Does anyone else think Anderson Cooper is a douche?
This thread is for discussing the various douchelike aspects of Anderson Cooper. Please use one of the other threads if you want to engage in a boyfriend flame war.
Like many people, I have been saddened by Anderson's descent from serious journalist to a giggling, spray-tan demonstrating, child beauty pageant obsessed, boyfriend hiding, Kathy Griffin and Kelly Ripa- behagged douche.
What do you think caused Anderson to pursue this douche lifestyle? He is such a joke nowadays. Is this some kind of revenge against his mother and her good taste and breeding?
|by Anonymous||reply 199||05/30/2015|
He was never a 'serious journalist'. Not in the eyes of his peer group
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/07/2012|
His head has been completely turned by fame, much like Barbara Walters's head was thirty-five years ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/07/2012|
Good taste? Have you seen Glo's ridiculous 'dioramas'?
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/07/2012|
He had a completely pointless interview with Michael "Maybe 2 Brain Cells" Phelps on 60 Minutes last night. He gets ALL the hard hitting stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/07/2012|
If I were Anderson Cooper, and I wanted people to take me more seriously again, I would do three things:
1) Cancel the talk show. It's not working, and he comes across as a lightweight because of it. Admit it was a mistake, and move on: if he wants to relax and giggle on TV, then occasionally guest-host LIVE WITH KELLY like he used to do.
2) Cut "The RidicuList" from "360 with Anderson Cooper." The repeated gigglefits look like they're staged now, and, besides, the kind of shrill "sock it to the conservative enemy by calling them out!" journalism that he gives into in those segments went out of style with Keith Olbermann.
3) Come out. Everyone knows he's gay, and by staying publicly in the closet (and that's what he's doing, even if he's out to his friends and family) is more distracting than if he were out and proud. He says by not discussing his sex life he's retaining his dignity and his privacy, but at this point the reverse is true. he will not get fired nor will his ratings go down. he should come out and the press will stop playing peekaboo with him and he'll get out of the gossip[ columns.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/07/2012|
R5 he won't do any of that because it is all about the money and attention he craves.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/07/2012|
Not sure he's a douche. He's the epitome of boring white bread. Douchiness seems a bit beyond his reach.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/07/2012|
[quote]the kind of shrill "sock it to the conservative enemy by calling them out!"
He doesn't call out the conservatives, he calls out the liberals ONLY.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/07/2012|
And to think you bitches used to love me. Sigh.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/07/2012|
Not ony did Andy interview that hard hitting newsmaker Michael Phelps, but the two of them demonstrated how to play a video game. We got to see Mr. Serious Journalist flailing his arms wildly in primetime. Here come the pulitzers.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/07/2012|
He's a douchebag lite. He's the Lean Cuisine to the Hungry Man.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/07/2012|
Anderson is a fame/celeb whore. All he cares about is being famous and hanging out with celebrities. He doesn't care if the daytime show makes him look like a lightweight in the news business. The daytime show gets him the attention he so desperately craves. I don't know how many times I've seen on TVNewser articles about the daytime show. He gets more press for it than he does 360.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/07/2012|
The only way to find out is to place a glass of vinegar nearby and see if he gravitates toward it naturally.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/07/2012|
The thing I don't understand is, if he had pursued the path of being a respected journalist, he would still have access to the celebrity friends and glamorous parties. Mike Wallace, Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather all led active social lives. And their friends were interesting people like business and political leaders as well as celebrities.
And as for money, he was born with it, so it can't be that.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/07/2012|
He didn't inherit great wealth from anyone so he has found a way to live a highly affluent lifestyle. He's not about to change anything. I just hope he has some good investment advisers.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/07/2012|
"His shows are for queers -- dull, dull, dull."
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/07/2012|
This bitch is all about her. Remember she went into hiding while reporting in Egypt. Me me me. I'm so important they want to kill me.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/07/2012|
He may have earned more money on his own than any of his Vanderbilt relatives, unless Cornelius was some kind of billionaire back then. AC is mega-wealthy.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/07/2012|
When he bottoms his ass is surprisingly rough. I expected it to be smooth as drooly silk, but it's rather gashy and rough, like used sandpaper. I don't know if he took it too many times and toyed around too much without proper lube when he was young, or if the near-albino, scaleless-fish look is just an external thing. Anyway, it was distracting. His ass is meaty, just now starting to droop and pucker on the edges with age.
He seemed to love it, although with his insisting on being on his stomach with his face down in all those down pillows I didn't really get that much of a sense of it except by how his pale body kept flushing and charging pink and red in patterns like a cuttlefish as I changed tempo and depth.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/07/2012|
