Princess Diana Scream

Hi, does anyone have a link to the whole video of the guys who are watching television when Princess Diana is reported dead? I'd like to send it to someone. I tried searching here and on youtube and the only thing I can find is a 6 second clip of the one guy screaming. I'd like to find the whole thing.

by Anonymousreply 18506/28/2015

Is it this one?

by Anonymousreply 112/04/2011

That's the one.

by Anonymousreply 212/04/2011

I love the reaction of the friend who looks like he's going to laugh after the screaming queen goes off. He has to cover his mouth. Funny.

by Anonymousreply 312/04/2011

This would make a great play, ala "Boys In The Band". C'mon you Broadway queens, write it; we don't need another revival of Grease.

by Anonymousreply 512/04/2011

Go fuck yourself R4.

by Anonymousreply 612/04/2011

Sadly, from some of the asshole-ish comments on that YouTube video, in some cases R4 is correct. Is it really 2011 ?? Still so many creeps around.

by Anonymousreply 712/04/2011

Thanks R1.

by Anonymousreply 812/04/2011

I can't believe it's been almost 15 years. God, time goes by.

by Anonymousreply 912/04/2011

How many of you did the Scream?

by Anonymousreply 1012/04/2011

r9, so true!

by Anonymousreply 1112/04/2011

For the life of me, I still don't understand why so many gay men got so worked up over her death. She was pretty but certainly not beautiful. She had no effect at all on our lives. She had no real talent.

I guess it's the soap opera-like aspects to her life.

by Anonymousreply 1212/04/2011

I Heart R12

Marry me, please!

by Anonymousreply 1312/04/2011

Why can't I have friends like this? I bet that guy squeals like a stuck pig when he's being fucked.

by Anonymousreply 1412/04/2011

Also, where is the comfort sex?

by Anonymousreply 1512/04/2011

"How many of you did the Scream?"

I did that very same night when I got a message from Bally's Vegas saying Liza had canceled for the following weekend. I screamed like a seven year old girl being stabbed.

Oh, and then Diana died.

by Anonymousreply 1612/04/2011

I love that later in the video the one who screams is being held by his friend or partner as he holds a hand over his mouth.

by Anonymousreply 1712/04/2011

LOL R16.

It's a little morbid but that video never gets old. Hahahahha

by Anonymousreply 1812/04/2011

Some top-quality pearl-clutching on display in this video.

by Anonymousreply 2012/05/2011

R12 People identified with her on a number of levels.

Plus, she was well respected for doing so much charity work. She could have lived the jet set life and done nothing after leaving the Palace. But she truly cared about helping people. Hence "The People's Princess"

by Anonymousreply 2112/05/2011

by Anonymousreply 2212/05/2011

Someone should write a play surrounding the circumstances of this video. It seems like there is a lot going on with these people, and death of Princess Di has brought the drama to a head!

by Anonymousreply 2312/05/2011

What a tremendous idea, R24.

A 'Tale of The Unexpected', maybe.

by Anonymousreply 2412/05/2011

by Anonymousreply 2512/26/2011

Does anyone know any of the guys in this infamous video?

by Anonymousreply 2612/26/2011

Was it ever explained why they were sitting around playing cards and being videotaped?

by Anonymousreply 2712/26/2011

That's not the original video, it's a poor copy re-uploaded.

by Anonymousreply 2812/26/2011

[quote] Is it really 2011 ?? Still so many creeps around.

Yeh...and we aint goin nowhere.

by Anonymousreply 2912/26/2011

My favorite bit (besides the scream):

Queen 1: "It has CHANGED. 'Princess Diana SERIOUSLY injured.' They've added the word 'seriously'. That's not good."

Queen 2 (off-camera): "In other words, her face got it."

by Anonymousreply 3012/26/2011

All you idiot queens laughing about her death deserve to die a slow and painful death!

by Anonymousreply 3112/26/2011

Oh, pull the stick out, R32--no one's laughing at Diana's death, merely the over-the-top and very campy YouTube video.

by Anonymousreply 3212/26/2011

R32 is my FAVORITE type of DL poster - the VOICE OF GOD THE MARY! She knows just how you deserve to die and where you deserve to suffer for all eternity because you offend her taste and discretion.

