I'm not aware of any "insanity defence" in Australia that acquitted someone and I've worked in legal admin for over 30 years.

I think Beau's calculated actions after the deaths would rule out any mental impairment. His lawyers will probably advise him to plead guilty and show remorse to get the lowest sentence possible.