I like him. He is boring for all the fanfare he gets on television.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/07/2012|
Anderson Cooper is a great guy and a real American hero. The OP is a douche with no knowledge at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/07/2012|
AC spent too much time partying over the weekend. He seems out of it tonight.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/07/2012|
Anderson Cooper enjoys the protection of a phalanx of flying monkeys that ferociously defend his every word and deed.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/07/2012|
"South Park" did that "Trapped in the Closet" featuring a cartoon of Tom Cruise several years ago. It's time for similar treatment for America's #1 closet case, Anderson Cooper.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/07/2012|
Remember when Fox News called Anderson the Parsi Hilton of news? Normally I don't agree with anything Fox News says but they were spot on with that.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/07/2012|
R5 kinda nails it.
I'd add to that, don't do any more food segments on ANY show. His food phobias make him look like a child, or an idiot.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/07/2012|
I can't stand him! He comes off arrogant and really cocky!
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/08/2012|
Yes and judging from his ratings they are not watching him either
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/08/2012|
You are all just jealous, as he's all muscly and handsome with beautiful silver hair and an award winning smile. Plus he's rich.
Sorry he'd never want you
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/08/2012|
R34, the feeling is mutual because I'm not remotely attracted to him so what is your point?
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/08/2012|
What spray tan demonstration? Video, please.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/08/2012|
He and his bar owning boyfriend (if they're even still together) are one step removed from circuit queens, and thus, quite the douchebags.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/08/2012|
[quote]Remember when Fox News called Anderson the Parsi Hilton of news?
Parsi Hilton, LOL. That could be an Andy Cohen reality show... Parsis of Pacific Palisades.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/08/2012|
I never did like him and I've never understood why people think he's so great. He's boring, he's a closet case, and he looks like an old albino.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/08/2012|
On a scale of 1 to Dane Cook he's a 2.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/08/2012|
[quote]and he looks like an old albino.
Whoa! We're inching toward the grand entrance of the Albino Ferret Troll to be swiftly followed by the Daytime Emmy Awards Troll.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/08/2012|
He reminds me of Templeton in Charlotte's Web. The Paul Lynde version.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/08/2012|
Totally Agree with r5, his day show is a total Fraufest and should be killed!!!!! Hang on he use to be a serious Journalist, may be that was just a phase
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/08/2012|
Horribly boring, don't get the appeal.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/08/2012|
[quote]He was never a 'serious journalist'. Not in the eyes of his peer group
He's not a serious journalist in the eyes of the general public. Despite being the highest paid talking head on CNN he has less than 200,000 viewers. Some of the worst ratings in the business. His "talk show" is a laughingstock.
Not to mention he's a pathetic closet case.
Giggles Cooper is an embarrassment.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/08/2012|
Anyone who hides in a closet denying the existence of a boyfriend for three years is a douche.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/10/2012|
[r47] First of all, although they may be seeing each other, are they an official couple? Please, tell me if you know first hand. When was it asked or denied? Also, being atop a float at Mardi Gras for thousands of people to see in the flesh doesn't really amount to denial. Being reported on Page Six is neither denial nor hiding. There are so many other full blown closet cases to give grief to. Save it for them. In NYC Anderson is not hiding by any means.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/10/2012|
Gloria Vanderbilt went and put her family's good name on every ass in America.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/10/2012|
I believe he has fallen behind the times because he remains in the closet, and the subsequent lack of respesct and sense of irrelevance that has engendered in those who pay any attention to him is directly related to his falling numbers.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/10/2012|
I have no personal feelings about him. I don't know him.
It does sadden me that he is hiding in plain sight.
But I would never hide who I am, sacrifice my integrity for something as fleeting as fame or money.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/10/2012|
Most overrated, over paid, boring log cabin repbulican on the planet. He is behind in the times, The president can support gay people but AC still prefers to hide. I don't have any respect for him anymore.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/10/2012|
He's such a coward. He wouldn't lose anything if he came out unlike other people, he's just doing it because he doesn't want to be publicly tied to the demographic. He does not want to be known as gay. He doesn't care about you all rights.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/10/2012|
He's out to his family and friends and maybe that's all he's interested in and he's not interested in what anyone thinks of it.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/10/2012|
