I don't know if that makes sense; I'm an out lesbian that doesn't work as a public figure so I have no point of reference, but I can see how it would be off-putting to need to make public declarations of heterosexuality even if couched within a gay-supportive statement.

Okay, but changing ones mind about marrige in your early 30s (or also about having children) is too normal to even make note of it. It's probably more usual than not changing ones mind. It also obviously depends on the current potential partner. Everyone says they don't want to get married when seeing someone they don't want to marry. You can't give an interview about how you dream about the marrying the right woman and then meet your girlfriend and tell her "Oh, that wasn't about you. We're just having fun! It's great, right?"