Never mind that presuming to judge in such a way - if she's a Christian - breaks the First Commandment and is a mortal sin, and - if she's gay - it breaks the commandment of camp, revealing her as a hissy cunt wearing a sauce of her own petulance-and-bile-inspired diarrhea in her foolish inability to understand absurd humor.

Thanks, Doll. But (sniff, sniff) you stink.

by Anonymousreply 3312/26/2011

r32...the posters are not making fun of Diana at all, it's the guy in the video screaming like an older woman.

by Anonymousreply 3412/26/2011

What I've always wondered, R24, is how the screaming queen reacted afterwards when he saw the video and realized his friend was struggling not to laugh at him. Possibly he took it in stride, but I suspect he was in high dudgeon. They should have taped the follow-up tears and recriminations for the sequel.

by Anonymousreply 3512/26/2011

I want to know what happened to each of these fellows in the years since and if they're still partners and friends. And screamers.

by Anonymousreply 3612/26/2011

I agree, R37. They should film a YouTube Reunion Special, where we see them today watching the original video. There should be a split screen during the moment of the scream and the stifled laugh, showing their reactions watching themselves.

by Anonymousreply 3712/26/2011

Wow, that really IS like something out of BOYS IN THE BAND. That screaming queen had advanced Leonard Frey-face. Totally terminal.

by Anonymousreply 3812/26/2011

No one hates us, R40. But that kind of talk is why sensible people, gay or straight, hate you.

by Anonymousreply 4012/26/2011

It makes me wish there was a whole series of "Gay Reactions to Breaking World Events" videos.

I'd love to know what was said in the TV room of a NYC bathhouse while 9/11 was going on.

by Anonymousreply 4112/26/2011

Is R12 serious, or being facetious? Don't you know that Diana was the first notable public person to be seen even TOUCHING an AIDS patient?

by Anonymousreply 4212/26/2011

In metaphysical circles, Diana's energy was of the same as the Virgin Mary's. It created a psychic shockwave through this plane as well as other planes.

by Anonymousreply 4312/26/2011

R42, I remember on 9/11 a friend of mine was all over eBay because no one was remembering to bid on items. He said he made out like a bandit. He also had sex a couple times because there were so many freaked out people in those M4M chat rooms that AOL used to have.

by Anonymousreply 4412/26/2011

Classy, r45. Your friend is a real catch, uh huh!

by Anonymousreply 4512/27/2011

Thank you r43. I'm shocked at how many people don't connect her with humanizing AIDS. The early 80s were simply unimaginable. As a human, you have an obligation to try to understand that history. As a gay human, it is inexcusable for you to not educate yourself.

by Anonymousreply 4612/27/2011

r47, I guess you had to be there. I guess you had to see your dearest friends and lovers WASTING AWAY and suffering unimaginable pain in the face of a hopeless deadly pandemic, one that was met with fear and loathing, to understand the BALLS it took to stand up and show some compassion and LOVE as Diana did. Guess you had to be there. The vacuous generation of queers now have the audacity to MOCK those days? Unreal. Simply unbelievable.

by Anonymousreply 4712/27/2011

by Anonymousreply 4802/12/2012

[quote]I remember on 9/11 a friend of mine was all over eBay because no one was remembering to bid on items.

I was pissed that day because QVC went off the air just as I was about to buy this tourmaline and diamond dinner ring I'd been coveting for a couple of days.

by Anonymousreply 4902/12/2012

Thank you R1. This video is my favorite ever, and was also the subject of my favorite DL thread ever!

by Anonymousreply 5102/14/2012

They've added the word seriously.

by Anonymousreply 5202/14/2012

Princess Diana dead!

by Anonymousreply 5302/16/2012

by Anonymousreply 5402/16/2012

Wow, that guy's reaction was bizarre. He probably romneyed.

by Anonymousreply 5502/17/2012

I can't laugh cuz I too cried like a baby, when Princess Di died.

But this guy's scream is hella funny.

by Anonymousreply 5602/18/2012

A few random thoughts.

