Every celebrity has crazy fans, but leave it to him to make sure everyone knows he has "limits".
Who knew Alton Brown was such a dick?
|by Anonymous||reply 128||05/27/2015|
I wouldn't want strange people hugging me either, ever hear of lice?
I have heard that he is hung.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||09/19/2011|
R1, he is willing to shake hands with people. Hands carry many more germs. Your biggest worry is lice? What century are you typing from, dear?
|by Anonymous||reply 2||09/19/2011|
Allton is married and has a daughter. He a radical right wing phobe of just about anything one might be afraid. You may have noticed his death warmed over appearance on TV recently. This is the result of adopting and eating pattern that that's supposed to help him live longer.
He is not a personalble person ad is best avoided.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||09/19/2011|
A nasty, nasty man --- who can't pronounce "spoon."
|by Anonymous||reply 4||09/19/2011|
On the other hand, R3, he can write a coherent paragraph.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||09/19/2011|
Who knew Alton Brown sucks dick?
His show is called good eats isn't it?
|by Anonymous||reply 6||09/19/2011|
I've read before on DL that Alton is a right winger. How do we know this? Or why do we think this?
His fan interaction guidelines are sort of amusing and seem perfectly reasonable.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||09/19/2011|
He's so ugly.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||09/19/2011|
He's a tithing member of a very anti-gay church.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||09/19/2011|
I've read before on DL that Alton is a right winger. How do we know this? Or why do we think this?
I was surprised (& disgusted) to learn that he's a self-proclaimed born-again Christian -- but I've never heard anything about his politics or attitude toward gay people.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||09/19/2011|
LEAVE ALTON ALONE!!
|by Anonymous||reply 11||09/19/2011|
Oh, so what? Grown ass adults need to get their fandom under control!
|by Anonymous||reply 12||09/19/2011|
"If you bake me a pie, draw me a picture or design a website about me, that’s great. "
LOL. As if!
|by Anonymous||reply 13||09/19/2011|
If he is a right winger, then I say we all hug him.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||09/19/2011|
Who the fuck cares about his private life. Don't hang off his neck in public. Does not require an intense manifesto. He wasn't in Twilight.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||09/19/2011|
Doesn't he have a publicist who handles these "uncomfortable" situations for him so he doesn't come off like a nasty prick? Isn't that what most stars do?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||09/19/2011|
Who knew he was such a dick? Umm, I did - first time I saw him on tv, duh.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||09/19/2011|
But it's not his private life, R15. He's donating money to an organization that is actively trying to stop gay marriage. That's no longer private and is totally a buzzkill as far as my enjoying his shows.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||09/19/2011|
Years ago he had his own forum at the Food Network site, where he posted regularly. Some of the posters were kind of unhinged, and I think that soured him on the fandom thing early on. IIRC, though, he was very gracious before the nutters got to him.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||09/19/2011|
I'm shocked about the fundie part. He seems far too intelligent for that.
I've enjoyed the show before, but fuck him if he's fundie.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||09/19/2011|
R20, I agree. Enjoy his show and books, but figure out how not to pay for them. Library and YouTube.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||09/19/2011|
Lame ass "personality" and now that I know he's a fundie, I wouldn't spare him a drop of piss if he caught on fire in front of me.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||09/19/2011|
His show is entertaining and smart, and it seems as if he keeps his politics and philosophy out of his public persona.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||09/19/2011|
Doesn't Alton live in Atlanta, Cobb County to be precise?
|by Anonymous||reply 24||09/19/2011|
He went super fundie. Weird.
He is a dick and yet he does not like those who suck them.
Sorry for being vulgar. It is just a play on words is all it is, really.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||09/19/2011|
I enjoyed Alton and his show when it first aired many years ago. Then as the show grew more popular, we learned more about him.
I lost all respect for and interest in Alton after that. I'm not going to waste my time being a fan of someone who is part of an anti-gay religion.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||09/19/2011|
I bet you he is a super freak. I always see him flying through the chelsea market (home of the food network) very nattily dressed. He looks like he is wound pretty tight too. He also looks like he has a tight body under his clothes too. That diet must be working for him.
What century are you typing from, dear?
Friends just recently had to dismiss their nanny when she came down with scabbies. What's old is new again. I am sure lice is rampant. Next I am expecting scurvy to make a comeback.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||09/19/2011|
No gay person in their right mind would provide any kind of support for this nasty nasty person. He'd as soon see all of gay people and ordinary homosexuals too, dead if possible.
If you're watching FoodTV and not switching channels when his ugly face appears, you deserve what will come from the likes of Alton Browns everywhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||09/19/2011|
If you've ever seen him on TV you would know he's a dick. Pompous wanker. I'd like to punch him in the face one day. Ramsey too.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||09/19/2011|
I don't know who Alton Jones is.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||09/19/2011|
He has always seemed gay to me. I think he's a closet case and that drives him like it does all the homophobes. Having a wife and kids means nothing. I still think he's gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||09/19/2011|
"He has always seemed gay to me. I think he's a closet case and that drives him like it does all the homophobes. Having a wife and kids means nothing. I still think he's gay."
The bigger the homophobe, the deeper the closet.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||09/19/2011|
