you don't know where to download it. The first real episode is just a little over a week!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 14, 2014 11:16 PM |
Love all the links! Love all the comments! LOVE this show!
Best piece of American television since Tina Louise turned 80!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 14, 2014 11:30 PM |
Bring back our girls .......
Just a week (and a day) away.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 16, 2014 8:58 PM |
Whoo Hoo.... first episode is available online.... right up to the Lip Sync For Your Life.
It's available on Vimeo (bad quality) and Logo online.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 18, 2014 2:32 AM |
You know I thought for sure Willem was going to win her season, being fishy and funny, but she didn't. However, her career eclipses most of the other girls.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 19, 2014 2:18 PM |
Does LOGO have any new shows besides RuPaul?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 19, 2014 2:52 PM |
Saw parts of the first episode on vimeo.
I'm loving Ben De La Creme.
Adore Delano and Gia Gunn are annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 19, 2014 2:53 PM |
Logo has a new show called Ice Queens with a lot of former drag racers on like Willam, Morgan McMichaels and Delta Work. The show premieres tonight and will run for 5 consecutive nights at 9:00 pm.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 20, 2014 7:58 AM |
Very excited for Monday night.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 22, 2014 8:54 PM |
Thanks r32, it's Logo's first ever miniseries, a reenactment of the Tonya/Nancy scandal. It doesn't seem to be available to stream on Logo's site, at least not yet, and I haven't seen it for download, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 23, 2014 7:35 PM |
Season 6 starts tomorrow.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 23, 2014 7:38 PM |
Start your engines! Rupaul's Drag Race starts in 1:30 hours.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 24, 2014 11:30 PM |
Underwhelming contestants. Too many annoying personalities - Laganga is the worst. Hopefully the next seven are more promising.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 25, 2014 2:02 AM |
Oops, Laganja. Sorry I misspelled her name.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 25, 2014 2:04 AM |
Gia's already working my last nerve.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 25, 2014 3:10 AM |
Laganja can be annoying but he's also funny. I got a kick out of him drinking on Untucked. You can tell Alyssa Edwards, his drag mother, influenced him.
Speaking of Alyssa, he's in every other commercial on Logo. Hopefully it is a good sign his show is coming.
I knew Kelly Mantle would be the first to go when he walked in the door. He came off poorly. It was like he didn't care. He did have a good sense of humor.
The show has returned to the editing style of pre-season 5. Although I got used to season 5's editing after the sixth episode this way just feels better.
I'm looking forward to seeing Darienne Lake. From the preview it looks like he's a lot of fun.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 25, 2014 5:36 AM |
Laganja and Gia need to go ASAP. Ben is Jinx 2.0
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 25, 2014 5:46 AM |
Ben is actually a friend of Jinkx's.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 25, 2014 5:50 AM |
How can a Drag Race thread on the Datalounge be THIS DEAD?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 25, 2014 6:35 AM |
I agree with Adam Lambert and have taken an instant dislike to charmless, overcompetitive Gia. Bitch is serving tiger mom realness and I need her removed from my line of sight ASAP.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 25, 2014 7:31 AM |
Gia's gonna be around a while. Way too good a reality show character.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 25, 2014 7:40 AM |
Per usual, the LA drag queens are the meanest, shadiest bitches of the bunch who'll cut a bitch down. Beware of LA drag queens, bitches.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 25, 2014 7:49 AM |
Ready for Gia and Lasagna to go home immediately. Gia is just a cunt, and a dumb one at that. Lasagna is occasionally funny, but she seems so fake and rehearsed.
Genuinely liked everyone else from batch one, even Kelly. She deserved to go home, though. She looked like a fucking mess on the runway.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 25, 2014 7:56 AM |
Gia is Phi Phi rehashed - another underwhelming queen who's a legend in her own mirror
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 25, 2014 1:25 PM |
Gia is hateful. She's pretty fishy - for a cross-eyed microcephalic twat.
Laganja is just obnoxious. She really needs to dial it WAY the fuck down.
And someone needs to tell Adore to SHUT HER DAMN MOUTH - sitting there with it hanging open. Do her gums need that much airing out?!
So far, I really like Ben and I like Vivacious. That Aussie girl next week looks like the realest contestant ever but not sure she has the wit I like in a drag queen (throwing a side eye at Tyra Sanchez)
I am lusting after the new blonde Pit Crew hunk.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 25, 2014 2:27 PM |
The hot mess that is Adore Delano or whatever needs to stick around purely for laughs. She annoyed the shit out of me at first but her gluing her gown to the dress form was comedic gold.
What't the name of the fishy Asian who's also a bitch? She looks real but moves like a graceless ox. Same with the one who kept dropping to the floor (no, that won't get old).
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 25, 2014 3:53 PM |
I remember enjoying Danny Noriega when he was on American Idol. It looks like he decided to do drag ten minutes before filming of Drag Race started. Anything to be on camera, I guess.
I really like Vivacious. I laughed when RuPaul tweeted "I want Ornacia to murder my vagina."
I like Laganja but agree that she needs to tone it down. Hopefully someone will put yippy, yappy Gia in her place.
Yuck, Santino. Can he and Mike Ruiz just find a hole to crawl into?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 25, 2014 4:07 PM |
Mike Ruiz can crawl into my hole
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 25, 2014 4:10 PM |
Santino is a horse's ass, of course, but he looks hot with the shaved head.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 25, 2014 4:11 PM |
The blonde pit crew member is mine!
I knew Danny wasn't ready for the show. He thought he was the greatest thing and couldn't believe he kept getting rejected every season. He was worse two years ago. He had a dramatic improvement over a year ago but has since plateaued.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 25, 2014 4:21 PM |
April Carrion is pretty beautiful, as a girl and as a boy. Adam Lambert seemed pretty smitten to the point that Michelle told him, "You just want to fuck her," and I don't think Michelle was wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 25, 2014 4:21 PM |
Is Santino poz?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 25, 2014 4:29 PM |
Absolutely!
Absolutely!
Absolutely!
Absolutely!
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 25, 2014 4:33 PM |
April Carrion as a boy is the Puerto Rican Johnny Rapid. No wonder Adam wanted to rape him.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 25, 2014 4:34 PM |
Yeah, April Carrion is definitely the hottest boy. Maybe of any season.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 25, 2014 4:36 PM |
I don't know about that. Milk and Magnolia just from this season are both pretty handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 25, 2014 4:58 PM |
Yeah, R60, they're cute too. It's just a personal preference.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 25, 2014 5:13 PM |
I think Ben is pretty cute. I was surprised when he used his real voice.
Not enough Shawn Morales, but I'm loving the other new pit crew member, the one that looks kind of latino.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 25, 2014 5:13 PM |
There were rumours that Santino wouldn't be back for Season 6, and he was left out of most of the previews and promos for the show.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 25, 2014 5:14 PM |
R63 The judges should be replaced. I don't think the show has the heart to do it. Santino's been on every season. Michelle has been on since season three.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 25, 2014 5:27 PM |
I also thought Andy Trinidad (Lineysha Sparx) from Season 5 was a beautiful man. Gorgeous eyes and lips.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 25, 2014 7:47 PM |
I'm actually really sad by the lack of activity on this thread. I went clicking on the Reddit thread and… I liked it. Is the DL really that dead? Come on girls...
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 25, 2014 8:14 PM |
Adore is a bit of a Shangela. She lacks the polish but she has an entertainer's personality. If you watch her Youtube videos, she has that webcam chemistry, which really means something in the world today. Some people make a living -- a good one -- based on their ability to engage a regular audience via webcam monologues. She won't go totally far because the pageant aspect will derail her, but she's young and special.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 25, 2014 8:16 PM |
R66: The show was fun for a while, but the antics of Season 5 turned me right off.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 25, 2014 8:36 PM |
The fat one looks like she could be a lot of fun. I wonder if there's too much prejudice against big girls for her to make it all the way? Divine, of course, is a role model as one greatest drag queens of all time, and he was plus size. But that was long ago, and so far all the Drag Race winners have been thin.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 25, 2014 10:49 PM |
Wait, R51 are you saying that Adore Delano is Danny Noriega? If so I take back everything I said, he's just a reality show whore.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 25, 2014 10:59 PM |
Santino continues to look like he's dying. Not that that's an issue with me.
I LOATHE the Asian. It's the personality. Obviously she had a Tigress Drag Mom smacking her looks and move into shape (although drawing attention to the fact that one is a pinhead always is a risky move), but her mouth and that hyperthyroid-koi facial expression should nail her.
April Carrion (worst drag name for a fishy girl) sure is pretty. But the mince is old already.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 27, 2014 5:43 PM |
Everything about this season premiere was scripted and overproduced. The way they all raced into the workroom to greet the cameras straight ahead before looking off to the side at the other queens was awful. No organic interactions.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 27, 2014 5:50 PM |
[quote]April Carrion (worst drag name for a fishy girl)
At first I wondered why she'd choose a word that means "roadkill," but that's her actual last name.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 27, 2014 6:00 PM |
Cute video from Kelly Mantle about being the first to go:
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 27, 2014 6:20 PM |
I understand, but I doubt you'd see June Lipschitz use that as a drag name just because she wanted to honor her heritage.
But I also understand that the English and the Spanish are different here.
Thanks!
But does anyone see a break-out drag queen in this season, equal to the quality of Sharon Needles and Jinkx Monsoon?
They rather popped out from the start.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 27, 2014 6:41 PM |
I still feel like Courtney Act is going to be the Sharon/Jinkx this year, but that could change. Detox had all the preshow buzz last year, but she couldn't deliver.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 27, 2014 6:51 PM |
[quote] The fat one looks like she could be a lot of fun.
You mean the one featured in the Untucked opening montage, but wasn't in the first group of 7? Yes, she does look interesting, to say the least. I could go back and watch the Meet The Queens special, but I'll just wait until next week.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 27, 2014 6:59 PM |
April Carrion is a pretty boy and a pretty girl. However, and I say this as someone who hates ultra-white teeth, her teeth are too close to yellow for comfort.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 27, 2014 7:11 PM |
I noticed that too, r 78, and I'm not really someone who really cares about teeth, so they must be truly bad.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 27, 2014 7:42 PM |
[quote]But does anyone see a break-out drag queen in this season, equal to the quality of Sharon Needles and Jinkx Monsoon?
I think, as someone on TWOP noted, they introduced the B-team in the first episode and are saving the true contenders for the next episode.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | February 27, 2014 7:51 PM |
I hope next week features a higher standard of older and/or fat queen. The "Carol Burnett" queen embarassed herself with her almost non-performance (though I admit that the "squatting to take a dump" during the lipsync will stay with me for a while...) and despite her entertaining Mary J. Blige vibe on the runway, Vivacious was also underwhelming for the most part.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | February 27, 2014 7:58 PM |
Thanks r74.
OBSESSED with Tammie Brown in that video. Amazing!
by Anonymous | reply 82 | February 27, 2014 8:09 PM |
Not loving this two part premiere. I liked Kelly Mantle and she might've made it to the middle of a group of 14.
Gia is gunning for this season's bad girl role. She won't be able to blame the editing because she is equally insulting to the other queen's faces.
Looks like Laganja is going to be this season's crier.
April and Laganja are the cutest of this group of seven.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | February 27, 2014 11:18 PM |
I hadn't noticed that, R78/R79. Most of the queens have ultra-white, fluorescent teeth (which, unlike in real life, seem to go with much of the drag styles) - Jinkx's mouth was an exception.
Courtney Act doesn't seem to have the edge Sharon and Jinkx have, but she's capable of being gorgeous and she can be funny.
I had lost interest in the show before Season 5, but the last two - with the clash between real pros in the different drag styles - very interesting and entertaining. I keep expecting the production to slip back a little to balance things with the pretty/traditional wing, but we'll see.
Vivacious seems to be more pose than rose. Ornacia was funny but that snap walk is rote and her lip synch wasn't great - it just would have been hard to be worse than poor Kelly Mantle, who seemed to have a lot more going for her but almost seemed like she had sabotaged herself with that hair, outfit and performance.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 28, 2014 12:08 AM |
What did Kelly Mantle have going for her? Not being sarcastic, I just wonder what others might see that I didn't.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 28, 2014 12:14 AM |
I think she was probably pretty funny, r85.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 28, 2014 12:15 AM |
Kelly was really quick-witted and observant. She was one of my favorites from the MTQ interviews. Unfortunately, she didn't really bring anything to the first episode, and she looked terrible on the runway, so I can't say I really blame Ru for sending her home, even though I'd rather get rid of Gia or Lasagna.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 28, 2014 1:15 AM |
I found Kelly to be pretty funny in her interviews and the video linked above is cute.
It's funny , if you're into spoilers (I am), THIS ISN'T A SPOILER NOW ....early predications were that Kelly would be the first to go BASED ON THE LONG PREVIEW because she only appeared one time in the entire thing.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | February 28, 2014 10:04 PM |
[quote]..and she looked terrible on the runway,...
Yeah that wig looked like it came out of the clearance bin.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 28, 2014 10:18 PM |
It did bug me that it's season 6 and still some queens haven't bothered to learn to sew.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 28, 2014 10:29 PM |
Vivacious is sloppy. She has interesting concepts with her fashion and look, but the execution was shit.
She's definitely a legend in her own mind.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 28, 2014 10:45 PM |
Vivacious is NOT a drag queen, she's an ORIGINAL CLUB KID !!! Snort.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 28, 2014 10:51 PM |
I like Vivacious because she brings the club kids aesthetic to the show. I don't think she's pretty enough to win, but I think she'll be a fierce competitor, and an entertaining personality.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 28, 2014 10:54 PM |
I think she'll be a poor substitute for Latrice Royale.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | February 28, 2014 11:01 PM |
R94 wrong comparison - she's a poor substitute for Kevin Aviance
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 28, 2014 11:28 PM |
I don't think she's another Latrice, but I think she'll try to serve a similar function.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 28, 2014 11:44 PM |
She looks like the Ghost of Dida Ritz's Future out of drag.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | February 28, 2014 11:58 PM |
Maybe Vivacious has more to show. But it certainly wasn't evident in the first episode. Screwing up a prop (the zipper issue) in your Big Introduction took care of the first impression, rather undermining the attempted audacity of Ornacia. And I agree with R91 that she was sloppy - the runway costume was bad, the wig mis-placed, the lip synch/dance was mediocre, and the walk (I've already said it) reflexive and rather lazy in its routine snap.
But she automatically gets more focus and attention here because she was in the bottom two - it's not picking on her. Maybe she does have more to show.
Yes, R90 - there's no excuse for not being able to sew. None.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 28, 2014 11:59 PM |
Kelly Mantle gave an interview with Instinct magazine. Link below. He said he isn't an experienced drag queen, he's more of an actor. I looked at his acting demo reels. These shows want drag queens that look messy and are clearly male to the viewers.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | March 1, 2014 12:31 AM |
Santino creeps me out in every way. And Mike Ruiz gets queenier and queenier.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | March 1, 2014 12:44 AM |
Watching it on Logo.com. It's currently 9:50. It started "buffering" at 9:05. In other words, I just spent the last 45 minutes staring at a blank screen hoping to catch a glimpse of some sorry-assed drag queens. And I ain't talking about the contestants.
Good luck to you 1990's losers who still have a TV.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | March 1, 2014 1:56 AM |
[quote] And Mike Ruiz gets queenier and queenier.
No kidding! I think he needs to take a season or two off...it's starting to affect him.
I mean, he looks campy enough in leather drag.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | March 1, 2014 2:30 AM |
R101, try downloading the show, that's how I've always watched it. I've had problems streaming from Logo's site too.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | March 1, 2014 2:38 AM |
I took DragOfficial.com's "Which Rupaul's Drag Race Season 6 Queen Are You?" test. I'm Darienne Lake. Funny I got that result because Darienne personality-wise is the one I like most so far. Link below if you want to take the test.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | March 1, 2014 8:44 PM |
Expect the police, R104, because I named you in the note I left on the open oven door, gas on. My cheek is resting on it.
I took the test you mentioned and ended up as Bianca Del Rio.
So you understand.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | March 1, 2014 9:09 PM |
They have some great writers on this show. Mike Ruiz had a good one in the first episode.
"Everything is better wrapped in bacon. Except Kelly Mantle"