First, I just watched this again, listening to it with a headset on my laptop. I think I've suffered partial hearing loss from the scream because I forgot to turn down the volume.

Which one screamed? Never figured that one out.

Linden Soles (plastic man on CNN). That's a WEHT if ever there was one. Sort of good looking in a Madame Tussauds kind of way.

Barefoot guy. Cute. I'd do him.

Finally, on that fateful night. I was sitting for hours in a cold jacuzzi talking to a friend about his troubled relationship. Talked for hours. It was the desert in August so it actually felt refreshing. The water, not the conversation. That was exhausting.

Finally made it home, turned on CNN and learned that Diana had died. Shocking, unexpected and so sad.

Checked my voice mail. Ballys Las Vegas called. Liza has canceled for next weekend. That's when I screamed like a little girl.

I've mentioned this here before, but I still have not recovered from the cancellation.

by Anonymousreply 5702/18/2012

Kind of like the Wilhelm scream.

by Anonymousreply 5802/18/2012

by Anonymousreply 5911/04/2012

by Anonymousreply 6012/09/2012

I always thought the guy was screaming in an intentional over the top way, not out of horror.

by Anonymousreply 6103/03/2013

by Anonymousreply 6203/03/2013

Has anyone noticed/mentioned the back of his hand-over his mouth-horror movie scream face he does once he lands on the couch with blonde guy comforting him?

He is covering his gaping mouth with the back of his hand.

by Anonymousreply 6303/03/2013

This is why England can't have nice things.

by Anonymousreply 6403/03/2013

Still one of the funniest things on YouTube: After the queen SCREAMS at the news of the death, the guy who said "Princess Diana DEAD!" almost bursts into giggles at the Mary!ness of his friend's reaction, and manages to restrain himself out of respect.

by Anonymousreply 6503/03/2013

I LOVE that guy, R66!!!! His face is so funny. And you just know he knows he will get in "trouble" with the group for laughing.

by Anonymousreply 6603/04/2013

by Anonymousreply 6703/07/2013

I'm with R38 and R42. I'd love to see more videos like this.

Although I know I would probably react like the friend who instinctively laughs as I tend to laugh when I'm nervous, I love that the other friend next to him immediately comforts the screamer. And then a different friend/boyfriend holds the screamer as they sit on the couch, later in the video.

by Anonymousreply 6803/07/2013

His is the definitive expression of "clutching the pearls". He looks like he's shaking his head and mumbling, "If she doesn't make it, I-I just don't know I'm gon- whah-Uh-OHHH!!"

Funny that somebody would film all that with their trusty camcorder.

by Anonymousreply 6903/07/2013

Pearl clutcher exreme!

by Anonymousreply 7003/07/2013

Go watch your Tranformers, r71.

The guy screaming was an automatic gesture, because of the shock of hearing Princess Diana killed in a car accident. It wasn't funny at all.

by Anonymousreply 7103/07/2013

[quote] It wasn't funny at all.

Most people on DL wouldn't agree with you, R72. Me included.

Make allowances for people with a sense of humor that is different from your own.

by Anonymousreply 7203/07/2013

Princess Diana dead!

by Anonymousreply 7303/07/2013

Shouldn't the thread title be "THE Princess Diana Scream"?

by Anonymousreply 7403/07/2013

Thanks for bringing this thread back to DL.

by Anonymousreply 7503/07/2013

I did THAT exact scream when I heard Whitney Houston had died.

Then began quietly sobbing

by Anonymousreply 7603/07/2013

[quote]a hissy cunt wearing a sauce of her own petulance-and-bile-inspired diarrhea in her foolish inability to understand absurd humor.