R54 Ac doesn't give a shit about you. But Obama does if you're gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/10/2012|
It would be one thing if he didn't talk about his personal life at all and just read the news like Shepherd Smith, but Anderson talks about his personal life all the time and also "sells" himself by pretending to be candid, honest and open when he's anything but.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/10/2012|
Ac is a hypocrite. He interviews people and brings up their love life, butr he's off limits. I can't stand this double standard asshole. I think he enjoys being condescending and a rich elitist.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||05/10/2012|
R55, what makes you think I'm worried about what AC thinks of me? I was just making an observation.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||05/10/2012|
R58 because you keep making excuses for him, like you want to be in his favor or the truth hurts that he's a coward and afriad to amit he's gay when countless others have and even the President favors gay rights and AC refuses to budge. Stop making excuses for this hypocrite.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||05/10/2012|
[r52][r53][r55][r57][r59] Dear child, you have a serious problem. I sincerely hope that you have had personal interactions with Anderson for you to spew all this bile about him, because if you don't actually know him, get thee to the nearest therapist.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||05/10/2012|
In addition to being a douche, I don't think he's too smart. Anyone known as a major closet case shouldn't criticize the President for his stance on gay marriage. That was totally stupid and bound to anger people who are sick of Cooper's pathetic habit of pushing his b/f to the back of the bus.
Ben needs to wake up and say, "Hey! I'm not Rosa Parks!" Most people would give up after three years of being told to run away and hide when there are cameras nearby. Maybe that's already happend since they're no longer seen together.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||05/10/2012|
[r61] If you don't think he's smart, it must be true. You seem like an expert on stupidity.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||05/10/2012|
[quote]You seem like an expert on stupidity.
All of DL became experts, r62, when you arrived with frequent demonstrations of your Benderson idiocy, snookums.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||05/10/2012|
[quote]Stop making excuses for this hypocrite
R59, this is not about me, I'm only making an observation about AC's possible motivations, that's all.
[quote]like you want to be in his favor
Well let's not get silly.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||05/10/2012|
Evening once with his dad. Thought he was Proust. Wasn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||05/10/2012|
I think he's crawled even further in the closet lately because he associates the decrease in his ratings with the increase in publicity about him and his boyfriend. He isn't someone to look up to.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||05/11/2012|
Boring, elitist, log cabinette, chelsea clone. Next please.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||05/11/2012|
[r63] Pray tell what is Benderson? Are you 12?
|by Anonymous||reply 70||05/11/2012|
I think he's a spineless bastard.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||05/11/2012|
He has to pay for that firehouse somehow.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||05/11/2012|
He is very self righteous. He tries to lecture his guests about their moral values. Oh, and he is always preaching to the kids. A little odd seeing that he has none of his own.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||05/11/2012|
I love Anderson but R67's concise daddy smackdown made me laugh anyhow.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||05/11/2012|
I used to think he was of a higher caliber as a journalist, but yeah - douche is as douche does.
Similar to the jeering former-fans in the Madonna Fail threads, I am still sort of rooting for him. Wanting him to get a clue and get on a path back to journalistic respectability. He was once on track to having it.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||05/11/2012|
Denying the existence of a partner for three years is obvious douchery. It looks as if AC being a Ben denier is taking its toll and has moved them apart. Hopefully, Ben will find an out and proud man who appreciates him and isn't delivering a message of gay shame. He deserves better after tolerating this douche for so long.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||05/11/2012|
Hold the fuck on!
You cunts will NOT disrespec my man like this! He does a lot for homosesuals just by showing up to his three jobs everyday! Its not like people dont know that he likes dick. You guys are just hating because you are broke bitches!
The next fucker that says something I dont like is getting sliced Colombian style!
|by Anonymous||reply 78||05/11/2012|
R77, you may have something there. Ben did NOT look happy in those fashion week pics.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||05/11/2012|
Ben's QUITE happy with Anderson.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||05/11/2012|
He doesn't seem to be a guy who smiles a lot to begin with.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||05/11/2012|
People don't smile a lot when they're shoved to the back of the bus while the A-listers ride up front.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||05/11/2012|
Hmm... the most recent Anderson thread I could find was closed before it hit 600...
Not a douche, perhaps, but the LA Times is saying he should come out as overpaid. love it.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||07/26/2012|
YES! Talk about trashing your career. He is now the king of the douche bags.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||07/26/2012|