So . . . what did we think about tonight?
by Anonymous | reply 108 | March 4, 2014 2:26 AM |
Watching it now. This second round of queens got off easy in the photo shoot challenge. Jocelyn Fox looks like Sophia from Golden Girls out of drag.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | March 4, 2014 2:51 AM |
The bitch who left was just ugggghhh. At least she was fuckable as a boy.
2 things I love about this show:
- none of that 'I'm straight but I do drag to support my family'
- how the introduction episode makes it look like they're just meeting each other when you know they all got dressed in the same room and have already met.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | March 4, 2014 9:12 AM |
I can't believe after so many years post Project Runway, I'm still seeing Santino Rice on my TV.
Everything about him grosses me out.
As for the second batch of girls, Courtney may be funnier than I thought she could be, and Darrienne has the most beautiful face. I think I like Milk's P.O.V. the best, but they've already had a Raja.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | March 4, 2014 12:57 PM |
I love Tammie Brown.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | March 4, 2014 1:07 PM |
Clearly the second batch is the creme de la creme. Why did they even bother with the first 7?Courtney is going to win.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | March 4, 2014 1:41 PM |
Magnolia was a cute boy but a total mess in drag. And that attitude! Jesus Fucking Christ. Remarkably unpleasant...
Courtney is stunningly fishy. I hope she brings more to the table than her looks, though.
I'm getting a very strong Tyra Sanchez vibe from Trinity Bonet, and that's not a good thing.
Bianca del Rio is about half as funny as she thinks she is. The constant stream of bitchy comments will get real old, real fast.
I'm looking forward to Bianca and Crosseyed Gia trying to out-cunt each other though.

I agree with you, but that is still twice as funny as anyone else there. She is still one of my favorites.
I do think this second group was overall much stronger than the first.

I wasn't that impressed with Courtney Act. She's pretty enough but her body is very boyish and her runway style was underwhelming. She's going to have to up her game.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | March 4, 2014 1:55 PM |
It's interesting just how much stronger the second group was than the first. Planned or chance? hmmmm
Courtney is gorgeous, but we know what happens to the body queens. I'm fascinated to see what Milk does next.

by Anonymous | reply 119 | March 4, 2014 3:00 PM |
Not that I'm an expert, but Courtney will go far, but no way will rupaul let her win. She's already a star and just needs a little American exposure. The rest of the top will probably be Milk, Bianca, Ben de la creme, laganja. There.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | March 4, 2014 3:05 PM |
At first I didn't like how they split them all up but after seeing the second episode I think it's genius. I also love how there is no immunity this season.
I'm Calling Ben De la Creme, Milk, and either Courtney or Bianca as the top 3. Although I read a rumour somewhere that Bianca gets thrown off or quits before the end.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | March 4, 2014 5:58 PM |
The rumor mill is already crazy and way off-base -- WeHo Confidential posted that Bianca went home first and then got called back, Kelly Mantle made the top three, and Gia Gunn died of an overdose.

I'd love to see a WHET special on all of these queens starting at Season 1.

Carrión is a very powerful surname in Puerto Rico.
The Carrión Family run the largest bank in the Caribbean and one of the largest private banks in Latin America. At this point, Richard Carrión is CEO of the bank his grandfather founded. I'm sure New Yorkers have heard of and/or seen Banco Popular.
Sister Camille (I know!) is a well known stage actress. With that legacy, you can see how April, wether or not related to THE Carrións of Puerto Rico, would be more than thrilled to keep her real family name.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | March 4, 2014 9:28 PM |
That sparkly green top and puff puss skirt were abhorrent. She got off easy for them, relatively speaking.
I like Bianco. I don't think she's joylessly bitchy like so many of the entrants can be.
Courtney act looked much better in her arrival outfit than in her runway look. And that skirt thing really drew attention to her boyish hips.
Joslyn (hideous brows as a guy) had a nice ass in that untucked twerking sequence.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | March 4, 2014 9:33 PM |
Of this seven ...
Who the FUCK does Joslyn Fox think she is calling RuPaul "Ruzy-Q' ...... go home.
I really do think Bianca is as funny as she thinks she is. I didn't think I'd like her, but now I want her to go far.
Trinity is pretty humorless to me so far. But she had a really good runway look.
Darienne Lake..... like her enough to see what else she'll bring. But her 'make fun of my fat self first' routine is going to get old fast.
Milk threw me off a bit. I wasn't expecting the judges to go for the beard (Alaska got read for boy play in a challenge. He wasn't even that way on the runway).
Courtney Act is the one that I don't think is as great as SHE thinks she is. She has a lot to prove to me. Seems like another Detox just 'calling it in'.
Magnolia Crawford totally deserved the boot. She was complaining from the time she was in the workroom. Then she sassed the judges. The only things I think she didn't deserve to be read for was her bad nose (it's kind of her thing like Milk's 'subtle' lips and gap tooth) and also all of the queens acting stunned that she said she was there for the exposure. Liars.... they're all there for that. And again Trinity poo pooing saying 'You can say you want to build your brand, blah, blah blah'. Don't take your drag so seriously Miss Kardashian Bonet !