Classic DL!

by Anonymousreply 7703/07/2013

Did you people read the comments to this video?

by Anonymousreply 7803/07/2013

I love how later in the video the barefoot guy is holding the screamer on the love seat to comfort him.

by Anonymousreply 7903/08/2013

There are datalounge references in the comments section on youtube.

by Anonymousreply 8003/08/2013

by Anonymousreply 8103/09/2013

Those queens are using overhead lighting, are they crazy??

by Anonymousreply 8203/09/2013

He's screaming on purpose.

by Anonymousreply 8303/11/2013

by Anonymousreply 8403/11/2013

by Anonymousreply 8506/20/2013

I don't doubt that that video is real, but why would they record themselves watching the news? (they didn't know she was dead at first) Some might stick a tape into the VCR and record the news itself, but recording yourself watching it? I'm glad they did though, just for that scream.

by Anonymousreply 8609/07/2013

Laugh every time I watch it ...especially the one friend's side eye to the screamer ....

by Anonymousreply 8709/07/2013

And here's the funny thing, at the Diana Dead moment (OOO-AAAH!) the cameraman still seems to carry on filming them as if he's not even interested, the camera doesn't spin back to the TV or anything.

by Anonymousreply 8909/09/2013

by Anonymousreply 9008/04/2014

There seems to be two parts to the scream, an initial whooo, followed by a shrill aaaaa.

Most curious.

by Anonymousreply 9109/05/2014

This never fails to crack me up. I want to make it my ringtone.

by Anonymousreply 9210/05/2014

by Anonymousreply 9401/02/2015

I can see my unanswered questions from earlier in the thread. I'd LOVE to know what happened to this group of friends and where they are now,

by Anonymousreply 9501/02/2015

The scream is really the uppermost example of the MARY!est moment ever recorded.

by Anonymousreply 9601/02/2015

Which one of you is that SCREAMER??? Fess up.

by Anonymousreply 9701/02/2015

They need to do a club dub of this.

by Anonymousreply 9801/02/2015

Omg. I laughed so hard. Can't believe I've never seen this. Sending it to my friends that I was with the night she died. We were in a bar making terrible jokes about it. Its how we deal with tragedy. Its what we do.

I'm with R95. I really want to find these guys and see how their lives have turned out. Any DL ideas how to do it?

The screamer looks older than the rest. Looks like a group of younger guys took him in as their friend. Sweet. But he was soooo nelly:

'Look. They've added the word SERIOUSLY. This is not good. Not good at ALL.'

by Anonymousreply 9901/02/2015

by Anonymousreply 10001/02/2015

OMG the one at R89 is even funnier. Those gurrrrrls lose their SHIT when the finalists are announced.

by Anonymousreply 10101/02/2015

This vid makes me smile every time I see it. I'd love to know where those guys are today.

by Anonymousreply 10201/02/2015

The one looks like Buddy Cole from Kids In The Hall!

by Anonymousreply 10301/02/2015

[quote]Does anyone know any of the guys in this infamous video?

Click "all comments" and search for the term "datalounge". It's apparently someone close to us.

by Anonymousreply 10401/02/2015

This thread is hilarious.

The first vid looks like the series of (very) amateur gay porn videos shot around ATL in the 90's.

by Anonymousreply 10501/02/2015

Link us to that r105

by Anonymousreply 10601/02/2015

[quote] Click "all comments" and search for the term "datalounge". It's apparently someone close to us.

It mentions someone who either was, or claimed to be, an admin here, but I think that was a joke....I don't think it's him (but DLers who have more time here than me may disagree).

by Anonymousreply 10701/02/2015

Why do you think they decided to record themselves watching this? The recording starts before her death is reported.

by Anonymousreply 10801/02/2015

R96 Fortunately no one was filming me when I was told my great-grandmother had died. I was only a little boy.

by Anonymousreply 10901/02/2015

[quote] It mentions someone who either was, or claimed to be, an admin here, but I think that was a joke....I don't think it's him (but DLers who have more time here than me may disagree).

You're right. Read the comments in this shortened version of the video. When someone claims that the screamer is the DataLounge webmaster, someone else replies, "No it's not. These people are my friends, and it was recorded in Iowa."

by Anonymousreply 11001/02/2015

[quote] someone claims that the screamer is the DataLounge webmaster

And "a drunkard"

by Anonymousreply 11101/02/2015

You get a sense that the silence in the room is not so much shock at her death but awkward embarrassment at the friend's over dramatic reaction.