|by Anonymous||reply 89||07/27/2012|

|by Anonymous||reply 91||08/04/2012|
This is funny because it's true!
|by Anonymous||reply 92||08/04/2012|
I know this is a little belated but I just want to say thanks to R17 for totally making me laugh.
And R2 has the right answer. AC likes fame and attention, period.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||08/13/2012|

From Gerald Clarke's bio of Capote:
Truman and Cooper [Wyatt, Gloria's fourth husband] later became good friends... Truman's friendship with Gloria, on the other hand, which had been tenuous from adolescence, progressively deteriorated. "She was a nasty little girl," he said. "She lied about her mother during her custody trial, and she was terrible to her until shortly before she died. She had a father complex. Her first husband, Pat DiCicco, was a rough-and-ready type who used to really beat her. She finally got rid of him and married Leopold Stokowski, who was more like a grandfather, or a great-grandfather, than a father. I introduced her to Sidney Lumet, and she only married him because she thought he would make her a movie star. But the only part she ever got was as a nurse in some television thing. When she found out he wasn't going to make her a star, she dumped him quick.
"Why she married Wyatt is a mystery. He certainly wasn't like anybody's father, although he did tell me that when they had sex together, she would scream, over and over, 'Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!' He grew to hate her, and he was terrified that she would leave him and take their two boys, to whom he was devoted. He was always calling me, asking me what he should do. I think that that anxiety contributed to his death. In fact, I had lunch with him just before he died [in 1978]. He seemed fine, but he kept talking about those boys. 'If only I can live another ten years,' he said, 'everything will be all right. But Gloria just isn't responsible enough to raise them.'"

An NPR report on daytime TV talked about shows that have failed and the upcoming season. They told how AC's show had to be revamped for this season. While they didn't come right out and say that Anderson was a failure, it's understood from the fact it had to be reworked.
Katie Couric's new show is expected to make the biggest daytime splash. The #1 show right now is Judge Judy.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||09/10/2012|
I was gonna say what R2 said, but don't have to because he (she?) did.

|by Anonymous||reply 110||09/11/2012|
Why isn't Ben allowed to approach Anderson's mother?
|by Anonymous||reply 111||09/13/2012|
R111 you've posted this stupidity on every one of the AC posts. It's a photo that means a snapshot in time--no moving pictures. You cannot tell if in the next second after the photo is taken if he didn't move a step or two and actually spoke to anyone including Gloria. Are you really this DIM?
I wish this site actually took the trouble to just get rid of trolls sometimes.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||09/13/2012|
[quote]Are you really this DIM?
Thanks for playing, r112. Trying to match your trolling is a serious job but somebody has to do it. No doubt if I post the photo on another thread, you'll rush in there to post another defense.
It's so easy to make you trolls react to any silly statement about AC that has no basis in reality. It's all part of the collaborative fiction of a Cooper thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||09/13/2012|
I try to not get involved in the inane arguments that fly on these AC threads R113 so I have no clue what the hell you're even trying to say here.
I just find what you wrote incredibly stupid that is all. The AC threads are pretty much unreadable now & all the trolling posts don't help. If the webbie was doing their job, they'd just eliminate some of these posts. But no, I'm not interested in playing whatever games are going on in your head.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||09/13/2012|
R112 is right, that photo is just an instant in time. Also R113, you apparently have your understanding of what a troll is and isn't, reversed.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||09/13/2012|
It's weird his head has been so turned by fame 9given that he grew up a Vanderbilt with a famous mother), but if you think of the Barbara Walters model you can see why it happened.
Barbara Walters' father was a nightclub promoter who was obsessed with celebrity, and she felt the best way to get attention from him 9and thus have her sense of self-worth validated) was to become famous.
Similarly, Anderson's mother desperately wanted to be a movie star and stay in the headlines, and as a child he must have felt to keep her attention he would have to become famous himself.
I used to respect him quite a lot before he started selling out to do his talk show and his New Year's specials and hanging out with the likes of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Diane von Furstenberg's yacht. What the hell can he really have to say to Kelly Ripa other than discussing being famous? He graduated from Yale; she dropped out of Camden County College.
|by Anonymous||reply 116||09/13/2012|
I can't imagine why Anderson's life/career choices cause so much torment for some people that they have to keep posting and digging up negative threads to express their never-ending disappointment with him on a daily basis.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||09/13/2012|
Benderfrau at r117, why don't you go back to your private shrine and light some incense cones to worship your diminutive white-haired god. The adults are talking.