I thought the cutest contestant of this season was shown in the first episode (the PuertoRican boy) but they sure saved the best for last. Milk is such a handsome man (and the fact that he is a little effeminate makes him hotter IMO).

Bianca is the one to beat.
A comedy queen with serious experience designing costumes. It's a dangerously strong combo in Drag Race. She'll kill at Snatch Game and she won't get tripped up with the dress design challenges. Other queens who are only strong in one or the other will fail.

R131: There is a rumour/spoiler that, during the reading challenge, Bianca took it too far - and Ru called her out for it. Ru also brought it up during the judges' critiques, but Bianca defended her style of humour - and it escalated into a screaming match with Bianca walking out.

She's not that good of an actress, R139. And damn she's irritating.
I predict a horrible Snatch Game this season with this bunch.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | March 11, 2014 10:22 AM |
So the Carol Channing "I don't remember eating corn" thing came up again on the show, this time on the Untucked episode. Didn't it originate on DL? If so, it's proof Ru reads DL (hi Ru!)
Did anyone else illegally download Ru's new album? Turns out he flooded the torrent sites with a decoy copy, all the songs start with the real song and then Ru cuts in and starts talking, trying to talk people into buying the album on iTunes. Fans might be interested in the decoy version to hear his monologues.
I wasn't sad to see Vivacious go, even if I'm not sure she lost the lipsynch. Love her style, and she's a good dancer, but overall she's lacking. And so sullen.
Darienne Lake impressed me again this week, I think she'll go far, maybe the first fatty in the final 3.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | March 11, 2014 3:28 PM |
Get out more r139, stupidity and intelligence can be found knows no racial boundaries.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | March 11, 2014 6:46 PM |
At first I thought they were going out of their way to make Vivacious look tired, slow and past it, but apparently it wasn't all editing. I'm glad April (even though her yellow teeth are distracting) stayed - her lip synch was interesting.
Bianca is professional in a commercial-looking way. Gorgeous costumes and repetitious clown drag plus the second-rate "quickness" are getting old already. Maybe she'll crack the shell and get human.
Miss Lake won seemed like a pity prize - she looked horrible. Like they didn't want to give the award to pretty-and-perfect, since it was the queens supposedly doing their "last appearance of the show" capper, and several were conventionally smashing, like you'd expect.
Gia is very funny (She may be stupid in her own way but she's also the sliciest bitch there.) but lacks a personality that would ever win the show. She turned off the judges with her first appearance.
The Adore Delano love with the panel doesn't make sense to me. Unless there's an arc of maturation being built into the show, with RuPaul wanting the connect the show with the (passe) splash of Idol (and such mainstream connections didn't quite work for the suicidal Willam), I can't see that baby-doll infantilism going far.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | March 12, 2014 12:12 AM |

You must not watch many reality shows.
Final 3, guaranteed. Courtney Act as well.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | March 12, 2014 12:36 AM |
But let's get to the Shape of Things to Come. Look at the last two winners, who represent a shift in the show's focus (after all the critical complaints about the beauty queens winning).
BeBe, Tyra and Raja all pretty much fell into the somewhat narrow fishy queen drag category, although that category also happened (happens?) also to be the most elite segment of the business, at large.
Then RuPaul and company decided to ratchet things up by expecting more for the show and from the winners. They looked for personalities that stood to the side but that also could take on the fishy role when called on (whatever Sharon's rebellions).
Both Sharon and Jinx had performance talents, intelligence, good theatrical sense and extremely strong drag personas that could show through even when they adopted a more traditional look. Both stood for something definite, and both remained recognizably themselves no matter what. And they both had appealing back stories - Sharon could be pointed but didn't come across as a bitch.
Dumb or bitchy never would win on the show, ever. (Phi Phi? Roxxxy? Look like a mean girl and no matter how many wigs you can shed or how many sequins you sew you're not going to win. Alyssa? Look out of touch with basic history or cultural lore and you're not going to win.) And lack of range won't win, either.
Based on these facts (and assuming RuPaul isn't going retrograde on the show's emergent model), we can forget about April, Darienne, Gia, Trinity.
BenDeLaCreme has good points but seems one-note so far.
Bianca's professional chops are one thing; her not-funny-not-quirky zingers are being played to make her look like a bitch, and in the first two episodes she's refusing to show flexibility with the clown drag. I can't see Adore going too far, whatever the impetus behind the judges' respect, because she is too stupid and lacks depth and variety.
That leaves Courtney, Joslyn, Laganja and Milk. Courtney is a real pro, is smart, is funny and arch without seeming like a bitch, and is as fishy as they get. But she's also too well known, probably, and may lack the ability to push out of the pretty-pretty mode. Laganja is irritating and has behaved stupidly, but they might be pacing her. She has range. Milk is vanilla-daring, but appealing. And Joslyn likely is the dark horse/surprise - quirky, self-contained, not a bitch, at least a little smarter than she puts on, and has dexterity with her presentations. But she echoes Jinkx a bit too much - like a low-grade copy, lacking the keen insight (probably - they're holding her back a bit, so far).
So for the win I wouldn't be surprised by Milk or Joslyn winning, with Courtney and Laganja standing there waiting for a slip-up. And BenDeLaCreme just might come from behind.

by Anonymous | reply 150 | March 12, 2014 2:03 AM |
No way will Darienne win. His runway looks are pitiful.
As for dumb having no chance of winning, Tyra Sanchez wasn't exactly dumb but she wasn't smart, funny, witty etc.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | March 12, 2014 2:11 AM |
I think R145's post is great until he dismisses Adore. (Disclaimer: I am not a fanbot. Promise.) I was ready to write Adore off as a Shangela, and I think she has a lot of similar strengths -- not the same, but what I would call a Youtube generation's version of an entertainer's personality. So far, she hasn't crashed, she's getting a lot of attention with the edit, and she's having a narrative crafted about her, especially by Ru. "She's good, but young and needs to do X, Y, Z." The carpet is rolled out for her to join that narrative, improve those things, and impress / be a contender. They have done it before. Jinx needed to tone down the camp and show she could do glamor. She did it. Boom, contender. Etc.
Also remember Adore was the #1 online fan pick last year for the "pick a contestant" contest. But the producers of the show went with the runner-up. Hmm. At the very least, she was on their radar. But maybe were they grooming her for the next season? She had only had, at that point, a few months experience in drag. But she had the AI connection and an ability to summon online fans to support her.
I don't know, I'm just saying, pay attention to her.
I think Milk is not going to survive long, as much as I want to like her, and I think Courtney is as close to a lock for Top 3 as there is. I would also look for Gia to stick around for a while as she is reality show gold.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | March 12, 2014 2:31 AM |
Courtney hasn't been terribly exciting so far.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | March 12, 2014 2:40 AM |
R144/R152, you could very well be right.
But she'll have to really step up, because so far Adore has been calf-eyed, weepy, whiny, and rather dull. My dismissal comes from an assumption that the show wants someone smart and with-it, and I do think there's more to Adore than they've been choosing to show.
They don't always do it, but there is some manipulation of contestants' presentation to give the illusion (or maybe convey the fact of) growth over the course of the show. "Crafting the narrative," as you say. And they're really pushing her so far, because they're talking about potential that hasn't been quite evident.
But I keep seeing that dumb look, mouth agape, and wondering.
I certainly don't think you're a fanbot just because you make cogent and smart comments. That's the opposite.
To be honest, I disliked Milk's first runway costume - she looked like a parade float figure that wasn't put together very well, and the garment looked as messed as Vivacious', to me. And the beard was perverse and didn't mean anything except "I'm sticking this on because I'm zany and artsy." Which it wasn't. With that said, I see more of a personal style, sense of persona and craft in the other costumes, and a personality that fits my expectation of what the show is looking for.
And that takes me back to Adore, whose immaturity and coming across at times like a little shit REALLY is going to need to narrative crafting to carry your sensible points. If she doesn't pick it up, she's not going to be a fan favorite much longer, and RuPaul counts perceived popularity as a criterion. Not that she's going to be pressured about anything.
Oh - R151, agreed, but the criteria have been retooled and Tyra wouldn't win now, no way, no how.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | March 12, 2014 3:06 AM |
Adore and Courtney will be in the top three. You can tell that just from looking at the trailer and Untucked opening. They both have eight or nine looks shown. Far more than anyone else. The only question is who will be with them.

I find Bianca really grating. She's a cliché of a sassy drag queen circa 1996. I do hope for some bitchery between her and Gia, though.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | March 12, 2014 6:03 AM |
I like Bianca (Roy). Last year, when I first saw him perform I was turned off. He's very harsh. Watching the show I realized he has a gift for insult comedy. I did feel a little bad for Trinity because he couldn't match jabs with Bianca. Bianca poured water on Gia's fire. Gia was different in the last episode from the first.
Darianne did a great job with the small role he had. I laughed so hard. BenDeLaCrème was also very good.
I felt Adore and Vivacious should have lip synched. Adore was flat. He should have nailed the role since that's his style of drag. Vivacious took Ru and Michelle's advice so badly. April did a good job. He conveyed butch lesbian to me.
I don't like when drag queens don't use hip pads. Men have narrow hips. He didn't wear hip pads and it totally ruined the illusion in the last episode.

My biggest issue with Bianca is the actual drag. For someone who's supposed to be such an amazing seamstress, it looks like she just makes the same dress over and over again out of different fabric. No wonder Ru loves it... that's exactly what she does too.

Well, R155 is using evidence-based hypothesis building, certainly. And I wouldn't be surprised. So it's a smart-independent-"artistic" queen in the third position, with that round-up. Because Adore can't deliver smart and Courtney is anything but independently artistic (although polished). She's pure polish and pass.