So hilarious!!

by Anonymousreply 11201/02/2015

She was the first well known person to touch an AIDS patient in the hospital. She was an AIDS activist in 1989, the height of the plague. With all the drama she went through in her personal life, the constant ridicule and contempt, and the tabloid fodder it all became, I will always respect her tremendously for this.

by Anonymousreply 11301/02/2015

[quote]She was the first well known person to touch an AIDS patient in the hospital.

I'm sure the doctors assured her she wouldn't catch anything

by Anonymousreply 11401/02/2015

Clearly, you don't understand the time, R114. What she did wasn't trivial. It meant alot, to alot of people.

by Anonymousreply 11501/02/2015

Diana visited AIDS patients and touched and hugged them at a time when AIDS hysteria was at its peak, gay men were pariahs and most public figures didn't want to be associated with anything involving AIDS. What Diana did at the time was not the "popular" thing to do, at all. But she didn't care about popular opinion and did the right thing. That's the one thing I also always remember about her.

by Anonymousreply 11601/02/2015

R116 most public figures didn't want to be associated with anything involving AIDS.

Why not? Wasn't it just the more bigoted and ignorant who were unsympathetic to AIDs victims and blamed gays for it?

by Anonymousreply 11701/02/2015

Actually, most people acted that way when they heard the news, Mary or not. It was surprising.

by Anonymousreply 11801/02/2015

And Diana visited those AIDS patients when the Queen had expressly forbade her to do so. It was ballsy of Di from many angles.

by Anonymousreply 11901/02/2015

Thank you, R116 (lump in my throat). R117, it's almost impossible to describe the shunning that AIDS patients endured. Not only to be sick, but on top of that to be treated like you were contagious and despicable. You really had to be there, I guess. It was a time like we've never seen since. Not to be a nick picker, but it is AIDS, not AIDs. The "S" stands for Syndrome. It is not a pluralization.

by Anonymousreply 12001/02/2015

So now, people might understand why some "dizzy queen" might scream when they heard she was killed. She helped, at a time when nobody else would, and people loved and respected her for that.

by Anonymousreply 12101/02/2015

r121 if he had just said "oh no" with great concern, no one would have a problem with it. It's the WAY he does it.

by Anonymousreply 12201/02/2015

I understand, R122. It is comical, for sure. Not trying to preach too much - just giving some additional background. It wasn't ALL about her fashion sense. :)

by Anonymousreply 12301/02/2015

We all gasped, but I guess different people handle it in different ways...

by Anonymousreply 12401/02/2015

R122 He just makes a very funny noise. Apart from that, his reaction isn't much different from the way a lot of British people reacted. I don't think he's acting silly, he just happens to be rather camp.

by Anonymousreply 12501/02/2015

Yes R121. I know for a fact the very first thought he had was 'She touched an AIDS patient. I must give a nelly scream'.

AIDS was/is horrible. She was very kind

That, in no way, takes away from the hilarity of this clip.

On a serious nite, you might want to get that lump in your throat checked out by a Dr. Could be cancer.

by Anonymousreply 12601/02/2015

R126, see R123. Duh.

by Anonymousreply 12701/02/2015

If another gay guy had to stifle a laugh when that guy screamed, a typical heterosexual teenage boy would totally piss themselves if they were in that room.

by Anonymousreply 12801/02/2015

Another scream you'll feel guilty for laughing at.

by Anonymousreply 12901/02/2015

Diana was the last Britain has seen of glamour and fabulousness. She loved the gays and eviscerated the royal family. What's not to love?

by Anonymousreply 13001/02/2015

why heterosexual, r128?

by Anonymousreply 13101/02/2015

omg the "sky so blue" comment on YouTube

Which one of you bitches wrote that?

by Anonymousreply 13201/02/2015

R128 Because many heterosexual teenage boys thinks homosexuality is ridiculous. Duh.

by Anonymousreply 13301/03/2015

R131 I mean.

by Anonymousreply 13401/03/2015

I haven't seen this in years. I'm am crying right now from laughing.

by Anonymousreply 13501/03/2015

If you believe that the AIDS cruelty was just the most "bigoted" reaction, google "Ryan White" and see what an entire rural town did to a teen boy who was HIV+ from a blood transfusion.

