He was getting fucked up (and more) with *both* of his parents from age 13. Very much agree that Peggy was a great character, and would have been perfect if they had wanted Andy to settle down.

I doubt it was all Joanna's fault, however, as Andy was (now famously) known for his discomfort with the show's female love interests. Helen Crump wasn't sexual enough to challenge him, so she got to stay. If anyone remembers, Elinor Donahue was surprisingly sly and feminist in her role, and was surprised when they let her go. Peggy's character was quite appealing on all levels - couldn't have that.

My favorite girlfriend for Andy appeared in only one episode, R52. Remember the girl who turned out to be an expert sharpshooter and beat Andy in the shooting competition. I watched the whole series. I had no thoughts on Tatum and was guilty of "enjoying" the disasterous time in her life when she was in the news for heroin and having her kids taken away. I like her, she's probably fucked up a lot of people. But she tried again and again in impossible circumstances. I think Tatum is one of those WOMEN whose drug addiction has been held against them in unfair ways. She's funny and fun and tough as you would expect. Tatum deserves more chances. Give her a guest role on SVU or The Connors or some shit show. She's good at what she can do. Fine looking woman too.