You don't sound like an adult R118.

|by Anonymous||reply 120||09/13/2012|
Anderson Cooper threads all degenerate now into childish namecalling. I'm beginning to think webbie should put a moratorium on all of them for a while until the regular posters ot them can get their acts together.

I watched a clip of Anderson Cooper interviewing Christopher Hitchens...it was so painful. Awful. I can't believe he makes a living interviewing people when he so clearly falls short of asking a pointed question and only hastens to fill gaps with his own personal stories which, if you read Hitchens books, is the exact thing that annoys him the most.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||09/26/2012|
He does an okay job when reporting the immediate effects of a hurricane or earthquake but he'll never be considered a serious journalist since there aren't enough hurricanes and earthquakes to continually demonstrate the only thing he does with a modicum of success. He doesn't have the personality to be a success on a daily TV show. He got the jobs on his name connection, not talent.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||09/27/2012|
Well OP I think the only reason AC is even friends with Kelly Ripa is because she forced the issue. She showers him (like all straight women do) with compliments so that he HAS to like her. She knows what she's doing. I do think Anderson knows the real deal. I could tell there would be no way in hell he would be her co-host. They wanted him bad enough but he was smart enough not to go there. So I give him some credit.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||09/27/2012|
My brother, Anderson, got in my bed again last night. He was naked and later claimed he was sleepwalking. I haven't told anyone and am just writing it in my diary because I know he would never read a diary that belongs to someone else.

|by Anonymous||reply 134||10/07/2012|
He just chose to be a celebrity, make a lot of money, whatever. It's American infotainment. What, he should pass?
|by Anonymous||reply 135||10/07/2012|
I really enjoyed that good reading he gave Ms Star Jones the other day. He Im sure he would have continued if it wasn't live. Its nice to know that he is human and not a robot, and that he does not take kindly to people talking shit about him. Now if he could just put some Dataloungers in their place about all the shit that we say about him here!
|by Anonymous||reply 136||10/07/2012|
Star Jones could easily have gotten the idea from DL that Cooper finally came out of his closet for ratings. That notion was posted here many times over in July. It's obvious that many people here thought that was the reason he came out -- the sinking ratings for 360 and the need to up the viewers for his daytime show.

Look at his dog. How can a "douche" have a dog this cute?
|by Anonymous||reply 138||10/07/2012|
The dog looks just like him.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||10/07/2012|
Cute dog. Who walks the dog every morning?
|by Anonymous||reply 141||10/13/2012|
Anderson just certified his douche credentials.
[quote]On Watch What Happens Live, Cohen asked Cooper whether certain public figures should come out. Cooper said this, "I mean look, it’s a personal decision that everyone has to make for their own reasons ... I’m pretty understanding of where people are at, and people are at different places in their lives. But there’s a bunch of people whom I’m surprised have not been more forward, and you know given their position and the extent to which they’re forward about other aspects about their lives."

