Joseph Gordon-Levitt Won't Say If He's Gay

... and so what, let's give him a break.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 112July 12, 2018 11:52 PM

Very handsome, very talented.

by Anonymousreply 1September 13, 2013 9:49 PM

OP= Cheryl

by Anonymousreply 2September 13, 2013 9:52 PM

Why is it even a question?

by Anonymousreply 3September 13, 2013 10:00 PM

Got to keep interest somehow.

by Anonymousreply 4September 13, 2013 10:20 PM

He's gay. Only gay celebs have used the "there's no reason to say" excuse. There's also no way he'd come out right now when his next movie is about him being a straight macho player.

by Anonymousreply 5September 13, 2013 10:22 PM

I like him

by Anonymousreply 6September 13, 2013 10:22 PM

Gay or straight, he doesn't move me in any ways. Fake charm, bland looking, without all these pretentious, made up hype he's got no presence, ordinary acting skill nothing spectacular, just pure hype like Jessica Chastain.

by Anonymousreply 7September 13, 2013 10:35 PM

I agree with you r7 but I also add Jennifer Lawrence and Franco to the pile.

by Anonymousreply 8September 13, 2013 10:40 PM

Let him be.

by Anonymousreply 9September 13, 2013 10:41 PM

Shut up R9

by Anonymousreply 10September 13, 2013 10:43 PM

r9, this is a gossip form. If you don't like that, fuck off and die.

by Anonymousreply 11September 13, 2013 10:44 PM

That's uncalled for r11. You are suppose to say die in a grease fire. Grease fire not just a regular death.

by Anonymousreply 12September 13, 2013 10:46 PM

When anyone says things such as "why does it matter" or "I don't like labels," etc., etc., then that generally means they're gay.

Straight guys just say "I'm straight," and don't go through evasive, mental gynastics to cloud the issue--or confuse the simple answer.

If he's being evasive for a reason (actor, movie coming out, etc.), then fine. But the true reason is hardly ever "that it just doesn't matter."

by Anonymousreply 13September 13, 2013 10:54 PM

Whispering to R12: "You were quite right in correcting R11, sweetheart, but you forgot to call her/him a cunt. Easy mistake, no big deal. I'll just correct that for you now."

That's uncalled for R11 !!!! You should have said "Die in a grease fire, you ugly cunt!"

This has been a DL Public Service Announcement. "The More You Know..."

by Anonymousreply 14September 13, 2013 10:55 PM

If he gets any homelier, he'll be fit only for the lizard woman in the carnival.

Oh, I hope that doesn't make him miss his brother.

(Hey, Joe. I told you I'd be pushing it - and these blokes don't know you talk about the DL all the time. You're (DL) outed, babe!)

by Anonymousreply 15September 13, 2013 10:56 PM

It's tacky to get personal on someone's sexuality.

by Anonymousreply 16September 13, 2013 11:02 PM

You are such a sweetheart r14. You are absolutely correct, my mistake. Blind leading the blind!

by Anonymousreply 17September 13, 2013 11:03 PM

How is it tacky? No one's asking if he likes to take a dick up his ass, or anything specific like that.

by Anonymousreply 18September 13, 2013 11:33 PM

He doesn't have to. If he's gay, I hope he is comfortable enough and comes out when he wants to.

by Anonymousreply 19September 13, 2013 11:39 PM

Based on trailers, his Jersey Shore romance movie looked tone deaf, insulting to the working class (fake accents and all), just one more opportunity for an actor to work out excessively, and overall, about six years too late. Do these rich twits ever take part in the normal world? Not their dopey, pretend, self-congratulating wonderland?

by Anonymousreply 20September 13, 2013 11:45 PM

R16, don't trip on your gunt. There's always someone at Walmart waiting to take your picture and post it on People of Walmart.

by Anonymousreply 21September 13, 2013 11:47 PM

I haven't heard rumours. I think this is a straight guy trying to court publicity. Like The Pitts with their "no marriage" rule that they didn't keep.

by Anonymousreply 22September 13, 2013 11:56 PM

When did the peak of his looks occur?

by Anonymousreply 23September 13, 2013 11:59 PM

Oh yeah, Franco and now this guy have learned that gay rumors can make them sexy and enigmatic. But potatoes will forever be potatoes.

by Anonymousreply 24September 14, 2013 12:24 AM

[quote]Like The Pitts with their "no marriage" rule that they didn't keep.