The amount of bronzer they're using on Santino this season is very distracting.
I feel bad about the poor showing by the older queens this year. Though in Vivacious' case, I have my doubts that's he's even a drag queen. Mistakenly booked club "kid" more like.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | March 12, 2014 6:58 PM |

Milk was very good in the acting challenge, so, he's got a bit more depth than his outrageous looks. I like that bitch.
Also love Bianca -- she is what Gia wants to be (with the shady, bitchy quips) but Gia lacks a sense of humor and that makes her come across as insecure and defensive rather than witty.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | March 12, 2014 7:20 PM |
I want Gia to stay on for a long time as long as there's more of her diary ignorance (e.g. throwing "shade" about the other team's movie being in black and white when it was set in the '60s...)
by Anonymous | reply 173 | March 12, 2014 7:26 PM |

R177, since the show Willam has parlayed things to one of the better drag career, sure. I just meant that he committed "career suicide" on RuPaul's Drag Race - not the best way to phrase it, sorry. More like "committed the sex act that got him thrown off the show."
Who knows how far she would have gone otherwise?
by Anonymous | reply 179 | March 12, 2014 8:15 PM |
SPOILER-ish.
I found a fan made chart of all looks seen in the trailers, the Untucked opening, and shown in the episodes so far. It doesn't necessarily mean that someone is in the top 3 or out early. They could just not being showing too many of their looks... but it gives a good idea of who might be out early and who you'll be seeing for a while.

I'm also surprised by the 'pass' that Adore is getting thus far. Thus far she's been like this season's Serena Cha Cha. She deserved bottom two this go around. She was the group leader who admitted she just pointed and assigned out roles, her runway look was kind of busted, and Ru called her out for not being prepared for the challenge .. but she managed to get her performance together)
Milk won't be able to push his offbeat looks for long. This isn't America's Next Top Clown ... He's unusual and his looks are 'interesting', but he needs to start doing more 'authentic' drag or the judges will cll him on it.
Courtney *has* failed to impress so far. Pretty queen, but not much more gor me.
Trinity is this seson's Debbie Downer ... always the sourpuss.
Gia is just this season's Phi Phi O'Hara...but she won't go as far (but why does Gia seem much 'nicer' in the Untucked lounges ?
Sorry, but I am liking Bianca a lot. It will be interesting to see her lip sync for her life, because she strikes me more as the MC/host type.
Ben and Laganja weren't 'stand outs' for me in this episode.
And I thought it was odd that Darienne was horrified about kai-kai'ing with a queen in this Untucked, but she talked last time about loving getting porked in drag herself.

Trinity puts a new spin on the term fishy.

If ANYBODY is gonna get " porked" it is Darienne !

SPOILER: This image is based on the number of different outfits the queens are wearing in the opening/promos. The idea is: the more different outfits shown - the longer the queen lasts.
Adore has the most different outfits.
Courtney and Ben have the second highest number of different outfits. Laganja is fourth.
Darrien, Trinity and Joslyn are tied for fifth.
Milk and Gia tied for eighth.
Looks like April goes home next, followed by Bianca.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | March 12, 2014 11:31 PM |
I would not be surprised if the final 3 are Courtney, Ben, and Adore. Then you've got your funny girl, your pretty girl, and whatever Adore is.
I feel sort of bad for Ben. It's a shame that Jinkx won last year because Ben is basically Jinkx, but more polished.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | March 12, 2014 11:59 PM |
[quote]I'm also surprised by the 'pass' that Adore is getting thus far
Agreed. I really don't get the Adore love at all, they purposely set up her redemption storyline by having Ru talk about how "she has so much potential if she just does x,y and z" and the fact she is likely to be in the competition til the end annoys me at this point.
If Bianca really goes that early it would be a mistake, but I don't believe it. Not showing one contestant doesn't prove they were eliminated that early.
by Anonymous | reply 199 | March 13, 2014 12:00 AM |
Well, Ben won't get read by Michelle as much as Jinx was because of his stunning... visage.
by Anonymous | reply 200 | March 13, 2014 12:02 AM |
Where do these contestants sleep? You'd think they'd do like Top Model and show them at home - that kind of drama would be fantastic. Maybe the show doesn't have the budget for that, though.
And six seasons in I still can't stand the lighting on this show. It's like the Gaussian Blur is used on the judging panel. (But maybe we don't want to see Michelle Visage clear in HD)
Adore IS Miley Cyrus.
But what is this about her winning the fan vote but not getting on the show? That sounds illegal, unless it was Adore who couldn't do it.
by Anonymous | reply 201 | March 13, 2014 12:25 AM |
IIRC we've seen them "waking up" in their hotel rooms, brushing their teeth etc.

[quote]And six seasons in I still can't stand the lighting on this show.
While watching this week's episode, I wondered if the judges are shooting in front of a green screen?
Ru had a glow around her that made her look like Olivia Newton-John in Xanadu.
by Anonymous | reply 203 | March 13, 2014 12:29 AM |
Have they ever taken the contestants to an actual club and perform for an actual audience???
by Anonymous | reply 204 | March 13, 2014 12:31 AM |
Raja won because he was friends with Ru..
by Anonymous | reply 205 | March 13, 2014 12:32 AM |
They must have a mutual hate of Tyra Bank.
by Anonymous | reply 206 | March 13, 2014 12:35 AM |
I remember a club scene. Didn't they have to do comedy or do a parody strip or something?
by Anonymous | reply 207 | March 13, 2014 12:41 AM |
R207, they should do more of that. The show can be rather claustrophobic.
Is Drag U worth watching?
by Anonymous | reply 208 | March 13, 2014 12:49 AM |
They've gone to clubs and outside before. In season two, they went to a club to do burlesque. In season four, they had a wet t-shirt contest. In All-Stars, they did a bunch of things outside the studio like perform at a restaurant and comedy club.
by Anonymous | reply 209 | March 13, 2014 12:51 AM |
Season 2. They had to do some strip routine and get money. Raven and Nicole Paige Brooks from Atlanta Georgia landed in the bottom 2. Even Mystique Summers Maddison got more tips.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | March 13, 2014 12:53 AM |
Adore is totally original and has personality for days. She is the next generation of queen It is obvious that she has it, which is why she will be the final three.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | March 13, 2014 12:56 AM |
Has what?! I don't get what this talent is I am supposed to be seeing.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | March 13, 2014 12:59 AM |
I was just wondering that, R201. I get that the show's concept is workroom to studio to runway to lounge (with only a very rare outing, such as their going through the garbage at the rundown zombie hole), but where DO they stay? And are they roommated, two by two, in motel rooms somewhere.
There has never been a whisper about it, and they all stroll in as individuals, which of course is just staging because you know they're vanned in together for each shooting day.
I'm back to holding my nose over favoritism for Adore - and for dear, talented Courtney, too. It's one thing for queens in the business - and some known locally or even to the broader circuit - to compete, but picking people who have been on an Idol season seems off-balance. You can feel a difference in their treatment.
Raja always bored me, and felt like a downer. I didn't know she was a friend of Ru.
by Anonymous | reply 213 | March 13, 2014 1:03 AM |
They went to a strip club and had to make it rain and they also did a roast of Ru before an audience.
by Anonymous | reply 214 | March 13, 2014 1:09 AM |
Yeah, Raja is a friend of Ru but the only competition she had that season was Manila. Those two were heads and shoulders above the rest of the girls.
by Anonymous | reply 215 | March 13, 2014 1:13 AM |
Raja has real style, knows fashion, very bright. She will be around for many years.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | March 13, 2014 1:15 AM |
I think the final three will be Adore, Courtney Act, and Bianca del Rio.
by Anonymous | reply 217 | March 13, 2014 1:25 AM |
R212 - I don't see the talent OR personality. She sounds like a complete idiot. Yes, apparently she can sing. That's a bonus, but not really what people look to drag queens for.

by Anonymous | reply 219 | March 13, 2014 1:35 AM |
My final three, Courtney, Adore and Milk. With Adore winning it all. People are calling her the future of drag.
by Anonymous | reply 220 | March 13, 2014 1:46 AM |
Manila posted some "vlogs" she made in the hotel where they had to stay of season three. They're on her Youtube page if you're interested in some behind the scenes sort of stuff.
Raja was great on the runway, but I still think Manila should have won that season. She's a much better entertainer than Raja is.
by Anonymous | reply 221 | March 13, 2014 1:47 AM |
Adore is the one with the bright red hair? The one that looked bored-to-death being there?
Omg, say she is not one of the favorites!??
I like Bianca as well. Sharp tongue, always with a comeback.
Beautiful dimples.
by Anonymous | reply 222 | March 13, 2014 1:57 AM |
They stay in a hotel in Culver City, near the stage where they shoot, if I remember correctly.
by Anonymous | reply 223 | March 13, 2014 2:03 AM |
I didn't dislike Raja. I just found her boring and sad. No "pop." Yes, very professional and decent and knew her stuff. Just not versatile. I can see she's developed since the show.
It's a matter of taste. Watching a faux woman isn't enough for me. Momentary dazzlement is fine - Roxxy was stunning plenty of times. But there was no substance conveyed. Drag as veneer has a long tradition.
The running style commentary and cultural referencing, versatility and frequent brilliance of Sharon, Alaska and Jinkx (and occasionally Detox) are in a different universe than Raja and Manila.
And it's hard to see among this group who delivers that - there's a feeling of superficiality to all of them, so far, as talented and experienced and promising as some are.
by Anonymous | reply 224 | March 13, 2014 2:52 AM |
I met Alaska at a gay bar in LA a couple of weeks ago. I think she was hired to do one song and generally to socialize. She was super fun, accessible, and magnetic.
by Anonymous | reply 225 | March 13, 2014 2:59 AM |
The thing about Raja is that she gave magnificent runway. Season 2 choice as a winner was a dud IMO, either Raven or Jujubee should have been the winner.

