Hello young folk, whatcha shakin'?

I think I'm more gay after watching this video than I was before watching it.

Gasp.

by Anonymousreply 1April 29, 2024 3:31 AM

What a wild rid that was.

Never seen this before.

Thanks for posting OP.

Anyone know what year this was taped?

by Anonymousreply 2April 29, 2024 4:27 AM

Is one of the girls Glenn Close?

by Anonymousreply 3April 29, 2024 4:46 AM

What show was this on?

Here’s Gwen - doing it better, of course.

A new comparative superlative for Datalounge: "Gayer than Liberace Feelin' Groovy"...

by Anonymousreply 5April 29, 2024 5:45 AM

That yellow jacket Liberace is wearing is very much like the yellow high vis jackets i see road workers and other workers in high risk workplaces wearing here. They dont dont look remotely as gay as it does in this video...... about which I really have no words. I've seen it before, but no idea what year it was taped unfortunately R2

by Anonymousreply 6April 29, 2024 8:09 AM

Such a loss to woman.

by Anonymousreply 7April 29, 2024 8:48 AM

What color is Libernance's hair?

by Anonymousreply 8April 29, 2024 8:52 AM

Those were the days when one didn't have to be attractive to appear on tv.

by Anonymousreply 9April 29, 2024 11:30 AM

One of the dancers looks like Pam Dawber.

by Anonymousreply 10April 29, 2024 12:04 PM

I must have those pants! Do they come in a size 62?

by Anonymousreply 11April 29, 2024 12:26 PM

[quote]I think I'm more gay after watching this video than I was before watching it.

Yes, OP, but do we really need the butt-glitter-confetti cannoning?

by Anonymousreply 12April 29, 2024 12:27 PM

This seems less gay to me than "white" and "60's". I feel if I add the words "white" and "60's" to some A1 searchbot, I'd get this video.

by Anonymousreply 13April 29, 2024 12:30 PM

AIDS is squirting out of my eyeballs after watching that.

by Anonymousreply 14April 29, 2024 3:24 PM

Not then, honey -- I believe that was from the late 60s.

BTW, I had a pair of bell-bottoms with a sheer matching long sleeved blouse in that exact same pattern, except on neon green, pink, and blue. I thought I was the coolest kid that ever lived, and I wore them all the time.

For his age he was pretty limber in his dancing. I'll give you that.

by Anonymousreply 16April 29, 2024 3:33 PM

I'm fascinated by the dancers all moving with the piano....wud thar have been a WOW move back then? It seems clever.

by Anonymousreply 17April 29, 2024 3:41 PM

This video is second to the Debbie Reynolds “If I Had A Hammer” which is a DL favorite.

This video makes me wonder if Lee ever did acid. He liked copious amount of pot according to one of his autobiographies.

by Anonymousreply 18April 29, 2024 4:59 PM

“How do you do, fellow kids!?”

by Anonymousreply 19April 29, 2024 5:01 PM

doodly doo doo

by Anonymousreply 20April 29, 2024 5:04 PM

Answering my own question at R4 above - this number appeared on The Red Skelton Show.

by Anonymousreply 21April 29, 2024 8:08 PM

r21 The Red Skelton Show was long gone by the time this song was written.

by Anonymousreply 22April 29, 2024 8:12 PM

I wonder what the male singer/dancers had to do to get the job.

by Anonymousreply 23April 29, 2024 8:13 PM

R22 - the Skelton show ran until 1971; Paul Simon wrote “Feeling Groovy” in 1966.

by Anonymousreply 24April 29, 2024 8:16 PM

r24 You're right -- for some reason I was thinking of Danny Kaye, who also had a variety show on CBS.

by Anonymousreply 25April 29, 2024 8:18 PM

R17 - Psst . . . The STAGE is moving, not the piano and the dancers.

"What color is Libernance's hair?"

The girl who does my hair chose Autumn Chestnut #5. Thank you.

by Anonymousreply 27April 29, 2024 8:20 PM

Should never have been cancelled.

I don't know why you queens think he's gay.

by Anonymousreply 29May 1, 2024 9:55 PM

He just hasn’t met the right girl yet.

by Anonymousreply 30May 1, 2024 9:59 PM

My Aunt Rachel LOOOVVED Liberace and went to see him live. It was a highlight.

by Anonymousreply 31May 1, 2024 10:38 PM

There was nothing gayer at the time than Liberace.

by Anonymousreply 32May 1, 2024 10:44 PM

[quote]He just hasn’t met the right girl yet.

Them's fightin' words!

by Anonymousreply 33May 2, 2024 1:04 AM

I thought it was from the Joe Sullivan show.

by Anonymousreply 34May 2, 2024 3:13 AM

In Area 51 there is proof that aliens descended during that Liberace performance and plans to liquify our puny planet were aborted.

Government scientists documented that the best weapon against Martian evil is grooviness.

by Anonymousreply 35May 2, 2024 3:26 AM

Those pants look like vomit.