R22. Brad and Angelina still aren't married.

by Anonymousreply 25September 14, 2013 12:30 AM

Shut up, r21.

by Anonymousreply 26September 14, 2013 1:47 AM

I don't know if JGL is gay, but when he's getting that blow job the first time we see him in MYSTERIOUS SKIN, towards the end of it he REALLY seems to like it. A LOT.

by Anonymousreply 27September 14, 2013 1:59 AM

What's his new movie Don Jon about? Is he playing a self hating gay man, I couldn't tell from the trailers?

by Anonymousreply 28September 14, 2013 2:25 AM

[quote]It's tacky to get personal on someone's sexuality.

Yet again: YOU'RE ON A GOSSIP BOARD, dipshit. If you don't like gossip about people's sex lives, what the fuck are you even doing here in the first place?

Go to some prissy fan forum like wepromisenottotellsecretsaboutjgl.com, and get the fuck out of here.

by Anonymousreply 29September 14, 2013 2:51 AM

Eat shit, r29.

by Anonymousreply 30September 14, 2013 2:54 AM

r29, you seem a little tense.

by Anonymousreply 31September 14, 2013 2:57 AM

Honey, I'm as loose as a goose. I'm just tellin' it like it is to r16/JGL's #1 fangurl.

by Anonymousreply 32September 14, 2013 3:03 AM

R29, try a nice cup of HighPoint with fresh brewed Flavvah!!

by Anonymousreply 33September 14, 2013 3:03 AM

blah, blah, blah, blah....

by Anonymousreply 34September 14, 2013 3:07 AM

Did anyone actually watch the "picture of assholes" video that was part of this story? I think it's fascinating watching the one pap move from defensive and coy to admitting his gay crush on JGL.

by Anonymousreply 35September 14, 2013 3:11 AM

R29 needs an enema.

by Anonymousreply 36September 14, 2013 8:24 AM

[quote]Like The Pitts

LOL

by Anonymousreply 37September 14, 2013 8:24 AM

Actually, I think R29 is right on the money. Speculation is an essential part of gossip, and the more lurid or provocative, the better.

by Anonymousreply 38September 15, 2013 2:28 AM

His homosexuality is visible from Mars.

by Anonymousreply 39September 15, 2013 2:35 AM

Whether or not a celebrity is gay is not as interesting as whether or not they have had sex with a man. Interview questions should be more pointed to ask, politely, about the celebrity's sexual experience with other men.

by Anonymousreply 40September 15, 2013 2:40 AM

I have no idea if he's gay, but honestly, it's not so strange that a completely straight actor would refuse to comment if he were asked if he were gay. It's called solidarity, and we're seeing it more and more.

by Anonymousreply 41September 15, 2013 2:53 AM

Even though he doesn't "ping", I think it's strange how he never has a girlfriend. Don't most celebs in their early 30's try to fuck every hot girl they can find, or at least have a girlfriend?

by Anonymousreply 42September 19, 2013 2:33 AM

He is pretty masculine and mainstream.

by Anonymousreply 43September 27, 2013 2:40 PM

He's riding the box office these days. I'd say probably 50% of his audience are women who like him as a romantic lead. He's not going to jettison that. Wait maybe 5 or 10 years when it's time for more character-actor type roles and villains. Then he'll come out.

by Anonymousreply 44September 27, 2013 3:17 PM

R41, are the Unicorns pretty in your world?

by Anonymousreply 45September 27, 2013 3:18 PM

[quote]He's riding the box office these days. I'd say probably 50% of his audience are women who like him as a romantic lead. He's not going to jettison that.

R44, do you see anything wrong with that statement?

by Anonymousreply 46September 27, 2013 3:32 PM

[all posts by tedious troll removed.]

by Anonymousreply 47September 27, 2013 3:36 PM

[quote]He doesn't have a gayface.