by Anonymous | reply 227 | March 13, 2014 3:17 AM |
Check the link if you want to know an "educated" elimination order prediction.
It's based on how many outfits the queens were shown in.
One very surprising front-runner will be out within the next 3 eps which if true, totally turns me off as it's my favorite queen. Seems like a "shocking" Willam-esque elimination is coming up. :(
by Anonymous | reply 228 | March 13, 2014 1:07 PM |
I like Raja - she was (is) smart and was always perfectly turned out on the runway. But I would have given Manila the edge, because Manila shows a lot more humor, and I like a gal who's funny and clever.
I do NOT get the love R211 has for Adore. Her appeal escapes me and I would be surprised if she makes the top 5 or 6.
Much as I hate Gia, she'll stick around - she's good drama and the show loves to keep the villains around.
by Anonymous | reply 229 | March 13, 2014 1:36 PM |
Perhaps I'm misremembering, but it seemed that if in doubt, Manila crossed her eyes for her comedy. It was like Detox's jaw shake. Hacky.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | March 13, 2014 1:40 PM |
R230, that's fair, but Manila didn't cross her eyes every time - whereas (IIRC) Detox did that jaw thing in every lip synch.
by Anonymous | reply 231 | March 13, 2014 1:46 PM |
I only remember Manila crossing her eyes once during season three (the MacArthur Park lip sync). She did it several times during All Stars, but that was after Michelle Visage claimed her make up made her look crossed eyed. My favorite thing about Manila was that she was able to make her drag fashionable and campy at the same time. That's a very fine line to walk.
I can almost see why someone would like Adore. I find her confessionals enjoyable. She's got a wit and knows how to deliver a joke. She's also got a very distinct visual style. But her actual drag is so sloppy and she's been underwhelming in challenges. I could see her being a big name someday, but she's someone who really needs RuPaul's School for Girls before she gets there.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | March 13, 2014 2:19 PM |
Is Adore the one who said she only brought 4 outfits?
by Anonymous | reply 233 | March 13, 2014 5:37 PM |
For weekly commentary, I really have gotten to like Joseph Harwood. Who is gorgeous to boot, whatever he calls his various and amazing looks. (No, I'm not shilling - hadn't seen his videos before, but he's great on makeup.)

by Anonymous | reply 235 | March 13, 2014 7:02 PM |
I like Milk a lot, R172. She's probably my favorite. She looks like a 1960s handmade wooden puppet to me (and I somehow mean that as a compliment). But her acting was not good in the last challenge and she was rightly called out for it in the runway critique.
by Anonymous | reply 236 | March 13, 2014 7:06 PM |
Milk is the best looking man.
by Anonymous | reply 237 | March 13, 2014 7:12 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 239 | March 13, 2014 7:19 PM |
Milk's ass and thighs looked goooddd on the last runway.
by Anonymous | reply 240 | March 13, 2014 7:37 PM |
Adore is a white Shangela. Extremely rough around the edges but has that IT personality for drag. Plus, in the previews she was shown in lots of different costumes so she's making top 6 at least.
by Anonymous | reply 241 | March 13, 2014 8:21 PM |
But the "Number of Costumes" criteria for winners show Adore, Courtney and DeLa with the most.
So if they're going to go with pop popularity (the former two) to try to get some momentum going with other and new audiences, fine. Adore (after watching again) has been such a little shit that the arc they're developing had better be a big one, if they think a win isn't going to look like a pre-determined cash decision. Courtney is rather amazing, giving the prize to her will look like handing someone a second Oscar. It's a so-what thing.
If Bianca's the one getting tossed (the rumors are planted and they're often wrong) because of a hissy fit with the judges, as has been suggested, she didn't let on in interviews. Also, even those rumors have suggested that she comes back on.
I think it's too bad that Gia, Angel and Trinity all have great potential (I know Gia's a dumb bitch, but she's funny. And Angel has yellow teeth and they're trying to make her out to be a boi, but the teeth whiten and she's a good performer, as the lip synch showed. And Trinity has had stunning runway looks, even if she's a tiny bit simple at times. There's sincerity there.
This is a good group, really. As was Season 4.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | March 13, 2014 9:07 PM |
Excuse me. I meant Season 5. Four had its pluses but not so many.

Raven should have won season 2 AND All-Stars. Chad Michaels is so creepy looking.
by Anonymous | reply 245 | March 13, 2014 9:49 PM |
Not to mention Chad was such a cunty grand dame during All Stars. It really ruined any appeal he had in my eyes. Personally, I thought of him as the All Stars villain.
by Anonymous | reply 246 | March 13, 2014 9:53 PM |
People are so gullible. You don't think the producers know what they're doing with editing and the "showing of all the outfits?" I wouldn't look into that as a for sure thing on who goes home and who lasts. There are plenty episodes where multiple looks are needed in just one episode anyways.
"I don't remember eating corn" is a lady bunny thing, not a DL thing. Lady Bunny is a mentor to Bianca del Rio.
Raja is not a "friend" of Rupaul anymore than other drag performers who have been around and know each other. That was a false story written by Perez H. Raja won because she was the best, hands down. She even proved herself in a lip sync battle for the ages.
Living for Adore, Ben, Milk, LaGanja, Bianca.
I think Courtney is ok. No way she'll win. She doesn't "need" to win.
by Anonymous | reply 247 | March 14, 2014 1:26 AM |
Calling Adore the white Shangela is a compliment. You can say whatever you want about Shangela, but out of all the queens on RDR, Shangela is the only way with crossover and mainstream success. Where's that bitch Raja?
by Anonymous | reply 248 | March 14, 2014 1:39 AM |
lol I remember watching Shangela on Dance Moms teaching little girls the death drop.
by Anonymous | reply 249 | March 14, 2014 3:17 AM |
Here's how stupid I am.
I just realized for the first time that "Sharon Needles" is a take on "Sharin' Needles."
by Anonymous | reply 250 | March 14, 2014 1:14 PM |
lol - it may have been pushed by Perez, but Raja and Ru have known each other for years before he showed up on RPDR. Raja is/was a make up artist for Tyra and has been on ANTM for years..has worked as a professional make-up artist and done RU on several occasions.
A lot of the other performers that season were puzzled because Raja never presented drag looks, as often pointed out he looked like a man in a dress, you were never convinced he was a woman or feminine at all.
by Anonymous | reply 251 | March 14, 2014 1:46 PM |
I'm obsessed with RPDR S6. Officially! There are few moments when any of the contestants are compelling beyond the confines of the show. I don't especially like Adore's drag, but she's often the most compelling. She'll get new outfits and wigs, she'll learn to cinch and pad. She's good for the show because of AI. DeLa's drag is impeccable, and she's a talented performer, but she hasn't shined through it. Courtney is amazing, I don't see her winning.
Of the lesser queens, Bianca's act works, but this is not RuPaul's Clown Show. Darienne can be funny, but her humor is often dated. I love LaGanja but she's needs to develop her character. Milk, strangely, is pretty one-note. Gia Gunn is cunt, I find her bitchery funny, but she hasn't impressed me much with her looks. I like Trinity, I find her interview answers funny, she will be more self-aware after the show airs. Joslyn has her moments. April gives good face, and I like her originality, but needs to develop.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | March 14, 2014 1:59 PM |
April is way more developed than Adore. None of Adore's looks seem to be very well thought out. Plus, she just doesn't seem to be very bright.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | March 14, 2014 2:06 PM |
Mariah's departing message on the mirror ("Congradulations Raja") was clearly about Raja and Ru's friendship, and the fact it was not a fair competition.
by Anonymous | reply 254 | March 14, 2014 2:18 PM |
I think a lot of the haters on here are going to just have to accept the fact that Adore is the clearly the breakout star of the season. Yes, he's young and needs some polish, but he clearly has "it". I like Courtney as well, but for different reasons. Adore just bursts off the screen and makes you take notice. That bitch is going far.
by Anonymous | reply 255 | March 14, 2014 2:23 PM |
What is the "it" that Adore has? The ability to breathe through her mouth, or to look vacant?
by Anonymous | reply 256 | March 14, 2014 3:36 PM |
Danny Noreiga's mother is on DL I see.
by Anonymous | reply 257 | March 14, 2014 4:18 PM |
Having "it" and acting like an "it" are two different things.
If she starts to pull it together in an orchestrated way, I'll be able to stomach her success. Mainly because I'm not strong on any of them the way I was with Sharon, Alaska and Jinkx.
RuPaul has never been stupid enough to make the results look professionally indefensible. I hope this isn't the start.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | March 14, 2014 4:22 PM |
I expected to hate Adore Delano, simply for the fact he had appeared on AI before. I thought he was just a fame-whore chasing any attempt to get on TV.
But I have to admit, I have found him to be very likeable. Not just on Drag Race, but his other clips online as well. He isn't a great drag queen - yet - but he does have the proverbial charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.
by Anonymous | reply 259 | March 14, 2014 4:23 PM |
And R255 was trolling. Obviously.
by Anonymous | reply 260 | March 14, 2014 4:23 PM |
Why do you think I was trolling? Adore has that certain something. I'm sorry that you don't see it, but it's there. She will go far. I'm sorry that you don't like her, but when she gets a little more polished, she will be a force.
by Anonymous | reply 261 | March 14, 2014 4:31 PM |
I thought you were obviously trolling because your post sounded so perfectly constructed as a self-conscious joke. You can't see it because, well, apparently it turns out that that's how your mind works. You know - seeing things that aren't necessarily apparent to a detached observer either because you have amazingly sensitive perceptions or because of something else that I won't attempt to detail.
At R258 I noted that if there's a staging going on they'll need to get it started, and maybe it will be convincing. Otherwise the "it" you refer to has so far displayed (1) bad makeup, (2) whininess, (3) sensitivity, if not cruelty, towards other contestants, (4) ineptitude, (5) unprofessionalism, and (6) plain stupidity.
If it turns out that RuPaul enjoys those characteristics as much as you do, which seems quite possible, I'll applaud your capacity to anticipate the further degradations of entertainment standards. But I won't applaud your being pleased about it.