Diana will always have my heart (as will Dame Liz Taylor) for their treatment of men with AIDS when it was not only unfashionable, but unthinkable.

by Anonymousreply 13601/03/2015

[quote]Because many heterosexual teenage boys thinks homosexuality is ridiculous. Duh.

But there's nothing about homosexuality in the reaction. Are you trying to push the usual BS propaganda associating same sex attraction with effeminacy?

by Anonymousreply 13701/03/2015

This photograph of Diana shaking hands with a man who had AIDS went all over the world and was big news at the time. It was the first time a public figure was seen touching a person with AIDS and it received a tremendous amount of attention at the time.

by Anonymousreply 13801/03/2015

[quote]But there's nothing about homosexuality in the reaction.

Oh, for crying out loud. Various people already called him a "queen" in this thread. Only a very camp man would make a noise like that.

by Anonymousreply 13901/03/2015

What are you, some kind of moron r139? read r137 again.

by Anonymousreply 14001/03/2015

Please! Diana was not the first famous person to touch AIDS patients. Liz Taylor and Elizabeth Montgomery and Whoopi Goldberg did it before her.

by Anonymousreply 14101/03/2015

[quote]Are you trying to push the usual BS propaganda associating same sex attraction with effeminacy?

That's exactly what he was doing. As is r139.

by Anonymousreply 14201/03/2015

She was the most internationally recognized, thought, R141.

by Anonymousreply 14301/03/2015

Liz was an international star as far back as the '50s, before Diana was even born. She may not have been a movie star by the '80s, but she was still pretty iconic and a living legend.

by Anonymousreply 14401/03/2015

Boy, that creature who started posting at R108 and culminated in R139 sure can't stop the shit, can she?

Her interpretations of history, her understanding of gay-male actions and her horrible comments about not wanting anyone recording her - him, excuse me, as I see it was once a little boy - all show not only a shallow and busy-mouthed nitwit, but one whose mouth cannot quiet itself.

No - Not only a "very camp man" would make that noise. No - projecting your stupidity on teenage boys doesn't reflect cognizance of teenage boys - but it's your apparent need to bring it up irrelevantly that causes offense. No - you don't know how British people reacted the moment they heard the news. No - you don't know what "camp" means.

No - you aren't as smart as you think you are. Shut up unless you want to continue to negatively entertain with your shit. And, of course, we know you do and assume you will. You're that kind of asshole, aren't you, asshole?

by Anonymousreply 14501/03/2015

Note, too, that the smirker also was overtaken in the moment, and the smirk - from the fellow who announced the death to the group - was as much caught with the heightened emotion as tickled by the outburst of his friend. The smirker immediately became solemn and his eyes teared, after covering his face. It was just a big night for them all - with a camera running.

But "the Princess Diana Scream" is a wonderful term!

by Anonymousreply 14601/03/2015

[quote]her horrible comments about not wanting anyone recording her - him, excuse me, as I see it was once a little boy

R109 was just a joke. Notice it's by "Charles" ie. Prince Charles, whose great-grandmother was Queen Mary. Now do you understand?

[quote]No - Not only a "very camp man" would make that noise.

Who else would, a woman with a very deep voice? OK, maybe it's possible a straight man could make such a noise, but only if, say, he got his balls caught on barbed wire.

[quote]No - you don't know how British people reacted the moment they heard the news.

Well I am British and I can remember when it happened.

[quote]No - you don't know what "camp" means.

I don't? So what does it mean?

by Anonymousreply 14701/03/2015

[quote]OK, maybe it's possible a straight man could make such a noise, but only if, say, he got his balls caught on barbed wire.

Here we go with more attempts to equate same-sex attraction with embarrassing prissiness. You really are on a mission aren't you?

by Anonymousreply 14801/03/2015

R148 When did I claim ALL gay men are like the man in the video? I know they're not all like that, but SOME ARE! OK?

by Anonymousreply 14901/03/2015

[quote]The smirker immediately became solemn and his eyes teared, after covering his face.

He didn't tear up and he didn't cover his face. He brought his fist to his mouth after smirking if only to stifle a laugh.