Yeah, in Bizarro World.

by Anonymousreply 48September 27, 2013 3:41 PM

I think he's hot and would love it if he were gay, but let the man have a private life if he wants. I give him credit for not giving the standard Hollywood denial, as if you are denying you have some sort of disease.

by Anonymousreply 49September 27, 2013 3:46 PM

Those of you screaming mimis who were unhinged by R16's statement that it's tacky to ask someone about their sexuality need to double down on their medication. The poster was quoting Levitt himself. Check the OP's link.

by Anonymousreply 50September 27, 2013 4:21 PM

R49, you need your meds. He's a public figure who hires a PR firm to publicize the details oof his life.

You're just homophobic. Period. As Ian Mckellan has pointed out, it's entirely possible to be out and be 'private'. Gay is not behavior, it's a characteristic, an intrinsic one.

Now go away and let the adults talk.

by Anonymousreply 51September 27, 2013 4:40 PM

Aww, does the thought of him not being gay shatter your fragile little world, r51? What exactly do you have to gain by him coming out anyway? You would still find a way to be the hateful little cunt you are. If you had the slightest bit of self worth, you wouldn't give a shit if a celebrity was out or not. It's not something that is "owed" to you. GET A LIFE.

by Anonymousreply 52September 27, 2013 4:53 PM

Isn't he too tiny even to be a gay?

by Anonymousreply 53September 27, 2013 4:58 PM

R52 is an idiot. Asking what a person is going to gain when public figure comes out is like saying "I don't vote, one vote won't change anything". It's ignorance. Sure, one of them coming out means nothing, but it encourages the others to follow the same path and be open about their sexuality. It gives the LGBT people more visibility and more role models for the young, insecure ones. It would have VERY significant meaning.

by Anonymousreply 54September 27, 2013 5:12 PM

R41, there is nothing wrong with saying "i'm not gay, but I think gay people are awesome". That isn't insulting. You could even say "not that its any of the media's business to ask, but no i'm not and gay people are awesome".

Hiding behind the "I won't dignify that with a comment" is very 1990s closet.

by Anonymousreply 55September 27, 2013 5:19 PM

I saw him on Colbert the other night. His shirt sleeves were way too long for his jacket sleeves. Made him look like a cracker. Colbert's sleeves were tidy, the way I like them. G-L is forever tainted as a hayseed in my eyes.

by Anonymousreply 56September 27, 2013 5:21 PM

R55 I agree with your last statement, but I also know a couple of actors who are actually straight but gay supportive, and they're uncomfortable "disclaiming" their heterosexuality in any way like that because they feel like even stating publicly that they're not gay is somehow lending credence to the media's demand to pigeonhole them. I don't know if that makes sense; I'm an out lesbian that doesn't work as a public figure so I have no point of reference, but I can see how it would be off-putting to need to make public declarations of heterosexuality even if couched within a gay-supportive statement.

I can see what you're saying, but I can see why people don't get it right, is what I'm saying.

If I were straight and famous, I'd go the Keanu Reeves route and tell people to think whatever they like, date who I want and let that speak for itself. Note: I don't think he's straight, but that to me is the most gay-supportive way for a straight person to announce straightness.

by Anonymousreply 57September 27, 2013 5:28 PM

Who has he "dated?"

by Anonymousreply 58September 27, 2013 5:35 PM

r54 is a self loathing queen who desperately seeks validation by having some moderately attractive celebrity claim to be gay, despite having little or no evidence of such. r52 is the reason why many straight actors have to proclaim their straightness at every turn, because apparently, when you don't claim one way or the other, people like r52 scream, "He didn't answer the question! He must be gay!" If JGL was unattractive we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Your interest in who comes out has little to do with "visibility for the community." It's just pure fantasy-based vanity. Stop projecting your desires onto people you don't know shit about. Sure, JGL could be gay. But there's a decent chance he is straight. You do NOT know.

by Anonymousreply 59September 27, 2013 8:10 PM

That was intended for r54, obviously, not r52.

by Anonymousreply 60September 27, 2013 8:13 PM

R59 I was talking about celebrities in general, JGL is just an example, where in my post did I claim to KNOW for sure he is gay? I was just saying IF he or any other celebrity (male, female, attractive, ugly) were gay, they would do so much good where progress of equality is concerned by coming out than being quiet or playing word games. Your reading comprehension skills are not impressive.

