It's an old thread, but I think it's worth resuscitating because, even now that Grimm is no longer in politics, it is very, very strange for a politician--except an out gay one--to not be married. Not briefly in the past, as here, but permanently, with kids.

There are a few exceptions, true, but they're always under suspicion, like Miss Lindsey or that devastating Adam Kinzinger. When you add to Grimm's bachelorhood an ungoverned temper and all the indictments and dodgy incidents, it seems amazing that this guy ever reached Congress.

But he is handsome and apparently well-gymmed, though I would guess his restless air of enraged menace would make any potential date run for the exit within two-and-a-half minutes. This is a man with some potential, but he really blew it. He reminds me of Dan White, who couldn't maintain a career with both the cops and firefighters, lucked into a supervisor's post in a city where supervisors have real power, resigned to "show" Harvey Milk and Mayor Moscone who was boss, then tried to undo the resignation only to be rebuffed by the two of them.