He lost me here: And, needless to say, I will bust my butt to make sure the television program your watching or book your reading is the best I can do and fairly priced.
Your = you're.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||09/19/2011|
I bet he has chronic bad breath.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||09/19/2011|
LEAVE ALTRON ALO-- Huh? Who's Guy Fieri? (Barfs in shoes.) Oh, Altron! Never leave me!
|by Anonymous||reply 35||09/19/2011|
OMG HE"S AT IT AGAIN!
I really do believe he is a closeted gay boy .... he's quoting datalounge now.
He's off on Giada Delaurentiis and he sounds like a jealous bitch.
2 hours ago: Hey @GDeLaurentiis, do you retweet every tweet from every fan? Oh, wait, that'll only take half an hour or so...go ahead. Expand
1 hour ago: @supernovakain @GDeLaurentiis Oh, go take your meds.
He's debating with fans over twitter.. wtf is wrong with him?
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/01/2012|
He's also a ugly drunk, allegedly.
Wow, with Alton, Ina and Guy, there are really some nasty pieces of work at the Food Network. Why not just hire that famewhoring asshole Anthony Bourdain?
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/01/2012|
Ina isn't nasty, but her farts are.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/01/2012|
He and mhb were separated at birth.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/01/2012|
Fuck these foodie celebrities. They should consider themselves lucky they have careers at all and kiss the asses of all their fans, because eventually they will all be forgotten, replaced by newer celebrities.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/01/2012|
I agree, R40. And yet so many people I know are obsessed with Alton Brown. Tweeting him over the stupidest thing and sharing anything he says on their Facebook wall. Not surprisingly, they aren't very smart or interesting people.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/01/2012|
Alton "Prissy" Brown
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/01/2012|
Well, he has dissed Sandra Lee in the media, so he must have some redeeming qualities.
Good Eats can be informative, but egads, he can take all the joy out of cooking with all his details and trivia and chemical make-ups of things like salt. Just give me the recipe, man.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/02/2012|
His wife is Asian. That's how far in the closet he is.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/02/2012|
He is an atrocious television host, saying "Uh....uh....uh" constantly!
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/02/2012|
R44, his wife doesn't look Asian to me.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/02/2012|
He always struck me as a fundamentally unhappy person -- a sort that's best avoided altogether.
That any reasonably intelligent adult would label himself a "born again" Christian, or switch religions with fuss and flourish is another dark sign of a most basic flaw.
And he's made his whole career of acting prickish and prickly.
One thing I don't fault him for is preferring that strangers not perform a laying on of hands (though how many legions line up to do this I can't imagine.) It's easy enough for a functional person to interrupt this act with with a decisive, "No, let's just shake hands, shall we?"
Strangers who want hugs are fucked up.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/02/2012|
I'm wrong about the wife being Asian.
r46, there was an Asian female assistant on the earliest low-budget version of his show, and I just assumed she was his wife. He seemed somewhat more intimate with her than I would have guessed if she were just an employee.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/02/2012|
Whenever threads about Alton come up I repeat this since it's one of the few real bits of gossip I have (sad) but my boyfriend sat next to him in first class on a flight a couple of years ago wicked early in the morning and Alton chugged bourbon drink after bourbon drink the whole time. But he kept to himself, I guess.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/02/2012|
R48, are you referring to "W" who is the gadget guru that Alton (comically) spars with on the show? In a behind the scenes thing, they explain that she's actually Alton's longtime chiropractor and that she had no prior acting experience. He cast her because she has the polar opposite personality of the "W" character and he thought it would be funny to cast a sweet, laid back person as an uptight jerk.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/02/2012|
He's ugly and always appears as though he last bathed in 1989.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/02/2012|
Well, he has dissed Sandra Lee in the media, so he must have some redeeming qualities.
That's the last straw. Sandra Lee is a DL goddess.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/02/2012|
R49, maybe he's scared of flying. I drink as much as possible whenever I have to be on a plane. At least being born-again hasn't turned him into a tedious teetotaller.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/06/2012|
His shows are ten minutes of information packaged in half hour slots. And never as amusing as he seems to think they are.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/06/2012|
That pic must be really old, He does not look that good anymore. He does not look healthy in recent shows
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/06/2012|
R53, I don't know where I read it, but in an interview Alton said he'd quit drinking and was quite self rightous about it. Also implied that anyone who had even one or two drinks had a 'problem'.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/06/2012|
Interesting that he's SUPPOSED to be anti-gay.. .when the first impression that you get from him is... GAY!
|by Anonymous||reply 57||05/13/2012|
What a cunt.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||05/13/2012|
I met Alton at a book signing in Memphis, TN many years ago. I got him to sign my book and told him how much I enjoyed his show. I went to the men's room in the bookstore and had just finished when Alton came bursting through the door. He slammed up against the wall, somehow he undid my pants, and he raped me.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||05/13/2012|
HES IS A COMPLETE TOTAL ASSHOLE IVE WORKED FOR HIM ON A SPECIAL
|by Anonymous||reply 60||05/13/2012|
r60 why are you shouting? Jesus.