I thought this thread was deleted last year. It's interesting to see it again at a time when he has now managed to become the gay douche of the season.
After spending decades in the closet and then coming out via a letter while fleeing the country, his comments to Cohen have put him in the Permanent Douche Pool.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||02/27/2013|
He really looks like somebody's grandfather in the pics from his Portugal trip.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||03/05/2013|
I was watching his "talk" show yesterday when AC interviewed a woman who eats face mask. AC had a "therapist" on (at the link) who is a sex therapist. When the mask eater said she had a pain in her stomach, Dr. Argosy piped in with a diagnosis of anxiety. WTF? The woman is ingesting clay and the pain she is experiencing is caused by anxiety. The diagnoses went downhill from there. Who vets these experts anyway?
|by Anonymous||reply 147||03/07/2013|
He has done a big turn around since coming out. He's more open, chatty, and warm.

[quote]He has done a big turn around since coming out.
Some say he's always been out.
|by Anonymous||reply 149||06/12/2013|
What is the latest AC thread? Link please?
|by Anonymous||reply 150||06/24/2013|
So is his daytime show pretty much over? It's been in reruns for more than a month.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||06/24/2013|
His daytime show is over but local stations still showing it and promoting it. "See what things everyone is talking about" It's kinda pathetic.
|by Anonymous||reply 152||06/24/2013|
r152 Maybe they should change that tagline to "See what things everyone WAS talking about three months ago."
|by Anonymous||reply 153||06/24/2013|
LOL R153 Any recent sightings of AC and Ben? Pics?
|by Anonymous||reply 154||06/24/2013|
Whats the lastest AC thread? Link please
|by Anonymous||reply 155||07/01/2013|
I can't stand him. Now if CNN would get rid of him we wouldn't have to see or hear him.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||07/01/2013|
Didn't he have a final show to thank his fans? After all, there were some people who watched on a regular basis.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||07/01/2013|
When was his last live show?
|by Anonymous||reply 158||07/01/2013|
It's surprising that this thread has stayed around for so long.
|by Anonymous||reply 159||07/02/2013|
[quote]Didn't he have a final show to thank his fans? After all, there were some people who watched on a regular basis.
His last "live" shows were mid-May; they were "Favorite Moments" shows. There was no mention of it being his last week of first-run shows.
Edit: now that you mention it, it seems he did refer to it as a fan-appreciation week, and he did thank the fans in a very low key manner.

r154, this has been around awhile, but it clearly shows Ben knows what he likes.