Season 4 question: Willam got kicked off for breaking the rules, and then the very next episode they announce that they will bring someone back and Willam is included in the list of candidates. First of all, I thought that it was weird that she would be considered since she wasn't eliminated but disqualified. But seeing that she WAS being considered, why exactly did they not bring her back? It seems like the most fair choice, since she actually got cut on a challenge she won and she'd made it further than the other eliminated girls.
Instead they brought back that midget and cut her the very same episode.
by Anonymous | reply 263 | March 15, 2014 3:32 AM |
Well, it seems retrospectively dumb since Willam is one of the biggest drag names out there. Also the fact that they cut her from All Stars.
by Anonymous | reply 264 | March 15, 2014 3:34 AM |
They cut her from All-Stars? Who replaced her?
by Anonymous | reply 265 | March 15, 2014 3:36 AM |
I think she was one of the backups that are always cast on reality shows, in case someone has to drop out. But apparently they didn't let her know she was only an alternate. She quit some important gig or something for the show and then was pissed as hell about not getting on. That's what her Rupologize song was about.
by Anonymous | reply 266 | March 15, 2014 3:52 AM |
That's messed up especially considering how weak the AS cast was.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | March 15, 2014 3:54 AM |
Adore is the Mexican Shangela.
by Anonymous | reply 268 | March 15, 2014 3:58 AM |
The AS cast was mainly fucked because of the teams, and the fact that they let them pick their own partner. Every pair but Rujubee had a vastly stronger partner (Pandora, Nina, Manila, Yara, Chad)which made the eliminations seem random.
If it had been a full season with those twelve queens, or at least if production had paired the filler queens with other filler queens, it would have been fine.
by Anonymous | reply 269 | March 15, 2014 4:00 AM |
The team thing was really dumb, but the way they chose the partners was really the fairest way possible.
They really should have done an entire season, but I guess they didn't have the budget.
With Raven not winning, the All-Stars season should just be deleted. What a fucking mess.
by Anonymous | reply 270 | March 15, 2014 4:18 AM |
Speaking of Willam, I don't understand the explanation for her disqualification. On the reunion, she said that the contestants aren't allowed to tell anyone that they are on the show. Ru sat there nodding her head. But that can't be true, because we saw contestants phone home and refer to the competition. We also saw Sharon speaking to Ru about how Alaska was jealous that Sharon made it on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 271 | March 15, 2014 6:56 AM |
Willam didn't just tell, though. He had his boyfriend (husband/partner?)come to the hotel where the contestants have to stay.
by Anonymous | reply 272 | March 15, 2014 7:23 AM |
And Willam said he was trying to get kicked off in order to be memorable because he knew he wasn't going to win anyway. He said he felt like Sharon was obviously going to be the winner.
by Anonymous | reply 273 | March 15, 2014 7:25 AM |
I understand that. I'm not asking about the merits of his disqualification. But his explanation, that Ru agreed with, can't be true.
by Anonymous | reply 274 | March 15, 2014 7:26 AM |
After hearing the set-up, I just skipped the All-Stars episodes. It was rotten from the get-go. And the kissy-kiss to Chad (who I don't mind but let's face it - she is sooooooo sad) proved it would have been a waste of time to bother about.
by Anonymous | reply 275 | March 15, 2014 9:24 PM |
I'm chiming in as another Adore fan. Maybe not fan, but supporter, anyway.
I remember liking him when he was on Idol as Danny Noriega. I didn't remember much else about him and had to look it up, but he made the Top 16 in the season before Adam Lambert.
I think he's just got a natural charisma about him, and he's also a natural on camera. I agree that he's kind of whiny and bitchy, but I think every gay guy knew someone like that in high school/early 20s (or were someone like that). They were bitchy, but also kind of fun at the same time.
Anyway, just to be clear, none of this has to do with sexual attraction on my part (I'm married to a bear). I also think he's an awful drag queen at this point. Maybe more lazy than awful.

by Anonymous | reply 277 | March 15, 2014 10:26 PM |
R277: I guess more sewing challenges, though Adore can't sew...
by Anonymous | reply 278 | March 15, 2014 10:32 PM |
Adore said she only brought four "gowns," not four outfits.
by Anonymous | reply 279 | March 15, 2014 10:42 PM |
I understand the attitudes of people who are bringing pre-show approval and support to the season. I have rooted for some queens as the season started, based on previous appreciation. Go ahead and let your roots show, of course.
But all that is rather beside the point when it comes to what is supposed to be a competition. Each episode provides multiple opportunities for the contestants to show their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. And if and when it looks like a preset agenda or manipulation of results is taking place, it's offensive.
It's not that I don't expect such things to go on. Of course they do. They couldn't have a successful season without scoping things out, playing angles, setting up conflicts, and knowing in advance who the win, place and show girls are likely to be. But to make it obvious is unprofessional and sloppy.
So they can play around with Adore's story arc and do it right. Or they can try to manufacture something in this season out of bias about a pre-made reputation and popularity. And then they can listen to the audience complain about such bullshit.
Whiny. Mean and selfish. Unprofessional and unprepared. Stupid. Bad makeup. Clumsy. Those are the traits already demonstrated by Adore. Period.
Again, they've got quite a story arc up their panties if they're going to manage to pull out Adore's C.U.N.& T. in a convincing way and crown her. No matter how cute she is on Youtube or darling she was on that crappy talent show.
by Anonymous | reply 280 | March 15, 2014 11:15 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 281 | March 15, 2014 11:17 PM |

Miss Butch Thing at R281 needs to move on. Off. Out. Away.
Of course it's not that serious. But that doesn't mean it's not something to dish about. If you prefer cold dish, go ahead and eat out of the cat bowl outside.

All these posts prove that Adore is clearly the breakout star of the season.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | March 16, 2014 5:51 PM |
I don't like Adore either and can't see the star quality. I will say though, that Drag Race is supposed to be about discovering the new RuPaul, and a big part of what made Ru a star is he sang his own songs. So perhaps Adore's vocal ability might help her crossover as a mainstream star. But I don't think she's as beautiful as Ru was in her prime, or as funny and charming. Not even close.
by Anonymous | reply 286 | March 16, 2014 6:03 PM |
[quote]But all that is rather beside the point when it comes to what is supposed to be a competition. Each episode provides multiple opportunities for the contestants to show their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. And if and when it looks like a preset agenda or manipulation of results is taking place, it's offensive.
Please remember that, ultimately, this is a "competition" where RuPaul makes all the final decisions. Getting overly worked up about it being fair is kind of a waste of time.
by Anonymous | reply 287 | March 16, 2014 6:23 PM |
R287, you're confusing interested discussion with "getting overly worked up" because why?
You're a controlling personality? You have to condescend because of some personal issue? You're just not bright enough to know what you're reading and take the low road out of habit?
No one here has shown the error of thinking that this gimmicky drag show is part of an international democracy. But you have to do what you have to do, don't you?

[quote]You're a controlling personality? You have to condescend because of some personal issue? You're just not bright enough to know what you're reading and take the low road out of habit?
Please stop projecting your issues on me. Re-read what I wrote:

I stand by that 100 percent. It's clear you are getting worked up over this. You said it offended you, even. That's fine, but I think it's a waste of time. Again, RuPaul makes all the decisions anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 289 | March 17, 2014 5:05 AM |
R287/R289, again, your reflexive and lazy cant just doesn't belong here. You even pull out the tired (and technically incorrect) "projection" crap.
No one would be surprised that you have to defend your snottiness and unnecessary snarks. That's the kind of personality you have. And on a thread where people are talking about a game, you have to act like you're the only little princess sailing above it all.
Actually bothering us by repeating your crap is proof of your dull and leaden mode. Obviously a lot of the posters here enjoy the show and its silly intensity. Take your wet blanket elsewhere. Or, better yet, smother yourself with it.
by Anonymous | reply 290 | March 17, 2014 7:47 PM |
Anyone up to offering spoilers about Episode 4? That is, if the now-resident cunt here allows the thread to continue.

I don't know for sure, but all the signs seem to be pointing toward an April elimination.

Assuming you are talking about R287?
What is snotty about what he wrote? It's a pretty tame comment.
by Anonymous | reply 293 | March 17, 2014 8:43 PM |
I also find it annoying when people act like they're superior for not criticizing/being invested in something, but seriously, r290, you're the one cunting up the thread.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | March 17, 2014 8:48 PM |
I posted at R281 saying "It's not that serious". I didn't mean that to be "cunty" or insulting. It's just that R280 seemed very intense and upset. This show is supposed to be for entertainment value. Don't let it get you worked up.
by Anonymous | reply 295 | March 17, 2014 8:52 PM |
Adore will fill the stunt queen slot of the final three, so who will the pageant and comedy queen be?
by Anonymous | reply 296 | March 17, 2014 9:00 PM |
Courtney and Ben. Courtney isn't actually pageant, but she's fishy and polished, and that's what pageant girls aspire to.

[quote]I posted at [R281] saying "It's not that serious". I didn't mean that to be "cunty" or insulting.
I don't think anyone but R280 would accuse you of being cunty or insulting. R280 clearly can't handle being challenged in any way. I still can't quite understand what pissed him off so much about R287.
[quote]It's just that [R280] seemed very intense and upset. This show is supposed to be for entertainment value. Don't let it get you worked up.
If you trolldar R280 you will see this person gets QUITE intense, and worked up, about this show.

April is a cute boy and predications were he'd go farther. I kind of hope he does.

I really like April's fashion sense, but that's about all she has going for her, it seems.
by Anonymous | reply 300 | March 17, 2014 11:22 PM |
I love April's look as both a boy and a girl but I don't know if the personality and charisma is there.
More than anything else a drag queen has to be a performer.
by Anonymous | reply 301 | March 17, 2014 11:24 PM |
Why didn't any of the cute boys from THIS season make gay porn.
Jade Jolie and Detox ........Ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 302 | March 17, 2014 11:24 PM |
They've also criticized April's drag as a little too 'boy-ish' with her regularly keeping her boy haircut visible on the runway.

It's a DRAG show, and the saps here don't like sparkle and splash? No one needs you running around with a thermometer in hand playing "settle down, ladies." Troll-darring. Such asses.
I like April and think all the "boy" stuff is just their targeted critique that will finally get her. Too bad. She's good.
by Anonymous | reply 306 | March 18, 2014 12:58 AM |
I think telling April she's too boyish is silly. She's one of the fishiest girls there.
by Anonymous | reply 307 | March 18, 2014 2:06 AM |
R306, you fight like a republican. You were (almost politely) challenged on one of your MANY and STRONG opinions about this show and you responded by calling names and pointing fingers of blame.