I'm so conflicted about this guy. Off hand- I LOVED his show. Haven't never been taught anything about cooking growing up, I learned so much from his show. It really was a building block for me to get into the kitchen and start learning about cooking. I loved his personality on the show. To some it seems pompous and pedantic but to me he was just geeky and obsessed with details like a nerd would be. Like I can be when I'm passionate about something.
From what I've read in interviews and on his (now defunct) blog, I like this man. He supports openly supports learning, history, and SCIENCEâ which a conservative fundamentalists [italic]never [/italic] do. There is something about how he talks about political issues and people and he [italic] -doesn't- [/italic] talk about his religion which makes me believe he isn't some pompous xtian right wing asshole that people suspect just because he is 'born again'.
I'd like to believe he isn't homophobic and a genuinely good person who happens to belong to a shitty church, probably because it was his families/mother's/wife's church. It happens. Perhaps he's just a Christian- in the good sense of the word- as someone who believe in Christ.
I dare anyone to find a direct quote from him, with a source, that is actually anti-gay.
That said, he also comes off as a bitter repressed closeted queer who scared shitless of his own sexuality when he flames up in bitchy little comments on twitter.
I still like the man.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||05/31/2012|
Haven't never been taught anything about cooking growing up
Apparently you weren't taught much about grammar either.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||05/31/2012|
Bitterness and anger are expressions of self-loathing. He did say on twitter once, that he hated himself. If that's true - it would be good thing to quit drinking.
He also strikes me as someone with anxiety and an hint of OCD and probably battles with depression- hence the anger issues. I watched him on Ellen once and he couldn't stop talking he was so wound up.
His twitter feed is sometimes hilarious because he just takes the piss out of everyone, fans and celebrities alike. His catty comebacks read like a Datalounge regular.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||05/31/2012|
Touché r62, I should've re-read my writing before posting. Sorry.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||05/31/2012|
He isn't looking too healthy on Food Network Star either.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||05/31/2012|
Alton and Ina do not like each other. A few years back a tiff developed between them over whether you add salt and pepper to the mixture of scrambled eggs. Alton said NEVER, you sprinkle it on after and Ina said always put in the mix. Ina made some snarky comments on her show that were obviously directed at Alton.
I get the impression from The Next Food Network Star that Giada is crazy for him though.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||05/31/2012|
Projection R56. I'm 14 months sober and I must admit I tend to assume all social drinkers are on the slide and lying to themselves. I'm just projecting.
It'll be true about quite a few of them though.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||05/31/2012|
I think he still drinks. He still talks about drinking. It was some interview just about a month ago he referred to doing BBQ with "a crap load of beer" . That's doesn't sound like an AA mantra to me.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||06/01/2012|
Is he just a personality as opposed to a real chef ?
I noticed on the Next Food Network Star that Bobby Flay and Giada are always referred to as chefs but he's always referred to as simply Alton.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||06/01/2012|
r69. He cooks but he's never run a kitchen. He has had some training - he did go to culinary school and I'm pretty sure he can write his own recipes but his show is all about testing out different ideas and finding the best one. He never claimed to be a chef.
But he's not a "personality" like Rachel Ray or Sandra Lee. He can actually cook and his recipes are pretty darn awesome.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||06/02/2012|
a couple months ago on his Twitter he asked some whiskey manufacturer where to buy their product in Atlanta.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||06/02/2012|
Yesterday he posted a picture of himself with a martini. So if he's an alcoholic, he's not recovered.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||06/14/2012|
I think anyone who has ever seen his show would know - he comes off as an asshole you wouldn't want to talk to or be around for even 5 minutes. No surprise there.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||06/14/2012|
Why don't you just enjoy the show for what it is. informative, interesting and a touch of humor injected. Thats what it is. Nothing more. I could care less about his personal life.. People that judge a person by his/her personal life make me sick. Like they are perfect. Just shut up and watch the show if youlike it and turn it off if you dont. No one gives a crap about your opoinion.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||08/12/2012|
So Alton is a dick AND a control freak huh R74? Finding a thread that has been dead for 2 months just so you (a TOTALLY uninvolved person with NO connection to the dick) could slam people who don't like the dick, I mean Alton. Could you be more obvious?
|by Anonymous||reply 75||08/12/2012|
R61, I'd also like to think that he's a born-again Christian simply because his parents raised him that way, like Stephen Colbert is Catholic because he was born into a Catholic family. But Brown was 30 years old when he adopted fundamentalist Christianity:
In 1992, Brown says, he found God, or maybe God found him, but he blundered away until he became a born-again Christian. "The single biggest life-changing thing for me is I just got baptized last year. Everything else pales in comparison to acceptance of Christianity. That's number one."
So there's no excuse for it! I do still enjoy his shows anyway & he makes me laugh, but I am mystified by this aspect of his personality.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||08/12/2012|
Gay boy. Ping ping.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||08/12/2012|
Wow...stumbled on this while looking for something else. Hard to imagine the childish intolerance for food show host. Good grief...no wonder O was re-elected.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||11/14/2012|
R78? Just STFU. Please.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||11/14/2012|
I really hope he's not a gay hater,that would just be sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||11/15/2012|