Not OK. Your very clear point was that ONLY a gay guy would do that. You made it absolutely clear in r148's quote that a straight guy wouldn't do it.

by Anonymousreply 15101/03/2015

I can't imagine a straight man screaming like that over the death of someone he's never met.

Not saying it couldn't happen, just that I can't imagine it.

by Anonymousreply 15201/03/2015

r152, the correct answer is:

An effeminate straight man, yes. An effeminate gay man yes.

A normal gay or straight man, no.

by Anonymousreply 15301/03/2015

When have you ever seen an effeminate straight man?

by Anonymousreply 15401/03/2015

All the time r154. But your agenda of trying to link effeminacy with same sex attraction would lead you to lie and claim they're gay.

by Anonymousreply 15501/03/2015

Oh come on people, trannies and effeminates and such are neither gay nor straight. The go in the gender disordered category.

by Anonymousreply 15601/03/2015

R156 We're not talking about trannies.

by Anonymousreply 15701/03/2015

by Anonymousreply 15801/03/2015

r157, I distinctly read r156 to say "trannies OR effeminates."

by Anonymousreply 15901/03/2015

I once had an online exchange with the guy who filmed this. Very sweet...and naive.

I think he was totally surprised that he got a ton of homophobic messages.

by Anonymousreply 16001/03/2015

Diana was the most beloved human being in the history of mankind!

by Anonymousreply 16101/03/2015

I don't think he screamed for the camera. I think they were all sitting around playing cards and the camera was there. The TV was on and when CNN announced Diana had been in a car accident, the camera man grabbed the video and started taping the reactions. It happens all of the time now (look thru FB or instagram).

The guy was trying to catch his friend's reactions to the news. And did he! The Scream heard 'round the world!

by Anonymousreply 16201/03/2015

This is the greatest thing since the wheel. I laugh every time I watch it.

by Anonymousreply 16301/04/2015

Can you believe it's getting close to 20 YEARS since Diana died? It just doesn't seem possible that so much time has passed.

by Anonymousreply 16401/25/2015

R162 But back then it would have been more unusual. The internet was in its early days, there was no Youtube, uploading/downloading a video of that length would have been less than convenient.

I'm not suggesting it's fake at all, it's just funny how they decided to film it (they didn't know she was dead at first) and the cameraman didn't suddenly turn to look at the TV at the "Princess Diana dead" moment.

by Anonymousreply 16501/25/2015

Please, R165, they were auditioning for bit parts in the Lifetime made for TV movie!

I'm surprised Law and Order: Criminal Intent didn't do a "Ripped from the Headlines" episode playing up the murder conspiracy theory. Maybe they did, and I missed it. Whatever.......

by Anonymousreply 16601/25/2015

I didn't cry for Diana but I did when they took my yacht away. Damn you, Tony and Gordon.

by Anonymousreply 16701/25/2015

R165, acquaint yourself with the concept of "home movies."

It's really not as unusual as you think.

They were just filming the get together.

I used to do this in the early days of video cams and that's what he was doing and then suddenly things started to happen.

by Anonymousreply 17002/01/2015

I wonder what the screamer is doing today. Was he aware that he became something of an internet celebrity? has he been forever ashamed? did he take his show on the road?

all these questions!

by Anonymousreply 17102/01/2015

OOPs, sorry about the creepy eyes I posted @ was meant for the other royal thread.

by Anonymousreply 17202/01/2015

How many of you are rehearsing your screams for that Bobbi Kristina moment?

by Anonymousreply 17302/01/2015

Which one of you bitches wrote

"The sky was so blue that day"

"earrings. caftans"

on YouTube?

by Anonymousreply 17402/01/2015

I remember distinctly putting my hand over my mouth like people do when they hear something shocking.

It was a very, very sad thing.

by Anonymousreply 17502/01/2015

I remember someone in the youtube comments at one time claimed to know who these guys were and if I recall they even named the screamer and was defending him, but those comments don't seem to be around anymore. I guess it was the original youtube video that was taken down.

by Anonymousreply 17602/02/2015

I'd love to know what these guys are up to today.

by Anonymousreply 17702/02/2015