And yes, there was a new episode.
by Anonymous | reply 312 | March 18, 2014 5:32 AM |
R310 A lot of people here watch it on Logotv.com the day after.
I'm surprised April got kicked off so soon. I expected him to last until the middle. He did have a boyish sensibility to everything he did. He doesn't become another character in drag like Josilyn Fox does.
Trinity is pulling another Lynesha Sparx with his "I want to go home to my family" routine. It's really annoying to see people who did all this stuff to get on the show and want to leave so soon after they get on it.
by Anonymous | reply 313 | March 18, 2014 5:34 AM |
Honestly, it felt like they had decided April was going home early, and they just weren't going to let it go until she was gone. I honestly don't think she should have been bottom two last week, and I would have sent Trinity home this week for her snotty attitude and lack of flexibility, even if she did turn it out in that lip sync.
I really just hate Trinity, Gia, and Lasagna so fucking much. I'm dying to see them all sent packing.
by Anonymous | reply 314 | March 18, 2014 5:41 AM |
Miss R306 has some issues.
by Anonymous | reply 315 | March 18, 2014 7:45 AM |
Trinity really does bring me down (waa waa waaaaa). Hope she's next to go.... Why does she only fix that busted grill on the runway/in drag ? Odd choice.
Sad to see April go. Thought she'd go further.
Gia seemed a bit more likeable tonight (she's even grown on Biance). Of course, Shade: The Rusical was a perfect fit for both of those queens. (not for their singing necessarily)
Lots of 'filler' queens so far. This episode had little attention paid to Milk, Laganja ...even Ben Delecreme , for a team leader was not featured much (until the runway)
They really just don't like Darienne all that much .... she's always towards the bottom.
Joslyn seems to be doing better than I expected. She's making it further than I thought. I like her 'conessionals' and her runway looks have been alright. (her 'Ruzy-Q' still annoys me).
Courtney and Adore were both pretty good in the challenge. The difference is in the drag. Courtney is always well put together and Adore is a drag mess. I thought Courtney showed more personality this week, but still think she's more 'Do you know who I think I am' than Kelly Mantle tried to be.
Didn't get to see 'Untucked' yet .... always enjoy it more than the main show. I'm sure Bianca will cut a bitch with her tongue. Still like her best.
by Anonymous | reply 316 | March 18, 2014 9:29 AM |
I want to fuck Ben. I'm surprised at how hot some of the queens are out of drag this season. Usually there's only one or two, but there are a few this year.
by Anonymous | reply 317 | March 18, 2014 10:40 AM |
Yeah, R311, but the Drag Race subreddit absolutely sucks now. Everyone is a stan, and they'll downvote you to hell if you have any opinions that don't echo theirs about certain queens.

Well, they couldn't possibly get rid of Adore until after Paula Abdul shows up as a judge. The drama writes itself. Totally over her (though I was never under her anyway).
by Anonymous | reply 320 | March 18, 2014 7:21 PM |
Wow, been on the internet my whole life and I just had to urbandictionary "stan." I like the term but I want to see it used more before I adopt it. Feels kinda straight. I would call someone a "fanbot" or "fanboy."
Courtney deserved the win, but I think Adore showed a star quality. I am definitely seeing Adore in kind of the Alaska slot, as long as she continues her "improvement" story arc. But Courtney feels like she's going to run away with this. As someone who'd never heard of her before this and was biased towards Adore, I totally am into Courtney and think she is a worthy frontrunner.
Continue to enjoy Ben, Bianca, Gia.
by Anonymous | reply 321 | March 18, 2014 7:33 PM |
I have to say, for all of her unappealing qualities, Adore impressed me last night with her singing. But being a great singer isn't enough - and she really lacks any other qualities to help her win.
Frankly, I'm worried about Ben and next week's Snatch Game...Maggie Smith is going to be a hard, hard challenge to pull off.
by Anonymous | reply 322 | March 18, 2014 7:38 PM |
Adore is feisty. Gia is the one who is starting to work my nerves.

Stan is incredibly common.

Have seriously never noticed stan before, even on DL, and I've been posting here forever. Whatever. I like it.
R322 I think Downton Abbey-mode Maggie is not that hard, and Ru likes the girls who swing for the fences with Snatch Game, rather than the ones who simply don a pop culture costume.

Adore has become my favorite. Ben is also amazing and Courtney of course.
by Anonymous | reply 329 | March 18, 2014 8:44 PM |
BenDeLaCreme is kind of annoying, no?
I like Milk's aesthetic, but he doesn't really seem to be intellectually defending himself. And his acting is really weird. Cute as hell as a guy, though.
I think Courtney, Adore and Bianca make up the final three.
by Anonymous | reply 330 | March 18, 2014 9:09 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 331 | March 18, 2014 10:25 PM |
R330, I'm thinking you're right - unless they stick in DeLa as the Anita replacement because the latter isn't as "it" as she thinks.
And I thought they'd use more critical judgment again - nope, just looks like they're trying to give the box a shake and avoid repeating the past - somehow.
by Anonymous | reply 332 | March 18, 2014 10:27 PM |
I liked Bianca at first but jesus every cut away with her is a joke or a line or a gag and she is constantly rolling her eyes. Oh and her eye makeup is hideous.

Best quote of episode four: BenDeLaCreme to Bianca Del Rio "How to succeed in bitchiness without even trying."
Great episode. One of the best group challenges ever.
If BenDeLaCreme could sing in a more female way he would have destroyed the competition. Acting is his strongest talent. I got goosebumps when he started to act.
Courtney and Adore shined. The clips of those two in the workroom practicing were funny. Courtney had better command of the stage but I liked Adore's voice more. Courtney's win was helped by the fact that his group was better organized. One of the judges picked up on Adore's messiness.
Milk, Gia and Bianca would round out my top six.
April Carrion became road kill. He is the only one that stood out to me as having preformed poorly. The musical was really well done. Trinity gave a spectacular lip sync against April, the best of the season so far.
by Anonymous | reply 336 | March 18, 2014 11:18 PM |
Trinity really is Tyra 2.0. Trinity's lipsync was just like the final Raven vs Tyra lipsync (Tyra started to twirl and I knew Raven was toast).
Adore was really good but her damn hair was distracting.
What's with Michelle Visage's critique of Ben? She didn't like the performance? Bitch, it was great!
I like Joslyn more and more with each episode. Love her calling Gia ignorant.
by Anonymous | reply 337 | March 18, 2014 11:37 PM |
Agree, I like Joslyn a bit more after 'Untucked'.
I didn't realize Milk walked the runway 'pregnant' --- totally missed that. But soon enough she *is* going to get clocked for her gimmicky schtick.
What the FUCK was up with Laganja's tamtrum in the lounge ?? EVERYONE did respond and congratulate her and acknowledge how happy she must be. Jeez, this is her 'personal moment' and she is a bird and she's going to spread her wings and fly, blah, blah, blah.
Predicted upthread that Langanja will be the weepy crier of the season. CALLED IT !!

Count me as another one who is starting to love Joslyn (I'm guessing she'll be Miss Congeniality unless she gets booted early), and someone who finds Bianca underwhelming. Her jokes aren't usually that funny, and her drag is boring outside of the eye makeup.
by Anonymous | reply 342 | March 19, 2014 12:47 AM |

I want to know what's going on between Santino and Michelle. Every episode she looks like she wants to kill him.
I love Courtney and Darian and think they come across as very positive people. Trinity can go home any time now.
I'm sick and tired of the young queens who don't know anything about gay history and culture and think that it's cute. "What are the Tonys?" Really, bitch?
by Anonymous | reply 346 | March 19, 2014 12:54 AM |
Joslyn went up in my estimation for challenging Gia over her ignorance. I could totally see Milk as a demented take on Phyllis-Diller-meets-Carol-Channing at the Tonys.

Thanks, R362. Adore vs. Courtney would be unexpected in a lip synch for your life, since the bets are on for them both to be in the final three.
Of course, they could both be so brilliant that RuPaul could announce that neither is being cut.
At this point, ANYTHING that takes the season off the predicted track would be welcome. But it hasn't happened yet.
by Anonymous | reply 366 | March 20, 2014 10:48 PM |
For some reason I think Darienne will stumble in the snatch game. Will she take it too far with the racial jokes? Wasn't there a rumour of one of the queens making some crude remarks and RuPaul and the judges not taking it too well?
The 10 minute preview has me worried about Ben doing Maggie Smith. I can't see Trinity pulling off Minaj, and Laganja as Rachel Zoe has bottom two written all over it.
My guess: Bianca (Judge Judy) or Adore (Anna Nicole) for the snatch game win.
by Anonymous | reply 367 | March 21, 2014 12:15 AM |
It's always been rumored that it's Bianca who gets nailed for something "inappropriate." Wasn't there a moment where she argued with the judges and walked off, two seconds of which made it to a preview a couple times?
But there's so much sleight of hand, who knows? With so many people in the know about how things went in the season, it's rather amazing that more hasn't been divulged. People posting their "reviews" all over are also out drinking with the contestants as they pretend to discover the events of the show. Lordy.
The Darienne stumble would be interesting, anyway. Like I said, anything that doesn't smack of the trajectory.

Don't know about Milk, but I suspect Trinity is a top. He too is fine as hell out of drag.

I can't look at "boy" Ben without thinking: latterday Liza Minnelli. Didn't she even have that hair on her last album?
by Anonymous | reply 393 | March 22, 2014 6:46 PM |
Until he smiles, R392. Oh wait, Trinity NEVER SMILES.
by Anonymous | reply 394 | March 22, 2014 6:48 PM |
Ben is attractive in some shots. I got a bad first impression of him from his first boy shot with the 'Flashdance' headband.
by Anonymous | reply 395 | March 22, 2014 7:04 PM |
Ben is so chipper! She's perky all right. She makes you want to sneak up behind her with a pillow and suffocate her
by Anonymous | reply 396 | March 22, 2014 8:00 PM |

She wasn't. That's just how her face looks.

Because this season he not only looks like the desiccated mummy of Ramesses the Great, he smells like him, too.

Santino is POZ right?
by Anonymous | reply 402 | March 23, 2014 6:19 PM |
Santino is the creep di tutti creeps.
by Anonymous | reply 403 | March 23, 2014 7:53 PM |
Adore/Danny says he's vers, more of a top. Lol, wtf.
by Anonymous | reply 404 | March 24, 2014 7:38 AM |
I think there might be some actual friction between Michelle and Santino. Don't any of you remember the outtakes with Santino correcting something Michelle said? She didn't understand the correct meaning of some word and Santino pointed it out, making her look uneducated. Santino did gain fame as an arrogant dickhead on Project Runaway, it's easy to see how he could rub a costar the wrong way. Not that I'm anti-Santino, he's no worse than Michelle, who isn't very warm and fuzzy either.