He was on Craig Ferguson's show recently, and didn't come off very well in my opinion. It seemed to me that Alton didn't appreciate Craig's shenanigans during his demonstrations. Alton loosened up eventually, but reluctantly.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||11/15/2012|
He's a notorious d-bag; I read a blogpost a few weeks ago (that I'm trying to find again and can't) written by a fan who went to meet him and was horribly disappointed by his general assholery and the offensive things he said about gay marriage and race. Also, if you google "Alton Brown" and the letter "m" the first thing that comes up is "Alton Brown Mean." Try it. It's funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||11/15/2012|
He Tweeted today that he was going to go to Guy Fieri's new NYC restaurant and give it a try, because it can't be as horrible as ths snobby NY food critics are saying.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||11/15/2012|
He looked better with weight on him. That emaciated, skeletal look is not a good look on him. I saw him on Chef the other day, and it looked like he's putting a little of the weight back on.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||11/15/2012|
"Iron" Chef, that is...
|by Anonymous||reply 85||11/15/2012|
Not surprised. His on-camera persona comes off as quite cunty so I would have been surprised if he was very nice and friendly in person. I can't stand him, and don't watch him on tv except on "Next Food Network Star" since it's not about him.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||11/15/2012|
An interview he did on TV shortly after his dramatic weight loss (I think it for NY Times TV) revealed him to be a humorless, self-righteous prig. In a short amount of time he managed to put down most TV viewers, overweight people, other chefs, and by extension, Jews (with an unfunny joke about how awful bagels are for you, building the pyramids vs shopping on Fifth Avenue, etc.)
Major, major douchebag with a lot of rage issues.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||11/15/2012|
Am I the only one whose gaydar has pinged with him?
|by Anonymous||reply 88||11/15/2012|
Alton Brown is in the closet, a self-loathing gay man who married a woman cause he was too much of a coward to face his true sexuality.Ask him about the young man he had a two year sexual relationship and paid him handsomely for his silence. All I can say that Alton loves to be the bottom and the more vile names you call him, the more excited he gets.Time to stop living a lie Alton Brown, everyone knows you're gay, it's time to admit the truth to yourself!
|by Anonymous||reply 89||06/01/2013|
I totally believe he's gay. From day one, he's always set off my radar.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||06/01/2013|
He lost the juice commercial contract becuase his Q rating was dropping faster than battered drumsticks into a deep fryer.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||06/01/2013|
Speaking of Guy Fieri's restaurant -- remember all the uproar about the review it got when it first opened? What ever happened after that? Is it still in business?
|by Anonymous||reply 92||06/01/2013|
When he lost the weight he refused to talk about it saying it would be in his next book.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||06/01/2013|
When he lost the weight he refused to talk about it saying it would be in his next book.
He talked about his weight loss, and his diet, on one of his shows in his last season.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||06/01/2013|
Yeah it's still in business r92. If the opening was a big fanfare, do you think DL, NYT or any foodie would permit the joint to close without little public schadenfreude?
|by Anonymous||reply 95||06/01/2013|
What type of guy is Alton into??
|by Anonymous||reply 96||06/01/2013|
R93 he did a show on it.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||06/01/2013|
that was after his book
|by Anonymous||reply 98||06/02/2013|
Alton Brown is a dick who loves dick, but is on the down-low!
|by Anonymous||reply 99||06/02/2013|
If anyone saw the Good Eats show about chili featuring Alton as Grumpy Gus and his sidekick Rusty … I wondered whether the actor playing Rusty and Alton were an item back then.
The show is on YouTube if you want to see it. It's actually pretty good.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||06/02/2013|
Why is this asshole still on the Food Network? I like Bobby Flay better then this pompous, loathsome, jerk.I remember how flirty he was on the Next Food Network Star last season with young guy he was "mentoring" and actually won last season. I noticed, that the guy never actually got a network series as promised, only one show and a commercial...is that it for the young man who got Alton weak in the knees? I wonder if Alton will take a really special interest in this season NFNS male contestants?
|by Anonymous||reply 101||06/02/2013|
NFNS starts tonight.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||06/02/2013|
I used to like his show way back in the day, then I heard he was a dick. So I guess he's still a dick.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||06/02/2013|
I find it interesting that a self-confessed "quasi-celebrity" should be so obsessed with his own social status that he would publish, and expect the world around him to adhere to, something that few megastars would have the arrogance to write. I never saw Liz Taylor or Jackie O issue a proclamation regarding how we "citizens" must treat her.
Calling the rest of us "'citizens'...(that's celebrity-speak for non-famous people)" tells us exactly who he is and how he would like to segregate us.
Face the facts, Alton Brown: Most of the pathetic scum that circulate around you will never read that self-satisfied crap you call etiquette. You willingly bought into the bargain of lowbrow cable-fame, and you will take both the emoluments and the consequences.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||06/12/2013|
He was the lead singer & techno wiz of The Thomson Twins!
|by Anonymous||reply 105||06/13/2013|
I always thought his show was stupid, with those "characters." Cooking for six-year-olds. I'm not surprised he's part of a religious hate group.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||06/13/2013|
I'm shocked that the straight laced appearance that the Food Network has, has not cleared out these filthy and very unnecessary remarks. You people are so sick. It would be such a boring world if God had made us all thr same. Alton is a man of much knowledge in the cooking world. I would be proud to cook with him anytime.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||03/28/2014|

