Ben Stiller: I was blind-sided by "Zoolander 2" flopping, but it gave me time to re-think my career

Another case of “sequel-itis” in Hollywood.
The original film “grossed $45.2 million in the U.S. and Canada and $15.6 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $60.8 million against a budget of $28 million”. That’s not a hit movie. The reviews of the original movie were uneven as well (64% rotten tomatoes).
A sequel to a movie that wasn’t a slam dunk with audiences or critics. Is Stiller just delusional?

I'm not sure why anyone would think the career travails of Ben Stiller would have any resonance. Especially when you consider the article is a write-around. It's just reporting what he said on some Podcast.
Also - could you imagine anything more boring than David Duchovny and Ben Stiller talking for an hour??

Can't stand this guy.

His best role was the nursing home caretaker in Happy Gilmore.

I was underemployed at the time and went to see this in a movie theater.
Dreadful.
The most memorable moments of the film was my shock at Sting's physical appearance. Bloated. Ugly with rotten teeth.

He makes it sound like that was his only flop.

I think the concept of Stiller as a fashion model is hilarious.