Roseanne Barr Goes On Epic ‘Drunk Tweeting’ Rant, Says ‘Women In Hollywood Cannot Suck D*** Fast Enough’ & Calls Anderson Cooper ‘A Toad’
|by Anonymous||reply 166||11/30/2013|
If New Year's Eve 2014 coverage with Kathy Griffith is an indicator, then I must say he has no personality! As Mom used to say “He’s as exciting as white bread & mashed potatoes on a white china plate”
|by Anonymous||reply 167||01/02/2014|
He reminds me of Pat Stevens.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||01/02/2014|
New years Eve with Kathy Griffin is no longer funny at all. She never shuts her damn mouth and he just stands there and giggle at her. It is getting old. I used to like it, but he has no personality at all. He is a dud. Sorry Anderson, but that is how I feel.
|by Anonymous||reply 169||01/02/2014|
"he just stands there and giggle at her."
Does he giggle like that when he's taking Ben's 9 inch uncut cock up his ass?
|by Anonymous||reply 170||01/02/2014|
Is Ben his longest relationship so far?
|by Anonymous||reply 171||01/02/2014|
Anderson Cooper is super cool because he's a militant atheist. The most intelligent people in this world are atheists. I love the way Anderson Cooper successfully debunks all of those bogus psychics and the paranormal whenever some story on the subject crosses the wire. It pisses me off that so many dumb American's are believing in the afterlife, psychics and the paranormal because of all of those retarded "ghost hunting" crap shows that are on cable. We need more intelligent voices like Anderson Cooper and the rest of the vast and growing skeptical community to voice the truth regarding the paranormal and the afterlife as being nonexistent. How about CNN doing a show that will counter the views on all of those inane "ghost hunting" shows, and expose all of those "psychic detectives" as the mega frauds that they are! How can police agencies be so foolish to use these tricksters?
|by Anonymous||reply 172||09/16/2014|
All those years of self-loathing in the closet. So sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 174||05/28/2015|
As a public personality, Cooper merely reflects the douchiness at large.
Look at yourselves, America.
|by Anonymous||reply 175||05/29/2015|
Look how hot we were together...
|by Anonymous||reply 178||05/29/2015|
Anderson Cooper is less douchy than Andy Cohen.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||05/29/2015|
I don't think he's a douche. This tree he's chopping down might though.
|by Anonymous||reply 180||05/29/2015|
I like that Anderson is an atheist (that shows intelligence) but obviously he has a douchey side to him since he's friends with so many annoying celebs.
He also has a bit of an elitist side to him. I have a good-looking gay friend who co-owns a company that is quite popular among celebs. My friend has appeared at numerous red carpet and private celeb events. He's also appeared on tv numerous times. Anyway, he is friends in real life and on facebook with a gay tv producer. Apparently Anderson has a private/secret facebook account and is friends with this tv producer as well. 1 day Anderson sent out a friend request to my friend and my friend accepted even though they had never interacted before. The next day, my friend noticed that Anderson had unfriended him. Clearly all Anderson was doing was checking out who my friend was and probably wondered if he was "important" enough to stay facebook friends with. That's high school behavior right there. No, my friend wasn't upset or annoyed, he just found it strange and amusing. Who does that?
|by Anonymous||reply 181||05/29/2015|
Anderson mentioned god a lot in his coming out statement. I didn't understand that because he doesn't seem like someone who is at all religious or believes in any higher power. I know he meditates or something, but I don't know why he was thanking god in his statement. He's also said that his parents taught him to hate anything and everything that smacked of elitism. I guess everyone slips into high school behavior every now and then though.
|by Anonymous||reply 182||05/29/2015|
He's the Prince Edward of American TV journalism.
|by Anonymous||reply 183||05/29/2015|
Anderson is religious? Didn't know that.
I like him. I swear, a guy comes out and turns into a pariah on here. We only like speculating on who is a closet case, don't we?
|by Anonymous||reply 184||05/29/2015|
I'm not sure he's actually religious, but it seems kind of odd of him to make mention of God so much in his coming out statement. Maybe there was some kind of calculation going on there because he really doesn't seem the slightest bit religious.
|by Anonymous||reply 185||05/29/2015|
[quote]I swear, a guy comes out and turns into a pariah on here.
That's right R184. Everyone at DL admired Cooper for staying in the closet. We do that with all the closet cases. That's why we all adore Hugh Jackman, Kevin Spacey, and all the other closet cases and we shower praise upon them. So glad you noticed.
|by Anonymous||reply 186||05/29/2015|
not at all give me great head ;)
|by Anonymous||reply 187||05/30/2015|
I wanna see the rest of AC's firehouse.
|by Anonymous||reply 188||05/30/2015|
I don't think Anderson is a douche ...but I also don't think he is attractive in the least.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||05/30/2015|
I find him the least douchey and the MOST attractive.
|by Anonymous||reply 191||05/30/2015|
No, he's not a douche. He's delusional in that he thinks he's better than he really is.
|by Anonymous||reply 192||05/30/2015|
Anderson is good looking, super smart, fit, kind, and very well hung. He will get along fine with or without Ben.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||05/30/2015|
Anderson doesn't come off like he has a huge ego or thinks he's better than he is. I don't know where anyone gets that idea.
[quote]He will get along fine with or without Ben
I don't think he'll ever be without Ben though.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||05/30/2015|
He seems like a sweetheart. A giggler and a cuddler.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||05/30/2015|
His friendship with Kathy Griffin seems to have cooled.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||05/30/2015|
I haven't seen much of Kathy Griffin since the Fashion Police incident. Anderson looked irritated with Andy Cohen when he suggested that Kathy was wrong about the whole thing. I think they text each other a lot.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||05/30/2015|
Anderson and Andy are a perfect couple (not meaning for sex). They go together like Orphan Annie and Sandy, Amos and Andy, Alice T. and Gertrude S. Douches unite!!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 198||05/30/2015|
[quote]Anderson is good looking, super smart, fit, kind, and very well hung
Yes, he's hot, smart and fit, but I don't think anyone has ever described him as well hung.