|by Anonymous||reply 109||04/04/2014|
He is looking real haggard these days. Yeesh, he seemed like a dick but I had no idea.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||10/28/2014|
Who the hell cares what his politics are? I don't tune in his shows to see where he stands on abortion or the Affordable Care Ac!
|by Anonymous||reply 111||12/28/2014|
Please don't say he is gay. I don't want him to be one of us! Why does it appear some of us do not like Ina? I do.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||12/28/2014|
but why is he so loved by both food network higher-ups and fans?
He's UGLY and REPULSIVE to look at and his on-camera persona is very annoying, know-it-allish and condescending. He has no appeal but he's been around for so long.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||12/29/2014|
Welp, I love him on Cutthroat Kitchen. He's funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||12/29/2014|
He is religious and homo in denial.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||12/29/2014|
R115 he's horrible. and the Food Network wonders why their ratings are declining?
|by Anonymous||reply 116||12/29/2014|
Wow I guess people aren't allowed to have an opinion these days unless it is compatible with what you want. What is that called again huh oh yeah discrimination the same thing you say you want to stop. Amazing how that works.

I only liked him in "Good Eats". I don't care about all the other shitty shows he's done.

Another freeper invasion? I see the right wing cunt @R117 bumped up an old thread to defend her idol.

r117 is a special little retarded snowflake who thinks expressing an anonymous opinion on a message forum is the same thing as discrimination.
r117 needs to die in a kitchen grease fire.