94% and not ashamed at all hunty..
Ben DelaCreme is growing on me - I saw a performance he did where he lipsynced to Little Mermaid - it was funny.
by Anonymous | reply 412 | March 25, 2014 2:49 AM |
Ben was great as Dowager Countess Maggie Smith. So clever in his lines.
There were a ton of clunkers though.
by Anonymous | reply 413 | March 25, 2014 3:15 AM |
Ben was competent, but he didn't blow me away.
Bianca was very rote and uninspired despite getting Judge Judy down.
Darienne's Paula Deen was meh ... but they left a lot of her performance on the cutting-room floor.
And nobody really seemed to be having fun with it, unlike in past seasons.
by Anonymous | reply 414 | March 25, 2014 3:29 AM |
God, what a whiny bitch.
LaGanja needs to relax.
I think Bianca should have won.
by Anonymous | reply 415 | March 25, 2014 6:46 AM |
Courtney Act is kind of forgettable. I didn't realize until after the game that she had been Fran Drescher. Not because she was so uncanny in her impersonation, but I literally asked a couple of times, 'Who's that?' Besides the Aussie accent, there's nothing distinct about her.
by Anonymous | reply 416 | March 25, 2014 10:15 AM |
I had low expectations for this Snatch Game, but I was pleasantly surprised. Milk actually pulled off Maggie Smith! Based on the judges' critique, I look for him to have some emotional opening up next week.
And I couldn't be more pleased with who was sent home.
by Anonymous | reply 417 | March 25, 2014 11:17 AM |
Milk was a meh Julia Child. It was Ben who was Maggie Smith. He was good, but I liked Bianca's Judge Judy best.
by Anonymous | reply 418 | March 25, 2014 12:40 PM |
Although Gia was weak and never would've been a finalist, I didn't think this was her week to go home. She does have some strengths, namely she's beautiful, and because of that my eye kept being drawn to her during the lipsynch. LaGanja was a mess, I guess Ru just likes her more.
I agree with Ben wining, she captured Maggie's mannerisms, all Bianca captured was Judy's bitchy attitude, and she knew the catch phrases. It was entertaining, but Ben was better.
by Anonymous | reply 419 | March 25, 2014 3:05 PM |
Milk's Julia Child reminded me of the horrible Marilyn Monroe impersonation from last year.
And Laganga just needs to be electrocuted. Bitch is trying way too hard.
by Anonymous | reply 420 | March 25, 2014 3:40 PM |
Milk is starting to wear thin. Too precious by half, and not nearly as creative or original as he thinks he is.
by Anonymous | reply 421 | March 25, 2014 3:57 PM |
I'll say it: Milk is past her expiration date.
by Anonymous | reply 422 | March 25, 2014 4:13 PM |
The problem was they did the snatch game with 10 left. There were too many people, they usually do it with 8, four and four. With 10 there were too many and they get lost.
It is just me or does Bianca Del Rio have the same hairstyle every runway??
Laganja is just a head case - last weeks big thing about them taking away HER moment..and this week accusing Adore of coming for her when she did not say anything...she is too much work.
by Anonymous | reply 423 | March 25, 2014 4:19 PM |
Bianca has grown on me and I do think she's one of the funniest, but her looks are relatively weak. She never looks that great. You know she's not going to win, even if she'll probably be a finalist.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | March 25, 2014 4:26 PM |
I thought it was too many too, R423.
I don't know who's going to win. Even the good ones seem more like runners-up than first place.
by Anonymous | reply 425 | March 25, 2014 4:38 PM |
Bianca is maybe my fave of all time.
Ben is muted, but I thought her backstory this week about her mother was genuinely sweet. Also props to Trinity for opening up.
I guess I don't get the appeal with Milk. I wasn't a big Sharon Needles fan, but I at least respected her creativity. And every time she walked the runway, I saw she was telling a story. With Milk, I get the impression she just throws shit together to make it seem special snowflake-y. I have the same problem with Lady Gaga. I just keep thinking: affected.
Lasagna is probably the most annoying queen ever to be on the show. I rate her worse than Phi Phi. That said, her lip sync was fierce. Trinity was on point last week too, so it may fall on her shoulders to send Weeping Willow's ass packing.
by Anonymous | reply 426 | March 25, 2014 4:39 PM |

Yes. He seems to strive to be different just for the sake of being contrarian and hipster-nonconformist, but he doesn't have the artistry to back up the attitude. His Julia Child sucked balls, and his interpretation of Ru as a guy reminded me of the creepy Six Flags guy.
by Anonymous | reply 427 | March 25, 2014 4:48 PM |
R426, I thought Lasagna overdid the lip sync like she does everything else. The next time she's in the bottom (soon i hope) she's going to have to pull of her wig because she used up all of her tricks last night.
by Anonymous | reply 428 | March 25, 2014 4:49 PM |
Bianca just isn't funny to me. Too calculated and rehearsed.
by Anonymous | reply 429 | March 25, 2014 4:51 PM |
Of the ones left, Trinity is the only one I actively dislike. I'm not sure I could've continued watching if Gia had stayed too much longer. In addition to being insufferably annoying, she appears to have the IQ of a tennis ball.
Milk is hiding behind his need to be "different," as the judges alluded to. I bet he'll have a big emotional moment and then get all glammed up for the runway.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | March 25, 2014 4:57 PM |
Agree that Laganja overdid the lipsync, I didn't think that it matched the song at all. And she's really annoying.
Having said that, I thought the bottom 2 should have been Gia and Trinity. Milk and Laganja may have been bad but at least they tried. Gia and Trinity were just themselves in different dresses.
by Anonymous | reply 431 | March 25, 2014 5:40 PM |
Is Raven (Seasons 2&AS) poz?
She was dramatically thinner on the All-Stars season. Maybe drugs?
by Anonymous | reply 432 | March 25, 2014 10:39 PM |
Ugh. Is Laganja the biggest cry baby on this show EVER ?? (and from the super-preview prior to the season start, there's even more to come ...) She is seriously more annoying than Trinity.
Gia kind of stopped bothering me. I figured someone had to play the dumb bitchy role. Didn't much care if she stayed, but she'd stopped being so annoying to me.
I'm a bit more understanding of Trinity's Debbie Downer 'Whah Whah Whah" -ness. I'm hoping her opening up about her situation helps her lighten up a bit more and not take it all so seriously. It didn't make me hope she wins or gets final three and I'll be back on my 'send her ass packing' drill next week if she doesn't get an attitude adjustment after this week's call from her mama, etc.
Milk --- sorry, I have become lactose intolerant .......... She doesn't seem to want to play the game the others are playing. Even Sharon, Alaska and Jinxx knew to play the game as 'pretty' girls.. Enough with the clown act Milk.
I still like Bianca's sharp tongue and that she calls people (like Langanja and Trinity) out .....her 'can I help you pack' to Laganja was funny.
Glad Adore didn't let Laganja get away with her 'precious flower' routine too. Oh Langanja you just feel everything SO MUCH MORE than anyone else. Alyssa Edwards must be soooooooooooo embarrassed.
Ben had a great week. He pulled off Snatch Game, even though RuPaul had her doubts and actually won the week. I hope they give her more attention. I like her and hope she gets to the final three.
Courtney was very unforgettable in the Snatch Game, but her runway look was nice. Still isn't impressing me too much and if she has a bad week soon, I wouldn't be surprised to see her lip syncing for her life AND going home.
Darienne did a decent Paula Deen but all her runway looks are glittery shiny messes .....and she's a top ? Oh dear.
I wasn't expecting Joslyn Fox to make it to the middle of the pack, but she seems nice in the lounges on Untucked and sometimes her interviews are pretty funny.
by Anonymous | reply 433 | March 26, 2014 12:01 AM |

Disagree. I actually had to pull the episode up to even remember who she was. And her Fran Drescher was extremely dull.

I am enjoying this season so far. Lots of likeable queens and a few that are fun to hate.
I do wonder what Milk is thinking, though. I enjoy queens who push the boundaries like this, but coming into the sixth season of this show not having the first clue about The Match Game ... bitch please.

He had to be kidding at not knowing them game. His Julia Child sucked.
by Anonymous | reply 438 | March 26, 2014 1:40 AM |
Milk is probably thinking that she's fabulous at what she does, she's young, everyone wants to fuck her, she's proud of her drag and isn't going to change it for this competition.
by Anonymous | reply 439 | March 26, 2014 5:20 AM |
Miss R433, who is so long winded with her dull opinions, should look into the possibilities offered at the link below.

I kinda love LaGanja, I don't want to see her go.
Adore looking fierce.
by Anonymous | reply 445 | March 27, 2014 1:04 PM |
I think Laganja's is playing it up to secure more camera time.
Laganja is drag-daughter of Alyssa Edwards - which makes her drag-sister of Shangela - both of which were the manufactured drama queens of their seasons. No way Alyssa and Shangela didn't meet with Laganja first and told her how to play it up for the camera.
Note that Laganja's reactions are only against the other queens - when the judges critique her, she is very calm and reasonable.
by Anonymous | reply 446 | March 27, 2014 1:10 PM |
OK. Adore needs hair help.
by Anonymous | reply 447 | March 27, 2014 3:48 PM |
LaGanja is the. worst. Total attention whore - "this is MY moment! Nothing can distract the camera from ME"
Her tiff with Adore ("something you said - I can't remember what it was, or when you said it - but it wounded me deeply") was ridiculous.
She's young. She needs to understand that there IS such a thing as bad press and negative attention. I hope she's the next to go, or at least goes soon - she's tiresome.
by Anonymous | reply 448 | March 27, 2014 4:00 PM |

Milk got spoiled, R453.

Trinity should have gone home.
Seriously, what exactly can she do?
by Anonymous | reply 456 | April 1, 2014 6:18 AM |
So, the ones who are left now are:
Adore Delano
Ben de la Creme
Bianca del Rio
Courtney Act
Darienne Lake
Joslyn Fox
Laganja Estranja
Trinity Bonet
I think that may be more or less the order in which they'll finish, too, though the winner could be any of the top three.
Courtney Act is was read by Ru for relying too much on "pretty." Darienne also has a pretty face (cliche, but true!), and has talent (she won the reading challenge). But her runway looks consistently underwhelm. As for the bottom three on my list, they're bland.
Getting back to the top three: Adore Delano is gorgeous and talented, and might be chosen if the show wants to go with someone youthful an hearthrob-y. However, she's not that bright and her runway looks are one-noteish. Ben de la Creme is a little boring but also rises to all the challenges. Bianca has smarts and wit. I'd choose her if it were up to me.
by Anonymous | reply 457 | April 1, 2014 7:25 AM |
Milk's entire appearance on this show was a huge disappointment. I expected more. I'm glad Ru called out Courtney. She's pretty, but that's really all she has going on.
I love Bianca and Ben, and hope they make it to the top 3. Adore will probably win, but...meh. He's kind of annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 458 | April 1, 2014 11:49 AM |
I don't get the Adore adoration. His faults are excused or overlooked, while his few talents are overly praised.
I agree with R458, Ben and Bianca are the stand outs.