by Anonymousreply 61September 27, 2013 8:37 PM

I don't need him to say it, I have eyes.

by Anonymousreply 62September 27, 2013 8:39 PM

He has gayface and is suspiciously single.

by Anonymousreply 63September 27, 2013 9:49 PM

He might not be gay, but he's so CUTE. And he has an adorable walk.

by Anonymousreply 64October 4, 2013 9:11 PM

He's an artiste! He has sucked the pee-nous, but he cannot be limited to the pee-nous!

by Anonymousreply 65October 4, 2013 9:20 PM

Hate his eyes.

by Anonymousreply 66October 7, 2013 3:52 AM

I've spent some time with him. Easy to talk to, beautiful skin, nice style... and doesn't seem straight. Comes off a bit asexual actually but I'm inclined to believe he's gay.

by Anonymousreply 67February 17, 2014 4:03 AM

He's hot as hell to me.

by Anonymousreply 68February 17, 2014 4:10 AM

who cares what he is. get the fuck over yourselves

by Anonymousreply 69February 17, 2014 4:25 AM

R69 You're on the wrong site dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 70February 17, 2014 4:44 AM

R66 What???

by Anonymousreply 71February 17, 2014 8:24 AM

r69 go eat a dirt sandwich!

by Anonymousreply 72February 17, 2014 8:29 AM

Has he been linked to any women?

by Anonymousreply 73February 17, 2014 8:38 AM

[quote]Joseph Gordon-Levitt revealed to Howard Stern that he has a secret girlfriend, but he's not sure he wants to get married. Plus, the Don Jon actor talks about getting aroused in sex scenes with costar Scarlett Johannson.

OK, he's gay. "Secret girlfriend" sounds like "dating in Europe."

by Anonymousreply 74February 17, 2014 8:47 AM

He made a very personal audition tape for that hardcore movie with that gay director...

by Anonymousreply 75February 17, 2014 8:57 AM

Trolldar R69 and ignore.

by Anonymousreply 76February 17, 2014 8:57 AM

he is NOT

by Anonymousreply 77June 27, 2014 7:20 PM

He looks totally straight to me!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 78December 21, 2014 3:24 AM

R75 must be referring to "Short Bus" and John Cameron Mitchell.

by Anonymousreply 79December 21, 2014 3:30 AM

I think he's bi. He keeps all doors open.

by Anonymousreply 80December 21, 2014 3:33 AM

He's straight, dude

by Anonymousreply 81December 22, 2014 2:06 PM

Especially his back door, right r80?

by Anonymousreply 82December 22, 2014 2:20 PM

[quote] Speculation is an essential part of gossip, and the more lurid or provocative, the better.

Ok, so maybe he's a pedophile.

by Anonymousreply 83December 22, 2014 2:35 PM

If he is gay I hope he keeps it to himself. He is totally fug. A very unattractive man, inside and out.

by Anonymousreply 84December 22, 2014 2:52 PM

He looks like a younger version of Joseph Wiseman, the actor who played Dr No.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 85December 22, 2014 2:55 PM

I have hugged the shit out of countless women.

by Anonymousreply 86December 22, 2014 3:35 PM

If he's bi, he's like almost every other bi guy who keeps his man side on the deep downlow.

by Anonymousreply 87December 22, 2014 5:20 PM

R87 DL/closeted guys are the highest rate of getting HIV. So, it's poetic justice in a way.

by Anonymousreply 88December 22, 2014 5:25 PM

All I know is in MY day, wether a man was gay,bi,kinky or whatever simply didn't matter. the ONLY thing that mattered was wether I could get the dick or not ! That's all anyone should care about, the rest is just labels.

by Anonymousreply 89December 22, 2014 5:33 PM

You're right, R89. Homosexuality IS all about sex after all...and molestation.

by Anonymousreply 90December 22, 2014 5:36 PM

Just married his girlfriend, the robotics CEO.

by Anonymousreply 91January 1, 2015 11:51 AM

If a guy won't say if he's gay, that means he is.

