A bond of the entire amount (plus interest) is a requirement in order to file an appeal on a judgement. So how is this known con artist able to get an appeals court to allow him to put down only 1/3 of the judgement amount in bond?

The appeal is on the amount of the award I thought, not the guilt? Perhaps these judges erred on the side of caution regarding a possible diminution? Folks here seem to be reacting as though they had actually reduced the final number.

From listening to a couple of legal pundits yesterday the reduced bail amount for Trump that is legally required for an appeal to be filed is unprecedented.
