How to reheat pizza the perfect way....is it in a microwave ? Is it in the oven ? Is it in the air-fryer (my way) ? Nope, nope, and apparently no...
This chef offers the perfect way to reheat pizza to it's original 'deliciousness'

That... makes sense? Oven and air fryer take too much of the moisture out, and of course the microwave is a non-starter.

I've never had a bad experience reheating in my air fryer. It always comes out crispy underneath, gooey cheese on top - just like out of the box. Microwave is horrible. Not a fan of the oven.

r2 I'm sure it's gooey, but it could always be gooey-er. That's the main problem people like this chef are trying to solve, i.e. preserve the gooeyness at any cost.

I have one of those portable sandwich toasters where the top and bottom surfaces are both flat and you can suspend the top surface slightly above the sandwich without it touching; you know, the ones you can put melts in. It is absolutely perfect for warming up a couple of slices of pizza at a time. They come out as new in under 5 minutes.

I believe the term is “deliciosity.”

My grandmother did this when I was a boy when I would stay at her house. (Of course, she made the pizza herself too rather than order in. Her special grandson deserved the best.) I've done it ever since. Had no idea everyone didn't know this.

Cold or microwave for me. It’s leftover pizza, not something to fuss over for 5-10 minutes, let alone dirty a skillet or air fryer.

R7 And what have you learned from past conversation that you can share here ?

I skip the steam phase because I find the toppings loosen just about when the crust is reheated. I use an anodized nonstick square griddle pan from All-Clad.

It's fine. Cover it with a tea towel or paper plate, though.
I like it cold (room temperature).

I don't like microwave-reheated pizza. It's OK if you want the crust to end up like soft bread.

Reheating pizza is for pussies

I've been doing it the way shown in the TikTok for decades. Because I'm not stupid. It's common sense.

R9 takes the "approximate, make-do, shitty" paths in life. 👏 Good skill for certain occupations I suppose.

I like my left over pizza with ice cubes and a side order of prunes.
Now isn't that some pretentious shit?

My stove tilts so there’s no way the water won’t touch the pizza.

I love DL. I have leftover pizza from last night and wasn't looking forward to reheated pizza. I've tried the micro and the oven and didn't like either one. dI'll usually end up tossing the leftover slices. Gonna try this later tonight.

Assuming your pizza is from scratch r20? Do you pull your own mozzarella, or do you cop out and use store bought? Worse still, you’re not eating restaurant pizza, are you? Could you imagine? Only the lazy prefer convenience to basic work in the kitchen. They belong in a penal colony!

I remember years ago, Martha Stewart said to 'wrap your pizza loosely in paper towel - including the top, without making the cheese and toppings touch the paper towel'. Then microwave for 45 - 60 seconds. I've done it that way many times, and it really comes out well.

Yes, we have.
I’ve shared this superior way to reheat pizza.
I don’t bother with the water. Just put your slice in a dry sauté pan and it will come back even better than the first time around.
This is much better than microwaving it.

Depends on the pizza for me. There's something satisfying and tasty about a slice of cold, leftover pizza. I like the air fryer if I want it warm. Sure it dries out the crust a tad but it gives it a nice crunch at the same time. Do you, people. And liking pizza does not make one a fat whore. Fuck that noise.

I put the lid on my sauté pan when I do it so the cheese melts before the crust becomes too crispy.

Christ on the cross, you gals are fussy about your day old pizza. Do you sous-vide a bit of leftover steak? Do day-old croissants get refreshed in a bain-marie?
“Oh heavens to Betsy, I have some fried rice left over from my dinner date with mother two nights ago at the Panda Express. Best break out the pressure cooker”!
Grow up.

Here you go, R32. No idea why the picture in the link is a coffee machine. If you click on it you get the right thing.
You'd use the oven to reheat a whole pizza, but this is great for a couple of slices.