Like when you ask a gay if he has HIV, and they say, "A person's medical history is no one's business." That means they are.

by Anonymousreply 92January 1, 2015 2:39 PM

Wonder if his marriage will last longer than Jeremy Renner's.

by Anonymousreply 93January 1, 2015 2:42 PM

I would absolutely love it if every poster had to post a picture of themselves, along with their snarky responses.

by Anonymousreply 94January 1, 2015 2:46 PM

More importantly, is he hung? I say yes!!

by Anonymousreply 95January 1, 2015 2:51 PM

R95 he's average, but has a nice dick all the same.

by Anonymousreply 96January 1, 2015 2:56 PM

I know JGL is incredibly controlling of his image, but I didn't think he'd resort to this. It wasn't all that long ago he was on Howard Stern saying he didn't see himself getting married and using the vague 'person' before correcting himself to 'girl'.

Lainey really got to him. I dunno if I believe everything she says, but I think JGL's behaviour shows she was on the money about him and Michael Pitt.

by Anonymousreply 97January 1, 2015 3:03 PM

I think his gf pressured him into marriage, most women are like that.

by Anonymousreply 98January 1, 2015 3:16 PM

R98 I don't see anyone pressuring JGL into anything. Michael Pitt was very serious about their relationship by all accounts. This marriage is Gordon-Levitt's idea, I just dunno what the hell he expects to get out of it. He hasn't got much worth a damn coming out anytime soon (I really hope he isn't so deluded that he thinks The Walk is Oscar-worthy).

by Anonymousreply 99January 1, 2015 3:21 PM

Also, there was that weird carry on with a girlfriend called Meighan Bennet post his outing via Lainey. Turned out she didn't actually exist.

by Anonymousreply 100January 1, 2015 3:25 PM

Waaait a second. Dating and marrying a successful career woman in secret is proof that he is gay. Really now? Surely Occam's razor suggests this is a real enough marriage, whatever happened with Michael Pitt.

by Anonymousreply 101January 1, 2015 4:04 PM

R101 Uh, who is saying he's gay? I've always said he's bisexual, because he *is*. It's not that he got married that seems iffy, it's that barely two years ago he was blathering about not wanting to get married and not being into commitment, and then this.

by Anonymousreply 102January 1, 2015 4:08 PM

And all the lame attempts post-Lainey outing to prove his 'straightness'.

Sure, people change their minds about these things. But as I have said, JGL is very controlling of his image, and I'm sure he's well aware that were his promiscuity with both genders known, his fans (his bread and butter) wouldn't like it. I imagine that Howard Stern interview was a PR nightmare for his people.

But hey, I could be wrong.

by Anonymousreply 103January 1, 2015 4:14 PM

Okay, but changing ones mind about marrige in your early 30s (or also about having children) is too normal to even make note of it. It's probably more usual than not changing ones mind. It also obviously depends on the current potential partner. Everyone says they don't want to get married when seeing someone they don't want to marry. You can't give an interview about how you dream about the marrying the right woman and then meet your girlfriend and tell her "Oh, that wasn't about you. We're just having fun! It's great, right?"

JGL is proabably bi and carreer driven, but nothing about this marriage really lends itself to conspiracy PR theories IMO. People really see those everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 104January 1, 2015 4:41 PM

R104 He was dating the woman he just married when he said that. But who knows, I guess. I just find it pretty iffy.

by Anonymousreply 105January 1, 2015 4:45 PM

How is his career now?

by Anonymousreply 106January 24, 2015 2:08 PM

if he won't say = "yes"

by Anonymousreply 107April 28, 2017 10:19 AM

Jesus Christ, how did you even find this ancient thread?!

by Anonymousreply 108April 28, 2017 10:53 AM

His slant eyes make him undesirable.

by Anonymousreply 109August 14, 2017 8:27 AM

I just don't get this. Of ALL of the straight performers that DL swears are in the closest, JGL and James Franco would be the most vocal about it if they were gay.

by Anonymousreply 110August 14, 2017 9:07 AM

I'm watching a rerun of That '70s Show from Season 1 (1998) where JGL and Topher Grace kiss.

They both seem extremely gay.

by Anonymousreply 111May 31, 2018 12:46 AM

I am not sure if he's bisexual, or gay but he is a better TV actor than film actor, loves his weed, and coke but this is very common.