Brown is decently watchable, but his real life dickishness has been well known for a long time.
Also, R117 has things so utterly ass backwards ... try going to freeperville and posting even a slightly contrary opinion. You'll be banned so fast it'll make your whole body spin.

All the people who have probably gotten sick from eating raw eggs in one of his recipes might have an opinion.

One of his more religious interviews back when he sort of "took over" from Emeril had him saying he had done some things his wife had to forgive him for. Sounded suspicious.
Then I found out that church he goes to has some "pray the gay away" courses. Also suspicious.
Now? I find out he just got DIVORCED.
That freakishly wrinkled, condescending asshole is closeted and it's eating him from the inside out.

I always thought he was gay. Pinged to high heaven for me. But I was thrown by the wife and kids for a while.

One kid, not kids. Their daughter must be in high school by now.
Here's one of my favorite Alton "Totally Heterosexual" Brown quotes:
SB: Do you watch reality food TV like Hell’s Kitchen or Top Chef?
Alton: I don’t like them. I think Gordon Ramsey is wussy. I’d like ten minutes in the back of a dark taxi with him.

I must be going out of my mind. I could've sworn he used to be one of the guys from Queer Eye...

If you ever watched "Good Eats", Alton Brown constantly used the word "lube" when referencing using oil or butter in a pan to prevent food from sticking. He says lube several times an episode.
