Why did Simon retire from acting so young when he was doing well?

He was Octavian on ROME, had a starring role in Cranford, and was in the new Pride & Prejudice.

Did he retire or just take a break? Maybe he just wanted to focus on his personal life and sexuality for a while. Making those mini-series back to back like he did can completely rob you of time to do anything else or even think.

I like some of the designs on their own but NONE of them work with the Burberry tartan plaid, despite the designer clearly wanting them to. It stands out and looks weird.
